A fitting second book in the series. It did not pack as many answers as I would have liked, sooo I'm headed to the last and final book in the series to see how this all ends.

I really enjoyed this book (even more than the first one). Seeing Verity go through her daily life on earth after her abduction (and dealing with the trauma of the aftermath) was a pleasant change of pace from book 1. I especially liked how Verity didn't come out of book 1 completely unscathed and that she was put in a position to attend therapy sessions (something that should be more normalized in society and not seen as an act of weakness). Though I kind of expected the twist behind why she was abducted, I feel it was a satisfactory explanation that made complete sense. However, I didn't expect a certain character's involvement with the aliens or another's death. Overall, I can't wait for book 3.

This book is the second in the Stellar Blood trilogy, the first being Bitter Blood.

Wow, this book is so crazy good. There will be spoilers so please don't read the review if you haven't read the book:) but I loved the way this book went. There is so much potential in the third book and I can't wait to read it when it releases.

The story continues about a month after Bitter Blood ends, and we learn a whole lot about where Knox is and the secret technological gear that he has. Verity is mutating and she has become super speedy and strong. The book concludes in such a way that I was jumping up and down in my seat when I was reading.

I don't know how to put my thoughts into words but it was so good. I've been enraptured by these characters and I don't want anything bad to happen to them.

👽🛸🌎 AN AMAZING SUITE !

Verity is back with her father, a senior military commander.

She was recently abducted and interrogated by... aliens.
She doesn’t know why.

Verity has discovered new skills that she wants to keep a secret...

-------------

It wasn’t until page 25 of the book that I remembered the plot of the previous book one .
It brought me back to the fascinating story of the mysterious Verity and the very enigmatic alien Knox.

I barely put down this volume 2, the story is incredible , the end is unexpected and incredible !

I can’t wait to read more in volume 3 ! 🧡

Received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!

Rating: 4/5

WOW, this book was good. I watch Zara on YouTube and jumped at the opportunity to read one of her works. At first, I was apprehensive about reading a novel about an alien abduction, but Zara writes this in such a unique and interesting way that I was immediately sucked into the story and what was happening.

There were some grammatical and formatting errors with the PDF copy I received but otherwise, I have nothing bad to say about this book and I'll be reading it again soon!

After managing to escape back to Earth, Verity had a whole new list of problems and people to deal with. What I loved about this sequel to Obscure Origin was the setting. In the first book, we are taken to an alien spaceship and the majority of the novel was spent learning about the characters and the alien species and its struggles while aboard the ship. In this novel, Verity is back home and in a massive pile of human and alien mess.

Through this book, we learn that while she may be back home, that doesn’t mean that her stay aboard Knox’s ship didn’t come with her. Not only does she have to deal with trying to get over her mental issues with being held captive, but she also struggles to understand what is happening with her very body.

I don’t want to give too much away, but the primary focus shifts from Obscure Origin in this book. Instead of learning about the aliens and what they need from humanity, we are instead focusing on Verity and her internal (and physical) struggles. We understand how she’s dealing with everything and her emotional journey through self-discovery.

And then Knox comes down to Earth, which opens a whole new can of worms.

The way the mental struggles are woven into this story is flawless. You follow Verity and Knox as it hits the fan in this super-fast read, leaving you wondering what happens next. Do Verity and Knox end up together? Who is human, and who is alien? Who did you-know-what? (you’ll know when you get to the chapter what I mean, and no, it’s not what you think) And will Verity’s father ever take a chill pill?! (less)
