Mustang is book 3 of 5 in the Montana Bad Boys Series by the queen of Erotic Romance and Rough Cowboys, Piper Stone.

Piper once again blew me away with Mustang. The level of real emotions she is able to write all while making this book so sizzling hot is unbelievable and I LOVE her for it!

This Montana Bad Boys Series has honestly brought such joy to my life. Each book was so fascinating, breathtaking, thrilling and captured such depth of emotion! I still remember Scorpion and Hawk. I would highly suggest reading this beautiful series in order. Each book is a stand-alone and you don’t have to read the prior books in order to understand.

When I was reading the Mustang POV scenes I was in awe of how well this woman could write a man’s perspective like this. I can’t even fathom how difficult it must have been, however Piper Stone wrote the hottest, sexiest, rough cowboy with all of these Montana Bad Boys and Mustang is no exception. He is so delicious, big, rough, yet has such a good heart. He managed to steal Danni’s heart.

The way Piper writes a sex scene is just perfect. With all of the various books she’s written, I loved that she still manages to surprise us with new erotica, rather than recycling old material. With each book, I get a new scene, new ideas, new feelings of lust love and utter passion that takes over you.

Danni is the new vet in town. Back in Missoula Montana after moving back east. She runs into this rough cowboy at an auction and isn’t very nice to him at first. Their chemistry upon meeting is instant, raw and written so beautifully perfect, that you can FEEL every emotion within the minds of Danni and Mustang. Danni and Mustang are instant push/pull. The banter, the sexual inuendoes and Mustang’s rough exterior mixed with Danni’s are epic together.

I rooted for this couple so hard. This book is thrilling, suspenseful and oh so HOT! I loved every minute of this epic read.

I can’t get enough of the Montana Bad Boys Series!!! Everyone needs to read these books. They are NSFW & have erotic discipline scenes. Mmm yes please!
Damn, I never want this series to end. Each book has its own level of emotion that it brings out of you.

Wait till you read the next one book 4, Reaper’s story. I actually read it prior to Mustang and let me tell you, Reaper is SO rough you will LOVE him.

Shout out to Piper Stone for being such an amazing writer.

I found this outstanding disciplinarian romance very entertaining to read & it kept my attention until the end. The plot is suspenseful, well-written & very intriguing with good scene descriptions & world building. In particular, I was really amused with the main characters (Mustang & Danni) attitudes & how they really stuck sparks off each other with their opposing personalities but they absolutely complimented each other. There is good support from the secondary characters.
There is: a domineering ex-marine turned cowboy (Holt Wills aka Mustang) is not impressed with the attitude of a very feisty young female veterinarian (Danni) & quite prepared to teach her a lesson by disciplining her before claiming her for his very own, action, adventure, drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, mystery, secrets, deceit, betrayal, PTSD, friendship, camaraderie, disagreements, defiance, memories, danger, threats, enemies, confrontations, schemes, discipline, spankings, punishments, frustration, anger, protectiveness, surprises, steamy scenes, love, contentment & a satisfying conclusion. I would definitely recommend this romance to people who enjoy reading this genre.

Piper Stone has once again brought two very strong personalities together in 'Mustang', the third book in the "Montana Bad Boys" series. This can be read as a standalone but really, why would you if it meant missing all the juicy bits of Hawk's and Scorpion's stories before this? As you've probably guessed by now, Mustang was part of the original group in the Marines and carries his own scars, guilt, and nightmares. He's also extremely alpha, dominant, and opinionated and yet can be chivalrous when needed. Hawk had asked him to come work for him on the ranch because he was one of the few people Hawk felt he could trust. That didn't mean Mustang didn't have to prove himself though. Danni is a veterinarian who has been away for several years and has recently returned to find out something, although she doesn't quite know what yet, is going on with the farm animals. She's quite bold, loud, opinionated, strong-willed, and tenacious. These qualities are what keep her investigating the situation even after she's riled up every cowboy in the area AND been disciplined by Mustang. The story is filled with drama, angst, action, and adventure all while being wrapped up in secrets and mysteries. Not to mention the chemistry that comes with domestic discipline. This was a great read and now I'm wondering who is next.

I cried a tear at the end of the book. That last scene was very poignant. There was a lot of action, suspense, controversy and betrayal but the author still managed to put in some steamy scenes and for Mustang and Dani to fall in love.

This is a rough romance. Or maybe not quite a romance. It is a lot of lust and that makes it rough. And aspects of a BDSM relationship that doesn't actually acknowledge itself. A spanking before they know each other's name opens the meet. A vet whose more of an investigative journalist who's supposed to be growing her business.
It's a harsh joining with spankings and then hard sex. There is little to no preparation between them, just a slam, bam, not even a thank you ma'am between them. But they work together even while sniping and threatening.
The end is sharp and comes along quickly. I can't say I enjoyed it, but it wasn't a bad read. Just abrupt and rather painful.
If you like rough pair-ups that don't have much development between the characters, this series if for you.
It is relatively free of edit errors and for that I was thankful to be able to stay into the story to the end.

Danni meets Mustang at a cattle auction and spark fly between them, good and bad. He then ends up giving her a spanking. Fast-paced read with plenty of drama, emotion and intense chemistry. A good read.

Heroes. Monsters. Sinners and saints.

🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤
This book gave me so many Lora Leigh vibes. If you’ve read any of the Nauti series (especially #1-3) you’ll get what I mean. Minus the whole sharing between cousins think, lol, this feels like it was cooked in the same pot.

The series is going to center around at least 5 guys, all ex-military, there is going to be a small town full of cartoonish bad guys who are equal parts silly and creepy. There will be sex scandals, OTT violence, murder, familes airing long forgotten dirty laundry and a lot of porn-y sex scenes.

Danni and Hawk have the love/hate trope going for them when they each jump to conclusions about the other. First impressions set off both their tempers and things happen pretty much instantly. Their explosive chemistry (that leads to a lot of steamy sexy times!) lands them both at the right place and time to catapult them into a twisted revenge plot that paints a target on both their backs.

There was a lot of back and forth, who-dunnit and some weird twists and turns that surprised me but also didn’t pack as big a punch as I was hoping for.

Overall, it was definitely a rough romance. Those scenes were actually hot and I liked the scenes while they were happening, not so much Hawk’s pushing his-way-or-the-highway approach. Luckily for him, Danni liked it otherwise this would have bordered on dubious consent and rape-y a few times.

Not for me. This is the second book by this author but I think it’s destined to be the last. We just aren’t clicking. I needed more of that emotional build up. I don’t mind a rough around the edges Hero but he has to have that soft tender side, even if only his heroine sees it. That never really came across for me and it made it all seem more erotica than romance.

I liked the strong connection of friendship and the emotional side of these guys surviving and learning to live again after the tragic loss of their friend. That was serious gut wrenching and the author did an awesome job of making you feel their despair and their grief. I also really loved the pups in the story. Definitely a nice touch 😊

Heat Level: 4/5

Emotional Moment: Apollo visiting Snake 😥

I listened to the audiobook version by Piper Stone with narration by Thomas Locklear.

Piper deals with so much in her writing. In this book, we see how PSTD takes ahold of even the unconscious self and how animals instinctively know how that person feels, and how they want to help.

Mustang is all alpha and fiercely protective of Danni which is Uber hot. These two are smouldering hot with one another. Danni is a tenacious veterinarian who just wants answers but is only getting threats instead.

I love how Piper layers her stories and gives you just the right amount of additional info to make you think ‘oh I know what’s going on’ and wham that wasn’t it and she gives us another twist.

This was quite the storyline and kept me on the edge of my seat for this third book of The Montana Bad Boys series. It’s awesome to see how all of the guys rally round when there’s trouble for anyone of them, and are there just to an awesome friend. These bad boys served their country and now they are back in the state they grew up in. Hopefully they all return! All except Snake, their fallen brother.

Loved all the dogs in the book too, who stole my heart as well.

Thomas is amazing at provoking such an emotional performance that just takes you away into a book. His characters are all so distinct and realistic when he does them. It’s like listening to a play done by several actors.

This author and narrator combo are the very best! If you haven’t heard any of the collaborations you need to get on it! This would be great on it’s own. But if you follow along it’s best read/listened to in order.

This is the third story in the Montana Bad Boys series, but can definitely be read as a stand alone. It is an exciting book about a veterinarian and a Marine Veteran. The animal doctor, Danni, is a shapely, outspoken, even abrasive female who has returned to Montana after being away for several years. Mustang is one of the Bad Boys who is totally dominant and expects Danni to obey him well before they have anything close to a relationship. This is the part of the story that I don't like. There is no consent in the beginning when Mustang thoroughly and harshly disciplines Danni, but he brings her to her knees, and although she says she is going to get him back, she makes no attempts to do so. Other than that, it is a story of intrigue, where Danni knows something untoward is going on in the cattle industry in her new location, and she is not at all certain that Mustang and/or his partner Hawk, also a Bad Boy is not involved. So despite Mustang's displeasure she keeps investigating things on her own, and she doesn't share all she knows because she doesn't completely trust him. But with the help of an injured dog that Mustang brings to Danni for help, and Mustang doing his best to keep her safe, they do find their way to at the very least respect and trust one another. The ending happens rather quickly and abruptly, but the ends are tied up.

This was a wonderful addition to this series, thoroughly enjoyed
I loved reading this book it was a great addition to the previous books in the Montana Bad Boys which I found to be a totally riveting read from the start to the very end and there is not one moment that you are not kept guessing and also reading as quickly as possible to discover what the outcome will be.
The plot is full of suspense and humour and I assure you that without a doubt it is the two main characters Mustang and Danni and the way in which they seem to rub each other the wrong way and sparks often fly without warning.
Holt who is one of the accompanying characters is a solid man that brings with him a very dominant character and is not shy in seeing that when appropriate Danni is disciplined thoroughly as and when she deserves to be punished.
This story is filled with lots of action and adventure along with a multitude of secrets and mysteries and lots of twists and turns and it is simply impossible to miss various relationships that have built up within the various situations.
This was a wonderful read and it leaves you wondering what will happen in future books within this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Mustang has returned home from Afghanistan to join his friend Hawk on his cattle ranch in Missoula, Montana. At a cattle auction, he encounters Danni, a woman with a whole lot of chutzpa, and not a lot of common sense. She makes a lot of local cowboys and ranchers angry when she starts throwing around allegations of animal abuse. She is a veterinarian who has been getting threatening middle of the night phone calls, warning her off her investigation.
Even though Mustang does not particularly like her, he finds himself drawn to her, and punishing her for putting herself in danger constantly. He also finds himself trying to protect her as she gets deeper in over his head, and he finds links between his friend, himself, and the danger she faces.
This book can be read as a stand alone, but is the third book in the series. While each book focuses on one couple, there is an overarching plot. Piper Stone has included her signature rough-around-the edges Hero, feisty heroine, with lots of spankings and rough sex. I would not have it any other way. It is a book I stayed up way to late into the night reading, and would do it again. Piper Stone does these stories justice, and she is one of the handful of authors I will read based on her name alone.

This little filly doesn't have a lick of self-preservation, so when she goes kickin'up dust and slinging accusations left and right about cattle theft and multi-million dollar fraud to a bunch of good ol' boy ranchers, she almost gets decked. Danni is spit'n bad and blinded by the injustice but too bratty back down, instead she just points fingers at anyone at the castle auction wearing a cowboy hat and a buckle (so basically everyone).

Mustang is taken by the fiery girl with the feisty spirit, but decides to intervene when she almost causes a fight. It's them he realizes she needs a firm hand and he's just the cowboy to give it to her. The heat of their chemistry is enough to cause a wildfire in the dead of summer, but they butt heads like no one's business.

She refuses to let anyone tell her what to do, even though she may be in danger. He is a damage solider who is plagued by nightmares. Will these two be able to heal each other?

PS has brought us back to the bad boys of Montana, in another story that is steamy with dark elements as well as action and growth. It's a well-rounded story that will have feeling peace for the character by the end

One of the bad boys “Mustang” aka Wills Holt in book three in Bad Boys of Montana Series has returned home from Afghanistan to join his friend Hawk on his cattle ranch in Missoula, Montana. Mustang is at a cattle auction when he comes across a very verbal, feisty, gutsy, woman that doesn’t appear to have much common sense to back up her mouth so Mustang feels the need to step in and defend her but she refuses to let anyone tell her what to do, even though she may be in danger. Danni is the new to town local Veternarian that is being sucked into believing there is animal abuse going on within these ranchers and the auctions. As Mustang and Danni try to solve the mystery, they start to fall in love. A rough and extremely intense story that is also entertaining and emotional. The characters are believable and the chemistry is red hot right out the door! This story is peppered with suspense, danger, discipline, passion, drama, threats, good twists and quite a bit of rough sex and long hard spankings. I found the ending on this one emotional for me. Such a good story. One of my favorite authors. A must read.
Anxiously waiting for at least two more in this series?? I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, and shenanigans the good kind that makes you keep turning the pages till last page has been turned. These two are a hot mess they seem to wrong each other the wrong way but in doing so the attraction sparks seems to fly. Danni feels wronged and insist on blaming every cowboy out there for the injustice and she is a brat about it who hasn’t yet learned how to shut up and back down especially when what she is stating isn’t the whole truth so to speak. Mustang steps in only when she almost causes a fight to break out and realizes she just needs a firm hand and someone strong enough to bring her to a yield and he is the person for the job. I love Danni’s character she is strong and not afraid but also very naïve to the dangers around her and it is a good thing he is a solider and willing to protect her even from herself. Is it enough can he protect her, and can she heal him and is there happiness for the two of them?

Coming home can lead to love, but danger haunts their every step. Danni gets a rough welcome home when the first veterinarian call she receives leads her down a path that is just the tip of a dangerous ice berg, landing her across Mustang’s lap when pushes too far. Mustang may be home after the war working at Hawk’s ranch, but he still battles the nightmares from that last mission & though he knows it’s a bad idea, he just can’t get Danni off his mind. Danni just can’t stop riling up the ranchers with her accusations, putting an even bigger target on her back as she’s determined to find the evidence to put an end to their scheme. When Mustang finds out about the threats made against her, he’s determined to keep her safe and he’ll show Danni he’s man of his word as he shows her just how rewarding her punishments can be when she defies him once again. When Danni is taken captive, Mustang will needs to use all his army training if he wants to make it out alive with the fiery vixen who has stolen his heart.

Danni knows something is wrong. She's being "warned" - threatened, actually - but can't stand the idea that animals are possibly being hurt or abused, so she keeps irritating the wrong people. Mustang is domineering, bossy, pushy, and can't possibly fall in love with this feisty woman. They have an amusing way between them. I love how even though she ends up submitting to him, she still pushes the boundaries, testing the limits of his patience. One thing I really appreciated was when Danni finally tells Mustang what she knows, she lays it out very clearly, reminding me (as the reader) exactly where they stand. The suspense has a few twists and turns, catching me off-guard a time or two. Of course, the animals steal the show at times, especially her traitorous dog, Zorro, who trusts Mustang from the beginning. I missed reading Scorpion; it's now on my TBR, and hope to read it before the next bad boy book is released.

Mustang is dealing with PTSD from the last rescue mission that ended up with Snake’s death along with others that were being held prisoner. Returning to the states, he meets Danni who is getting in over her head because she is asking questions that others want left alone. Mustang is working hard to keep her safe but she has a tendency to confront people with no regard for her own safety. Discipline is something Mustang has no problem dishing out when Danni puts herself in danger. The instant attraction between the two of them makes for a great read, then add to that the danger and trying to uncover the reasons for the threats. This is a great read that holds your attention. By the end of the book, the mystery has been solved and Danni and Mustang have attained their HEA. I loved the book and would recommend it as a great read.

I would give this 3.5 stars. I can say that it was obvious Danni wanted whatever Mustang was offering her. Despite her comments to the negative, she consistently went along for the ride.

I thought it was interesting that Danni was so suspicious of some people and when she should have been seeing red flags all around her, she was oblivious.

I felt like I got bits and pieces of the mystery, but not enough information to pull into a coherent thread. When it was all wrapped up, there were a couple things mentioned that I remembered from Hawk's book. I couldn't really put a name to all of the culprits because some of them weren't prominently featured in the book.

I think this book can be read as a standalone. If you have any issues with spankings, intense sexual scenes, or dominant alpha males, take a pass on this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed and was entertained by this book by Piper Stone. It
stood out for the complexity of the characters, the plot with it's sprinkle
of humor and it's level of intensity.

I have to say that I thought Dani had a death wish at times going toe to toe
against Mustang. He was determined to teach Dani some manners, and in
short order, she experienced his hard brand of discipline.

You could not possibly be bored with this book. It's overflowing with suspense,
more ups and downs than a roller coaster, danger, steamy sex, and spankings.
Mustang oozed testosterone, and I loved his dominance. Dani was one feisty
girl with a penchant for finding trouble.

This whole series has explored the effects of PTSD, also the lifelong friendships
made by the men in this excellent series. Bring on the next book.

Mustang is the third book in Piper Stone’s Montana Bad Boys series. In this book we meet two strong lead characters—Danni Brexton and Holt Mustang” Willis. She is the new veterinarian who stumbles on to a cattle fraud that endangers animals. He is a returning ex-marine. Both have emotional scars. She was betrayed by an ex-boyfriend. He suffers from PTSD and survivor’s guilt over the lost of his buddy, Snake. Two more different personalities could not exist as these two. There is an electrifying chemistry betwixt them. These lead characters and the supporting characters are quite believable. I enjoyed Ms. Stone’s dual plot line. The major plot line is the suspense behind the cattle fraud. As the plot unfolds, readers learn the key players behind it and their motivations that drive them in their corrupt deeds. The sub plot carries it is the romance between Danni and Mustang. This was a very enjoyable read. Well done, Ms. Stone.

Mustang is an over the top, alpha male who is a former bad boy reformed by the marines. After a mission gone wrong he is home to start over. Danni is a new comer to Montana, she lived there as a child and returns knowing only one friend from her past and she is starting a vet clinic. Their meeting and encounters from the start are explosive and steamy with lots of spanning g involved. There is something going on with the ranchers in town and Dani gets pulled into it and she unwittingly brings Mustang in also. There is a ton of steam and a good plot with mystery and suspicion all around. Its a solid book that keeps you engaged from start to finish. I did not read the first two books in the series and it's not necessary for this book.

Mustang is a steamy western romance wrapped in suspense, passion, intensity, drama, and charged emotions. The story had me hooked within the first few minutes. Aside from being fabulously written, it's well-plotted, gripping, captivating, and wholly riveting. The characters are remarkably appealing, a super sexy and domineering cowboy and a high-strong, independent veterinarian. Together, they are perfect, an explosive compound, red-hot passion and flaming desire.

A stellar performance by Thomas Locklear! He slips into the characters, portraying their connection and emotions flawlessly, further engaging the listeners. Piper Stone and Thomas Locklear are both master storytellers and make a Terrific author and narrator team. Mustang is a hot listen and definitely worth it, one I'm highly recommending.

Danni meets Mustang at a cattle auction and that is the start of their explosive love/hate relationship. Mustang is attracted to Danni but, at first, she mostly annoys him. That is why he gives her a spanking in a semi-public parking lot. Danni is outraged, but intrigued as well. As Mustang and Danni try to solve the mystery, they start to fall in love. Mustang has PTSD issues from his time in the Marines that Danni starts to help him with. You do not need to read the first two to enjoy this book, but there is the continuing mystery that threads through all of the books. Even though Mustang and Danni have a HEA, there is a HFN for the mystery.

Talk about fireworks
Dear me this book is explosive from the very first chapter. Mustang And Danni just rub each other up the wrong way you’ve got two people trying to be Alpha. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. You’ve got Mustang who has just got out the military, who has got his own problems and then you’ve got Danni who is a brat and explosive and doesn’t care who she upset so riled up. She doesn’t care that what she saying Is getting her into danger. No one was going to tell her to stop well Mustang has different ideas. I knew this book was going to be good from the very first spanking and I was absolutely hooked!!!!!! A brilliant read.

Mustang is shocked when a beautiful woman at the cattle auction starts to bad mouth him.
Ex-Marine Mustang still had nightmares and flashbacks about a mission gone wrong that resulted in the death of a brother-in-arms and currently working with another Brother-in-arms running the Big Meadow Ranch. He was attending a cattle auction to buy some stock for the ranch when a beautiful woman starts bad mouthing him in front of everyone. When he catches up with her later she is still unrepentant about what she had said so he puts her over his knee and gives her a spanking.and a kiss but finds it hard to forget her after he leaves.

Our heroine bites of more than she can chew when she tries to confront the rancher. Now he is going to teach her a thing or two.

This is book three of the series but it is written as a standalone. No prior reading required.

This is an romantic suspense story with elements of D/S (primarily spanking). The story is well written and easy to read with a fairly simple setting and two somewhat complex characters. There is more than meets the eye for both the hero and heroine and it was rather fun watching them untangle it. I found the story to be very engaging and quite enjoyable. We also get a nice bit of steam along the way which was another plus. Overall, a very enjoyable read.

Highly recommended.

This story has everything, romance, hot sex, mystery, a vet and puppies what more could a reader want. Piper Stone has outdone herself combining an exciting mystery that involves Hawk and Mustang with a love story between Mustang and Danni the new veterinarian who initially despises Mustang but the connection between them cannot be ignored and when Danni is threatened all Mustang’s protective instincts kick in. Although he is plagued by the memories of Snake he manages, with Danni’s help, to manage his PTSD and the surprise she arranges for him with the help of Scorpion and Hawk will bring you to tears and the ending will have you sobbing. A really good read that is hard to put down.

The main character for me was Apollo.
Mustang is one alpha male and you know right from the first meeting Danni is going to be in some serious trouble. Where this is full and I mean full of hot steam it is also suspense with danger tale. This well-written and intriguing piece was so good. There are issues of PTSD that the author tackles and a headstrong lady who puts herself into some really dangerous situations and yes this tale has a discipline component. I enjoyed the strong characters and an interesting storyline. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Veterinarian Danni just moved to a small town. She's barely there and already she's being warned away and she knows something is going on there. It's something that is hurting animals and that's something Danni will never condone. Then she gets on the wrong side of a cowboy. Not just any cowboy, but an ex-marine called Mustang. Before she feels his belt on her bare bottom. He's tough and he's disciplined and he likes to discipline Danni. Mustang and Danni both have their demons but maybe they can work together on the mystery going down in town while exploring each other. Hot read
