In the small Montana town, Jacob and Rosa begin to build a life. But dangers of the frontier lure at every corner, threatening to destroy a relationship that has just started to blossom.
Will Jacob and Rosa survive the dusty dangers to live happily ever after?
Dan Mavis, a schoolteacher in the small town of Bear Creek, Montana, believes the only way he’ll finally marry is if he mail-orders a wife. His elegant female colleague, Phoebe James, strongly disagrees.
After having her heart broken one too many times, Phoebe finds herself falling for a handsome educator, a man strikingly different from those who’ve previously courted her.
Just as Dan starts noticing the beautiful assistant and things start heating up between them, Dan’s advertisement reaches a woman keen to take up his offer.
Dan’s mail-order bride shows up at the worst moment, ready to break the starry-eyed couple apart.
Will this dramatic interruption ruin Dan and Phoebe’s best chance for a happily-ever-after?
When Edward James settled in Bear Creek to manage the mines, he didn’t plan on falling in love. Since the moment he met Morning Sun, his world has been turned upside down and he wants nothing more than to worship the Sioux beauty and be a devoted husband.
But the call of the tribe is strong.
Morning Sun loves Edward with all her heart, but her loyalty lies with her tribe.
Can she really ask Edward to give up his life to live with the Sioux? Does Edward love her enough to leave behind the life he built?
As doubts and fears plague the couple’s minds, the US military plans to banish the Sioux to a reservation, taking Morning Sun away from Edward forever.
If they run away together, they can save their love, but what will become of the tribe?
Can their love survive the harshest of tests?
In Bear Creek Brides: Books 1-4, you’ll find four exhilarating stories of how one brave act of venturing into the unknown can change your destiny.
I am a shameless romance addict with no intentions of ever kicking the habit. Growing up I dreamed of entertaining people and taking them on fantastical journeys with my acting abilities, until I came to the realization as a college sophomore that I had none to speak of. Another ten years would pass before I discovered a different means to accomplishing the same dream: writing stories of love and passion for addicts just like me.I have always loved romance stories and I try to tie all the elements I like about them into my writing.
Deviating from my usual reads, this box of 4 novels was a nice change of genre. Set in the "wild west" during the United States' formative expansion time we get to see four different couples get together, build a community, and spread positive moral values to the budding town of Bear Creek. Each of the women have left life as they know it to begin afresh with one of the Bear Creek men.
Books 1-4 overall review: I really liked the positivity and resiliency of all the townsfolk. While the plot and conflict was not too complex, the focus was really on the type of people and how they solve problems together instead of on the drama of the conflict. Sometimes it read a little slow and a bit too sugary - but there is a time and place for different styles of writing and this sweet set of stories was what I needed to truly feel faith in humanity again. On the other end of my review, while i loved the character Black Bear and his tribespeople, I did not like how they were portrayed as mystical mythical people who only served to elevate the consciousness of the settlers. American history has a way of mythicizing any groups that don't follow traditional Christian culture, and it felt like the natives were more portrayed more for their helpfulness to the settlers and the story overlooked a lot of real anger and hurt they must have felt until the very last book.
My favorite characters so far have been Phoebe and Dan - who had the most real relationship conflict and portrayal of emotions. They faced their emotions as irrationally as a normal person would and without the "wise knowledge" of someone who knows the outcome before they know it.
My least favorite character has been Jenny - as her adjustment to Bear Creek life and approach to take anything that comes her way without an ounce of resistance or negative apprehension seems fake. She seemed like such a flat character.
Overall, I enjoyed this cozy read, however I am glad i got this on Stuff Your Kindle day, as I don't think I would be purchasing any more of the Bear Creek stories.

Listened to audio narrated by Alan Taylor. He's easy to listen to, but I would have liked a bit more dynamics in the narration.
These four books are sweet romances, simply told and include a dash of danger. The men are from a small town that grew from gold mining, there are few woman and they each place an ad for a mail order bride. The women are from the East and face a variety of challenges, including making friends with the nearby friendly Sioux Indians and dealing with the dangers of prejudice and the local wildlife.
I would have liked a bit more complexity and emotional range from the various characters. The dialog and narration felt like it was written for a much younger audience.
I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Alan Taylor, is fantastic!
Book 1 – The story for this book is quite interesting. I thought it fantastic and a great and perfect start to this series, Bear Creek Brides.
Book 2 – I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Alan Taylor is fantastic!
I loved the realness of this story. Trying to write with a broken arm, then the person reading it thinking, whoa, what is happening. I loved the relationship between the character and her employer.
Book 3 – I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Alan Taylor was fantastic!
This book was great. Loved it. There was a bit at the beginning and I thought ok. The person is our heroine. Then the story progresses wonderfully. Then bam, this person shows up. I had actually forgotten about her. That was funny because of her personality. I loved the characters and story of this book!
Book 4 – I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Alan Taylor is fantastic!
This was an excellent book. The characters of course are great, you can’t expect anything less from this author. The story was great and incorporated real-life historic events, like the army rounding up Indians and putting them on the reservation. There were a few twists I did not see. I would say this book is a bit more complicated and detailed than others this author has written so far in this series, but it needs to be. Excellent. I look forward to reading/listening to more in this series.
It's a nice mostly clean series. There is some violence, and the word "h*ll" is mentioned a few times. The major problem is when you download the Audible and Kindle versions. It's not a good idea if you use the two together to learn English or to learn to read. The narration changes some of the sentences and adds to or removes words from what's on the screen. The narrator is okay, but I'm not a fan of male narrators doing female character voices. Also, he uses very few accents. (One character did fake a southern drawl.) The characters from Boston don't have that distinctive silent "r" accent.
(I changed my mind about the narrator. At least his female characters kind of sound female. The female narrator of Books 5-8 makes everyone sound almost alike. None of the male characters sound male at all. I've heard other female narrators do a better job.)
I enjoyed this set. The stories are very well written. I have great respect for all people regardless of race or creed. However, this being set as Christian fiction, I think it is important to remember that Jesus said no one comes to the Father except through Him. My concern is that we not try to mix Christianity and the Indian way of worship. Nor should we simply leave anyone alone and not introduce them to Jesus. Just as importantly, while introducing Jesus we should not be guilty as our ancestors were, in trying to change a peoples culture. Having only read the first four books the author may deal with this topic in later books. All that being said I recommend this series.
The town of Bear Creek has many town folks that have become good friends with the Sioux Indian chief and some of the braves. This doesn't set well with all the towns people. In a crisis the Sioux tribe has come to help the town. In time the Indians decide they want to learn the English language. These books cover the peoples stories that live in Bear Creek and how they came to be.
Enjoyable reading with western romance and excitement and danger around many corners.
A great western romance. The mine owner, who is half-Sioux falls in love with Morning Sun of Brown Bear’s Sioux tribe in the Montana mountains above the town of Bear Creek. A disapproving father, cavalry that come to move the tribe to a reservation, and a murder within the tribe all must be resolved if Edward and Morning Sun are to find happiness. Wonderful small town with interesting characters to keep the action moving. A clean family romance.
Bear Creek Brides: Books 1-4 from Amelia Rose is a fantastic historical clean romance that takes place in the wild west. It is a look in life in times of those pioneers in America. It is very nice to dream back to this time and take a look. It is a well-written series and with great characters that you learn to know very much. I find the stories so fascinating that I can hardly lay down the book and I start quickly with part 5.
Amelia Rose has such a wonderful imagination! When I read her stories I feel like I am right there with her characters. The stories are so interesting that I just can’t stop reading. I want to know what is going to happen next. The stories are rich with many different personalities. I can’t stop reading. There are so many twists and turns in the plot. Amelia Rose you have been blessed it’s an awesome gift of storytelling.
I really enjoyed these books. Each story was interesting and had good characters and issues that kept my interest all the way through. I most appreciated the community spirit where everyone looks out for the interests of others. Brown Bear & White Raven were my favourites. They show great heart, wisdom and integrity. Was nice getting a glimpse of Sioux living as well. Looking forward to the rest if the series.
I read the first 4 books of this series. I kind of wish I hadn't. Much of it is redundant and not necessarily good for the story. By the time I got to the 4th I was ready to give up and basically fast forwarded to the end. I don't like to give a poor review, so I am sorry. No I will not go for the 5th.
Great series all are excellent reads, highly recommend.
All four of these books were great reads. I enjoyed all of them. This writer is wonderful. I really enjoyed book for as I have native American ancestry in my heritage. This writer did an awesome job on all books in the series. I could not put this down. I can’t wait to read more in the series either.
MS Rose continues to expand her stories of westward expansion...
Each one is caught up in the growth of Bear Creek. The stories are easy to fall into but still carry their own weight. Her writing is flawless a d makes a very goodread. Thanks for sharing your talent. I read from Kindle unlimited. Looking forward to the next set of the series!
Four stories that just blew me away! Each story unique in its telling but all based around the same town. I loved the people, warm and genuinely there for each other including the Indian tribe that lives by them. Its a don't miss, now I can move on to the next four adventures.
Audiobook Version Absolutely lovely stories. I enjoyed each of these stories. They are well written and the narration was perfectly performed. Great characters and intriguing plots. Each of the stories contained a bit of drama, various emotions, some active scenes and plenty of comical relief. I definitely recommend this boxset.
If ya really like romance that ya wouldn't mind sharing with anyone this is for you. These are all good without having to skip over pages cause it's too detailed in some areas. Folks this is awesome without being x-rated. Thank ya for writing such good books. I really appreciate stories like these.
I finished book #1 about Matthew and Jenny. I skimmed a lot of the repetitive parts. It's a lovely story. I enjoyed it, but a lot of hashing over the same thoughts. I did find though skipping past all that extra stuff and just reading the story. :) I will probably come back to the Deer Creek Brides. Right now I want to read something else.
I love historical romance books. It was really nice to read ,about a little town that was all intertwined with each other. Would recommend this series to anyone that loves history romance . Its clan and living before my time. Thanks for the series
Each story connects to the community of Bear Creek and the struggles of early pioneers. Each story builds on the importance of community and possibility of relationship with local indians.
I appreciate the effort and persistence it takes to gets books written. Well done on that part. But, please please, please do some real research on your subject. Ride a draft horse to work cattle? Spend a work day exercising the cattle? I just can't read any more...
The story was good. What people will do for gold. Edward and Mountain Sun, will have a happy life. Like all the other characters in all the books. I have already purchased the other stories. I like your style of writing. Thank you for many great hours of reading.
I loved that the characters continued in the books. I also thoroughly enjoyed the series. I recommend these books for anyone interested in Wild West Romance stories.
A charming and engaging saga of the town Bear Creek and a nearby Sioux tribe. You’ll enjoy every page! This set of books 1-4 are a start to the string of marriages happening in the town. Wonderfully romantic!!
I do not agree with Book 4 ending the is a people that need to be forward the people needed to part of the community and a business man back into a tepee Morning Sun came off as as weak to me
Very moving and well written. I was immersed in the times and culture. I liked how the community of whites and native Americans worked together for the benefit of all
I normally don’t read a box set but the Bear Creek Brides 1-4 was so amazing, I could not put the book down until I finished all four stories. I can’t wait to read the next box set of 5-8. Fantastic stories.
These are truly great stories I love reading about the west during the times with the native Americans even though I wish they had not been treated so badly. Truly great stories though.
This set has a wonderful town with lots of interesting characters in the series. The descriptions are well done and the stories original. Good all around clean read.
