Good for new readers and beginners. Please avoid this if you are a serial reader.
The book is so bad I don’t even know why I read it. Pathetic writing. I felt like I was watching a C grade movie with super low budget. One thing I would surely tell that this is a page turner because you literally know what’s going to happen so you have to turn page without reading it.
A good aspect about book is that the core story is great and how author has described yoga within the story is really appreciated. I have given 2 starts because of that only. I wish author has used better ways of writing instead of writing a plot for super low budget movie.
Most of the time you know what is going to happen because such situations and such drama has been created and viewed over and over again for decades. The love story is pathetic. The fighting scenes are straight from any old history movie. Zero character development.
If you have watched Undeworld movie you can easily relate the love story to it and ending of that story too.
Dialogues again feel blank and flat without any expression.
I can give you an example of how this book feels. Imagine you are watching a low budget movie or tv series where the cast is totally novice and don’t know how to act. The writer and director just want to wrap up the story because budget is limited. Now, you can imagine how will they act. The dialogue delivery and expressions both are pathetic. Could be a great book but instead became a plot of flop movie.
INSIGHT- Abhay, the protagonist of Shiva Origins is a passionate young scholar researching the Chola dynasty. During his visit to South India, where the Chola empire had flourished, he uncovers ancient symbols which he successfully decodes owing to his vast knowledge of ancient history, yogic practices and Lord Shiva. Abhay finds himself facing the truth of his own discoveries and he sets of on a journey of exploration.
REVIEW- Lord Shiva and his many avatars have been at the center of several mythological fiction books so it becomes increasingly important for writers who base their stories on him to present something new, original and engaging. This book does just that. Shiva Origins celebrates not just Lord Shiva as a deity or hero but seamlessly fleshes him out through a modern, young narrator who takes readers into the fascinating world of yoga and ancient dynasties.
STRENGTHS – The book is so well structured and researched that as readers we don’t even realize as the writers flits easily between fact and fiction. The cover is beautifully designed with an almost reverential image of Lord Shiva himself. The book is clearly divided into two parts. The first half that deals with Abhay’s discoveries is slower in pace and focusses more on knowledge whereas the second half with Ghora is fast paced and engrossing. Both parts complement each other perfectly. The cliffhanger is truly a masterstroke and readers will want to know immediately what happens next.
WEAKNESS- The pace of the book fluctuates with some chapters being significantly longer than others.
Target Audience- People interested in ancient history and mythology.
Shiva Origins: The Son of Ganga is an unputdownable modern-day mythological thriller that takes us on a heroic quest for a primordial secret that lies deeply buried in mythology and ancient history. A great plot with a unique blend of genres, fast-paced narration, and an underlying theme of adventure and doom keeps the reader on their toes and offers them wholesome entertainment.
The author is working on Kevin missals idea of having fantastic cover to lure the audience. I too was fooled by it. Pathetic story line hardly discriptive. Its a total waste of time.
"Today in the name of evolution, humans are drowning in the ocean of illusions. Our teachings are ignored and destiny is going to decide the fate of planet Earth. You need not know who or what I am. But be assured, I will guide you to revive the lost legacy. Your journey to unveil my origins shall end to fulfil the prophecy”. — Lord Shiva |Shiva Origins.
Shiva Origins : The Son Of Ganga' took place thousands of years ago and this book unveils the truth of Shiva Origins. The book is divided into two parts. The first part narrates the story of Abhay Sharma and second part is about Ghora.
Abhay Sharma, a young and brilliant student who loves to explore the ancient history, caves, temples and scriptures. Currently along with his friends he is all set to explore the hidden mysteries of Chola Dynasty. On his trip to Southern India, at Sathuragiri Hills he discovers an illusionary forest and queer cave. As Abhay enters the cave he finds various scripts, mysterious statues, strange creatures. He discovers the secret of yoga, decodes the signs with the knowledge of yoga and history of Lord Shiva.
Now the second half of the book narrates the story of Ghora who lived thousands of years ago. Ghora was a fierce warrior who was never responsible for anything yet he had gone through injustices which awakened the fire within him and turned him into an evil.
To be honest, I am running short of words. The story is narrated in such a brilliant and thrilling way that it won’t allow you to get distracted. The style of writing is amazing which captivates you for sure. The book is well researched and full of facts which I recently got exposed too. Through Abhay’s and Ghora’s story the book unravels a lot of secrets and gives you immense knowledge and know it you must definitely get your hands over this book. Also the book ends with a spine-chiller which creates a curiosity among the readers about what may happen next. Overall, I would rate it 5⭐/5⭐
Dinesh Veera's Shiva Origins: The Son of Ganga is an enthralling dive into a lesser-explored facet of Hindu mythology. This book offers a fresh perspective, blending epic storytelling with compelling character arcs. While perhaps not the absolute best mythological fiction I've ever read, it certainly stands out as a genuinely good and engaging read, perfect for devouring in a single day. The narrative is well-paced, keeping you engaged as it unfolds the origins and journey of a powerful figure. Veera's writing is evocative, painting vivid scenes that transport you directly into the mythological world. A promising start to a new series, highly recommended for anyone who enjoys mythological fiction with a unique spin and is looking for a quick, enjoyable escape.
This book had potential to be an interesting read because of its core story that revolves around secrets of yoga but instead it turned out to be a highly predictable page turner. The language and writing is ordinary and author's desperate attempt to add a love angle is just pathetic. Moreover, bringing the concept of "aliens" in a supposedly mythological novel is cringeworthy. Looks like author was trying to write like Ashwin Sanghi but couldn't even touch his level of research and narration.
The initial plot seemed good. It was interesting, fast paced, full of promise. But poor writing has ruined everything. Flow of story is very poor. Sometimes it feels like the author himself has forgotten what he had written previously. Story is disjointed. Writing is childish. And the plot is extremely predictable and boring. Just introducing an advanced alien race and combining it with mythology doesn't make a story good. Total waste of time and money.
Abhay, being an avid researcher of everything having to do with the Chola Dynasty, sets out on an adventure in the Sathuragiri Hills of Tamil Nadu. During his stay in Tamil Nadu, he uncovers ancient truths based on his vast knowledge of yoga practices and ancient history.
Many authors may have written fiction about Lord Shiva but I have read none of them except the Shiva Origins series and it is worth it.
This story has a way of captivating its reader with the adventure, knowledge, and research the author put it in. The cliffhanger at the end was something else.
The only setback of the book is the diction. It could have been a lot better but the plot makes up for it. It is a must-read for Mythology lovers.
Thank you @dineshveraa and @books_andauthors for the review copy.
It is a boring story integrated into a C-grade Bollywood movie template. A protagonist goes on a tour and meets a lady. The lady hates the protagonist for no good reason and eventually falls for him for no good reason again. There is a bad guy in the protagonist's friends group who ditches them (of course). And there is the antagonist group, who is chasing the same thing as everyone else. I've read 100 pages and have given up, but I'm sure the cops come chasing the goons right at the end of the story. I do not recommend this book.
Shiva Origins - The Son of Ganga By - Dinesh Indian mythology is filled with amazing gods and goddesses. A mysterious vibe spreads whenever the name of Shiva comes to our mind. For there are many theories even in science that bring mystic theories about his origins. Who was he! A super human, An extraterrestrial or just a common man or just a mythical character who actually never existed.
From the stories of the gigantic world wonder Kailash Temple to his meditation spot in the adobe of snow and tandab, everything brings a blend of splash of energy about his demeanour and his mysterious presence.
Abhay, an indomitable spirited college student embarks on a mission to investigate few secrets about Chola kingdom the strong ruling ones centuries ago in South India. He crosses few caves with errie stone cravings and accidently an evil comes to life after thousands of years. The way the story starts it captures my mind instantly with its visually appealing backdrop with snowy capped hill encircled by a leopard alongside a demon arising.
The sequence of events blended with fact enriched plot and smooth fast paced narration about dark caves, cave paintings, century old wars between two different worlds alongside mythological weapons, shastra, yoga, serpents, forest, astronomy and more, make this read a power packed adventurous read. This is part 1. More secrets to be unrevealed in next one.
Cover page: The Cover Depicts a Yogi/ warrior in a lion skin with long hair and in his and is hand he is holding a wooden rod where a goat head is placed in its starts and light emanating from its eyes. Overall a very good cover. Though I believe that the Title should be Shiva’s Origin than Shiva Origins. Kindoff grammatical mistake.
Review: The book’s blurb quite attracted me to the book and wow I was in surprise, I quite liked the book. The Book is all about an expedition Abhay undertakes which changes his lives forever. what and how he uncovers the secret is all the book about.
The positives of the book is its story line, The author has depicted the story one after the other which definitely keeps the reader occupied. Story Line starts with the expedition to the backdrop story of the villian.
The negatives of the book is is a little dragging, but I also believe that drag was necessary to know the backdrop of the story. The other part was the story focused on Yoga as well, which I am least interested in.
This is a fictional story based on Hindu mythology and history. The mixture of these elements is beautiful. The plot focuses on the character named Abhay. He belongs from the current society but he is interested in researching about Temples and Dynasties of Old India. While exploring about the rich history of India, the protagonist development is penned down well by the author. The book is divided into sections focusing on the way Abhay discover, research and conclude the different discoveries he made. The narration is kept simple and easy making it a comfortable read for all. The language used is lucid. I finished it in one sitting only.
Only plot based and not character. The characters were mostly only there for the plot to move forward and dump exposition. I like the concept that it throws regarding the Indian Gods mythology, but half of what you want from the concept will be given to you in part 2
Torture ! This book is pathetic ,too cliche and dialogues are so cringe that it send shivers down your spine.just giving 2 stars, because some knowledge of yoga the book gives.
“Known is a drop and unknown is an ocean”. Similarly the knowledge hidden within our ancient Indian scriptures and traditions is infinite. The more you explore the deeper it tends to sink into ones mind. And through this series, “Shiva Origins: The Son of Ganga”, the author attempts to explore the secrets of Yogic practices and Hinduism. More than that, the book attempts to explore Lord Shiva, the Mahadev, as the Adiyogi and his journey.
The story begins with Abhay, the protagonist who is on a mission to explore the past history of the great kingdom of Southern India ruled by the Chola Dynasty. During his conquest, he facing many challenges and surprisingly he overcomes them with great courage. His journey to uncover the mysteries of ancient India, Hinduism and Yoga takes him to many places and experiences. The books ends in a cliffhanger and I am eagerly waiting to read the second book in the series.
The language and narration is quite simple and easy to understand. I liked how the author takes us to different places of India. All the places and incidents have a significance and I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the information. Overall, a good book and a great effort by the author.
The story of this book was a complete surprise for me. My little brother bought thjs book an year ago and then I wasn't having any plan on reading it but after a while I had read some reviews of the same book on bookstagram which made me understand that I must give this book a read. For me the beginning was good like not the best but after the mid section of the book the story reaches a whole different level like it totally transforms itself into a different vibe and it felt that I was reading a completely different genre. Dinesh Veera literally outdid himself and the story went from average to very good and the ending was epic like it totally transformed into a perfect story by making the readers eager for the next installment of the book. If you like historical fiction and mythologies with a twist you must give this book a try.
This was a very quick read. The premise of the story is interesting and i have always been a fan of mythology. The writing style is quite engaging and the book is worth reading. It does look like a screenplay waiting to be made into a movie or web series.

Review Shiva Origin Son of Ganga I read the ebook on my Kindle, borrowed on Prime Reader. The book is a Historical thriller, about a secret weapon discovered by a few friends as part of their own adventure. Abhay is a history adventurer, who likes to explore and learn more about our history, backed by his professor, he goes for an adventure in one of the Sathuragiri hills in Tamil Nadu. On the trip he meets Mayank and Anisha who accompany them. They have walk through the Maya Forest to reach the hills and there they encounter a series of secret clues which lead them to the deeper corners of the caves and reveal wonderful secrets and adventure. All the clues are aligned to the yoga chakra’s that we have in our body. The friends encounter some breath taking incidents in there (I would leave this thrilling part for the readers to read and enjoy from the book). However they have to save their lives at one point of the adventure, where Abhay, without the knowledge of his other friends gets a new found jewel from the cave, which was so unique and did not actually seem like a Jewel but it was made of some peculiar material that none were aware off. Back home, Abhay has a unknown, uninvited and unseen visitor, who tells Abhay that he has to return that shastra to them. He is a Yog, a planet which is millions of light year away from Earth. Abhay at first is shocked, confused and thinks he is hallucinating all of it, may be the effect of the Maya forest. Then the visitor from the distant planet tells him the story of Ghora, Son of Ganga. Ghora, a villager is a strong and a kind person. One day on his trip to catch snake with his best friend Dippu, he meets an angel like girl near a lake. They both start meeting and Ghora starts loving the lady. One day he expresses his love the girl just leaves him saying that he was of lower cast and her father would never accept him. Ghora, over time tends to become a warrior, where he finds his lost love once again. The king gets to know that he is in love with his daughter and decides to kill them both. He tries to run away but betrayed by one if his trusted friends, he was caught by the king’s army. The king then kills all the family members of Ghora, his daughter and Ghora too and throws them into Yamuna river. Saved and treated by some saints, Ghora learns about Yoga and also about some very dangerous secret too. Connecting back to Abhay, he holds some thing that Ghora was looking for, and how is it related and a person who lived about a thousand years back and what is this alien’s interest in it, how does he know so much about the history on earth which Abhay never heard off. Over all I would say the book is a good read, it has its gaps, the love story is not so impressive but the thriller part of the book is absolutely good. I personally felt that the ending of the book is not complete, yes there is a Book 2 but this does not seem to end on a very high node. But a good pick, this was a very random for me but I hope you would not pick it randomly and sure hope would like the book. I rate it 3.5
“Being a yogi, he could sense the awakening of something sinister. Something so terrifyingly evil that it made the hair on his back stand tall.”
The start was very interesting. It'll give you an impression that you are going to experience some war in history. The story is divided into three parts. First with the quest, revelation of the treasure. Second, the story of the origin of the evil and third, the ever engaging story telling.
If I had to pick I'd say my favourite was the adventure and the gory details of the quest. The mayavi jungle in Tamil Nadu. It was like a movie playing before my eyes, every detail of the cave, evidence of existence of Chola Dynasty, obstacles, ancient messages, and Abhay's yoga knowledge. Coming to the second part of the story of origin, it wasn't that par for me. It was like any other story about our nani or dadi used to recite to us. To say it was somewhat related to ancient mythology, it was quite weak. The third part: the conversation between Abhay and Rudin where the revelation takes place was a unique blend of mythology, ancient history, human race, and the advanced knowledge. To be honest, it felt like I was reading an indianized version of Harry Potter(no offence to devotees, I'm a believer). If you observe it that way, you'll see a glimpse of that in every part. A story which starts with a scholar Abhay who has a great interest in ancient history, mythology, archaeology and space-time. He takes upon himself to help a guy and a girl with their final year research paper to find out facts about the existence of an ancient Dynasty. As the story progresses, they fight a lot of obstacles with Abhay's deep knowledge on certain topics, which in turn unleash an evil, something which has the power to destroy the earth. Now, the only way to save the earth from evil is to decode the mystery and understand the Origin and the motive. The story halts there, giving us an idea of what we are gonna read in the 2nd part.
To me, the book was fast-paced with a deep knowledge of yoga and ancestors. What didn't work out for me was the characters, which I felt was just the prop to support the story. Another thing was the romance. It was kind of forced.
The story idea and plot is really commendable but the interpretation isn't up to the mark. The author tried putting something, we can think of it to be possible in some dimensions but it wasn't enough.
Overall, if you are a beginner in mythology or ancient history, give it a try. Apart from the failing story interpretation, it has a lot of facts and gory details one can never be too late to learn.
As today is Mahashivratri and I am a small Follower of him and his principles and here today I am wishing for you all a blessed life and today I have finished a book based on Shiva and I am here to talk about it. . . Review
The book has left essence on me and gave me an amazing time and kept me engrossed in the story author has presented beautifully.
For a very long time, I wanted to read this book and now I as read it I am very delighted to tell you about it and what it holds.
A story of a man who has a warrior soul in him and is very keen to do something extraordinary for his kingdom and a story of a man who uncovered a hidden weapon which can destroy a whole planet but he didn't know about it when he found it.
The book left suspense which I think the author will reveal in the next book and I am excited to read that too as I loved this one and will recommend it to every reader who has a soft heart for Mythological tales and sci-fi.
This book is the first part of the series of shiva origin and in it, it tells about the beginning of all the story and how it happened and what could happen if they don't stop evil on time.
Glimpse in a blink
Abhay never in his dreams ever had imagined that he would find a temple which is made of gold and a trail to keep hidden a jewel which seems ordinary to him but little did he know he is seeing something that is beyond his imagination and when he went his home a being appeared in front of him and introduced himself a being of another planet and very advanced from humans.
The being tells some story to Abhay about his existence and a story which is related to the jewel which is now in possession of Abhay and at the same time some goons are trying to locate him and his partner who went to find the jewel the hidden treasure of Chola kingdom which is worth billions in market and goons are in search to find it and sell to earn profit for that they will do anything.
The jewel holds the power to destroy everything and evil has awakened to find it to destroy everything which once takes away all his loved ones from his life and left him in agony which kills him daily.
To know more about the story go grab the book and start reading and keep inspiring people to read.
”We worship the three-eyed one who is fragrant, and who sustains all living beings. May he liberate us from (Samsara) death. May he (Lord Shiva) lead us to immortality, just as the cucumber is released from its bondage.”
Shiva has pre-Vedic tribal roots, and the figure of Shiva as we know him today is an amalgamation of various older non-Vedic and Vedic deities, including the Rigvedic storm god Rudra who may also have non-Vedic origins, into a single major deity.
Blurb : The story starts with Abhay , researching the Chola Dynasty as not many of you might know about it so , The Chola dynasty was a Tamil thalassocratic empire of southern India, one of the longest-ruling dynasties in the world's history. Half of the story is all about the exploration , Abhay dropped into this breath taking adventure rather unexpectedly with his friends. The astonishing knowledge Abhay holds on yoga helps him find his way out regarding ancient signs , yoga and Adiyogi Lord Shiva . He, instead, awakens a supreme evil and The thrill begins with entry of Ghora . Read it out to find what happens next in the most amazing mythological fiction of the era .
My Review : 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
🍃 The author has done a superb job of recounting the details of the principal myths of our culture , then summarizes their meaning in light of the cultural traits , ideas and characteristics of our ancient culture and Lord Shiva . 🍃 It points its attention to main god and their relations and unlike other books it also points at facts of historical value . 🍃 Talking about the author's style of writing and cohesion, clarity, flow of the text, and use of precise words is just outstanding . 🍃 The narration is consistent throughout the story which i loved the most in this book . 🍃 I would highly recommend this book to everyone who is into fictional mythological readings . Personally one of my best reads of 2021 .
The book goes in all random directions. The character motivations seem really weak. I struggled to finish the book, definitely would not recommend it.
A book like this usually wouldn't take long for me to read and complete but this book took forever as the story was rather dull. There were some moments where the plot felt like it kickstarted and would become interesting, but soon the entire thing just trailed off back into dullness.
While the narrative structure is something very particular to the genre, it feels overused with the narration and at a certain extent, there seems to be little growth for any character in the book.
The book comes across as a story that is there for the sake of setting up the further books and nothing else. The plot doesn't really kickstart until nearly the end, so good luck getting through till there.
=================SPOILERS POST HERE. PLEASE READ OF YOUR OWN VOLITION============ As I see, there are 3 facets to the story. The first one is of Abhay - finding the gem and discovering the hidden story behind. This includes Ganesh and Anisha, the few moments of flirting between Abhay and Anisha - everything. This entirely relies on narration and it gets stale after a point.
The second one is of Talwar and the Black Eagle - As one of the members part of the expedition with Abhay and the gang is from Black Eagle, they are curious to know what exactly transpired. This is not explored well enough to make any sort of sense. The initial assumption for me is that Black Eagle is a secret and strict organization but that is not established anywhere across the entire story. A full of 2 - 3 pages is dedicated to them in the entire book.
The third one if of Ghora and his story - this is the most important one, which also is sort of ruined by the narration. The important bits feel lost in the exposition and that's essentially the entire book. I'm partly glad that I finished it because my TBR pile is rising up but I wouldn't recommend this book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF "Shiva Origins: The Son of Ganga'' by Dinesh Veera
Genre: Fiction (Mythology)
Rating - 5/5
QOTD: What is Mythology to you?
"Shiva Origins: The Son of Ganga" by Dinesh Veera. Being a bakht of Lord Shiva, I read this book which is in the Mythology genre. This book is about a college-going boy, Abhay, who works on a project where he is searching for Lost Temples and their Dynasties. So he is working on it. He is discovering Chola Dynasty. Chola Dynasty is the most prominent ruling dynasty in the southern part of India. As part of the research, he went to Tamil Nadu, Madurai, worked over the study and took every note, and was very cautious on the case study. We will get to know how Abhay has worked so hard to do the research and work on this study. In this investigation process, the author has talked about the excellent knowledge of Yoga and Lord Shiva. We will get to know the importance of Yoga through this book. . Moreover, the way the author has explained Lord Shiva is exceptional. It is difficult to describe something that is at the spiritual and divinity level. I was captivated to read about Lord Shiva as it requires excellent writing skills to explain the divinity range of Shiva. . Later the second part of the book includes another character called Ghora. This story is also equally interesting like the above one, so this story will be revealed in the middle of this book, and well, this story will give you twists and turns. In the end, we will know how both the parts of the book are interlinked to each other. . The language is ludic and straightforward with its writing style. This book has incorporated a proud feeling in your heart about Lord Shiva. The author has added some fictional elements to the book while explaining everything to make the readers even more interesting to read. And now I can't wait to read the second book of this saga.
Shiva Origins, a short fictional mythological read. The book is about 200 pages long but it is way before the last page one can anticipate that the story ain’t going to conclude which can thus result in making of its PART II. The book talks about Abhay, a Bhopal resident who has deep rooted interests in yoga and ancient Indian culture. He goes on an exploratory expedition with Ganesh, his professor's nephew and Anisha, Ganesh’s friend. On the expedition they come across a masterpiece Astra which they doubt to be a jewel at first. Abhay keeps Astra with himself and the later part of the story revolves around Astra. Abhay comes to know that the Astra is no ordinary jewel but is a level S weapon which possesses the power to destroy the planet Earth in split seconds.
The book has three parallel storylines going on. First one is about Abhay and his friends who are interested in exploring the history of the Cholas. Second one is about an Alien from Astra planet who needs the weapon Abhay possesses. Last but not the least it is about Ghora, who hoodwinked death for 1000 years and now is searching for the weapon in rage to destroy the planet earth.
One of the best things is that despite having three parallel storylines, the writer manages to catch readers attention and the simple style of writing proves out to be icing on the cake. Though the book is a fictional read, it does provide the reader with basic yogic knowledge which can encourage some if not all to read more on yoga. The writing inside the book does give justice to its enthralling book cover, which was one of the major reasons for me to read this book. A very catchy read. Eagerly waiting for the next part to get released soon :P. This book does less talking about Shiva which was a disappointing factor and a deceiving title indeed.
Been a while I had read a mythological fiction and just when I was missing this genre got the book Shiva Origins. The cover and the blurb make me feel like this would be an adventurous ride. After reading the snippet which says neither man nor god, but beyond! Well to tell you a little the story is of a college student Abhay sharma who is a college student and is on a mission to uncover the secrets of the ancient chola kingdom. But things don’t go as he perceived and he instead awakens a supreme evil and there’s only one way to save the planet earth. Abhay is stuck against the race of time and while he’s on a journey to finish a story that started centuries ago he unveils the truth behind the shiva origins so along with Abhay I started my journey to with a cup of coffee and the book.
Well to begin with the writer has written it with so much ease and simplicity that it felt as if I am solving an ancient puzzle which involved the science of yoga and chakras and obviously mythology based on shiva. There are quite a few deep learning’s incorporated in the fiction. The narrator has used different sutradhars or mediums if I may say that makes the book quite well structured that takes the book forward which keeps the book and the story telling more interesting. I felt like literally I was watching a film screening in those pages.
The book has come to an end but has left me yearning for a lot more. I am impatiently waiting to know the further story of the Shiva Origins - the lost legacy.
I would recommend this book to all who are mythological fans and also the ones who love yoga. As it explores the secrets of yoga and Hinduism in a creative manner and the writer very intelligently has left it to the readers to have an analytical evaluation of the same. It a very nice fact and fiction book
Mythological fiction is all about exploring mythology with your own imaginative twist, and in the first book of the series 'Shiva Origins - The Son of Ganga', Dinesh expressed his brilliant imagination through the narration. When a young, inquisitive college student lands his hands on what he thought to be an ancient jewel, he finds himself in a lot more trouble than he had anticipated. An ancient evil is alive once again, and it knows exactly what it wants. Will Abhay be able to decode the ancient truth regarding this jewel?
Most mythologies that I have read had been about humanizing a god figure, but the author created a world more intriguing with this book. I loved the way he played with the narration. It had multiple layers and contained more stories of the past than the present. This book successfully laid down the platform for the next book in line. Someone who knows none of the mythological stories related to Lord Shiva won't have any trouble reading this book. The author has explained everything, and it gives newbie readers a good place to start. Abhay, the main protagonist, didn't have much character advancement, but the interesting storyline didn't let me close the book.
The dialogue delivery could have been smoother, though. It felt as if the author had pasted a definition instead of a natural delivery of explanation in certain places. I feel working on that would make the book much easier to go through.
Overall, as I mentioned earlier, this book would be an amazing introduction to mythological fiction for new readers. Seasoned readers will probably enjoy the new setting this book brings. I can't wait to explore the next book 'The Lost Legacy'
