A top-secret island off the coast of Russia unexplainably goes dark. Two governments are on high alert, both condemning the other. Two agents, Sara and Dima, are assigned to investigate. What they discover are the barbarities of war come to life. Who will reign supreme?
This book is interesting and engaging. It pulls the reader in from the first page. Matrosov island is literally very mysterious. I loved the different unusual elements that were present on the island. All the unusual element ranging from killer robots to blobs of water that can drown a person, were very well thought through and made the mystery a lot more enjoyable.
I loved the two characters Dima and Sara, and I especially loved the banter between the two, which was not only sarcastic but was also super funny.
One things that didn’t work for me were, the fact that the characters formed a bond way too quickly. By bond I mean friendship. Given the fact that both of these characters are on there own missions and are from governments that have very different principles from each other, developing a bond would have required something very drastic to happen. But this wasn’t the case.
All in all, I enjoyed this book.

A shortish novel (I read in two sittings) but, for all that, full of action, twists, turns and unexpected antagonists.
East meets West, girl meets boy, reality meets wonderment, the story of an island where experiments in warfare have taken place, some have gone wrong and two governments want to know why the island has stopped communicating with the outside world.
Dima and Sara, sent by different governments, need to find answers either individually or together.
An exciting story with the prickle of will they won't they, a fantasy element along with the fighting of fantastical beings, this novel has everything packed into a short novel.
A good read and also an introduction into the other writings of this couple of authors where later books keep the drama, excitement and love interest.
I really enjoyed Secrets of Matrosov Island! This is my first time reading a book in the erotic mystery genre.
The story has a great pace which grips you from start to finish! I particularly liked the dynamic between Sara and Dima as well as some interesting elements to the mystery island!
A short but fast-paced story, East meets West in the agency of Dima and Sara to sort out the trouble caused when an island location used to conduct research into new methods of warfare suddenly goes dark, communication-wise. It turns out that the experiments have gone very wrong indeed, making space for our heroes to combat weird zombie-like creatures, killer slime and methods by which people can drown on dry land.
A good fun read, fantastical happenings and even a bit of ‘love interest’. Five stars for ingenuity.
I enjoyed this book very much. Its a nice quick read and fast paced with interesting characters. A male Russian and a female CIA agent meet on Matrosov Island where the situation forces an allience between sworn enemies. Not only was this entertaining, I think it sends a great message. If two people from opposing nations can set aside their differences and form an allience, then there is hope for us all.
Looking for a bit of military, a bit of sci-fi, a bit of sexual tension and spice? This book has it all. It's a gripping tale of CIA agent and KGB agent vs the horrifying sci-fiesq experiments on an island suddenly gone dark. As the two become closer understanding replaces distrust and romantic tensions begin to rise. I only wish the book was longer.
I really enjoyed this short story, whilst the pages were on 70 in total, the story really punched its weight. The author found a good dynamic between Sara and Dima. it reminded me of the cold war but the geography and reasons Matrosov Island is used gave it originality. recommended for a good short read.
The main characters betray their countries to work together, but that's ok; they're on a very strange and dangerous island. It turns to sex and then ends suddenly, as the first chapter of the next book is longer than a third of this one, and I think they should warn you of both. The plot is good, it moves along, and it is easy to read.
I really enjoyed the suspense in this story. It kept me excited to read more. I really enjoyed the relationship between Sara and Dima. They made a great team. And I really loved how strong Sara was. And of course I enjoyed how they were able to succeed and create relationship together.

A short story that’s packed with action from the onset. When Matrosov Island (containing a secret soviet facility) falls off the grid, both Russia and US send agents there to investigate. What they find is a horror and they must fight for survival. The story is fast-paced as they explore the island and try to work out what has happened. Throw in a bit of love and snappy dialogue and you have the makings of an exciting novella. It’s well told and a page-turner in every sense. Though, it would be nice were it longer and the action is more drawn out.
I liked this story. The author has done a good job in packing this relatively short book with lots of great story building and relationship development. It did keep my interest and was an easy read. Only slight issue I had was the formatting. For me it felt staggered and made it tough for me to get into a nice flow. That could just be personal preference though. Overall a solid read
This is a short but action packed book that keeps you gripped right till the end. The fun-loving relationship between the two main characters grows as they tackle various obstacles together throughout their journey to achieve the main objective set. Fast paced, punchy little number which is a must read for all.
This book has you going from the very beginning with it's fast pace that doesn't slow down. The characters are well thought out but wish the book was a little longer so that the storyline didn't feel like it was crammed into a short pace. Apart from that, a great story. Well done.
A great quick read full of action from the first page. This sci-fi novella has everything including a bit of love interest between two agents and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It would be interesting to see how they progress in the future and if their paths cross on future missions.
Another great treat I have read from this author. Plenty of action all the way through that had me interested. Very well done. Sara and Dima are such interesting characters that kept me interested until the end. It was well done...but all I wish was the book being longer! If I could I would give this book 4.5/5 stars. I hope the author writes more and continues this! Well done!
This short story is fantastic with two agents from opposite sides joining together in this fast paced novel. Sometimes two different sides have to work together for the greater good. I hope there is more operations that force them together again. Really good read.
This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it immensely. The characters Dima and Sara had a great connection between them and the author portrays a mysterious environment that sucks you right in. A highly enjoyable read!
As they say great things come in short packages and this book is a fine example of the old adage. The story starts of at the heart of the action and ends on a thrilling note as well. There is no filler. It’s like one big roller coaster ride of thrills.
So this was my first erotic mystery and I'm glad I picked it up. It was action packed from the beginning to the end and it certainly packed a punch. I'm so glad I picked this book up!
The island was weird to the millionth degree. There were orange- looking slime creatures & zombie cats. The hallucinations of dead relatives were no walk in the park either. This island will not be a person's dream vacation spot.
This is quite a short book, and a rather erotic one at that. Intriguing characters in an engaging story. I look forward to reading more from these authors. Good stuff
