When he’s sent to Arizona to recruit more help for the Alliance, Logan doesn’t expect to find himself in the middle of a murder scene… or to become the number one suspect. Determined to escape and find the true killer, he takes Elena hostage to break free of the hunter compound.
Elena ran away from the hunter way of life eight years ago, but that doesn’t mean her hatred toward vampires lessened over time. When she finds herself at the mercy of one, she must decide if he truly is an enemy or if she can trust him.
But just as things come together, and Elena and Logan are learning to trust one another, a bigger threat emerges.
As hunters become the enemy, and everything they know unravels, can they stop what is coming… or is it already too late? ***The Alliance Series is a spin-off of the Vampire Awakenings series. You do not have to read the Vampire Awakenings Series to follow the Alliance Series.
Due to violence, language, and sexual content this book is recommended for readers 18+***
Brenda K. Davies is the USA Today Bestselling author of the Vampire Awakening Series, Alliance Series, Road to Hell Series, Hell on Earth Series, and historical romantic fiction. She also writes under the pen name, Erica Stevens. When not out with friends and family, she can be found at home with her husband, son, dogs, cat, and horse.
I was so excited to hear that Logan was getting his own story so I could learn more about his life and history. I have always liked him and wanted him to find his mate and get to experience the happiness that some of the others have found. While in Arizona looking for new recruits to help fight the Savages, Logan meets his mate and as fate would have it, she hates him (well to be fair she hates all vampires). And to top it off she thinks he is a murderer. Elena was raised in the Alliance but left years ago and lost contact with her father. Now she is back and has made amends with him and is working towards becoming close to him again when tragedy strikes. All fingers point to Logan and Asher. When forced to run for their lives, Logan grabs Elena and takes her hostage. Asher thinks he is crazy for taking her, Logan thinks she will be their insurance policy to help them get away safely. Question is, how will they get away from the compound and to safety with no vehicle, no nearby towns, and a bunch of angry Hunters on their tails. Jump in and read their adventure to find out just what kind of horrors they will need to face along the way and let their romance unfold. Elena doesn’t have a clue how much her life is about to change. This book was phenomenal, full of action, suspense, fear, and romance! If you have not started the Alliance series yet and you love vampire stories that are not just your typical vampire stories, I suggest you get book 1 and start reading, you will not be disappointed. If you have started the series but have not started this book yet, WHAT are you waiting for??
I got this book in return for my honest review this review is completely mine
I have read all of Brenda’s books each one has always had me reading late in to the night and this one was no different I just couldn’t stop reading! It does end on cliffhanger but that just makes you more excited for the next book!
Elena is the daughter of a Hunter leader when she finds him dead she immediately thinks it’s the vampires that are at the compound but she learns sometimes things are not what they seem and the truth always comes out
Logan was visiting at one of the hunter compounds in Arizona when the lead hunter was killed. Logan and Asher must escape as they are now being blamed for his death after kidnapping Elena and getting away they soon learn there’s bigger danger coming their way and they must figure out how to stop it.
Elena must figure out if Logan is the enemy or maybe something more
I love the original Vampire Awakening series and love this spin off Alliance series. I actually think the Alliance series is my favorite since they are battling bigger forces.
That being I had mixed feelings about this book.

I love the dynamics of haters to lovers, so Elena being an untrusting hunter and thus falling for Logan, I like the internal battle. I don't think enough focus was on the demons/savages/injections and I hate open endings, I wish we had more of a resolution for this book while still continuing on the story. I kind of foresaw it coming, but thought it would have happened earlier in the book and then the mating bond could have cured it, but that didn't happen and the open ending leaves me wondering and waiting which I hate. It also jumped over the mating part, and I love that part so I'm a little disappointed that was missing from this one. I don't the whole ending of the book seemed a little rushed with the jumping over the mating bond and the open ending. I still love the overall story but feeling unfilled and hope that gets resolved in the next book some.
Not bad. Not great. Not memorable enough to remember the main characters names by the time I am getting to this review, I’m sorry to say. Just enough quality to keep me reading/listening while I’m getting my chores done.
Listened to the Audible Audiobook. I am only leaving a review here, not on Audible, as I refuse to type out two reviews when Amazon owns both companies and refuses to link Audible to Goodreads.
Brilliant, phenomenal, 5 stars all the way! I was so excited to hear that Logan was getting his own story so I could learn more about his life and history. I have always liked him and wanted him to find his mate and get to experience the happiness that some of the others have found.
Prepare to be enchanted by one of the best vampire series
Bound by Deception is seventh book in the Alliance series and should be read after the previous six.
Hop in with Logan and Elena as they take a journey into the storm that shakes up their beliefs and throws them into romance-landia territory.
Brenda K Davies is my go-to for paranormal romance. There is just something about this series that never lets me down when I NEED a phenomenal paranormal fix. I’ve been an avid reader since the very first book and when I say the Alliance world keeps getting better, I truly mean it.
Davies is master of storytelling and knows how to evoke every emotion possible - this story is proof of that. I enjoyed it from the beginning till I turned the last page (although you feel a LOT of emotions). You cannot put it down once you start reading it. Their characters are so well developed; you just fall in love with them.
Bound by Deception is sure to become another BKD unputdownable fan favourite. Without a doubt a MUST READ of 2021.
This book delivers on so many levels. The intricate world building continues to set my imagination alight as we discover new hidden secrets; revealing more questions. My emotions were pulled in all directions: my heart went from exploding with joy to being shattered.
5 stars seems really inadequate and I don’t seem to be able to find words to accurately describe how perfect it was. The storyline and the characters come together in one hell of a story that solidify Davies as an amazing author, who always deliver an amazing story!
I have so many questions now … Like seriously, what just happened? I can’t BELIEVE it ended like that!!!
All I can say is DOWNLOAD NOW! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!
*Spoiler* This book does have triggering content such as violence, death and homelessness.

So this picks up where book 6 ended. With Logan and Asher discovering the body of the AZ compound leader dead and his daughter looking at them as if they did it. Of course as things progress you learn who really killed Alejandro. And those killers are brought to justice via firing squad.
So now we have a crime solved and a budding relationship between Logan and Elena, Alejandro’s daughter, brewing. And literally there is still over half the book left. So you know things were of course going to get it poppin.
But first back to Logan and Elena. Because Logan has not always been a vampire but was born a hunter he doesn’t immediately recognize the signs of a mate. Though it seems even the born vampires don’t always recognize the signs either. At least the guys don’t. But once he does he allows things to progress to the point of no return. And instead of giving Elena the chance to choose as the guys always seem to want to do. It becomes more of a “you have to join me or I’m going to need to be killed” type of a situation. But in the end she joins him.
And even though this is Logan and Elena’s book this new “serum” that the savages are injected a hunter with, first at AZ compound and then at the Alliance compound, is doing something awful and crazy. And it kind of over shadows things, especially as things wrap up for book 7. Something no one was expecting or even remotely prepared for. Which leads me to my closing.
Usually all the stories end with an HEA for the couple even if not for the overall world that has been built. But this one did not. You get left with hope but that’s it. Nothing more than that. And I loved it. I loved not getting the usual happy ending. And I look forward to see what becomes of Logan and Elena and who this mysterious Brie is.
What the heck???? Ok. I have so much to say right now. This books took a whole different angle in story line. It wasn't all sexual tension things as the others. It had focus points, it had the couple, crap happening on the compounds, a whole new dilemma, mystery, and I appreciated not having the female drama some of the other books had. Actually I may have said it before, did this author write all the books. Does anyone else notice it was just a different writing style. This book although wordy in some chapters it came more from the female point of view than the male for one and it was filling in gaps, while at the same broading the future of the books.
This single book turns the entire future story into a "what's going to happen now?" is there a future here. With so many unexpected losses, characters that were in the background being loss, it brings the reality that "shit just hit the fan". Things are "real", good guys get hurt too and there is no present answers and as I see it doesn't look promising.
I am almost weary of reading the next book as the one after isn't out and i know i am going to get frustrated wondering what's next. With that said I will wait awhile before I begin.
You know how you feel when characters in a book or show/movie (or even people you know in real life) are obviously meant to be together but they seem determined to ignore the signs and deny the truth? "Just tell her already" or "Just get together" are repeating thoughts in my head while reading! That’s exactly how Logan & Elena’s story made me feel. One raised to hate what the other is, only because he chose life or death, and the other denying what he suspects is the true nature of their “subtle” attention to each other. Both of them determined to remain the same until forced to acknowledge the magnetism between them. This story also seems to have a little bit of a mad scientist/evil genius sci-fi feeling and I’m curious to know what the heck is going on with the Demons and Savages. Totally did NOT expect the ending, but who doesn’t love a good plot twist or cliffhanger?? As tensions rise and a sense of foreboding is building, I look forward to Asher’s story and seeing what happens next in what I expect will result in an epic battle to save humanity and the Alliance.
This book was so action-packed and full of suspense, and I loved that!
I don’t always love the enemies-to-lovers trope, but it was so well done in this book. Elena and Logan were the epitome of that couple in books and movies, even in real life, that you just know should be together. But there are so many things in the way of that happening. Logan was once a hunter, now a vampire. Elena was raised to be a hunter, to hate all things vampire. For her, that made Logan a conundrum… how could a former hunter live with himself as a vampire, the thing they’d been raised to hate? Watching her come to realize that the hate isn’t really necessary was a beautiful thing to read.
There was a bit of a “mad scientist” vibe in this book, which led to the entire conflict of the novel. It lent a lovely air of suspense to the story, adding to the action. It was so twisty and turny, and that kept me turning the pages. The foreboding built throughout the book, and didn’t end at the conclusion!
Elena and Logan took a while to grow on me.. He takes her as a hostage initially but he soon realises she is something unexpected… his mate.. He helps her find the hunters who killed her father.. But before he could tell her what she is to him one of the hunters is attacked while on patrol.. he is injected.. soon more hunters are injected and none survived.. Ronan calls and calls them home.. Logan tells Elena she is his mate.. she is shocked initially but Elena goes with them.. and they fly home. At the airport Asher is approached by a woman, telling him his home is surrounded by death and destruction and to evacuate everyone.. But she runs away.. Logan changes Elena and they are blissfully happy until the compound is attacked by hundreds of savages.. Elena is injected during the attack.. No no no no You can’t be serious! This is how you are going to leave us readers hanging… for almost a year!

I was very excited to see that Logan got a book. After what he went through with Kadence, it was good to see him find his mate. I actually despised Elena when we first met her. She hated Logan for what he was based on her upbringing. That quickly change though. The new addition of these injections added a twist to the story and more to battle for the Alliance. I love how Brenda jumps right into battles and adds excitement and page turning scenes at the beginning of her books sometimes. We also got a very intense battle towards the end. I don’t know how I feel about the fate of Logan and Elena based off the events at the end, but it does add an intriguing aspect to their story. So we do not technically get a happily ever after in this book, but I believe or hope that we will in the next one. This was a great read, and the writing was excellent. I’m definitely looking forward to Asher’s story and hopefully a conclusion to Logan and Elena’s situation.
Let me start by saying that I could not put this book down. Bound by Deception was captivating, raw, emotional, and I adored the crap out of this book. Together, Logan and Elena were a force to be reckoned with. If the author does the story right, you feel an emotional connection with these characters and Brenda does not disappoint. With Bound by Deception, you feel all the feels and actually forget that you are reading a book. You get to know the characters so well that you hear their voices instead of just reading words on paper. The book was amazing and I cannot wait for more books from this author. Well done Brenda!! One click this amazing read to start your obsession with Brenda K. Davies books!!
Oh what a ride. I just knew Logan’s book would be special.
Logan finally finds his mate but the circumstances are dire to say the least. Elena. A vampire Hunter. Has feelings for Logan but not the ones he wants. No. She despises him. A Hunter turned Vampire. No way and to top it all he is the number one suspect for the murder of her father. Elena is one strong female character. I love her. She stands her ground. She’s fierce and loyal. Logan does everything he can to prove his innocence. He even takes Elena against her will. However he needs to survive so must do what he has to. This book is one of the most exciting reads I read this year. Absolutely loved it. Can’t wait for more from this amazing Author

Apart from loving this entire series, all I can say about this book in particular is amazing. Brenda K. Davies draws you into the world of these characters in such a special way. I felt Logans pain. Burned with Elena’s fire and fell in love once again with a much loved series. This book took us to the highest of highs with Logan finally finding his mate to the lowest of lows with…. HA! Bet you thought I was going to tell you. Well no spoilers here. A must read as Asher and Logan find themselves with a hostile group of Hunters, while trying to help and clear their name. To Logan finding his mate and the craziness that ensued.
Once I started reading Logan and Elena's story, I couldn't put it down! The suspense, action and unknown kept me on my toes with tears in my eyes. Earlier in the series, I was always a little wary when it came to Logan (I'm team Ronan and Kadence). After hearing his story and learning about his struggles (and his love of chocolate). How can he not hold a little piece of your heart! Oh, sweet Elena such a brave, strong and courageous woman. I loved getting to know her and I can't wait to find out what the future holds for The Alliance and all it's members.
First off, I’ve loved Logan since he got his head out of his butt. I was elated to find out he was getting his own book. I knew he’d need someone just as strong willed as he was and Elena was perfect.
I loved the development of their relationship throughout the book, and I swooned at each of their special moments.
The storyline itself was epic and this one part left me in my feelings. I don’t want to spoil much about this book. What I will tell you is to buckle up. You’re in for a crazy ride.
Logan and Elena’s is a story of true love and it just blew me away! I didn't even know if I liked Logan in previous books, but now he may be my favorite! This story was even more than I expected, and I have loved this whole series. I could not put this book down. From start to finish it was full of suspense, romance, humor (who knew wedgies were such effective weapons?!😂) and shocking surprises. Above all, though, this is a story of two souls who grow to love and cherish each other beyond reason…to the point it might make you cry.
OMG, is one thing I am feeling after reading this amazing book!!! I have been a huge fan since book 1 in Vampire Awakening and crossing over to the Alliance. I always hoped Logan would get his own book after what happened between him and Kadence. This book did not disappoint. There was action, suspense, loss, heartbreak, love and a plot for revenge. I am stunned with that phenomenal ending but can't wait for Asher's book to see how this all plays out and if the Alliance finds some answers. I highly recommend this series!!!!!
Logan and Elena's story started off great but then I felt like it dragged on without anything really happening. But the newest development with the savages will leave you speechless and the catastrophic battle will leave you heartbroken. It really annoyed how prejudice Elena was towards vampires. But glad she got over herself and realized how great Logan was. He was a very patient and understanding man. Now I can't wait to read Asher's story. If his love interest is the girl who warned him of the future then I can't wait for that story to unfold.
There are not enough words. I was happy Logan found his mate. And what a phenomenal woman she is. She is strong and fierce. Logan gave her everything she needed and more. They both truly deserved each other. And what is going on with the demons and savages? I could not stop reading this page turner. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was nail biting worthy. I am now anxiously awaiting the next book.
Once again Brenda has captivated us with a beautiful couple. I was so happy to see that Logan finally found his one and only; his mate. She is fierce, strong and independent. She doesn’t want to give in even when she starts to have feelings for him. This book will keep you enthralled, you’ll have to stay up turning the pages. There is action, adventure and all the feels you usually get from a Brenda K. Davies book.
What a story… What a couple What a wild action-adventure
So this is an author I absolutely adore, her books are a Must-Read for me and I was so excited to read Logan and Elena’s story. Vampires and Hunters they shouldn’t work together, right??? But it seems the more they do work together the more it’s seems they were always meant to… Savages and demons need to be taken out they are getting stronger so vampires and hunters need to come together to take them out.
OMG!!! This book was absolutely AMAZING!!!! I could not put it down!! Elena and Logan’s story is becoming one of my favorites. It’s hard to express how much I loved this book without giving things away. I will say this, the ending will surprise you and it’s one of the most intense cliffhangers but I know it will be well worth it. Anxiously waiting for the next book!!! LOVED IT!!!!
Logan and Elena's story is much like Brenda's writing in other books, absolutely swoon worthy! A strong willed female, who's character is amazingly well developed. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and turning pages! However, it ends on a huge cliff hanger. Which, I am not usually a huge fan of, but, it makes me want the next book all that much more. If you love vampires, romance, angst, and twisty turny plots, you need to get your hands on this series.
This has really ramped up the story, new afflictions, action, suspense, intrigue, drama, violence, murder, loss, hurt, revelations, chemistry, passion, love and shock. Loved Logan found a strong, feisty mate and that it was not a simple storyline. The obstacles they have to over come and the journey just got more complicated, as all out war has found the alliance.
This book gets to you, definitely had me gasping at parts. The war continues in this one. The Alliance is trying to figure out how to control what is happening with the savages and demons. There's more setbacks then gains. This book has action, suspense, and love. We get to see characters from previous books too. I can't wait for the next book to see how this will all play out.
