Turn It Up #4

Where You Are

Rate this book
Matt

I feel like I’m on top of the world.

My rock band has taken off, I get paid to do what I love, and my home life is stable and peaceful.

And yet, it feels like something is missing.

Then my world is rocked when my bandmate’s sister Melanie returns from her globetrotting adventures.

There’s always been something about her… and now that she’s back, sparks fly whenever we’re together.

After weeks of building something together I thought would last a lifetime, she vanishes.

She’s gone without a word, leaving me nothing but a hole in my heart and questions I may never get the answers to.

Melanie

Seeing all the wonders this world has to offer is the second greatest thing I’ve ever done with my life.

The first? Falling in love with Matt, my brother’s best friend and bandmate.

Despite the crush I’d always had on him, I couldn’t let anything get in the way of my desire to travel the world.

Now that I’m back, I want nothing more than to stay right here with him for the rest of my life.

That is until I am forced to leave again.

My biggest fear is that Matt will think he wasn’t enough, when in reality, he is everything.

With the turn of a dial, Natalie Parker has cranked the volume all the way up on her series delivering a love story so epic it will stay with you long after the last page is read. Where a once in a lifetime love is found and everything worth fighting for because, the greatest experiences in life can only happen with the right person and be wherever they are...

Like every great love song, Matt and Melanie's story is a beautiful melody of exquisite highs and devastating lows. A dazzling concert of emotions that you will not only read but, feel deep within your heart and soul. It's a slow burn that is intimate and intense leaving you with so many feels!

Matt is the type of man you fall for. He's level-headed, sweet, chivalrous, and Alpha in an understated way. A gentleman on the outside and a bit of a dirty talking bad boy on the inside. Trust me when I say you are going to love him!

Melanie has always been a bit of a mystery throughout this series. As her character is slowly revealed, you will discover the beautifully radiant soul that she is. When a dark secret from her past threatens everyone she loves, Melanie is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice. She endures a heartbreaking circumstance and you'll want to champion her strength and courage by the end of this story.

Told over three parts, Matt and Melanie's story will take you on a epic journey of love, heartbreak, pain, forgiveness, and healing. The emotions are real, raw, and written with an honest sincerity. Despite the complete emotional havoc this book put me through, I found the angst and drama to be utterly compelling and some of my favorite parts in this story. Appearances by Turn It Up's favorite couple Jack, Mayzie, and the bands funny man Chris just added the perfect touches to this amazing story.

I can't possibly go on until I address a new and intriguing character to enter this series. Ben is a character that comes out of nowhere and has such an amazing presence. I can't wait to see what's in store for him as this series continues.

This is a book that stands apart from the others in this series. It was EVERYTHING I could hope for and SO MUCH MORE! An epic journey that left me blissfully satisfied and was SO WORTH the wait!

Natalie Parker...GIRL YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! I was moved beyond words over Matt and Melanie's story! It was so beautiful and brought tears to my eyes! There was also, a NFW/OMG moment there that had me shouting in complete surprise! I have nothing but ABSOLUTE LOVE for this series and it's characters and what you delivered was so BEYOND my expectations! Thank you for such an incredible story ❤

If you can't already tell by my gushing review already, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND putting this book on your TBR and doing it NOW! You'll so thank me later 😘

Had trouble sleeping last night, so as you do, I flipped on my Kindle and found that my preorder of Where You Are had landed.

"Cool," I thought, as I'd been waiting impatiently for this instalment. And so I thought I'd read a couple of chapters to cheer myself up because insomnia sucks. Was wide awake for the rest of the night, reading solidly, and finished around the time I should have been starting work!

I've spent the day with a massive book hangover and bags under my eyes like I'm heading to Tijuana for a dirty weekend with "equipment".

Thanks so much, NATALIE!

On with my review of the actual book. OH MY GOD! This is a departure into fully emotional, all-of-the-feels territory, and bloody hell it worked! I really feel like Natalie Parker has found her voice more and more as each book drops. I instantly wanted to start again and the twist had me ranting at my Kindle in shock because I genuinely did not see it coming! Bravo!

Rock stars have always been my weakness. There is just something about them that draws me in like a moth to a flame.
Having said that, I am very particular about the rock star books I read.
I have never read anything from Natalie before but when I read the excerpt to Where You Are, I immediately needed more. I got so excited to finally get to experience a new musical world!
From the first page I was drawn in. Melanie and Matt....lord have mercy, the chemistry between those two is amazeballs!
Matt is so swoon worthy! You will fall in love with him right from the beginning. Melanie is such a strong woman for enduring what she does in the story. (No spoilers from me..you will have to read it)
Natalie really created a perfect world of characters and I can't wait to find out more!

P.S. When you do read it....Ben will be the character you want to know so much more about!!! I highly recommend this book and just know...you will regret not reading it!

**ARC Review **

This book felt like foreplay. Every page felt like preparation and anticipation. Matt and Melanie keep one another breathing with every kiss. They are rhythm and beauty. When they make love they finally savor one another, breaking for one another, and healing one another.

They just give you goosebumps. Matt is the type that when he kisses you he cradles your face, your head, he makes out with you and your whole body. He talks to you in bed, he wants to stay up all night and get to know you, he is truly the man of your dreams. ;)

He is in the famous rock band Turn it Up. A low key ,sexy, good, honest man. There was always a connection there, a spark between him and Melanie. She is the sister to Jack, who sings for the band. Melanie traveled the world, loves her family, fulfilling her childhood dream, returning home and reconnecting with Matt.

It is a beautiful love story that held me attention from start to finish. The author teases you from the start, she wants you to fall for Matt and Melanie. She wanted us to get seduced and then something unexpected happens. It hurt. I hated someone, but it shined a light on the importance of not feeling shame and at forgiving yourself when it was not yourself to blame. The longing and heartbreak I took hard, no matter where they were, I only ever saw them, M & EM together.

Fall in love with Where you Are, it will show you the strength we have within ourselves to get the love we deserve.

“I want you. I want you so bad Mel.”
“Take me...
“Right after I worship the fuck out of you.”

“I swear, everyday you show me a new reason to be crazy about you.”

“We’re you watching me sleep again?”
“Damn right I was.”

(And I am seriously wondering about a certain broody, Mr. Personality?)

This is a rockstar brothers best friend second chance insta attraction romance (yes it’s a tongue full but it has it all). You meet Melanie after exploring the world. Her sister Sarah organizes a welcome home party for her and invites her brothers band who Matt is the bass player and from there on these two ooze chemistry but it goes deeper. The more time they spend together the more they realize they are each other’s other half but these two keep it to themselves because it’s far too soon to share. When Melanie is put in a really damaging situation and leaves without a word, can their love survive and will their love be strong enough to return to where they were.

i laughed, swooned, fanned myself from the delicious scenes, left in utter shock and my heart broken for them but by the end i had a huge smile on my face.

This book has all the feels and you’ll want to devour it like I did. This is the third book in the series but can be read as a standalone.

I betad for this book but I would gladly read anything Natalie writes, she’s a talent that people need to give a go.

First off...Matt Conlin; holy hotness. I just found my new book boyfriend. A hot, tattooed, Rockstar who just wants his forever girl. Where do I sign up? In all seriousness, I am new to Ms Parker and I was not disappointed. This is a stand-alone book in series called "Turn It Up". I've read a few other reviews that stated they felt they needed the previous books and they felt something was missing but I 100% disagree. The storyline flowed well, so well that once I started it, I had to finish it. I hadn't read the previous books but I will now.
The forbidden brother's best friend/friends to lovers/second chance trope is so wonderfully written. Melanie, a world traveler has decided to come home. Matt, her brother's best friend and band mate has been waiting for this day for years. The friendship and slow burn romance that ensues is HOT! There are a twists and turns along that add to the book and keep you on your toes. The emotions and heartbreak from doing what you think is right for your family and living with those sacrifices were almost too much. I laughed, I swooned, I grabbed a few tissues, but more than anything I rooted for these two...End of the day, sometimes home isn't a place but rather a person. Is Matt Melanie's home? Read the book and find out!

This series, oh my, this series. They just keep getting better and better and I just keep falling in love with new book boyfriends and Matt is my newest.

Hes had his eye on Melanie for a few years and decides hes gonna just go for it now that shes decided to come back home after traveling the world. He is just so ALL OF IT, hes open, honest, sweet, swoony, sexy and a little bit nasty, and best of all, vulnerable. You just have to love a guy who lays it all on the line.

Melanie, shes home and shes open to finding what her younger brother Jack and Mayzie have. She too has been giving the side eye to Matt and they decide to see where things go. We get all the feels of this new love that they're so open to.

But of course being a Natalie Parker book it cant be all sunshine, rainbows and unicorns. There has to be a glitch somewhere and man that glitch is HUGE. Nastiness from the past oozes back into their lives that just might forever affect their future and spread that poison to their most dearest.

There were so many awwwwwww moments and some WTF moments and then some why cant they just die moments. But the HEA is worth all the stress and angst to get there.

Natalie if you read this, I really need closure on that nastiness I mentioned. I need a where are they now, definitive, the end moment for that.

Oh Matt you have my heart...!! He made me swoon.
I Absolutely LOVED this story By Natalie Parker,it got me tied up in all kinds of emotional knots,my feelings were in turmoil.
I had the butterflies in my tummy reading about Matt and Melanies unstoppable attraction and the new love they found...Then I had the anxiety when certain forces kept them apart,I was so nervous because alls I wanted was for them to be together.
A Best friends sister romance,Matt is the Bass player in the same band Melanie's brother Jack is in and he has had a thing for Mel for a very long time. So when she returns from travelling the world,He takes his chance and decides he wants to get close to her, and the feelings are mutual for Mel also. She was done with exploring the world and now wanted to settle down and start a family of her own.
Their chemistry was electrifying and they had a connection that was hard to explain, and so they could become acquainted with eachother without any criticism or outside influence their love affair was kept secret.
There is a whole lot more to this story than just boy meets girl, fell in love, the end..especially when the past has a way of coming back to destroy you....Natalie had me jumping through hoops with her words I could not get enough.
I cherished every single part of Matt and Melanies romance, emotional, funny, sweet and super sexy what more could you ask for.
It was Rockstar perfection.
An Excellent read that I Highly Recommend.
5 glowing Stars.

I have been dying to get Melanie and Matt's story since December. Which I guess isn't that long in the grand scheme of things but . . . I needed it. And it did not disappoint once I got my grabby hands on it. This second chance rock star book is very different than any I have read before. First, the rock star aspect is very low key and isn't that prominent in book and just like Jack in the first two books, Matt is really sweet and amazing. Second, you get to see all the phases, you see their initial relationship develop, a bit of their separation and then their second chance reconciliation. I really loved that aspect of this book a lot. My only wish is that the initial section was a bit shorter so that the reconciliation portion could have been longer. That portion felt rushed a bit for my taste. But overall I really enjoyed this book. Matt and Melanie are perfect together, they are opposites that balance each other perfectly. Both providing what the other was missing in life and supporting each other in all aspects. Super cute, low angst book with a plot twist that I did not see coming.

Oh My Heart & Emotions!!!! This beautifully written rockstar / brother's best friend / second chance romance story pulled at my heart strings and after reading the prologue that left me desperate for answers had me wanting to devour every word as quickly as possible.
Matt and Melanie's slow burn love story took me on an emotional journey about second chances, heartache, sacrifice, secrets, and fighting for your family and the kind of love that is soul deep.
The angst, the mystery, the twists, the steam, and the swoon worthy moments, had my heart equally aching and warming, and me praying these two would get their HEA, swooning, gasping when the twist hit, reaching for the tissues, and sitting on the edge of me seat desperate for answers. The beautiful epilogue left me with a warm and smiley heart!!!

Let me start by saying that this is the first book I've ever read by Natalie Parker, and I was really impressed with her writing style and storytelling. This one was emotional and angsty, and even had some suspense/mystery to it, which is right up my alley, so I was very pleasantly surprised. Although this was a rockstar romance, there really wasn't a lot about the band, or music in general, but it worked with the storyline.

I do plan on going back and reading the other books in this series, and I do recommend it.

I received a free copy of this book, and this is my honest review of Where You Are.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I absolutely loved it. I will admit I was slightly on edge a little bit. I just really wanted to know what happened! The connection that Melanie and Matt formed was so heartwarming. It was definitely a slow burn over years that made them want to really try for the real deal. I just loved it. This book is broken into 3 parts and my heart just ached for both of them in the second part. It was hard reading their pain!!

This book is part of a series and while you can read it as a stand-alone I kind of wish I had read both book 1 and 2 first. Getting Mazyie's take on the events that happened would have added to this story.

I loved both Matt and Melanie. They were a love destined to happen and I'm glad I got to enjoy their path to happily ever after, no matter how rough it was.

I love finding new authors and will definitely be checking out more of her work in the future. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

This was an amazing story I absolutely could not put it down. It gave me all the feels and took us through an emotional journey through their relationship that wasn’t all “Sunshine” and roses we do get a HEA in the end. It was beautifully written, the characters are amazing. I can not wait for the next book in the series.

Who doesn’t love a rockstar romance? Especially when it’s with your best fiend & band mates sister, who in pure Joey Potter style can’t stop running away from her heart.

The sparks between Matt & Melanie could light up a concert venue, she’s wanted him for years.

This story has so much heart, sometimes the reason people run isn’t what you think. 💛

A second-chance rockstar romance that I read in one sitting.

Where You Are is a cute, low angst book with great characters, a lovely romance and a plot twist that I did not see coming.
Off the charts chemistry, fun banter and hot hot hot steam! I kind of wish the music aspect would have been granted more spotlight since it is a rockstar romance but all in all, a very enjoyable read that made me crave for more. More music, more hot love, more of this author's books. :)

I’m a die hard Natalie Parker fan and have read all the Turn it Up series more than once. When she announced a new book in the series I knew it would be brilliant and she didn’t disappoint. This one is about Matt and Melanie, Jack’s sister. Having been traveling for years Melanie is home finally, Matt has always had a thing for her but never pursued it. The attraction between the two is off the charts until an evil aspect from previous books nearly destroys them. Finding their way back to each other and the ending was just fantastic, most certainly has an HEA. We still get to see the rest of the band throughout the book, which I love. Cannot wait for more in this series, brilliant author and a fantastic series.
I received this book as an arc in return for my honest opinion.

I'm so happy that this has released. This book has everything you could want - laughs, tears, a shocking twist (seriously, I gasped out loud as I read it), and all the sexy fun times you could want! Five stars, zero hesitation. I loved Matt and Melanie's banter, which leapt off every page, and they both have rich back stories that make them feel like real people whose motivations you understand and care about.

Matt and Melanie are so perfect together and the chemistry is so hot. I wasn't sure where the story was going but wow when it twists it really twists! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great love story with some drama mixed in!

*ARC Review*

I would first off like to thank Natalie Parker for the ARC in exchange for a review.

I gave this book a solid 5 out of 5 stars because of how amazing this book was. I enjoyed reading Matt and Melanie`s story. This was my first time reading a book by this author and I enjoyed it very much. Where You Are is the fourth book of the Turn It Up series but it could also be read as a standalone. Melanie is a young woman who comes back from traveling across the world and ends up coming home to live with her brother and his family. Her brother happens to be in a famous band along with his childhood friends. One of these friends happens to be Matt, her brother`s best friend and soon enough Melanie and Matt start to fall in love with each other.

What I love about this book was how much It was to see how the two main characters fall for each other and reading from their perspectives. There were many small moments in the story that I enjoyed reading and laughing aloud at some points but overall I would recommend this book to those who love a good contemporary romance. I loved how even though this is the 4th book of this series it is still standalone which means you can still read it as a solo book but you still have the option to read the other books in the series which is something I plan on doing. I love the style of writing and how each chapter was from both Matt and Melanie`s POV. This is a book you would read on a summers day and enjoy the love story and fun that goes along with it Recommend it 100%

Review to come ....I really enjoyed this story
Review Time of Where You Are by @natalie.parker.author
Rating 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my first book by this author. I haven't read any previous books in the series, and I am those types of readers that I kinda like to read books in order. ( I probably should have) But they are written to be read as a standalone!
I was really surprised by the twist of mystery and suspense that we get when you least expect it. This story does have its dose of angst and emotional ups and downs. Matt and Melanie are destined to be together, but destiny doesn't make it easy for them. They definitely steam up those sheets, and their chemistry is of the chains.
Matt is the sweetest guy around his niece.... OMG love it!
The he plays in a band, writes songs, Rock band element is there, but wasn't to much the focal point of the story, I kinda wish we had a little more of that....
We do get interactions with other characters from past books which I really enjoyed a lot. It's told in a dual POV, and it does switched from present, past to present. We do get our HEA, with no cliffhanger.
Overall I really enjoyed this book 🥰 I do recommend it.
Thank you so much to Natalie Parker for providing me an ARC. My review is given completely voluntarily.❤️

Omg I'm in 💘 with this book!!

Where You Are is the 4th book in the Turn It Up series and follows Matt (the bass player for the band) and Melanie (Jack's sister).
This story tugged so hard on my heartstrings. Melanie returns home from being abroad 2 years seeing the world. She's known Matt for several years and Matt has had a crush on her. But it's his best friends sister which is no-go territory... or is it? They secretly start dating and it becomes serious until Melanie's past literally comes back to threaten her. Forced to leave Matt and go back overseas, she's miserable and Matt doesn't understand why she left.

Regardless this book does have a HEA... YES!!! New characters are brought in... I can totally see Ben and Matt's sister getting together.

I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down. I love how parts of this story tied into events from the second book. I just loved everything!! Thank you Natalie for writing such a great series!! Can't wait until the next one!!!

I recieved an ARC for my honest review.

Natalie Parker has done an amazing job writing the fourth novel in the Turn It Up series. Where You Are invoked quite a few emotional responses in me as I was reading the novel. I was experiencing all the feels - laughing, frustration, sorrow, tearing-up, joy, and happiness throughout reading the novel. When this happens, I know the novel is ultimately going to be a great read. I think you will enjoy reading Where You Are as much as I did. One thing is for sure...I will definitely read it again. :-)

When I read the synopsis of this book I knew I just had to read it. I was hooked on this book from the very first page. Matt is just so swoon-worthy. I love the connection between him and Melanie. I Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and the twists that it contained.

I highly recommend reading this. Now I need to go back and read the beginning of the series

I enjoyed so much this story.

From the beginning it leaves you wanting to know what’s going on! The story goes back some time, but you’re never loss.
I was rooting for Matt and Melanie.
My heart was content and happy..... until it wasn’t it 😭😭 I can’t believe so much time passes between them!!
The story pulled me in, and at some scenes I found my self telling the characters ‘Don’t do it’!!!!!!

I’m so thankful for Chris character 💖💖 When you read the scene you would know for sure what I mean!

This is a new to me author and I cannot wait to read more of here!

I received an ARC of the story and this is my voluntary review.

Natalie Parker has delivered a very beautiful story one that is bound to stay with you and make a place for itself inside your heart. I totally dig Matt and Melanie as a couple after reading this story. One of the most beautiful romances ever. The fact that Matt and Melanie wanted to get to know and understand each other makes the romance even more swoon worthy. There is a slow burn element to this story, which keeps the reader engaged to know what happens next.

This story will pull at your heart strings and take you through a journey of emotions. I loved this book through and through.

Where You Are is a fantastic addition to the Turn It Up Series by Natalie Parker. I have been waiting for Matt’s book since meeting him in earlier in the series. This was a great brother’s best friend romance filled with so much emotion, heartache, and lots of swoon-worthy moments. This book has all the feels. I love the ease of Natalie’s writing style, it was easy to pick up the book and not want to put it down.
