Escape was only the beginning...Reviewer Praise for The Quantum
"Action packed from the very beginning and, quite frankly, hard to put down.""Outstanding techno-thriller for SF fans!""Jason Bourne meets Ghost in the Shell.""The best embodiment of what a robot culture looks like after fifty years that I have read.""Murdock has clearly done the solid scientific research to create a believable cyberpunk future and guide his plot through a myriad of twist and turns."
Ethan Price has discovered the staggering truth about who he really is. Now he’s on the run with a body that is turning against him and a woman who is more than she seems. They’re quickly discovering that escape was only the beginning... Because some lives come looking when you try to walk away.
With the world’s most powerful government agency and the world’s most powerful robotic weapons manufacturer joining forces to hunt them down, they will quickly find that with enemies like these, even the darkest shadows have eyes.
Soon, Ethan must keep running as his losses mount, or fight back against enemies whose power he cannot fathom. If he fails, everyone he loves will be ensnared by the sinister purposes of the most powerful elites on earth. And even if he succeeds, the dark viruses at work in the recesses of his own mind may yet prove fatal to him…and to those he holds most dear.
With nonstop action and heart-pounding suspense, this second installment in the Ethan Price series will leave you looking over your shoulder and wondering who to trust. And if your answer is no one, then maybe you’ll survive.
Malcolm Murdock is probably not an AI, but not even he can say for sure. What's generally agreed upon is that he's the author of the Ethan Price series, and when he's not writing he's busy abusing technology to invent new products for a very large Fortune 500 company (which will presumably be run by robots someday soon).
If you're looking for him, you can generally find Malcolm reading about AI, tweeting about space, playing the violin, or hiking with his family north of Los Angeles.

This character is nothing like Jason Bourne except for the fact that in the first book he does not have any memory. We find out that he’s a robot with A quantum brain. In the second book we find him running around like a petulant child running off half cocked without plans or for thought. If you have a super brain don’t you think you would be able to think faster and smarter than those humans around you. After all what used is having a quantum brain for. Take for example the two main protagonist are in a CIA warehouse the lights go out, they are wondering what happened? Don’t you think anybody with any common sense would know that they were discovered without having to wonder why the lights went out and the elevator is not working. Their issues like that that plague this book. I hope the main protagonist Ethan will develop the leadership skills like Jason Bourne so that he can lead his team in the future. Right now in my opinion this character is not very impressive. I would have given it only two stars, but I gave it three because the series has potential. There is some reasonably good character development. There is also some reasonably good action sequences in the book. And most importantly there is a great mystery as to who is behind door number three. Because of that alone I will go on to read the next book, who is really pulling the strings? I hope in the next book the author will decide to use more of the abilities and skills that Ethan has or will develop.
Greetings your second book in your series was as good a story as your first, continuing adventure. You sure know how to bring robots to life. I also found my hidden gem ghat I look for in each story I read. Quantum Computers the maximum and the hidden. If quantum computing accurately does what my intuitive mind tells me is possible then this robotics model you are describing .ight change life as we know it. Well done, now on to. Number 3 Steven
Like the experience I had with Neuromancer back in the day
I got completely immersed, especially this second book, in the characters, and personalities and humor, and the action, and tech, in the plots, in the immersive world painted there. Murdock has captured something very awesome, a great sci-fi book.
Moves quickly, relatable characters, and some interesting tech ideas. Overall a good read and I recommend it. Book2 was a bit more engaging than book 1. Keep it up Mr. Murdock.
A good read, but it lacked the pacing of the first book
Some of the battle scenes in the last 1/4 of the book took too much time to slog through. A crisp editorial hand would restore book 2 to the intensity level that I expected from the first book.
Enjoyable romp in blow-stuff-up land, nicely spiced with a sprinkle of mysticism and a quick dash of ................ . Oh, yeah, and a spot of hope. A very small spot.
Love tech junk book brings you into a future that has came full circle from our past!!! A lot more toys, junkies, hookers, slums ect….. fight ring money bets, all you need is Stephen Kings gunslinger and maybe Darth Vader or few storm troopers!!!!
He's outgunned, outnumbered, and is less than half the man he was. C'mon Malcolm did Ethan lose about 100 points of I.Q from the first book to the second.
This second Ethan Price book is a great read! Mr Murdock is one of those rare authors that can put you right in the action…immersive, action packed techno thriller! I am anxiously awaiting book 3!!
A roller coaster of adventure gallows humor and futuristic tech. Price is like a "Jason Bourne" of futurist assassins. The cadre of characters who help him remember who he is are a classic sci-fi ensemble.
