Really, really nice apocalyptic duology!

The writing was very simple, which is came from the minds of children so it makes sense and really adds to the atmosphere of the book. also really keeps you understanding that everything thay is happening on the page, is happening to children.

It was really fast paced and honestly, i just fell into both of these books. the story flows so damn nicely; you're at 80% before you even think about anything else. i loved all the characters, they all hurt the hell out of my heart.

honestly really glad i gave these books a go, would definitely recommend if you're trying to find a filler book or trying to get out of a reading slump ❤️

A Post Apocalyptic Thriller with interesting characters who come to life on the page. The continued story of a group of kids who have had to grow up fast. Great descriptions that make you feel like you are with each and every character throughout the story. This story has a few twists and turns, with some unexpected plot twists. A great read.

Haven continues the story where we left it in the last book. Instead of finding safety, the kids found themselves facing more dangers and crazy twists and turns that keep you in your toes til the last page!!!

Got this as a birthday gift and was super excited to read it after how much I enjoyed the first book. Was definitely a quicker read, but was definitely good as well. I enjoyed the action parts so much and felt that it was a good sequel. There were a couple of things the first book mentioned but were never touched upon in this book that I thought should have been, but I didn't let it disappoint me too much since they may have been too difficult to include and keep the flow of the second book.

Oh, and Liam totally gave me Carrick (from Cecelia Ahern's "Flawed" Duology) vibes.

The Haven completely pulled me in. I went into this book thinking I had a pretty good idea of where things were heading, and then it proved me wrong over and over again. I genuinely did not expect the AI to still be the threat it was, and that twist had me sitting there like, "Are you serious right now?"
The mission was such a fun part of the story. There was always something happening, and I loved seeing everyone come together and use their strengths to make it through. After everything they had been through, it was amazing to see how much trust they had built in each other. The teamwork in this book was honestly one of my favorite things.
And Aria and Liam? I adored them. Their connection felt so natural and was one of the biggest highlights of the book for me. Through all the chaos, fear, and uncertainty, they always seemed to find their way back to each other, and I found myself rooting for them every step of the way.
This book kept me guessing, made me emotional, and reminded me why I love stories about found family and people refusing to give up on each other. I wasn't ready for it to end.

I am so happy that I got to continue the journey with this group of strong kids! The book picks up right where The Unknown left off. The only thing is, the kids are definitely tired of Nevah, the AI on the ship, and ready to rebel. The story is action packed right from the beginning with lots of thought provoking situations that will keep you on your toes. When I read The Unknown, I thought I was going to have a problem reading from so many different points of view but quickly overcame that because all of their points of view are equally important, especially in this sequel. There are many moving parts and to see how each kid copes and reacts to these different situations is very humbling. I love how they quickly become a family.

This is the second book in The Unknown duology, and boy am I glad I read this!! I felt like this book was much more thriller like than the first one. I found myself feeling nervous to see what was going to happen next. It’s harder to review this one - as I don’t want to give anything away. But I will say, this book did a great job of picking up where the first book left off!

I was also glad that they added Liam as one of the POVs for this one, which made it so that there were 4 POVs instead of 3, but reading this after the first book made it easy to follow along. The only thing that tripped me up with this book was with how they switched back and forth using their real names & their names from the Sub. But other than that, this book was so good! It was super fast-paced & constantly kept you guessing to see what twist it was going to take! I definitely recommend this duology!!

I was incredibly lucky to get the opportunity to read The Haven Before release, and I absolutely loved it. J W Lynne is so imaginative, and this book completely captivated me.
It was a page-turner from start to finish that kept me guessing and on my toes. It’s original and if you like dystopian fiction, then this book is for you.

I love the mystery, intrigue and the suspense of the plot, and how with each book you get to know the characters that little bit more.

Another excellent dystopian read! I do love dystopian books, and this fits in with everything I love about them - a future undone by our own human hands, characters who have to navigate uncertain dangers along with us readers, and a plot that keeps you engaged. The characters do their best to do what is right, and with integrity, and that matters (to me) usually in main characters. You don’t want to put it down because you want to know what will happen next!

I liked the book a lot and the ending had a pretty good twist that kept me on the edge of my seat. I do think that the gap between the books in the series does leave a little bit unsaid. Picking up one after the other can be slightly confusing with where you are timeline-wise and what really happened at the conclusion of the first book.

That's the question that leaves you begging to read more. there were moments where it dragged and i started to want to DNF. but there were also parts that made me want to continue. i personally feel that the second book wasn’t needed, but at the same time, i liked how the second book showed the kids that were kidnapped made their worst nightmare go away (if this makes sense).

This story was just disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing what the characters’ new home held after the events of the first book, but this was a let down. The plot was consistently confusing and disorienting. It felt like a repeat of the first book, and I was wishing for some new questions and answers. While the characters shone in their development, this book ultimately let me down.

I enjoyed this even more than the first book. I think part of it was the characters were already known and established, and even though both books took place within about 2 weeks, the characters were more familiar to me by book 2. The plot was also more straightforward, and everything wasn't a mystery. A good short YA series that was perfect for when you need an 'in between series' read.

The characters were written so well. I got pulled in from the first book and it just kept me there through this book! The way the author brought the scenery to life and alk the characters, I felt like I was there! Such a great follow-up to the first book! Life changes, questions are answered and new problems arise. The kids now have to get used to a new way of life, a life they never saw themselves living. They must stick together, trust their instincts, and navigate life as it is.

This book was very interesting to read. It was very suspenseful and I couldn’t stop reading it. Now that the kids have made it to the safe haven, they think they are safe, but they’re not. A girl named Neveah tries to attack the haven. The kids have to work together to take down Neveah and stop her from attacking. I did enjoy this book a lot, but not as much as the first one. I would recommend to someone who enjoys mystery and suspense.

I loved the second book in The Unknown series and would give it five stars. This installment takes everything that was great about the first book and builds on it, with even more suspense, mystery, and emotional depth. The story is fast-paced and gripping, keeping you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

The characters continue to grow and face new challenges that test their courage, intelligence, and loyalty. I loved seeing how they adapt to the evolving dangers and unexpected situations, and the bonds between them feel realistic and meaningful.

The world-building is immersive and imaginative, making it easy to get lost in this unique setting. The book balances action, mystery, and emotional moments perfectly, and I found myself completely invested in the story.
