Devils Den: The Reckoning

Rate this book
From bestselling author Terry Lovelace, Esq, DEVILS THE RECKONING begins with candid memories from a lifetime or experiences with ETs. He recalls early childhood abductions and his interactions with a hybrid entity he called "Sue." THE RECKONING is all new facts, images and content never before shared with the public. It tells the true story of the sad decline and mysterious death of Tobias. It includes a chapter that had been excluded from "Incident at Devils Den ..." that tells the poignent story of Terry’s cousin Gerald who endured his own childhood ET visitations and an eventual tragic outcome. Also, the true tale of Terry and his friend Ernest, who at eight years of age "borrowed" dad's handgun in an illconceived plan to shoot dead the ETs that terrified him in his room at night. Plus, recent revelations from Betty are disclosed and the December 8th "disclosure" from a retired Israeli general and academic, Haim Eshed, is discussed. THE RECKONING gives details and anectdotal evidence of an abduction from Terry's Dallas home on April 16, 2019 at 5:55 AM. Color photographs of UFOs taken near his home and satellite images of their 1977 campsite at Devild Den State Park in NW Arkansas are also included. THE RECKONING shares 30 short narratives presented as numbered "Cases" #1 through #30. These are stories distilled from 1,400+ emails submitted by readers of INCIDENT AT DEVILS DEN in the US, South Africa and Australia. Each narrative shares a unique and poignant telling of the reader's own encounter with the unknown. There are tales of screen memories and missing time, a stolen fetus, UFO sightings, mind control and alien abductions. Each story is told in the experiencer's words and vetted for veracity. Most are a compilation of many emails and telephone calls to establish the contributor's credibility. This is a collection of the best of the best from 1,400 stories shared by readers of "Incident at Devils Den ...." Below is a brief synopsis of the introduction to Case #1, "The Christmas Store," shared by a widowed retiree who goes by "Olivia." Dear Mr. Lovelace, My late husband Paul and I had an experience in March of 1968. I've never shared this story with anyone other than my sister and Paul's parents. I was a housewife and Paul was a nephrologist (a kidney doctor) who worked in private practice. We had friends in Reno, Nevada and about every month we'd make the drive from Vegas to Reno to share a weekend with friends. We always stopped in a little town called Tonopah about half-way to Reno. We'd stretch a bit, get fuel and have dinner. It was called "The Stagecoach." I believe it's still there. On this night we were three hours later than usual because Paul had been tied up at the hospital. After dinner and fuel we got back on the road about 9:00 PM and headed for Reno. About 10 miles out of town we were surprised to see a new store. It was a Christmas store. I had never before seen a store solely devoted to the holiday. The store appeared to be open as there was brilliant white light pouring out of the windows. The whole structure was draped in Christmas tree lights in assorted colors, some blinking and others not. I asked Paul to pull over. We were both mesmerized. He pulled onto the shoulder directly in front of the store. It sat back from the road a ways and the lights were incredible. It was odd. There was no parking lot! It was just sand and sagebrush. We saw no other cars, but someone was inside because we could see motion and movement through the windows. Paul noted there was no driveway for an entrance. I remarked, "Who would build a store without an egress or a parking lot?" We sat on the shoulder of the highway in front of the store for some minutes until Paul said, "This is a waste of time," and he pulled back

An excellent follow up to “Incident at Devil’s Den!” The experiencer stories were interesting and heart wrenching at times, I and I appreciated hearing more details from Terry’s experience.

Once again, giving this 4 stars for sheer entertainment value. I love these kind of stories and i would love to believe them as true accounts... But they are waay too out there for my limit about what can be real. I believe Terry Lovelace is being sincere in his telling of this story. I wonder how much can be fact and how much can be delusions.
I particularly liked some of the stories shared by readers of the previous book and i thought it was the most interesting part of the book.
If you are into UFOs and alien abductions, you should read this as well as Terry's previous book.

Great follow up to the first book. More details about the authors supposedly actual experiences with the addition of 30 more cases from the 1000s readers responding to his first book with their own experiences

Well written and intensive read.

I give this five stars because it is well written and the author certainly sounds sincere. Also, I've had my own odd experiences through my own life and have seen my own sighting of a craft that appeared to hover sound less in the night sky before making a zig zag maneuver that should only be possible in a cartoon. The only weak part of the book for me might be a strong part for someone else. The last part of the book is account after account of stories from others emailed to the author. While they are intriguing and very credible. I'm one if those people whose eyes glaze over after about five stories or accounts. I think the authors analysis of the accounts s are well done. Also, my impatience is perhaps a weaknesses on my part and not the book's part. You can judge that for yourself. Either way this is well worth the read.

Incident at Devils Den is pretty fascinating read. The second book, Devils Den: The Reckoning cranks fascinating up so high you might not be prepared for it.

If you read the first one, and I recommend you do, and you wondered what happened to his friend Toby, or is there anything Terry isn't telling us, then listen, folks, this book goes there.

Terry includes stories from people who have reached out to him. There are trends, there are new things, strange things, out of this world, unbelievable things.

Maybe I'm just a guy who wants to believe. Either way, I think this is worth the read. Check it out. You might be one of many people who relate to the different incidents in here. And if you aren't, something is still happening and whatever it is it sounds like it's worth thinking about.

Aliens reloaded.

Not my idea of a good read. However, I did like his first book. It was quite intense. This book was more factual. I intend to reread the first one, as it has been years ago that I first read it. I personally cannot relate as to why these "aliens" need to take and return victims. I read somewhere that it's an agreement that a former president of the US made with the aliens, but that seems like it would not bode well for re-election. I think it was Esienhower. Shortly after he became very popular, he must not have cared or thought it would make a difference.

Another hit!

When I saw that Terry Lovelace had written a second book, I was BEYOND excited. It did not disappoint.
I really just love Terry's writing style. It's like hearing a story being told by a close friend. He just seems so down to earth and I really like that about him.
The book was every bit as good as the first. In this edition, we get to hear about other people's accounts with this phenomenon and it is just fascinating, and sometimes frightening.

Keep up the good work Terry, can't wait for your next one!

Author is believable to me. Well written. I was alarmed at the numerous kidnappings, especially of young people, by these ETs. Many of these kids were traumatized over and over, yet went on to live apparently normal lives. Of course this makes me quite angry. Wasn't surprised by this as there are other books reporting this. The truth is not "out there". It is very much here, aided and abetted by the defense dept. This is a very good read for anyone with curiosity and courage as it will open your eyes to what has been hidden for over 1/2 a century and ridiculed by the fearful and ignorant.

The first half is an abbreviated retelling of most of the events from his first book, with some additional details and anecdotes included. Having just read the first book, I found this a little tedious.

The second half are a collection of thirty cases he has been sent to him by his readers. The variety of experiences, interpretations and reactions were pretty fascinating. Some were very bizarre. I really enjoyed them. Lovelace offers some commentary after each case, which I’m not sure added much.

Terry offers excellent, albeit concerning insight into his personal abduction experiences. It's not just the kidnapping but also (and more importantly) the reaction of his family and others. It takes a lot of guts to risk your reputation and personal safety to recount these alien incidents. I particularly liked the rest of the book where he gives voices to people who've experienced similar abductions and his analysis of each of them. He seems to be a straight up, honest guy.

I don't read a lot of books about alien abductions but the author's story is very detailed and introspective. The book also includes numerous stories from people who emailed him and experienced abductions or witnessed UFO activity. My heart goes out to them because many of these people were hurt and traumatized by the experience. No one should ever be taken against their will ever. And the government is complicit in this. I hope these experiencers receive justice in their lifetimes.

Exceptional Collection of Remarkable Experiences

Terry Lovelace has put together an astonishing collection of experiences told by many different people regarding contact with visitors unknown. Many of these occurrences are emotional and disturbing, but all point to a hidden truth. It’s told in a non judgmental way byTerry and I urge you to read it. Just like Terry first book regarding Devil’s Den, it will make you reconsider everything.

Very interesting

What a fab author! Well written and very informative. I bought the first book last week and read it quickly. Just finished reading this one within 3 days! There isn't an ounce of doubt in my mind from page 1. I would love to understand more about the reason for it all. A much deeper reason to know why it's happening and what is in store for us all.

An interesting read

I was very interested when I heard Mr. Lovelace again on my favorite podcast (astonishing legends) I loved the first book and immediately got this one on Amazon. Worth the read and very curious to hear other stories and compare. Although I also find myself a little uncomfortable after reading this one. Not sure why though.

Fascinating reading!

I have read many books about UFOs, but this is one of the most readable with a diversity of experiences. It would be valuable for both collectors as well those new to the subject. The author does not attempt to interpret the experiences, but allows them to stand on their own merits. Worth reading.

Fascinating book! I read it cover to cover and enjoyed every bit of it! Eye-opening events described in detail~including a wonderful addition of stories Terry has received from readers. When you start to see common threads among stories/witness accounts from all over it really makes you think.

Eye-Opening!

I couldn’t put this book down. Obviously something is happening in our world that involves some unknown “others.” My compassion to all those who have had these experiences and suffer because of them, suffering that is worsened by our disbelief.

For those who have read Mr. Lovelace's first book, this collection of stories, the overwhelming majority of which have nothing to do with the Devil's Den incident or Mr. Lovelace, will add little. It is not clear how this is a "reckoning," aside from the extra details about what happened to Mr. Lovelace's friend and fellow abductee at Devil's Den in the years that followed.

The rest of the book is comprised of reports emailed to Mr. Lovelace in response to his first book. They are of varying quality. However, what does emerge from them is the similarity of people's experiences. The "script" of an alien abduction is so well known at this point (brought onto a ship that is bright and clean, put on a table, subjected to unpleasant or painful tests that often center around reproductive organs) that accounts of it have lost much of their credibility as they can be easily faked or simply dreamt. As such, it is not those more sensational aspects of the accounts Lovelace includes that give one pause, but those we do not normally hear or think about: The strange apathy that strikes those about to be abducted, leading them to lie down and go to sleep even as they are witnessing something that should be at least interesting if not terrifying. The physical effects that linger for days after. The dissolution of friendships of those who experience together, despite a frequent lack of any clear memories of the event—the knowledge of shared trauma is sufficient to end the relationship (something I have seen in a friend who was attacked and badly beaten along with a group of close friends—they didn't even visit each other in the hospital and never spoke again).

All told, this is more of a grab bag of loosely-related stories with Lovelace's brief commentary, curated by Mr. Lovelace. However, as is often the case, I think his time on the UFO circuit has opened him to accepting virtually any story that comes at him, as the incredible (and implausible) has become mundane to him, and he has lost objectivity.

Those captivated/unsettled by his first book will likely find this addition disappointing, but those who seek completion will nonetheless find it a worthy addition.

I really enjoy Incident at Devil’s Den and having heard The author on several podcasts, found him to be really engaging. I’d call myself an open minded sceptic and found what happened to Terry to be very mysterious and intriguing, particularly the more physical aspects of his claims. I was keen to read the sequel, especially after hearing it contained stories that people had shared with him. However, I feel like this book was not as well written and it definitely made me a lot more cynical over the events that occurred.

A great follow up to Terry’s first book. I am intrigued by Terrys story and am glad that he is brave enough to tell it. I am looking forward to reading any future books that Terry decides to write.
