Dragon Riders of Avria #0
Anri and the Dragon Quest
A dragon egg could save her family...
...but finding one isn't easy.
Since the death of her father, fourteen-year-old Anri has struggled to help her family keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. But they’re driven to the brink of disaster when a rich man demands payment for an accident that wasn’t their fault.
If something doesn’t change, they’ll lose everything.
Learning that she can make money as a dragon rider, Anri is determined to defy the odds and find an egg so she can bond with a hatchling.
Only it turns out that finding a dragon egg is a lot harder than it sounds.
With a mischievous baby kisnit getting in her way, giant cave monsters attacking from the shadows, and Hatching Day only weeks away, will Anri find an elusive egg in time? Or will her last chance to save her family crumble beneath her fingers?

The other two books in this series, Secret of the Dragon Egg and Dragon Wings, were marked as books 1 and 2. When I was finished with book 1, I got 2 and this unnumbered book.
No where on the Amazon page is this book marked as a prequel, though if you follow the "Related to this series" link there, you'll see it marked as a prequel in small print at the end of the listing. Very confusing.
The good news about this book is, unlike book 2, it was actually edited.
The bad news is... everything else. It wasn't an awful book, it was just generic, and after reading books 1 and 2 of the series, pointless. Since the whole plot of the book was "Will Anri find a dragon egg" and in books 1 and 2 .
Also, highly annoyingly, the whole last chapter of this book also appeared in book 1. What a down note to end the story on.
If this book were read before 1 and 2, it might have been more enjoyable? But it still seemed to lack the spark 1 and 2 had.

It really wasn't a bad story, I never considered DNFing it, it just wasn't as good as the other two.
