She wants to protect him. He can't stay away.

Kennedy Lowe wasn’t supposed to walk away, taking my heart with her. Now she’s gone, but I’m determined to get her back.

I want to save her.
Punish her.
In the end, I’ll make sure she knows exactly who she belongs to.

Conner Jagger wasn’t to supposed to save me, but he did. Now I’ll do anything to protect him and the people he calls family.

He’s good.
Worth fighting for.
In the end, I’lI do whatever it takes.

He might be the boy I betrayed, and I might the girl with nothing left to lose, but one thing’s for sure... He won’t let me go without a fight.

Even if it means risking everything.

Temper Him is a dark high school romance. If obsessive, lovable, over-the-top alpha holes aren't your thing, you probably won't like this book.

You know what, I’m mad, I’m really mad. What kind of epilogue was that??? Yes, I’m glad they graduated, that they celebrated all together and that Conner and Kenny made their dream come true, but I have SO MANY questions.

First things first though. I liked this book for the most part and I liked that there’s action and mystery in it (except romance of course). Again, there are many hot scenes, many triggers (shocking, I know) but for the most part it was a good read.

My heart broke so many times for Kenny, she didn’t deserve to go through all these. Her ex was totally insane, he’s the type of guy you read about in crime fiction books (I’m talking about the bad guy of course). I’m glad that she found her HEA with Conner and that she was finally able to make plans and dream about her future.

As for Conner, he’s still one of my favorite characters in the series and I loved him for caring about Kenny so much. He was so sweet at times, my heart melted. Like the night before Kenny’s 18th birthday while they were texting:

Conner: I can’t wait to give you a birthday kiss.
Me [Kenny]: One isn’t good enough, I want eighteen.
Conner: How about one for every second I’ve loved you?

However, I hated that one scene that he’s mad and he talks awfully to Kenny. It doesn’t matter if he was angry, he was supposed to be better than her ex and that one time he was just like him. He realized that his behavior was unacceptable after that but that didn’t change what happened. He even thought that:
I’m no f*cking better than him.

Oh, and I loved that scene while Ace, Cole and Conner spent time together like they used to when they were kids. It was nice to see just the three of them being happy and relaxed and not fighting for their or their girlfriends’ lives.

I would give this book 4 stars but I’m really mad about the epilogue, so I have to lower my rating unfortunately. I just hope that we’ll get to know more about them in Shattered Legacy and Condemn Us (the first books of two different series that I obviously have to start soon if I want to get answers to my questions…).

"Conner isn’t going to let me go without a fight, and the truth is, I don’t want him to." ~Kennedy
An Epic Emotional Steamy Wow End to this Dark Duet with Heartbreak, Tears, New Lows & New Highs, Facing the Devil, Secrets, Truths, Justice, Bright Future, Care, Love, Happiness and A Worth-it Beautiful HEA.
I fell in love with this family, especially Conner & Kennedy even more! DEVOURED this story in 5hrs.
Warning: This Duet isn't for the Faint hearted. Who knew High Schoolers face so much shit?

This Book picks up from the Cliffhanger of the previous book, We Find Exactly Why Kennedy left Conner And went to The Devil in Human form: Warren, C+K's Friend turned worst enemy. There, Kennedy is Suffering Badly; Here, Conner is Devastated.
I like that C has his Family & Friends for support (I'm sure gonna check out the Previous 2 duets in this series!)
But There, K has no one..Or so she thought. Her Bestie & Conner's Friends there were so helpful!

Warren is Blackmailing the Jaggers (Con's Fam), Somehow he'd found the Darkest of their Secrets..Ken is just a Means in his Sick Game of Revenge (Why?).
Con Knows Ken doesn't want to be with the Assaulting Abusive Warren & wants her back BUT circumstances are against them..As Now is not the Right time for Rescue.
The Two's pain was so profound, it had me in tears many times, Warren Dropped to New Lows here, I hate him with a passion. Ken is so strong..and Con, oh my baby, Seeing Ken Suffering broke him but he was there for her, Their Love Always Alive. K+C's Secret meets were Sexy, Soulful, Life-Giving & Fun!
~Back at Heights, So much Pain, Psycho Warren, School & Shocks, Deteriorating, Surprise Secret Meets, Steamy Encounters, Keep Faith, Friends & Family, Frustration, Breaking, Fights, The Plan for Rescue!

The Jaggers are a Force to be Reckoned with. Finally it's the right time & A Plan to Rescue Ken at her 18th Birthday is Made. But..It goes Astray, Warren is too smart for his own good. W treated Ken like an Animal *Angry tears*. Finding her was a Race against time, one that that The Jaggers & Conner Gladly Won!! And what Warren got *Death* was Well-Deserved.

And the last 20% of this book (& their Forever) was so worth all the Pain & Fight. The Happiness Heals, Ken belongs with Conner & His Family! And I liked that the Little Jealousy Ken had about Hadley (Con's Twin Cole's GF) & Con's Friendship is Resolved!
~Rescued, Truths, Healing, Fun Family Times, Banters, Love & Swoony times, The Vacation, Goofing off, Future talks, Family Forever, Cue HEA😍.
And that Epilogue..Holy Smokes! It was James (Con's dad) + Sarah's Wedding *Ooh*. We See Con & Ken beginning their HEA afterwards & It's Gorgeous! But the Extended Epilogue, James POV, shows J's Keeping many Secrets still AND it sure teased us about the Next Upcoming series, I'm so excited!

"Temper Him" is the last book of the "Rebels at Sterling Prep" series and the second book of Conner and Kennedy's Duet by the author Caitlyn Dare. Told in dual perspectives , get ready to meet Conner and Keneddy again!!

After that Cliffhanger of the first book , I dived straight into this one the moment it came on my kindle! And what a ride it was. Filled with even more suspense and drama, this book was definitely a top read of mine. The way these two authors write is just too addictive for me and I can't stop reading until I reach the very last page!

Conner and Keneddy are back with a bang. I won't discuss much of the storyline to avoid giving away any spoilers , but let me just warn you that this was the perfect conclusion to this series! We got to see a lot of other characters too which added to my joy and I definitely enjoyed this one a lot.

A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there!!

I ended up skimming this book after the h is raped and then the H shames her for it while having angry sex with her. I was... done with investing any time in this. I skimmed heavily through ridiculous plot and nonsensical decisions to the end to see how the epilogue would go for the rest of the gang and honestly, it was pretty dull but at least all these young teenagers weren't all married and pregnant.

The only thing I liked about this book was that Conner, the one who was all on board for forgiving James learned that he probably was too quick to forgive and his brothers don't know that yet.

I am not a fan of secret society stories which is what the next spin off series is about in a city called Gravestone of all things (c'mon) and then it looks like there are some Heights books planned. I'll make a decision when I can read the blurbs if I'll keep reading this author.

Oof. Nope. No. Not for me. I said this with the first book in the duet, but make sure you've read all of the books in this series so you understand why things are happening and who the players are. I missed out on that and it was a bit overwhelming and confusing, but I made it through.

But yeah, this book was not for me. Just like it's predecessor it was all anger, not angst, it was dark, but in a cringey and kind of gross way, and I just, I don't know. I wasn't comfortable with the way this book went and I'm not happy that the author made those choices, but it's not my story. There were also a lot of continuity errors that I had trouble with (like, we had no idea why Kenny even left in the first book, but still don't find out until like 1/3 of the way into book 2 so that was bizarre) and I don't know.

I did not vibe with this book.

Again, the trigger warnings for this one are bananas, especially since the heroine spends a majority of this book with her abusive ex-bf (and I'll let you fill in the blanks with how that goes. take what you think and make it worse). I know there is an audience out there for this type of story and book, but it's not me.

This is book 6 in the Rebels at Sterling Prep series, but considered book 2 of Connor Jagger and Kennedy Lowe's duet. I urge you to start this series at book one  if you want to understand the supporting characters, their environment, and the story line itself. This is not a standalone. Otherwise you're going to be lost, missing important events and information.

Connor has always been labeled as the silly goofball/jokester and he usually turns to humor to deflect what he's feeling, but not so much in his duet, especially this book. Gone, is the sweet brother we know and love. He's way more keyed up, angry, aggressive, and self-destructive. He turns to drugs and alcohol as well as fighting to release his aggression and frustrations, and to self medicate his pain. He's become a whole different person from what we've seen of him through the series.

Kennedy was strong and finally coming out of her shell. Just when she thought she had a shot at being happy in life she finds herself back in hell. For how strong of a woman she was, she allowed her mistreatment and nightmare to go on too long. To the point where she had no way out and it was too late to be free. I wish she was stronger to end her torment once and for all.

This book left me reeling. It's full of angst, mystery and there are so many plot twists  it left me with more questions then answers. After going back to binge the series from the beginning it left me with quite the series hang over. There is still so much we don't know and I feel like there is a lot more to tell about all the Jaggers, especially James! This book opens up for a few series spin offs, but I refuse to believe that this is the end for these Jaggers. It just can't be! But I must say I am excited for the new series to come either way!

Temper Him is the final book for Connor & Kennedy's duet which I have been dying to read after the cliffhanger that happened in Torment Her.

Asdfghjkl!!! This book is a tearjerker for me because it is very emotional with the raw amount of angst that breaks my heart while reading their story. I absolutely liked the development of the characters and how well written it truly is. Like seriously, I can't help but fell in love with these two characters.

Overall, this is an enjoyable read for me and I think that Caitlyn Dare did a great job in delivering this story. I was able to finish this book in one seating so I truly recommend everyone to give this book a shot. If you're a fan of angsty dark romance, then this duet series is for you.

Oh WOW, what a conclusion to the story that was!!! Absolutely amazed and awestruck!
The authors really finished their Conner/Kenny duo and Rebels at Sterling series with a LOUD BANG!!! Five stars and more!
Caitlyn Dare moved away from their "formula" of their previous "conclusion" books; instead, the author(s) provided us with a dark romantic suspense that kept me on my toes and at the edge of my seat from the first page to LITERALLY, the last!!!

Temper Him is the 2nd book of Conner's and Kennedy's story! Truth be told, i gave the first book of their duet a 3-star rating, as i found their romance to be on the mellow side... Well, there is NOTHING mellow about this book!
It is DARK, it is intense, it is suspenseful! A gripping story that will have your heart beating faster countless times! (i literally thought "Trust Him" was darkish, but na-ah, that book has nothing compared to the darkness of this one").

Totally reccommend this book, but BE AWARE that there are triggers. This is not your typical high-school romance. Some parts were EXTREMELY disturbing to read, and even though i couldn't put it down and finished it the same day, i had to pause a few times to gather my feelings. However, the ending was worth it, and seeing how Conner and Kennedy got their HEA was truly amazing. Out of the three heroines of the whole series, Kennedy really did suffer the most and i loved how the authors gave us readers a few chapters at the end to enjoy her HEA and sense of normalcy, instead of jumping from the final BIG scene right to the Epilogue.

I've enjoyed other books in this series but I'll be honest, this duet was just too OTT for me. I loved Conner's character in the other books but I don't feel this story did him justice. Too often he was acting totally opposite of his character from the previous books. He was the nurturing one. The peacemaker. The lover of the group. And yet in this book, he was angry, bitter, hateful, and a total alphahole, which didn't suit him! And when anything shocking happened he and Kenny either had sex or he ran off to a fight. I was really hoping for a story that was different from his brothers as his personality was different but apparently, the author only wanted one character type for this series.
There was no real story here. It was all sex. And yes, I feel like lightning is about to strike me because I said that. I rarely complain about sex in a book, usually, it's just the opposite. However, sex without purpose in a story is pointless.

ARC in Exchange For Honest Review.

This is the 6th book in the Rebels At Sterling Prep Series and the second part of Conner and Kennedy's Duet..

Damm this book Torment Her left us hanging but this picks up right where it left off. With Conner waking up and realising what has happened. This book took you through hell with Kennedy and what she goes through, it really isnt for the faint heart. Alot of times i wanted to throw my kindle and scream or and strangle certain people or actually more than strangle lol especially satan (Warren)

Conner and Kennedy literally go through hell as Kennedy does what she thinks is best for everyone by going back to Satan (its really not). This book once again is one hell of a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Once i started reading i could not put it down . Caitlyn is fast becoming one of my top 5 authors of 2020 can't wait to get this one on paperback to add to my collection (already have all the rest) Will these two be able to overcome everything? Will Warren end up destroying everything once and for all? Will Conner be able to save Kennedy in time? well your all going to have to read to find out trust me its so so worth it. I loved every second of this book, didnt want it to end. Can't wait to see what Caitlyn writes next.

Seriously awful. Kennedy’s a rape and abuse victim (continuously throughout the whole story), but she’s got no hang ups about sex and seems to have no trauma. On top of that, the scene where Connor angry fucks her in the woods while calling her a whore is honestly one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever read. And she apologizes to him after he treats her terribly! I hated it.

I’m so disappointed in how this series ended… I loved it so much to begin with.. the next two books were good.. but the last two in this series were so disappointing that I will never reread any of them again. Way to completely change the characters we loved for the worse by making those who were strong, compassionate, and protective into preachy assholes, overly passive, or un-involved

Ok, I started this series fully invested. Ace and Remi's typical bully romance with a twist pulled me in, Cole and Hadley's trauma kept me coming back, however, Conner and Kennedy nearly lost me. This definitely didn't come off as a bully romance, but rather trauma. In one sense that is a good thing. Who wants 6 books back-to-back that are essentially the same thing? So I do appreciate the difference. However, the push and pull between the two in the previous book became frustrating for me.

I do feel like I enjoyed this book a little more than the previous one. This book had action and drama. It focused less on Conner and Kennedy dealing with trauma and the baggage it brought, and more on an attempt to reveal secrets and save Kennedy from another bad situation.

In this book, we see the Conner we saw from Ace and Cole's books, and it was refreshing to see a character I really liked return to himself.

Kennedy was more likable in this book. She seemed less insecure. However, Conner was pretty frustrating for much of this book.

In all this book left me with more questions than answers. I still never got closure on Remi's dad from her book. I still don't know what their dad was into. I still don't know how Warren found out all his info and really any details into his reasoning (you can only infer). Was this his plan from the beginning? Did he always know?

The extended epilogue sets up a new series, where I hope SOME of these questions might be answered but who knows.

I feel torn on whether I want to give this book a 3 or 3.5 rating. I did find it better than the previous book but I just don't feel it earned a 3.5, therefore I am rating this 3.25 stars

Potential Spoilers:

To the things that frustrated me terribly

*The brothers are close and protective of each other, yet I feel like Cole and Ace were SO wrapped up in their own love lives that they really left Conner hanging.

*It was so frustrating that while Kennedy was once again stuck with the guy who beat her unconscious and had been raping her, the brothers were SO nonchalant. They were practically having sex with their girlfriends in front of Conner while he was sitting there, hoping Kennedy wasn't being raped.

*They also were SO not empathetic towards what he was going through. Cole, on several occasions, compared him and Hadley to Conner and Kennedy, "you know how it is. Uh, no, because his girlfriend has been in a dangerous situation for weeks protecting their family. So no, he doesn't. Ugh, and how Cole was asking Conner for his opinion on lingerie for Hadley was so dumb!

*Conner missed the mark in the previous book and this one when dealing with Kennedy being raped. This was SO frustrating. When they would meet up in secret and he would ask if she "let" him touch her 😮‍💨. Dude, she was being raped! She didn't let him do anything, he forced her. AND she was in that situation for him!

* The way Conner treated Hadley at the Valentine's Day bonfire really made me mad. He treated her like trash when she was just trying to survive. He was calling her a whore, and she must have liked it when Warren treated her that way. That she must like how he sleeps with girls and then comes to her. Ugh! I get he is mad and frustrated but this was SO wrong, especially after how he was so freaked out about hurting her in the previous book. It just seemed like such a backtrack.

*I hated how the brothers kept saying Conner needed to trust their dad. His dad knew he was going crazy and doing risky things and yet never thought to give him even a little bit of info to help give him some peace.

*I still don't understand why they had to wait until her birthday to get her out. With all of the dad's power and influence, he couldn't have dealt with it sooner?

Caitlyn Dare managed to leave me awe-stricken with Temper Him, an astonishing, jaw-dropping finale to The Rebels at Sterling Prep series. Consumed by Conner isn’t just a hashtag, it’s the bedrock in which the Jagger brothers instill in you.

Temper Him picks up where Torment Her left off from that point I was a step or 2 beyond consumed by Conner and Kennedy. There were moments I felt like I couldn’t breathe the raw emotions of these characters bled through the pages piercing my heart time, and time again.

Kennedy was a pillar of strength with the tenacity of a lion, she might fall but there was nothing and no one that would keep her down. This was the precise definition of a page-turner, every page pulls you in deeper, consuming more of you because these characters have these unrelenting, malicious foes raining down on them.

The chemistry between Kennedy and Conner was more electrifying on an emotional and physical level; it was wholeheartedly clear that they were 2 halves of one soul.

Caitlyn Dare propelled their writing in Temper Him to another stratosphere in this EPIC conclusion to The Rebels of Sterling Prep series. Every single aspect of this book floored me. A transcendent blend of an all-consuming storyline, moments that make your heart stop, slay you, fill your stomach with butterflies, many shades of darkness, steam, healing, and love, of soulmates, and this mesmerizing family.

Twists and Turns, Ride or Die! 🖤⚙️🔥

In the epic conclusion of this dark bully romance, Conner and Kenny’s story takes some deep ups and downs, with twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

While Conner is faced with the determination to protect her, Kennedy is left with no other choice than to protect and temper Conner into an extreme situation; parting ways is not the easiest choice on either side for this ride-or-die pair.

Overall, as much as I enjoyed this series, I was left wanting more at the end, and hope to see these characters again. In the meantime, I’ll be headed to Gravestone to seek some possible answers in the upcoming legacy series! ⚜️

If you like intense, angsty, dark bully romances, then Temper Him is the concluding book in the highly-rated Rebels at Sterling Prep Series.

**Trigger Warning: Rape, abuse, and other dark events are evident in this book.**

There is nothing that Kennedy wouldn’t do for Connor and that includes leaving him. She will ensure the safety of him and his family by returning to the one person who caused her so much pain with no thought of the consequences it would have for her.

With Kennedy gone Connor is devastated, distraught but determined. He will do whatever is necessary to bring Kennedy back where she belongs and he isn’t about to let anyone or anything stand in his way. Let the battle begin!

The conclusion to Kennedy and Connor’s journey take us on emotional ride filled with intrigue, heat and surprises that you won’t soon forget.

Don't let Conner's goofiness (or so Kenny calls him) fool you. He's just as alpha as his brothers and this time nothing will stop him from claiming Kenny. A grittier ride than the previous book, this story is packed with raw emotions. Such devotion from Conner and such sacrifice from Kenny, they try to overcome the obstacles preventing their being together. And there are many. So many secrets to undercover involving the entire cast.

I liked this story for its grittiness, dark themes, and contrasting characters. From Warren, to his father, to the MMA, the authors did not hold back. I love a villain! I also loved the interactions between the Jagger brothers, their relationships with their girlfriends affectionately termed "my girl," and their growing ties with their father. Great moments of bro hilarity too.

Lots of intrigue in this story, action, and sizzle. A bit anti-climatic towards the end, but my curiosity was piqued for the upcoming Davenports.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 STARS

This was a perfect conclusion to Conner and Kennedy's story!!! This whole series has been all-consuming and this book drops some more intriguing secrets! 3.75 stars, this was so close to being 4 stars.

The first 70% of the book was captivating, dark and full of angst, but after that it was building the next storyline; which didn’t really keep my interest.

Other than that though, this was a great series. I loved all the brothers, and will miss their dramas!

The conclusion to Connor and Kennedy’s story was perfect and picks up right where the previous book ended. Kennedy is sacrificing so much in order to keep Connor safe but she doesn’t care what the cost to her is, as long as he is safe that you can’t help but love her. These two might just be my favorite

Thank ffin god I finished this one!!

It was so dark and twisted! I love me some dark stories but this one just made me so damn mad!
You can't tell me they are all big bad alphas who are so scary.. Boe ffing who.. They just let it all happen just to save themselves.. I get it to some degree, but this was just to damn annoying!
My mafia books are even faster in helping and fixing.
Also in this one sex seemed to be the answer for everything.. Don't get me wrong it's all fun to read, but seriously something happens and come on lets have sex to escape.. Yep, that fixed it all.. Even when Conner was in a dark place and Kennedy was taken, they left him to go have sex.. Seriously your brother and brother in law or best friend even is suffering and you just go and make out with him in the room? Have some feelings and understanding towards his feelings.. That made me just sick and angry.. That's not love, respect and loyalty because otherwise they wouldn't have done that..

I'm sorry if my review is hard or not your opinion, but I use these reviews to vent about it.

I'm not going to lie, I wasn't a huge fan of Kennedy in Torment Her, as I thought she brought a lot of the drama on herself, which continued on In Temper Him since we picked right back up from the brutal cliffy, and it caused a great deal of horrifying consequences for her. In case you didn't realize, YOU MUST READ Torment Her (the first book in their duet) FIRST! Now that I've read the journey in all its entirety, I have realized that Kennedy has been punished enough for her decisions that didn't need to be made. Anyway, it wasn't an easy journey as Conner who would do anything for her so things really took a darker turn. It made for quite a few twists to get the f-bombs dropping so you know, I was on the edge of my seat dropping away. I'm going to keep this short & sweet because I can, plus I just want everyone to read it for themselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Welp...
This was a huge disappointment. What happened to this series? It started off really good but what is this mess? Too much push and pull. The things that happened and the drama was like a soap opera. The story was a drag and I was no longer invested into the storyline. I ended up having the audiobook on 2x speed and in the back ground.

All of these books have been a little hard to read with what these brothers had to endure in their lives, and what the women they love have had to deal with as well. But Conner and Kennedy's story was the hardest for me. Mainly because Conner is the goofy laid back brother that never really lets anything get him down. I guess most people know that smiles and joking can hide so much hurt. So finding out Conner's ways are disguising a lot of hurt was like breaking my heart. Now don't get me wrong he is the goofy brother at heart because that's just who he is, but he is still hiding so much hurt and no one really picks up on that. It was also really hard to read about what Kennedy had to endure, and then to know she was going to go through it again was like gut wrenching, big time.

I have given each of there books 5 stars because the Jagger boys just pulled me right into their little fucked up world. I'm a sucker for damaged boys what can I say?? lol. The books are just great in my opinion. I felt like I knew these characters. I hurt for them, rejoiced for them, and sat there biting my nails hoping things would turn out good for them. It's honestly hard to believe life can be so hard for some people and a lot of us only see it fiction books or movies, never really realizing there are people out there living these lives.

Possible Spoilers below!!!!!!!!!!

Temper Him is the second book following Conner and Kennedy. If you've started this series you'll realize that's how all the books work. Two per couple. In Torment Her we officially meet Kennedy, Conner's love since he was a child. Conner thought Kennedy just decided to have nothing to do with him anymore. He didn't think that his texts went unanswered because Kennedy's "boyfriend" Warren is a piece of shit. Kennedy is brought to the Jagger house beaten badly and from what the doctor finds raped as well. Conner tries so hard to get her to talk to him and let him know what happened. But Kennedy doesn't trust Conner anymore, she thinks he abandoned her, twice. (so much miscommunication) Kennedy ends up being enrolled in the prep school the Jaggers go to and getting a dorm on campus. She constantly feels like she doesn't fit in here and shouldn't be here. She takes a lot of this out on Conner, but he never wavers. He keeps trying no matter what because that's what you do when you love someone. You don't abandon them. This whole time Conner is trying to find Warren. I mean obviously he wants to kill him for what he done to Kennedy. Conner and Kennedy's relationship eventually takes a turn and they get together. They feel like they're finally getting to be happy. But then Warren shows back up and threatens not only Conner's life, but his whole families unless Kennedy comes back. So, obviously she does what any person would do, she goes back to protect the man she loves and his family. That's where this book picks up. Conner wakes to find Kennedy gone a loses his shit. Kennedy has returned to Warren and just knows he'll kill her or make her wish she was dead for leaving him. The thing is Warren has stuff on the Jaggers. He's found out things he shouldn't be able to find out. (Warren is a genius with computers) If Warren puts the things out there he's found all the Jaggers will be dead and the women they love. Warren is sick psychopath that believes he should have the life the Jagger boys have. He feels he was robbed of it so his task in life is to make them pay, especially Conner. Kennedy notices immediately that Warren is acting different, being too nice, too devoted, too patient. It makes her nervous, but not nervous enough to not sneak around with Conner when she can. I mean no one can blame them for wanting to be with him when she can. James (Conner's dad) keeps telling Conner he has a plan to get Kennedy back, but he needs him to patient and trust him. That's hard for Conner to do though knowing James is keeping secrets and that Kennedy is in danger every second she stays with Warren. I mean this is the man that beats and rapes her. So no matter what Conner can not keep himself away from her. Little do either of them know that Warren knows that they're sneaking around and is planning a trap for Conner. Warren determines the ultimate way to destroy Conner is by killing Kennedy. So on the night that the Jagger boys are supposed to be Kennedy and bringing her home Warren sets them up and takes her right under their noses. Warren tortures Kennedy and keeps her in a cage until he decides to take her out and kill her on a live camera feed. He wants Conner to see it. But he underestimates James Jagger! They're able to get Kennedy out and Warren is killed, but James' secrets are still there and he still refuses to share them. His and Conner's relationship becomes strained. He doesn't understand James is just trying to protect his sons, but we all know secrets tear people apart. Will the boys eventually figure out who James really is, thus finding out who they really are??? Hopefully the next series will shine some light and answer some of the questions Conner has for his father.

4.50 ⭐️

This book is damn near perfect but it PISSED ME OFF SO MUCH that I can’t give 5 ⭐️

This is childhood friends/lovers to “enemies - kinda of” to lovers

Let’s start by saying that I DO loved this series, it is SEXY, DARK AF, BRUTAL, EMOTIONAL, SAD, HEARTBREAKING and BEAUTIFUL I did love the first duet but it felt more like an introduction. The second duet is my absolute favorite and the third duet is amazing but the one that REALLY angered me to NO end. Did I finished in a day? YES. Was I able to put the fucking book down? NO. Did I love it ? YES. Did it absolute PISSED ME OFF ? YES IT DID!!!!
I will say that I love Conner and Kennedy is actually my FAVORITE girl, none of the girls tops her. She is tortured and brave, she is edgy and sassy. I love her story and my heart broke for her. I love how Conner fought for her and how he showed her how much he always loved her, he was truly a one woman type of man. He never had anyone else in his life, he only ever waited for her. Have said all that, hear me out when I say why it angered me so much and it’s not a 5 ⭐️
As it is a trend for me from the very first book, I couldn’t like nor forgive James. It does NOT matter to me that he was “protecting” his kids from the life that only he knows what is it since they NEVER freaking explain in this series. It’s annoying as fuck that I have to read another entire series if I want any closure. And to “protect” his sons, he is the one actually ABSOLUTELY DESTROYING their lives, those boys suffered for 18 years because STUPID FUCKING JAMES was apparently doing “the right thing”, as he was doing the “right thing” the boys were starving, living in complete poverty, been abused and sexually assaulted, becoming criminals (Ace) to be able to put food on the table. So NO I DO NOT FORGIVE NOR I LIKE JAMES, call me bitter but it is what it is. Whatever he did for them was not enough, there was so many ways he could’ve help them and he didn’t. Specially in this book when he actually nearly destroyed his son, mind you that is the only son who always gave him a pass and the benefit of the doubt, and he USED Kenny who is his son’s everything as pawn and she was brutalized, assaulted, caged and almost had a bullet in her head. So FUCK NO , I DONT LIKE JAMES (very unpopular opinion)
I also HATED HATED HATED how Ace and Cole were not really there for Conner after Conner been their absolute rock in their books. I felt like after they got their girls they actually left Conner to fend for himself and they were a little smug about it always rubbing their happiness and love on his face when he was struggling, suffering and dying inside. Mind you that his girl situation was 10 times worst than Remi and Hadley. I hated how Cole was mostly sarcastic/smug towards him when he was bleeding inside. Was it really necessary to have the Valentine’s Day little chat when Conner didn’t have his girl because she was there being abused by Warren ? Was it really fair that James, Cole and Ace stood on the sidelines because they were afraid of the consequences while Conner and Kenny were dying ? Even in the end when Conner goes to his last fight because he couldn’t deal with his anger (cause by James btw) and Ace and Cole DID NOT GO WITH HIM and Cole DARED to get angry at him afterwards. Fuck the more I remember the angrier I get. And in the end there’s no satisfying explanation……. Also did not like st all the lack of recognition and retribution to the friends from the Heights. Shelbie, Jay and Levi were pretty amazing to Kenny and Conner and after all there’s absolute no mention of them whatsoever, annoying if you ask me. But the book It is a happy ending for the couples but still frustrating. Do I recommend this series ? ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY , it is a great series. But be ready for the heartache and frustration.

GOD this was awful!!! So before I actually started reading this final book, just after the first sentence of the first chapter of Temper Him, I started to take notes on what I wanted to say in my review. This girl has no friends, no family, no place to sleep let alone a home, and no money outside of this group, BUT decides to walk away from not only the boy she's loved her entire life, but LITERALLY the only thing she actually has IN her life. And for what? The "I love you so I can't be with you because I'm not worthy of you" bullshit annoys me to no end. Look, I get that there needs to be some kind of turmoil to have that 3rd act break up or cliffhanger scene, I 100% get that. The problem with these microtrope's is it isn't necessary and only irritates me to the point I don't enjoy the story. AT ALL. In the last book, Torment Her, which is the first book in this duet, 5th in the series, and I believe the first part of Rebels at Sterling Prep Connor, Connor Kennedy, James, Sarah and all the kids never truly help Kennedy deal with the abuse that she lived with, including the rape that we actually find out happened over and over again in all of her time living with Warren. Let's not forget that her ex is nowhere to be found. He has beaten the crap out of her and raped her numerous times. YET, she isn't afraid? Afraid of him getting to her? This is how people end up murdered in horror movies. She has security. She has safety. But what does she do? Ridiculous!!
This is huge. She and Connor never work out his fear of hurting her in the same way Warren did when they are intimate. No, one helps Kennedy deal with the fact that she came from no one and nothing, and now has to be surrounded by money and opulence. This is an easy one because the 3 boys had to learn to live this new life. So much is missed here. It could have been such a great series. OH and I think at some point, Kennedy needed to have blood and urine tests run and possibly be on a HUGE dose of penicillin.

Once again we reunite with our troubled pairing Connor and Kennedy, and we learn that Kennedy has chosen to go back to the horrible man she left in order to keep those she loves and cares for safe. She thought she was doing the right thing, but she couldn't have been more wrong. Connor's family is armed with powerful weapons and they will go to great lengths to help Connor find her and bring her home. Now they just have to hope they are not to late...

Temper Him is a emotionally charged and passionate conclusion to Connor and Kennedy's story... and wow what a story it is!! My heart broke for Kennedy and the impossible decisions she made, and for Connor and the loss of the one person who has ever really understood him. These two bring fire to the pages with their white hot attraction for one another, and of course their fierce personalities. Page after page I found myself becoming completely enraptured by their heartbreaking story, it was impossible to put down once I got started. This pairing played off one another nicely, they were strong where the other was weak, sweet where the other was rough, and the compassion they had for one another was easily felt. This was such a well penned and thoroughly enjoyable duet, I loved every second I spent reading it. It may have broke my heart, but it managed to repair the damage it did and left it forever touched! If you like dark and angst-filled romances then I have no doubt you will love what you find waiting for you between the pages here! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
