Natia has to hide, be swept away, or become an immovable force. Reality is wrapped in myth and legend. Gods pull her in different directions, each harbouring a conflicting agenda.
Unlikely allies challenge her beliefs, identities are revealed, and evil wears many faces.
Faced with a choice to save the man she loves or the human race, what will she choose? Logic dictates that one life is not worth millions, but love is never logical.
18 + only due to mature scenes.
This is the second book in a planned trilogy and cannot be read as a standalone. Please read Seducing Hope first.
Adaline Winters writes heroines who bite back and the alpha males who fall to their knees because of it. Known for weaving sizzling tension with deadly twists, she delights in leading readers through stories full of betrayal, desire, and the kind of cliffhangers that leave you cursing her name—and still begging for more. If there’s one promise she makes, it’s this: her heroines will never go quietly, and her heroes will never come out unscathed.
She lives in England’s Lake District, where the scenery is dramatic, the weather is stubbornly grey, and the dog in her house is somehow even more chaotic than her characters. Her husband and daughter are used to conversations being interrupted by sudden mutterings about plot twists or declarations like, “What if I just kill him instead?”
When she’s not plotting new ways to make her readers scream (and swoon), Adaline is probably crocheting blankets that never turn out quite square, or losing precious writing time to her daily Wordle obsession. She claims it’s brain training for crafting fiendish plot twists—but in truth, she just likes to win.
Romance novels are her first love, especially those where strong, sharp-tongued heroines drive alpha males to the brink of madness. That’s the energy she channels into every book she writes: sharp, sexy, a little ruthless, and completely addictive. If you like your stories dangerous, your tension sizzling, and your heroes utterly undone by the women who refuse to bow… welcome to her worlds.
I lament how under appreciated the ability to use my middle finger is.
I am feeling this statement right now cuz....Really Adaline?!!! You have to leave the readers at that ending? Why you wicked bitch? ....okay okay, you are not a bitch, you are amazing for creating this story and its amazing characters but you are still wicked and evil. *Humph*
This book picks up right where the last one left off and we get our witty and badass Natia and her SIP team along with Archan's cadre trying to come up with a solution to eradicate the evil My Archan is possessed with. (Yes, my Archan. His wordplay is orgasmic and I can fight whoever comes between us. Oh Natia can join, i love her too. Yay, a threesome ;) This leads to exciting adventures and Greek Mythology lessons. And ofcourse, Natia's songs choices 😋
It was really fun to read, and the writing style was amazing and funny. Some new characters are introduced and we get to witness Natia facing new challenges which push her emotionally and physically. Even though I guessed the ending pretty early, it wasn't any less intense and heartbreaking to go through it.
“Love breaks us more completely than any violence.”
So what will happen to Archan? Will everyone be able to save him or will he lose himself to the Jar's evil? I can't answer these questions, you have to go read this amazing book!
There is no more a dangerous enemy than one who believes their cause to be righteous.
I am very righteous in my cause to search you out and torture the next book outta you lol. Remember that. 😈☠️😛
Full review coming soon. I need to collect myself.
Review:
"Love breaks us more completely than any violence."
Ugh, I can't really say anything about this without spoiling and I don't want to do that cause I really want you guys to read it. Let's just say that it was fucking amazing. Like sosososo good. You NEED to read it!
This edit is all Natia cause she just stole the motherfucking show from the very beginning. She is the definition of a badass Queen. I fucking love her. She is mine so don't even think about taking her. She was so perfect. A mix of witty, strong and kind. She loved with a fierce passion that could still your breath away.
And the guys! No, it is not a rh and I preferred it that way cause it just made everything so much better. I wish I could be in their friend group.. maybe I can still join in as Jed's girlfriend cause he and Archan are also mine btw 🖤😝❤
I wish I could say more but I really can't without spoiling anything. I need the 3rd book sooo bad cause that ending just, I can't. After I collected myself after finishing both book, I realized that it was the perfect ending for it and I can't wait to see how things unfold.
Do yourself a favor and go read it. You are gonna fall fast and hard for everyone.
I have my suspicions as to Archan's identity, of course. But it would be nice to confirm.
It was kind of obvious who Ant was from the moment he was introduced and I am here for it. Hopefully we see more of him in the next book.
Btw, Duncan has a family?! Where was he hiding them all this time?! And he is surprisingly good at lying. I mean, he is familiar with Harry Potter books? I have to admit, that was the biggest surprise in this book.
I haven't heard of Typhon before, even though I love Greek mythology, so this was fun. I now also want to know not just Archan's identity, but that of the rest of the cadre. We already know Jed is Eros and one of the Primordials and Zac is Ares, but the rest of them?
I did not expect Emi at all. That was a good twist.
The ending felt a bit trite and obvious. We kind of already know what will happen in the next book, right? This one was better than the first book, but unfortunately still not enough to warrant a 5-star review, unfortunately. I'm curious to see if the next one does.
Whyyyy did I do this to myself?! 😭 This kind of books are the reason why I normally prefer to wait until the series is finished before diving in. I just can't handle books ending on cliffhangers. 🥺
Surrendering Hope starts off where Seducing Hope left off - with Archan being possessed by the evil being after he stupidly opened the jar. 😬
There is a lot going on in this book, as Natia and her friends (and Zac) are trying to come up with a plan to safely exorcise the evil spirit without getting Archan killed in the process. A lot is revealed and you also get very interesting Greek Mythology lesson that I was not expecting.
I loved the writing, the characters' relationships, the banter and the page-turning action. Oh, and the steamy scenes! Can't forget the steamy scenes! 🥵 I really love Natia and her witty comebacks. Nothing ever fazes her and she is definitely one of my favourite female characters.
Honestly I've been lamenting ever since I finished this book how should I go about reviewing it without spoiling anything, and I came up blank. I cannot really say anything without giving too much away. So I will not say anything except for this: you need to read this series! Though maybe wait until the last book comes out because the cliffhanger at the end of this one will ruin you. 😭 I will go now, as I have to get back to rocking in the corner until the next book comes out. But I will leave you with the following quote.
Sometimes, when you least expect it, someone sneaks into your heart and steals it for themselves, and sometimes they nurture that feeling, sometimes they use it to destroy you.
When you pick up this book, just try a few things... leave the hate you have for the author at the door. It's a new day, new book kind of shit. Start off fresh. There's no way she won't pay for the shit storm she threw at us in Seducing Hope! No fucking way!
Next, enjoy the bad ass fuckboys that are introduced and try, TRY to not hate the author for not giving us a RH, cuz DAMN, I'm sali-fucking-vating over Ant. Give. Me. Fucking. ANT.
After that, prepare for a fuckton of mythical info and try👏 to 👏 keep 👏 the 👏 fuck 👏 UP! I was so fucking enthralled with the research this fucker did to get all of these mythical shit to match up and make sense! Like, for reals! Do not let the cock (Ant) in your head, cuz while you are fucking drooling over him, you missed some important deets. I'm you, I'm cock in head girl. I missed important deets.
The story fucking flowed, action fucking pact, and every moment was intense. There were no fucking fillers to find, unless it's Ant, filling things up in my head. Ok, ok, I understand I may appear to have a problem where Ant is concerned, but YOU try reading that shit and not want his ass! Holy hell!
You have your usual suspects, Natia, who continues to show what a fucking bad ass she is, fucking grade A! You learn more about her past and powers. You have her boys, Zee (who I was SO hot for in Seducing Hope, till... Ant) continues to be her protector and goofy friend. Aeden, the cute nerd has some lady skills he was hiding. Duncan, this fucker, pretending to be this dork ass friend zoned fucker and turns out to be a motherfucking badass! Then you have the other team, Jed, a loyal friend, Nathan the "medic" and this motherfucker, fucking Zac! Who is a clear example of "all the good shit about you dripped down your fathers legs" that fucker is an asshole if I ever met one. I mean, holy hell, the bad guy had way more fucking charm. You also meet some chicks in this cockfest. A goddess, and a couple of witches, who all are powerful and not afraid to use it.
The sex is HOT, the slow burn is insane, the flirting is to die for and Ant. There's nothing to add, I just felt like I haven't mentioned him in some time. The fighting is hard, bloody and crazy. This is not a cute romance book, this is a fucking story of a chick that everyone is drawn to and can kick your fucking ass. Read this story. Read Seducing Hope, first and THEN read this story and get in line to curse this fucking author out. I can't tell if after reading this, I've always been this stupid, or today is a special day, cuz I feel like she broke my brain!
For a new author, Adaline Winters knows how to knock it out of the park. Her first book, Seducing hope, made it on my Top Reads list of 2020. This, the second in the series, will definitely be making the 2021 list.
There's darkness and light, terror and hope. It's beautifully written and wonderfully descriptive. It's heartbreaking and joyous and soul destroying. The range of feelings it evokes is dizzying.
Adaline...seriously, book 3 better be out soon. I'll be waiting anxiously in the mean time. ❤
I'm ruined 😭Fuck I was sooo excited to read this book and damnn.. it was worth all the excitement.God reading paranormal romance is seriously very entertaining and interesting. This book captured me from the start till the end.😭
This book started with where the 1st book(Seducing Hope) ended.Archan was possessed by the evil Ty and tried to harm Natia. But Natia somehow managed to escape from his trap. The real challenge started after that..how to free Archan from the evil.Natia did everything in her power to bring the love of her life back but it all failed and in the end she took a drastic step which shattered everything.😢
God I just can't explain exactly that how much I loved this book.Everything in it was fuckingggg perfect.❤️
I floved Natia, she was absolutely badass, daring and funny and the way she loved Archan was so admirable.☺️
Archan was possessed by the evil but when the evil sleeps,he always came back to Natia ,their stolen moments were precious as well as emotional too.Their chemistry was so fuckingggg hot and the sex scenes between them was fireeeeee.🔥
And the other characters Duncan,Zee,Jed,Aaden,Zac ,Emily and Nathan each one was super duper awesome.Theis book was incomplete without these characters.😈
Natia's relationship with them was adorable ,the way they cared for each other ,the way they protected each other, was just very heart touching🤪.
And the one character that fascinated me the most was Ant,god his scenes with Natia ahem ahem was super intriguing.Ofcourse they never hooked up but buoii their flirting was very scorching hot.Fuck I was so shocked when I got to know the real identity of Ant.😈
First book in this series shattered me, second book in this series ruined me and that fuckingggg cliffhanger goddddd I'm soooo heartbroken.💔💔
Why Adaline Winters why😭Also this woman is incredible and this is the 2nd book she has written and it was as impressive as the first one😏
This might be the hardest review I’ve written so far. I’m trying to think of what to write after just being slayed by Adaline. This woman just took my heart and shredded it, in the best possible way of course. What she did with this book was, she gave you all the amazingness with every single character, made you fall in love with them all, then left you sobbing like a child at the end. You think you know where it’s going and what’s going to happen and then nope, you were wrong. It literally had me saying out loud, “what did you do?!” loudly. Did I mention I’m a character in the book?! I was a little giddy every time I read my name, I’m forever immortalized in a book, coolest thing ever. This book does end on an epic cliffhanger and you definitely want to read Seducing Hope before Surrendering Hope. This book is amazing, I can’t recommend it enough. Now excuse me while I continue to stare at the wall in shock.
Well freaking done.......start to finish it was amazing!!! If you thought Seducing Hope was good..... this follow up will BLOW you away! Get ready to feel a perfect trio of emotions it’s heartfelt, hilarious, and of course hair-raising. Surrendering hope is a fitting title because you will surrender all you have planned and fall into the story. It’s a fantastic mix of fantasy and mythology that was so unique and unlike anything I have read before. The story took several turns I did not see coming (which can be hard with fantasy stories) One thing that was certain was that Natia is a BAD A** She is always steps above everyone else and does it with a dose of sarcasm and wit that made this fellow Taurus proud 😉 Don’t worry Archan plays a big part in this book as well and melted my heart SEVERAL times...... I won’t spoil anything else but I will say I pretty much highlighted an entire chapter because of him and Natia... simply BEAUTIFUL!
I love a fantasy romance and this is one of my favourite series! Bad-ass female characters, steamy chemistry and high ‘end-of-world’ stakes – everything I need. The fun and witty banter between Natia and her chosen family mirrors that in the first book, which I was delighted with. Natia is dealing with some shocking revelations following the first book in the series and I loved seeing her grow and develop as she tries to unravel the mysteries raised in the first book. Archan remains charming and sexy - I’m so glad that he featured as much as he did within this story. He’s definitely book boyfriend material! The Greek mythology is cleverly weaved within the story, giving more insight into the characters. What I loved more than the first book was the addition of the Indiana Jones vibe with creepy traps and detailed missions for the Team to tackle. Creepy spider zombie demon things will definitely feature within my nightmares from now on! It was incredibly fast-paced and I could not put it down. I laughed, I cried and I NEED the next book in the series to put the pieces of my heart back together. Thank you so much to adalinewinterswriter for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
. WOW. After reading Surrendering Hope by Adaline Winters. That was the one word I could come up with after experiencing this spectacular novel. When I say it took me a solid day and a half to come out of my comatose state after reading the last page of this book, I’m not lying. I sat here dreaming about what I just read, constantly thinking about the characters, and wondering what to do with my life now that I have to wait for the third book sometime in the future.
It’s taken me a few days to come up with the words to fully express the right words to bring honor to Surrendering Hope. But from start to finish, this story grabs you. Pulls you in, rips your heart in pieces, then doesn’t let you go even after finishing the last page. There is everything from humor (Natia, the main character is my inspiration for one liners), to heartbreak, to friendship, to really sexy smutty scenes (hello Archan 🔥), to kick ass action. There’s a little something for everyone in this series. And the fact that Adaline Winters brought originality with a surprise at the end is what makes this second novel in the Hope Legacy series a true work of Art.
What I loved most about this book was that it evaded “the second book curse”. Most second novels fall short, but THIS ONE DID NOT. Not in the slightest and if I’m to be honest, I would say it was better than the first. Natia was superb, badass, and overall someone I wish I was. She embodied this story and the person she needed to be.
Another great thing about this novel are the sex scenes. I’ve read everything from YA vanilla to dark romance reverse harem and this was the perfect blend. Not over the top kinky but not too vanilla. It got me needing a tall glass of water. This book was spicy, funny, flowed so well, everything was perfect. From the characters to the period dots on the pages.
My absolute respect goes to Adaline for Surrendering Hope. This will be one of my greatest reads of 2021 and there is no way you change my mind. If you haven’t already, please go pick up her first book Seducing Hope then buy this one next. You won’t regret it.
I know I am in the minority here, but truthfully, I’ve never really connected with Natia and forget about Archen. Their…. love(?)… more like obsession. Possession. At least from his standpoint.
As for Natia, there’s not enough of anything to make it believable that she loves him. He chased her. He seduced her. He comforted her. And she craved him sexually. THAT. IS. IT. Nothing deeper is evidenced.
I also didn’t walk into this series expecting to be bogged down with Greek mythology, nor religion. A warning would have been nice so I could have avoided this book. It’s just not my cup of tea.
NOR is the writing style. Or the characters. Or the constant chaos that is this girl’s life. And don’t even get me started on how EEEEVERYONE is obsessed with her and protective of her. This series is SOO consumed with all things Natia. And it’s annoying. I GET that books will be from the MC’s point of view and we will get an ego-centric version of things, but this? It takes it to a NAUSEATING level. She was so chaotic and weird and hardly any of the things that made her such an uber special snowflake made ANY sense. Even in light of who she ended up being. It’s just a little too wishful. Like if Natia herself was going to write her story how she wanted to be seen. Very biased and one-sided and even one dimensional in many ways.
And then there’s all the men. It’s almost like it wants to be a reverse harem, but then stops just short to maintain its sensibilities. Just for the sake of remaining mainstream.
If done differently, it could have been more of a found family feel, but as it is, there is just too much sexuality and lust and sinfulness to make it believable.
Now on to the cliffhanger all people’s describe in their reviews. I saw it coming. Partially from reviews of the third book containing spoilers, but also partly because I just had a feeling. And guess what? I. DON’T. CARE. I truthfully do not care about what happened at the end. And I would be fine if this was the end of the series. That is how little I like these two MCs. Heck, I liked Lucifer better than Archen (and again, I saw that one from a mile away).
There is so much to unpack in this book, and a lot that left me so confused. I spent a lot of time rereading portions of this book thinking that I missed something, or that I was insane. One of the biggest things to drive me crazy is working out which god each of Archan’s cadre are supposed to be. The book states that they are all primordial gods, but then Zac is Ares? Ares isn’t considered a primordial god and is the son of Zeus and Hera.
Natia is Pandora, and though she supposedly has the hope of humanity inside her and is supposed to be full of caring and heart… I found her to be immature, one dimensional, and extremely selfish. The same can be said for Archan at this point. Duncan and Lucifer are supporting characters and have more depth than both MCs combined. There is a large part of the conflict in this book that could be avoided if the characters had communicated even slightly.
Other than not really enjoying the FMC and other character interactions, I really truly enjoy the story. I think it has great bones, but there are a lot of things that were underdeveloped and lacking detail. I wish the interactions between Natia and the others would have been clearer, I wish the communication between the characters was better. Overall, its not a bad story just not something that I think I will read again but intend to finish the final book. Stars: ⭐⭐ Spice:🌶🌶
this book was even more amazing than the first. it gave me all the feels. i teared up. i swooned i fell in love with yet another book boyfriend. that ending was definetly a plot twist and a half i was shocked and cried i didnt expect for it to end that way.
Well it is 1:43 in the morning and I’m laying in bed SOBBING! I haven’t had a book wreck me like this in a long time. HOW DO I FIND OUT WHEN BOOK 3 COMES OUT????
SLIGHT SPOILERS BELOW X X X X X X X X X X Let’s talk about the characters...
Natia- Badass warrior heroin. Loves to eat and dance and loves her guy friends. Natia is all around perfection in my opinion.
Speaking of her guys.. let’s talk about the protectors and the Cadre
Duncan and Zee.. the ride or die men. I love the bond between Natia, Duncan and Zee. Aaden too but he isn’t in a lot of the action since he is tech support basically but I love him too. The relationship between Duncan and Natia is amazing and I’m so thrilled that there was no love, lust or attraction between them. They have the most pure kind of love for each other and it is priceless. And Zee. Zee and Natia are two peas in a pod. They compliment each other so well in every way. In friendship and in partners. I love how flirtatious they are with each other but you know it would never cross the line. Even though part of me wishes she would have maybe just given him one kiss on the mouth. Haha. Like I said.. Duncan and Zee are Natia’s main guys. Ride or die. And the cadre.. JED, I’ll save you for last.. Nathan, you are awesome. Zac.. you confuse me. You infuriate me. You are an ass. But I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. He loves Archan... I think the possibility of losing Archan had him so scared that he didn’t know how to deal with it. Even before Archan was possessed, I feel like he felt he was losing Archan to Natia and that is why he hated her so much. I’m hoping book 3 will explain a little more what kind of feelings Zac has for Archan because at times I wondered if he was in love with him or if they were brothers. As far as I know, unless I just didn’t figure it out.. We still don’t know which god Archan is. If Jed is Eros and Zac is Ares and Ant is Lucifer.. who is Archan. Is he supposed to be Zeus? Actually if that is the case and I didn’t fully grasp it please feel free to message me because I want to know. Now Jed... you sexy sandwich making all around good guy.. I freaking love you. And I’m so glad Zee has you. I found myself grinning every time there was a scene with Jed and Zee. That is one bromance I want more of in book 3 for sure. Jed truly became another member of the ride or die team for sure. Now for the man who now owns my heart... Archan. I love a good enemies to lovers trope and let me tell you, I loved this man from that first breakfast meeting. If I hope for any one thing in book three it is simply for Archan to look into Natia’s eyes and say the words.. I LOVE YOU. Seeing Archan soften as he falls more and more in love was something special. The ending tore my soul apart. For him to find love after eons of existence only to have it ripped away like that. I hope book 3 shows Duncan and Zee staying close to Archan and Jed. I think the four of them will end need other. Duncan and Archan especially. Adaline Winters... bravo. Seducing Hope and Surrendering Hope were amazing. Now let’s hope in book 3 we can work on saving hope.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I couldn’t wait to start this book after that massive bomb dropped cliffhanger I was left on with book 1... Man did Adaline ever suck me in! I had a really hard time putting this book down!! I found I enjoyed this book even more than the first. I was able to clearly follow the storyline and even though it’s laced heavily with Greek mythology I was able to keep up with what was happening.
Now I find myself repeating with other reviews have already said... you can’t say too much about the storyline itself because that gives away too many spoilers... What I can say is this book packed a major punch. There is the underlining threat to the whole situation that keeps you on edge. There is comic relief, sarcastic remarks, and awesome banter through the novel. Even though you know what the major looming threat is, these characters still find themselves in intense side battles that keep the action going.
The words are so cleverly written... I had to go back and do an immediate reread to try to pick up on the breadcrumbs of clues that were left along the path of this book. The way the story keeps flowing fascinated me. The way new characters were able to be introduced but you weren’t being overwhelmed with verbiage along the way amazed me and kept me hooked. Natia’s character is still developing with every chapter that I read and I am in awe of who she has become by the end of the novel.
I was not expecting this cliffhanger to be like it was. I admit I went back to where this author found me on Instagram and messaged her my frustrations... she showed me these books, and introduced me to this world, and then left me on the edge with no end to my fall in sight. There is promises of book 3, but we do not know when this will happen for she is still writing it. GAH! I never was known for having patience... I highly recommend these books. But if you’re like me, wait until the 3rd is published so you don’t lose your mind...
Adaline Winters's "Surrendering Hope" kicks some serious ass and leaves you wanting more! Book 2 in the Hope Legacy series, "Surrendering Hope" is is an amazing sequel to "Seducing Hope." If you don't want spoilers for book 1 then you shouldn't read further. . . . . . "Surrendering Hope" picks up right where book one ended with the cliffhanger of finding out Natia is actually Pandora and Archan has opened her jar, releasing the last evil into the world and ultimately possessing Archan. With the help of her protectors and Archan's cadre, Natia has to figure out how to de-possess Archan and get the last evil back into its prison before he can enact his plan of opening the gates of Tartarus to annihilate the human race. Can she play this game among gods? Can she be the hope of the human race? Can she save them all?
This book was more amazing than the first book with several plot twists I didn't see coming! The character development was on point. The plot development was incredible. The pace of the story was fast-moving and didn't dull anywhere. I loved the mythology weaved throughout the entire story. Like book one, this book had it all, romance, action and adventure. Archan is an alphahole after my own heart. I do believe Adaline missed a great opportunity for this to be a reverse harem book though. Natia's chemistry with her protectors and with Archan's cadre is to die for. Jed is officially on my short-list for book boyfriends. The book does end in a major cliffhanger that could leave you in a book slump for a few days and wondering "what was Adaline thinking?"
I recommend this book (and its predecessor) to those who enjoy paranormal romance, suspense, supernatural themes and mythological themes. Overall, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. ☆☆☆☆☆
I have no words! I honestly don't know where to begin with this one as there is so little I can say without giving something important away (and while I personally am not adverse to the odd spoiler- this is one book you won't want to have anything spoiled in advance). This book is HUGE. There is so much packed in to it and so much detail. This is an action packed and exciting adventure through modern day Greek mythology. There was not one page wasted in Adaline's beautifully structured tale.
After the revelation of Pan's identity at the end of Seducing Hope this book continues the adventure with the true Godly identities of some of the fantastically crafted side characters (who all deserve their own books as they are so fabulous!) being revealed. The book takes you to Hell and back on Nadia's mystical and magical quest to recover Archan.
Nadia is brilliantly bad-ass (with a fear of spiders!) and funny. Her ongoing internal playlist brings comic relief through the excitement (and dare I say it, the nail-biting stress of some scenes). She is a very loveable character and her desire to save Archan and humanity is the central dilemma that drives everything forward. Archan (in the hints we get of him in this book) is still incredibly domineering, strong and appealing. The devotion he commands is well deserved as he is very much the dark and troubled male lead I look for in a good romance. However, this book is way more than a romance. This is an old school exciting adventure which I would compare to watching Indiana Jones or Jason and the Argonauts as a child (an adventure with some great steamy scenes thrown in!).
I'm not saying anything more but oh goodness I cannot wait for book 3 to see what Adaline brings us next in this tale.
I’m glad I finished reading the book on Tuesday night as I really needed to sleep on it to write my review.
My heart is beating way too fast. Too many actions, emotions, heartbreak and tears in one book … or should I say chapter?!
The story starts where the first book ended when Archan opens the jar. It’s all going downhill from there. Natia is confused as she doesn’t understand why he jumps to conclusions after everything they went through. But then again, she can also see his point of view as he and his “family” already know more about her past as she does.
We finally find out what happened to Natia and why she is back. We also see more of Archan’s struggle with his feelings.
He thinks he is not able to love someone but he is so wrong. He is not aware that the feelings he has towards Natia is indeed LOVE.
I loved the little stolen moments between Archan and Natia. There are no words to describe their relationship. It’s just so powerful and their chemistry towards each other is undeniable. Their feelings for each other are definitely getting stronger.
And the banters between Natia and her friends? It just makes the book so much funnier! It is quite a heavy read if you are an “emotional” reader. I was on the edge all the time as I always thought something bad was going to happen. Was I right? You just have to read the book☺️
Towards the end, I just couldn’t put the book down. I had to find out what was going to happen … well, to everyone.
I loved this book so much❣️I admit that I’m going to read something lighter next then jump to read book 3. I need to give a break to my heart .But I also can’t wait to find out what Natia and Archan’s destiny is.
😟😭😟😭 @adalinewinterswriter I think you just broke alot of your readers hearts!! 💔 (thank god for your authors note at the end 😂)
I've been reading alot of dark books lately so you kind of expect the horrific endings/ cliff hangers but I was thoroughly enjoying all the laugh out loud moments (there are alot) it's such a brilliant page turner so you're happily sailing through the book then bam!! I knew it was all going to hit the fan at the end as the whole book is building up to it but this ending and how it got twisted!! It feels so final and I must admit if I didn't know there was a third book I would think this was the end!! 😟 I mean, how does one come back from this?? I can't wait to find out 🙌🏼
I love all the music references again, some really make me laugh. Especially the set ones she has got for all the guys 😂 ... talking about the guys, I love every single one of them. Jed and zee I absolutely adore!! And Ant 😉🤫 he has me very intrigued, I hope he makes some appearances in the next book! Or maybe even his own book 😁 haha I would love all the guys to have their own books tbh! We get alot of our questions answered in this book, as to who individually each character is!! We are still left pondering a certain males real identity though and I'm excited to find out!! I LOVE Natia, she is everything i love about a lead heroine, she loves her friends and family so fierecely and will always put others first. She is hilarious and totally badass. Natia && Archen 💙 some of his declarations in this book melted me, I think I have a new book boyfriend right there. He is so swoon worthy 😅 ... What an adventure this book was, I'm completely addicted 💖
What did I just read!? This book was AMAZING! The story was incredible and really the subtle messages behind everything make you want to turn the page again and also be something worth while in the world.
This book takes off right after book 1. I thought I was going to have to wait to read the energy between Natia and Archan again, but I’m sooo glad the author did what she did and allowed Archan to “come out” when the beast was resting. This books heats level was off the charts compared to book 1! *fanning myself down* The shear chemistry and emotion between the two characters was trembling. The other characters and friends of Natias who would give their strength will before her own in a second were great! I loved all of the characters sooo much!
It still has everything book 1 did but more. The devil 👿 also wants the beast gone. Humanity relies on Natia weather they know it or not. One second Archan is himself and the next, the beast is after her to place her by his side. The gods are angry. Witches and Warlocks are setting up spells and ruins. Someone has a plan. Oaths are getting crossed. Peoples lives are at stake. It was a rollercoaster.
I for one, did not see the ending pan out the way it did. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. The last chapter really made you feel the agony they felt. I am so freaking ready for book 3. I need it yesterday!!! I have no idea what will happen. None. I’m so ready for it.
*Overall 5/5 hands down *Heat? 5/5! Ready for more in book 3 *First person POV Natia and Archan *HEA? More like destruction of soul, NO
Be still my barely still beating heart! Adaline Winters what have you done to me… my goddess all the feels, and all the emotions!
I cannot recommend this book more if I tried, it’s banter is like none other, the love in this book between all of the characters (including Zac.. maybe, I’m still thinking about it) the steamy-steaminess and the pending doom. It’s more than an emotional rollercoaster that’s for damn sure. I’m pretty sure in that last chapter, I cut my own heart out and handed it to Adaline! I am really trying to give this review without giving too much away so it may be shorter than my usual.. because I am having one of the biggest book hangovers and because this is a book you really have to read and experience.
So as you know our leads are Natia and Archan but there are so many more the secondary characters aren’t really that cause they are just as important, just as captivating and play important roles.
We start were we left off in book one, Archan is the shell for the beast, Natia, her men and Archans men are really to turn over any stone to get him free without hurting/killing him in the process. Natia discovers more about herself - Pandora! She masters her powers (well almost all of them, she still like a bit of nakedness 🤪)
What I really loved was the stolen moments between Archan and Natia.. some of the most beautiful and romantic words are shared and I just melted!
Thank all the gods book 3 is already available because I am pretty sure I would lose my mind waiting!
This book has it all, if it’s not on your TBR or getting added then you’ll definitely be missing out!
“The most beautiful things often come from a place of darkness.”
I have a feeling this quote is gonna be one of my all time faves after reading this book! Not only that but Surrendering Hope was full of amazing quotes! I don’t know how Adaline Winters does it but her writing is flowing on the page so well and her philosophical writing draws you in asap.
And then the mythological twists, with greek mythology, hell and tartarus, Eve and Pandora and the Minotaur, and gods and angels and LUCIFER holy shit!😱 This story has it all and just like reading the first book, this world building was so intriguing to read about!
Also our female MC Natia being sassy and fierce as always makes her so much more relatable and an enjoyable read because her sarcasm is just really funny😀
I gotta admit seeing a softer side of Archan after his dark and intense demeanor in book 1 was really refreshing!
“I have a black heart, shrouded in the darkest of night. But your fire, your grace, and your light spins gold through the shadows. It makes me want something I never thought possible. Eternity is a long time to be alone, but with you I have found the reason to live, to fight. I will fight for you with my last breath, because whilst you have been promising with your eyes to go to war for me, I have been shifting the very fabric of eons of beliefs I held onto.”
I mean how could you not feel like a mushy ball after reading his declaration of love? And the steam? AND ICE CUBES? 🥵🔥
Uhm and that cliffhanger? Excuse me? How could you trick us like that Madame? 😱 I demand retribution 😭
I am so disappointed in myself for how long this review has taken. But its an easy review to write because I haven't been able to get this book, this couple out of my god damn head.
Book 1 left Natia and Archan torn apart, just as they reach their happiness. A new world unravelled leave 100 questions unanswered.
This book was all about justice. About saving the man she loves. About finding her peace in his arms.
A plan had to be made, a clever plan. Without a place for error, without a chance for failure. In order for this to happen, she had to have her own secrets. Secrets that could break her force into pieces.
She had to be strong.
For him.
Their time together was short. For who knows when the demon within him would wake and ready himself for destruction.
Their love was a flame. It would burn anyone in its wake. After what felt like forever, he finally found the woman he needed in order to breathe. Funnily, as a god, he doesn't breathe.
With all pieces of their puzzle in place, it's time. It's time to save him. Time to reunite. Time for forever.
But it isn't, is it?
@adalinewinterswriter I have no idea how you can have someone thinking about a book 2 weeks later. But you've done it. Natia and Archan seriously have taken over my mind. You're amazing.
There's authors out there, you know, will produce masterpieces without needing to read their books. Adaline is one of these. Whatever she writes is sure to have you fighting to turn the page and find out what happens next.
In this book we starts when we left off in book 1 Natia naked 🤣. No but seriously poor woman discovered the man she loves doesn't trust her and wants to bring hell upon her.
If the first book was good dude this one is better we have so many new information of the characters, still lots of fights, drama,.angst and godly and sinfully sex encounters. If I have dreams like that for the rest of my life I won't be mad at all. IYKYK
Natia has to go through hell and back (pun intended) to find a way to safe Archan from the King of monsters. As if he deserved it 😒🙄
Once again Adaline Winters did it again, injecting this story with a side of mythology that's was 😘🤌🏼 chef kiss
I loved how characters we met in book one made so much sense when reveling their true self. How their personalities matched with who they really are.
My love for Mr Duncan grew more because in my mind him and Natia need to be an item maybe they won't but I'll never lose Hope. (Lol see what I did there. 🤣)
Let's not forget the gang because now we have another badass woman accompanying Natia. Jed, Aaden and Zee are what I'd love to have as friends/ protectors, Zacy well he is a bit too much of a Grouch but it is expected due to who he is 🤷🏻♀️
I had so much fun reading this you can't imagine and I will be recommending it to everyone who crosses my path from now on
Thank God for the Author's note because I don't know how I would have survived this ending. That's why now I'm thinking of horcruxes 😁
The gang is back in Surrendering Hope. And, if it's even possible, the bond between Katia and her friends becomes even tighter in this second book, with a little girlish addition 😋 Their funny teasing was something I missed and got plenty this time. I really love their connection and made me a little envious 😊 This book has it all: a gorgeous badass heroine with good taste in music and mens 😜, hot & steamy scenes 🥰, beautiful and strong friendship, non-stop action with some good fighting scenes, lots of funny moments (God, I love Katia's teleportation skills 😂), heart shattering moments (both beautiful and sad. Adaline managed to make us cry so much in this book), some wow identity revelations (this was so unexpected) and an ending that brings you to your knees. As I mentioned at the beginning, thank God for discovering the Author's note mentioning there is a third book because I don't know how I would have been able to survive this ending 🤯 Now I'm counting the days. I hope it's released fast 🙏🙏🙏
Received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest opinion.
I was recently introduced to the book Seducing Hope by Adaline Winters and was excited to dive into something different. I quickly devoured both Seducing Hope and the following book Surrendering Hope and now I must (not so) patiently wait for the next book.
This book took me by surprise in all the best ways. You meet Natia who is a badass heroine that fights supernatural beings. She works with some seriously awesome guys that are super protective of her. I love the dynamic she has with her guys because it is a best friend/brotherly protection. They are there for her unconditionally.
What I didn't expect? The Greek mythology intertwined into the story. Seriously 🤯 mind blowing how this story was done. I'm in love. You get ancients, and Gods, and warlocks, and so much more. There is mystery as to what and who people really are that keeps you engaged throughout the whole story.
I could not pick a favorite character if I had to, they were all amazingly developed and I'm invested in them all.
You need to give these books a read you won't be disappointed....except for maybe by the cliffhanger that has me sad and frustrated that I can't have more now.
