I`m children`s books author and illustrator. This is my story.

Hello, I’m a children’s books author and illustrator with 5+ years of experience and my name is Stacy Hall.

When I was a child, probably, like all children, I loved to draw. But I never thought that I would connect my life with an illustration. Besides, it seemed to me that I was not talented enough. And I thought that I would not be able to become an artist, much fewer a children’s books illustrator. In addition, the adults next to me often said that you can’t earn a living by drawing.

So my education should be serious. That’s why I got a law degree. And only at the age of 27, I realized that I have to do what I really like. I have to do what makes my heart beat faster. And for me, this favorite thing was drawing.


So the question arose, what do I want to draw? There was nothing that could stop me. I drew everything I saw and it brought incredible pleasure. But most of all, my soul lay for children’s illustrations. My heart belonged to funny and cute characters.

At the very beginning of my journey, I drew with a simple pencil on ordinary paper, but something was missing for me. So I realized that I want to try new traditional materials. I started to draw with watercolors, gouache and colored pencils, pastel crayons. Until now, illustrations made with traditional materials cause me delight and admiration. Perhaps in the near future, I will work as a children’s books illustrator that will be drawn with traditional materials.

Today I prefer to draw all my projects in digital art programs, and I get great pleasure from it. My main assistants are the tablet Wacom on which I draw in Photoshop. In addition, I often use an iPad and draw in the Procreate.

From illustrator to author
I have often had to work with the texts of children’s books from different authors from different countries. Each story was interesting and unique in its own way, they were different topics. And I became interested in the process of writing a book. How is the idea born, how is the story and its characters born!? I have read a lot on this topic, watched videos of famous authors. And my desktop book in this was the educational book “Writing picture books” from the wonderful and talented author Ann Whitford Paul with a lot of experience. At one point I realized that my knowledge was enough and decided to write my first children’s book. Of course, all the illustrations in this book are also made by me. So I became an author and illustrator of children’s books.

For me it’s more than children’s books
I create characters and stories that will leave a mark on your heart. Each character is like a small child for me, who acquires his own unique character with each page turned over. My characters get into different situations, solve their problems, make decisions and get their experience. Therefore, they will be interesting to you and your children. I will be very glad if my books make you smile.

I kept a copy of Sam the Bear and his Dream in my classroom library and I have a Kindle eBook copy I used with the classroom projector system, so the children could see all the pictures as I read the story to them.

Sam has a dream to become a sailor and his friends discouraged him until he visite a hare that had been a sailor. The hare became his teacher and after studing he reached his dream. This is a good lesson for young children so they learn to problem solve and reach their dreams and goals with hard work.

Lovely book with a great message

Me and my daughter have really enjoyed reading your book.It shows how with perseverance,patience and hard work,someone in this case the bear can fulfill his dreams.I think it is a great message for kids who often get discouraged very easily.I would recommend the book to those who had lost hope or feel low

Dream Big!

1 star because it's not free for prime members

I give 1 star because it's not free for prime members when they have a kindle. All books should be free some parents don't let their children watch television I want those parents. For amazon prime and an author of a book to be so greedy as to not let a prime member who owns a kindle download a book for free is quite Pathetic And aborant 🙄

Some parents cannot afford to buy every single book that their children sees my kids want every single book that they see so for me to be paying for prime and not getting free books is super annoying. I guess that's the name of the game though is money money money that's all that matters is money.

But yeah we have an author writing children's books and amazon selling them and everybody cares about the children right?

Too cute

A book about encouragement. I love that even though Bear is big and clumsy, mouse encourages him to go for what he wants. A beautiful read and great illustrations for my little girl to follow along at bed time.

A sweet little story of a bear who wants to become a sailor. All his friends tell him that he is too big and clumsy. I didn’t understand the part about the sweet tooth. I didn’t see anything in the story about that.
