Concept was good therefore ill read the second book. The execution of it was frankly all over the goddamn place. Including the blurb which isnt even accurate to the story... little mistakes here and there the pace felt insane and hard to keep like linear i mean the entirety of the book is basically 24hrs so the title year one i really dont get given it was legit 24hrs and thats from the perspective of someone who has absolutely no clue what way is up. Weird little mistakes or wtf confusing things were when she knew that certain dudes were brothers when like we the readers hadnt been told that idk its like trying to fit so much info into such a small span of time and people and events that it was giving me a head trauma that felt like id missed things or forgotten something. The way people acted was sooooo irrational and super weird and all over the place idk like so many loose ends and unexplained things which if done well make a good mystery book thats intriguing and fun to unravel but this was like being on a roller coaster and suddenly finding out the sets are teacups that spin crazily and go up and down and just i had the dumbfounded like huh what when befuddled vibe the entire time just when things started to have some semblance of normal thered be another crazy thing like so many questions like if this chick was naked with dirt blood wounds etc then wtf wasnt she taken to the nurses/ hospital first thing? Like she was naked you telling me noone who saw her birthmark wouldmt of recognised it or when she was in the towel earlier avery wouldnt have id its so mental and mindfucking and insane that i kinda hate it like i said though the concept the generalnidea seems great like the core i there but everything else is just NOPE like ugh this needs desperately hard editing proof reading a longer time frame or at the very least some sort of pacing issues worked out like some character structure or something ugh i expect this from like first time writers or for books for like 13yos or even smutty fantasy novellas but idk its like this series is masquerading as something its not which is ironic and there was too many things going on in one book like every five fucking seconds theyd info dump or obviously hint at a new tidbit and by the end there were like 30 plot lines all unfinished tangled and jarring af let overall feeling unsatisfied and anmoyed at myself for continuing it but now i hate myself more cause i want to know how it ends like its like trashy stupid reality tv which i despise immensely but somehow ive found myself stuck to the couch watchinf an episode of bold and the beautiful and am too tired lazy bored and desperate to change the channel so i just suffer through the stupid hoping the simpsons or charmed or something will be on next. Gah.
And enemies to lovers should be a build up over time, not just I hate you to instant love. And a vampire was staked and she puke, then one of the MMC killed whole people and it was like it no big deal a day later. It also packed to much in to short time, it needed to be spread out. There was a lot of contradictories too. I will say the mystery does have me intrigued. I plan on reading the second book and see it improves and see where the author is heading with the mystery.
Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.
Storm Song is one of my go-to authors, I love her books and Silver Moon Academy is just another in a long list of books by her that I love. This book was great, it was quick, spicy, and very entertaining.
I had no idea what I was really getting into when I started this book, I mean the description is sort vague and the only thing I knew for sure is it was set in an academy and the main character had no memory "I woke up naked on the steps of Silvermoon Academy" was in the description so it had my interest. Now that I have finished SMA I can honestly say that I still don't know what's happening but it's good.
It's kinda weird reading from a character who has no memory of who she is. The fact that Kova is trying to pinpoint her own personality trying to figure out what she likes, what she doesn't, is she angry or just grump. I liked trying to pinpoint her personality and figuring things about her like she is loyal, stubborn, a tad grumpy, and has a weird sense of humor. I like Kova, she has a personality that I can generally vibe with.
The other characters are so interesting, there is super sweet Avery who is very complex, then there is the supernatural four who bully Kova from the word go. Well okay, one of them isn't bad, I actually really like Nox but the other three are a pain this includes her new roommate. However this looks like an enemies-to-lovers story and also could be a reverse harem, so I really look forward to this storyline developing because this is a slow-burn romance and I can't wait for book two. Then there is Dean who is a whole bag of questions, I have no idea where he fits in the story, there is something about him that I seem to trust and distrust all at the same time, only time will tell who and what he truly is.
The plot is amazing, I mean it's kinda genius. There is no background history for anyone, we are just flying blind, kinda just jumped in right in the middle of the story. Everyone has a secret past and as things about Kova are revealed and events start to happen I understand that something big is going on but I just don't know what. By the time the story is finished, I realize things are really just getting started. I love the descriptions of the school, the scenes with group interactions, all the magic uses, and the big mystery that reveals itself at the end.
I loved Silver Moon Academy, with angsty teens, mysterious girls, crazy supernaturals, magical powers, and things lurking in the woods it was bound to entertain me. The story ended on a pretty big plot twist and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.
I was intrigued by the story at first, but umm..by the end she is humping a vampire that just murdered multiple people.Trash!!!! Beyond that I liked the story, but after that happened, i wont be reading part two
Wow what a start to a book and a series. We meet Koda running for her life naked and with no memories what so ever. When she runs upto the gates of the academy after help. Shes rescued by Lightning and taken inside the academy to meet the Dean. From here we see the story unravel to some great twists as the story progresses and Koda tries to work things out and why she feels safe around certain people. When she saves Lennox the story twists again to create a great story that opens up alot by the end of the book. Leaving Koda and Lincoln with a cliffhanger ending. Totally recommend and can't wait for book two.
Wow this is my first book that I read from Storm Song and It was fantastic . If you like paranormal ,werewolf, witches and vampire and this books for you . I literally could not put this book down and huge cliffhanger at end and I can’t wait till Silver Moon Academy: Year 2 come out
Page 1, paragraph 1, line 1; Silvermoon Academy hit the ground running, quite literally. One of the many things I love about Stormsong is that she knows how to set a pace. Getting stuck in a book has never been so easy when it comes to her series, and this one is no exception.
I really like the sheer amount of magic/power that exists, which makes for a consistently interesting read while getting a sense of the world and filling the gaps. I am intrigued by the briefly mentioned tension between humans and paranormals, and quite frankly their utter disregard for the value of human life (lol), and really hope that’s explored further. We got the ‘why’ of it, but I definitely hope it’s explored further and perhaps even ends up tying into the bigger picture. Each character was distinctively different from the next; both paranormally and personality wise, and it was super enjoyable getting to know them all. So much was implied, hinted at or broached in this book so I’m super excited to see where it leads in the next books 😊
This was a great intro to a new series. Koda is an interesting lead and I can't wait to see where things are going with the story. Definitely a fun take on an academy story with a huge cliffhanger at the end.
Well, that was messed up. None of the characters had rational reactions . The plot was all over the place and made no sense. Naked girl shows up screaming for help, 'okay cool, lets enroll her in school.' Murder happens on campus, 'no prob, lets throw a party.' Girl saves vamp's life, vamp's best friend gets pissed for no apparent reason, goes on a murderous rampage that everyone seems to take as if he just had a bit of a meltdown and punched a hole in a wall or something. Then he makes out with main character with the blood of the victims in his mouth and was like, 'just thought you should taste the people you killed too.' Nope, nope, nope. DNF at 75%.
As a human I feel offended at all the pointless and random murder of my kind.
Wow....just wow. I finished it hoping it would adjust to a somewhat better story but no. The whole book is literally set in one day. Girl is running in the woods with no memory of herself or supernaturals. She somehow finds a school for supenaturals with probably the worst damn dean in the planet. He is like a sidekick to a group of students who completely and utterly hate the girl for no reason. And a few chapters in she is screwing the guy that hates her after he gave her a bloody kiss? He killed a crowd of people and kissed her with all their blood while blaming all those murders on her? WTH DID I READ? CAN I GIVE NEGATIVE STARS FOR WASTING MY TIME ON THIS BOOK?

What in the world... World building, pacing and characters needed work in my opinion.
MC running for her life, on deaths door, she is "rescued" by a student (why is a student rescuing people? Not explained). She is then brought to the headmaster office instead of an infirmary. Then is questioned, given a long tour of the full campus (again, she just arrived 10 min ago and injured. Suddenly shes a student?) and then drops to bed. She wakes up, runs after a guy, still hasn't showered, tended to injuries, etc. Goes off to explore and have lunch like its a normal day and shes been a student for a while. Amid that it felt to me like a low budget teen show. Cheesy dialogue, things just presented with no context.
She let's out her magic, goes to the headmaster, and is followed by students. They come in, say 3 words, search the office (again, wtf, they are students) and leave abruptly.
It really lost me when she's super randomly transported to wonderland and has s*x with a random guy. All this a day after running for her life in the wood with no memory, still unshowered and still covered in injuries.

Oh my~ AWESOME new series starter~ Kova, or so her necklace identifies her as such, shows up running, naked and scared outside the gates of Silvermoon Academy. She cannot remember anything prior to showing up there. The Dean takes her in and she gets a room with a new enemy, Nikita, a vamp. She also makes friends with Avery, a witch. She meets other vamps, Lennox, Lightning, and Lincoln. They do not like her very much for some reason. Trouble abounds every time she seems to be around. She has a very weird supernatural ability that scares everyone. They will also discover some information about her background. Girls start missing~ Weird people start showing up trying to kill the vamps. Now, the vamps all of a sudden start treating her differently, and why? Then they uncover a clue that brings even more questions to the fore...especially after seeing things~ What is she? Who is she? Why and who is she running to and from? What is the connection between her and the five others? Silvermoon Academy? I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
OK so we have Kova the mysteries girl who happened to be running in the woods completely naked and heading toward Silvermoon Acadamy, although she didn't know that at that time. She has no idea who is chasing her, all she know is that someone is and she needs to get away.
She ends up at the Acadamy where everyone seems to hate her already wtihout getting to know her. Well apart from a the Dean of the Acadamy and a girl called Avery.
Lincoln is determined to make Kova leave the academy or make her life miserable but she has no idea why.
Oh did I mention that Kova has no memories! She doesn't know who she is or even what she is. Follow Kova and Avery in her journey to trying to find her memories. What will she unlock?
This book had me hooked with the first page. Song has a way of writing that will not disappoint, this was my first time reading from this author. In this book the main character, Kova, spends most of the time just trying to figure out who and where she is and you are on the edge of your seat trying to figure it out with her while she is thrown into situation after situation. I'm usually the kind of reader that tries to put the pieces together before the author revels it but I couldn't even guess. This was a super fast read for me, cause I just wanted to know more and I finished the book in one day, then started on the next book in the series. If you love fantasy, super natural books with a dash of steamy romance give this book a read.
It’s like a medium bully academy read. I am a sucker for an awesome strong powerful FMC and this fit that perfectly. I’m not usually a fan of bully books but this didn’t read as intense as most can be. More just mean remarks. No actual physical attacks against the FMC and no serious bullying. However I do hate that she gave in to Lincoln without him apologizing for his bad treatment of her. That’s a big no no for me in bully books. The bully has to genuinely apologize for their actions and earn the fmcs affection and trust. The FMC can’t just give it to them Bc she falls for them suddenly even though their a jerk. The guy needs to work for her affection and make real efforts to correct his wrongs. Hopefully he does that.
DNF - quit at 15% Either I'm getting way too picky about books or I just keep grabbing duds lately. The book moved way too slowly to hold my attention. By page 40, I totally didn't care anymore. The academy in this book seemed like every other cliché academy book lately, everyone is stuck up and they all treat the main character like garbage. The FMC just wasn't inspiring me to care what happens to her. The RH guys hadn't even appeared in the book yet, so I couldn't even say if they had potential or not because my mind was already out of the book & thinking of other things.
At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
i can't wait to start the 2nd book i just finished the 1st book in the series last night. i stayed up to finish, lol. it starts with Kova running in the forest naked with something/someone chasing her. she runs up to the school doors and the Dean to the silvermoon academy enrolls her in to the school. its a school for the enchanted paranormal kind. she doesn't know who she is or where she came from. the dean and avery are helping her try to find who she is. slowly stuff starts to come to her in bits and pieces . i don't want to spoil anything for anyone who is currently or wants to read this book. but i really enjoyed this book, i so far have enjoyed this authors writting/stories. i would definitely recommend
Firstly, I must say the cover is absolutely gorgeous.
Now, onto the actual book. It started with us thrown into a terrifying chase - it was so thrilling and written so well that like our main heroine - I started panicking as well. However, it took a turn after that scene and the ending scene piqued my interest slightly over the mystery.
I struggled to connect with the storyline as soon as Kova entered the school, the pacing was very fast like super sonic fast. I would have preferred for it to slow down and let relationships simmer as it felt very erratic. Also, I need one of them wardrobes that magically creates clothes because that would be a life saviour!
3.5 stars I was contemplating doing a review as I follow the writer on social media and she seems like a really cool person. However, some weird part of me feels obligated. The writing was pretty average and the author managed to drag two days out into 238 pages. While the storyline is genuinely good, I was a little bored by the characters. The one smut scene that's at the end was also somewhat on the boring side to me. The character that the MC has sex with does not even TOUCH her clit and all he does is move in and out of her. It was very underwhelming and felt unrealistic (I mean... besides it being sex with a vampire lol).
The concept is good, but reads like a fever dream. There’s not ups and downs or build ups to scenarios. Its all at level 10 constant conflict. The characters aren’t worked out well and are all over the place. This needs more structure and editing. I also suggest pacing the story. The first book could probably be two really good books if it was slowed down, had more character and world building happening. I really do think the idea is fantastic. There’s so much lore and can really be worked into a great read. I won’t be reading further than book 1. If this story ever was revised and more depth was added I would definitely love to try again.
Book one introduces us to Kova, a girl with no memories of herself or anything that is going on. She finds herself at Silvermoon Academy, a school for the paranormal, and meets a few students who immediately take to hating her, until she defends one of them against a hunter who tried to stake one of them. Now they need to figure out who's trying to kill students and who Kova is. This book focuses on the story and there wasn't much romantically or sexually happening until the end. The book is great and sets you up to enjoy the story for the next book.
In this book we follow Kova (I like this name, it's original) who ends up in an academy for paranormals after having fled a mysterious threat. Problem: she's lost her memory and doesn't even remember her name! I like the concept. The fact that Kova has lost her memory adds a lot of suspense in the book and makes it interesting. The more the story goes, the more we discover how Kova's past is complicated which is sometimes a bit confusing! The relationship with the guys just begins in this book, nothing is settled yet. Be careful, the blurb doesn't really fit the plot... (>﹏<)
4.5 stars. Kova is running from something that she can't remember and ends up at the Silvermoon Academy. The dean lets her stay and Kova starts making friends and enemies. For some reason some of the vamps don't like her.
Decent world building and mysteries about who Kova is, where she came from and what happened to her memories. Oh, and there's also someone murdering students.
Fairly slow burn although there's some sexy times at the end.
Usually while reading I can always guess which way the book is going to go. I have absolutely no problem with that because it's still good. But THIS book honestly had me assuming I knew, then proving me wrong. The very beginning had me cringing imaging the pain on myself. I found myself chuckling and even laughing out loud. I'm excited to see how this series is going to go. About to start book 2 now!
Oh my God! I thought nothing could beat elemental eden but wow I loved this book so much. I love the mystery of it and the chemistry between the characters. All of them were written with their own unique back story its obvious that they aren't just there to give the main character something to do but they hold their own in the book. I especially loved she is really a gem and I can't wait to get to know her better and of course all the other ones as well.
This is clearly a book meant to keep the readers in suspense but it’s not going about it right. One she confused and list but in the span of two days she’s slept with two guys and kissed three. It’s so unrealistic even for a paranormal which I read often. It has good potential but I definitely think the rating on good reads is more accurate then the rating on Amazon.
Silvermoon Academy: Book One had a rocky start for me—I was confused a lot, especially during the wardrobe scene with Chess (I had to reread it to make sure I wasn’t tripping!). But once the story got going, it picked up, and I really started to enjoy Kova and her bold, fiery attitude. Despite some unclear moments, the paranormal mystery and character dynamics kept me interested.
This was a good beginning to this series. Definitely a slow burn as the steam factor was towards the end. And the book is on the dark side for people who don’t deal well with violence. But since I’m a twisted bitch I enjoyed the violence and darkness. I’m looking forward to where this series will lead and am hoping for more sexy naked fun in the next book.
This is my first Storm book and I will say not my last. The beginning will have you like "wait!!! What is happening?" The Story just sucks you in so you keep reading. Kova is a surviver and her powers are freaking amazing. The way it ended is screamed WHAT!!!! So happy the next book is available so I can continue. Storm Song thank you for an awesome read. Highly Recommend
