The third book in Lauren Myracle’s wildly popular IM series!

The winsome threesome say “l8r” to high school in this sequel to the New York Times and Publishers Weekly bestsellers ttyl and ttfn

Through their instant messages, three inseparable friends have shared the ups and downs of high school. They’ve survived a flirtatious teacher, a witchy classmate, a pot-smoking smoocher, a Care Bear–toting stalker, and much, much more. Now it’s their senior year, and Angela, Zoe, and Maddie—otherwise know as the winsome threesome—are feeling invincible. Too bad Jana, the Queen Bee who made their sophomore year a nightmare, is on the warpath again. This time she has it out for good girl Zoe, and it’s up to Maddie and Angela to defend their friend. Not that Zoe, who’s deep in love with Doug, seems to notice. A series of pranks escalates, culminating in a senior prom that no one will forget, even if they want to! And it will be up to Zoe to finally take action and make sure the power of the winsome threesome prevails.

L8r G8r
Lauren Myracle
Amulet Books, 2007, 274 pp. , $6.95
ISBN 978-0-8109-7086-1

"… and then she saw me. i was crouched by the car…jana lunged for me and i tripped... i was like 'wait i can explain!' … i told her the truth -that I was trying to get her back for everything she did to us…so i explained the kidnapping plot…" Interesting right….well there is more to this book than you think. When I first opened up L8r G8r by Lauren Myracle, curiously, I found the format very interesting, it's written in the form of a chat box!
"The winsome threesome" is at it again! Zoe, the academic, gets center stage as she explores her relationship with Doug, her boyfriend. She loses her virginity and becomes blinded to her unyielding dedication to this relationship. Angela has a boyfriend too, but is less head over heels, except when he presents her with a Jeep for Valentine's Day. Maddie serves as the stable, support figure, offering advice and a shoulder to cry on. Jana, their arch enemy, is the source and target of pranks by the three friends. The girls finish their senior year with more understanding about who they are, excitement about their futures, and the security of knowing they're only a computer connection away.
You've experienced revenge, love, friendship, and many other themes, haven't you? Have you been in a situation when you have to stick up for your friends and fight back the enemy? Have you ever had the feeling as if you really love someone so much, but you get scared going near them? Well many of these questions relate to L8r G8r by Lauren Myracle. This is the beginning, of the untold and unbreaking relationship between these three.
This is the 3rd, and dare I say final, installment of a series entirely written in IM. First there was TTYL and then TTFN. I love this series. Wordless, as I opened that book, and the drama spilled out. Speechless, when the suspense kept rolling in. Don’t let the unusual format turn you off from a touching, well-written story. Yes, even though you may cringe at the thought of reading all lowercase typing, three different fonts (including blue type), and abbreviations like “cu”, “ur”, "plz" and “g2g”, it’s such a fun story. It’s really a novel in dialogue. Just think of it that way and give it a try.
This book is recommended to young adults. The book has many inappropriate things that 13 years and younger should not read. But overall, this book is wonderful and it really teaches you the meaning of friendship, especially with these three, it basically teaches you that "a friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words"- Anonymous and that best friends are not just friends, they're more like sisters. This was the ending, satisfying and content.

Well, I got this book for my daughter, along with the two previous books, and having read this last one I am now a little sorry I did. On the one hand, it is definitely an honest look at high school girls, friendships, and relationships. On the other hand, high school is not always 'appropriate,' which we all should remember from being there. The IM format is certainly an interesting gimmick, and I do appreciate how the author managed to maintain that format believably throughout.

My biggest complaint is that these girls, however smart or independent they might appear, are needlessly shallow and spoiled. Not one of them has a job. Not one of them is the least bit concerned about how to pay for college (except for how to blackmail their parents into doing it). Not one of them has any appreciation for the potential dangers of the games they are playing. In other words, I repeat, it is JUST like high school. And who really wants to relive that?

these books are funny to think about because so much serious shit happens that they just sweep under the rug in a way that is very true to teenhood but also strange to think about an adult writing (this logic follows with some of the more offensive jokes as well, most of which are followed up with some sort of clumsy chastising)

L8r, G8r
Summary: The three girls; Maddie, Zoe, and Angela; have to battle it out Jana again. First of all Jana and her best friend got into a fight, so her tried to find comfort and went to Angela. Jana’s friend was so mad she told Angela a very embarrassing secret about Jana. She is a bad girl with a teddy bear named Boo-Boo Bear. The group of three versus the one. Angela, Zoe, and Maddie really won because they got to realize that they won with the prize of friendship.
Zoe has the best boyfriend a girl could ask for. But it’s kind of awkward for Angela because she used to date Zoe’s boyfriend Doug. Angela tries to cover that she doesn’t still like Doug by having a another boyfriend that she doesn’t really love, but he buys her a jeep for Valentine’s Day so she doesn’t want to break up with him because she would have to give back her first car. There are also rumors about her still liking Doug so there’s some tension between Zoe and Angela.
Main Characters: Zoe is one of three best friends in this story. She is always there for someone how needs a shoulder and she can always be there to talk to. Angela is another one of the three best friends. She is loving but she be a little stubborn and she always tries to get whatever she wants.
Maddie is the third best friend out of this duo. She is very sneaky, especially when it comes to sneaky plans that tricks the mean girls. Jana is the mean girl in this story. She always gives the duo dirty looks and plays a lot a pranks on them.
Setting: The setting of this book is on the computer. They are always emailing over the computer at home. The stories they tell over the computer take place at school. Their stories are pretty interesting.
Conflict: The conflict in this book is that Jana, the mean girl, is being rude and playing pranks on the three girls for knowing a secret of hers. Jana and the three girls keep going back and forth on getting revenge on each other.
Resolution: The resolution to this conflict is that they finally gave up on trying to get revenge after Jana found Angela sneaking out of her car while she was trying to steal Jana’s teddy bear, Boo-Boo Bear. Angela tried to sneak out of her car when Jana Stormed out of her car to go yell at her step-mom. Jana came back just at the right time to see Angela sneak out. That’s when the whole thing stopped.
Opinion: My opinion of this book is that it’s very funny. I liked it because of all the texting conversation in the book. It was a lot more fun to read than the normal format. It made reading more fun.
Recommendation: I would recommend this book o anyone who thinks that reading is boring, so it will make it fun for them. I would also recommend this book to anyone who like technology. I could recommend this book to anyone who loves drama filled books. This is a great book for any mature kid that loves drama.

L8r, g8r is the third book of the IM series by Lauren Myracle. It is a book about a three best friends at the end of the Senior Year. Zoe, Maddie and Angela are all dreading the end of the year but at the same time, they are excited for it all to begin. With the pressure from their parents, school isn't going too great. But when all three of the girls get accepted to the college of their dreams everyone starts to take it easy. With the school bully, Jana, on their backs they get into a back-to-back fight. When Zoe takes it one step too far, she realizes that Jana never started it in the first place. It is a book about friendship and love. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fun, fast read. It is easy to get through and entertains you throughout the whole book.

“There's something strange about this big pink bunny...”

Overall Thoughts

This was a super fun, easy and cute series. Nothing intense of course, there's not much to actually review. But if you're looking for something light and funny, this series is great. The girls are hilarious and I found myself getting actually invested in their story lines and wondering what was going to happen in their lives next.

That's right, the last book I read in 2018 was this YA number told entirely through instant messages. I I think I saw Lauren Myracle's trilogy in this format turn up on a list of experimental fiction since 2000, so this caught my eye in the Strand dollar racks and fair enough, she really sticks to her constraint and makes it work reasonably well for her narrative. She captures the rhythm of this sort of communication pretty well (even if part of that is a decent amount of noise and frivolity in the mix), and seems less prone to inventing web lingo then I'm told she was in the first two volumes (or maybe I'm just too out of touch to tell OR she took some liberties with fixing those things for the 2014 revised edition.) BUT seriously bonus points for evidently getting banned in a number of school systems for allowing that perfectly responsible teens might be having sex in high school and that it wasn't a big deal. Actually, ideologically, there's not much I could really fault here in general in how she addresses real concerns of teen life, when those come up. Which I still find a relatable enough subject apparently.

This is the 3rd book in the series. This was my all time favorite book. So many things had been shown and told. Their was so much drama and boy craziness. I think drama, and all that crazy stuff in high school books makes the book more interesting. That's one of the reasons why I couldn't put it down. They split up for a while because of so much drama but now they are insperable and it makes the story so much better.

DNF. This book turned out to be way to teenager-ish for me. Not necessarily terrible but I have better books to spend my time on. I was intrigued by the texting format of storytelling, but I think I might have liked it better in a narrative format.

My daughter (10) was given this book by her cousin. I vet the books she receives first, here's 3 excerpts (albeit out of context) you parents should consider before allowing your child under 12 to read it. These are not isolated either, this is common in this book.

"SnowAngel: what's up?
Zoegirl: I'm kinda wired. I just gave Doug his very 1st blow-job.
Snowangel: *falls backwards out of computer chair* WHAT?!!
Zoegirl: it was a going-away present, since I won't c him for a week. I feel so proud of myself!
Snowangel: spit or swallow?
Zoegirl: I swallowed, but I don't think I'm going to next time. I'll just tell him very politely so he's not offended."

"Zoegirl: well... I did it!
Snowangel: OMG!!! FOR REAL? all the way???
Zoegirl: get Mads into the Chat and ill tell all!
Zoegirl: hey, girls. Yes, it's true: I'm a woman now.
Mad Maddie: way to go, u sexy beast!
Snowangel: *squeals!!!*
Mad maddie: just to be clear, we're talking full insertion here?"
(Proceeds to explain in detail first sex experience)

"Snowangel: so now Emma's gonna show up next Thursday with a humongous box of dildos! I love it!
Zoegirl: I don't understand the point of a dildo. Doesn't it just sound gross, a fake penis that flops around in your hand?
Snowangel: I don't get it either. Altho I don't think it "flops"
Snowangel: do you think they make fake vaginas for men to use?
Zoegirl: ewwwww!
Zoegirl: I don't like the thought of Any of that stuff. Could you imagine what Doug would say if I whipped out a pair of handcuffs the next time we were fooling around?
Snowangel: THAT would prove ur not submissive! Zoe the dominatrix, yeah!
Snowangel: *cracks whip* sshwing!

This is not the worst read, I'm an adult and I've read way worse...in my adult years. The quotes from this book shown on all book-related sites and reviews don't allude to any of what I quoted, instead opting for the most family friendly lines in the book, which seems like an attempt to portray the book as being child friendly. However, if you think this book belongs in an elementary school library or there's nothing wrong with kids under 12 reading, I think you need help, counseling, or to be on a registry somewhere because you have a twisted morality if having your 10 year old ask what blow jobs, vicodin and drug ridden high school parties, and sex toys are after reading this book is appropriate to you. They'll probably hear about it in school, sure. Chances are they'll probably find porn online pretty early on because it's EVERYWHERE. The difference is whether you draw a line somewhere or not as a parent. If you encourage the discovery of obviously adult content to tweens or younger though, you're no different than the parents claiming porn is a great way to teach your young kids about sex, and are either ok with their young kids watching it or giving them access to view it themselves.
Sex ED with kids is necessary today, not this. 16+ go for it, if you encourage any younger then you're skirting the line of "progressive" and "child sexual abuse". Hope this helps the decent parents out there who'd prefer not to have their children reading this before mid teens at least.

* I posted my review in response to many adults claiming this book is 10+ and condemned parents that have complained about having them removed from elementary school (pre-k to 8th grade) libraries. Some larger voices say it's the "banning of knowledge or reading". In my opinion, it's like eliminating an R rated movie as an option in our young kids classrooms. Allow it for the proper age group, keep it away from the kids. If you argue otherwise, you probably have an agenda that doesn't have childrens' best interests in mind. Just my 2 cents.

I choose to read this book because i already read the other two books and i liked them .
this book is realistic fiction.
it takes place in gorgia,
This book is there final year in high school (seniorrrssss:)
This is the year the three girls are looking forward to but also dreading! they are looking forward to it beacause they are graduating and going to college but dreading it because they will be seperated.
Madie; wants to go to ucla and she gets excepted but once she gets excepted to The state of gorgia she has trouble deciding because shes scared of change and also because she is getting close to her ex boy friend ian again and the begin to date again and she doesnt want to break his heart again. but she decides to follow her dream and goes mails in her axceptance letter!
Angela; Is most definetly going to Gorgia but is defistated that her friends will not be following her.
Zoe; wants to go to kenyon (which has always been her dream school and then she will also be closer to her boyfriend dougs school) but her parents want her to go to princeston and once she gets axcepted to prinston after sabitoshing her application shes shocked and doesnt no what shes guna do and is even more devistated that she got into kenyon but her parents told her if she goes to kenyon thy wont pay for her tution so she has a plan and she applys to gorgia and gets excepted and is excepted for a scholorship and once her parents hered that news they were more then willing to pay for her tution at kenyon cus they felt gorgia wasnt good enough for her .
Other than college the girls are going through major drama with jana . but like always it eventualy fades and in the end the girls realize that their friend ship is what makes them win because jana doesnt have any real friends.

i really enjoyed this book i thought it was a good ending and im glad i read this series i enjoyed it alot

On a regular day In English class when one of my classmates showed me the book L8r, g8r by Lauren Myracle. I read a few pages and realized that maybe this is a good book. One thing that really stood out had to be the layout of the book. I'm unsure if the book title stands out that much, but the book is laid out as text messages, which in my opinion is a very creative way to lay out a book. I don't really think that there was any part of the book that really "didn't impress" me, I think that every part of this book really caught my attention and every word helped me feel like I was is this group conversation with the characters. I think that the book had a very good theme. Which was that rumors are just sad ways to ruin good friendships, I also learned that when things like that happens you have to fight for your friendship and the recognize the importance of your friendship. For example "zoegirl: i'm so proud of u, Maddie!" Just some of the words of these friends said to each other during their good times. Overall the significance of the book to our lives is that friendship should be stronger than the rumors that go around about you or others."I'm single I don't need a guy I love being on my own with you guys" this quotes from the book shows how the character in this book really cherishes her friendships that she's even putting back the "most important thing for most girls in high school and that is to have a boyfriend, she is focusing more on her relationships with the people that matter to her the most.

I definitely thought I had read this book before, but now I'm not so sure. I definitely read the first two in this series, back when they were new ten years (omg) ago and I was actually the intended audience! The version I read has been updated recently (2014): they are now texting not IMing, music and pop culture references have been updated, and the way events occur is different since they can now communicate instantaneously instead of talking when they get back to a computer.

Anyway, in this third book in Lauren Myracle's Internet Girls series, best friends Angela, Maddie, and Zoe are in their senior year of high school. They go through everything a normal HS senior does, from preparing for Prom to picking colleges and waiting for admission letters to having boyfriend troubles or having sex for the first time. There is some heavy content; underage drinking, premarital sex (although carefully considered), and some light language. For all the flack these books get there really isn't that much content contained on the page, just discussion of it after the fact - and it's all treated very seriously. The format makes this a very easy and quick read that doesn't feel like work - excellent for hi-lo readers. I would not hesitate to give this book to any high schooler and even some older middle schoolers - this is real life and although the book is very light hearted the potentially problematic situations are not taken lightly.

Great Book, defenitly learned a little something.L8r, g8r is like ttyl but its when there about to go to collage, there last year of High School. The book is still in I.M, at first it may be confusing because its hard to know whoose talking, but its in different letter and color. That really helps. The book is about the 3 bestfriends, still together after this girl Jana almost messed up their relationship. This time, they go back and forth with doing immature stuff such as sending baby chicks to eachothers home and sleeping with eachothers man. Zoe, the ode smart one ..is in love with her boyfriend Doug, she does everything with him. Maddie, gets back with Ian.. and Angela the one who was boy crazy-is living with her Aunt Sadie who has Pole dancing classes. This book is filled with interesting drama..things that could happen in your school. Especially if you go to Bronx Prep.. things that happened to Zoe and Jana has happened to some girls at Bronx Prep -including me. So if you want to entertain yourself with some drama while your on school break- go to your local library and get this book.. lmao that sounded corny ..but seriously read this book ! Thanks Lauren Miracle ..im going to try to read ttyn if i find it ! Awsome book girl !

1. I loved this book. Mainly because it was like reading someone's diary. It was getting an inside glimpse at someone's private world.
2. I got to thinking about the format the author used and to a reader it would seem easy to write a book in IM, but the author has to establish characters, setting, conflict, resolution, etc all within the confines of the IM conversation and she nails it. She made it seamless. She made it believable.
3. I laughed out loud several times: the announcement of Jana being a liar and when Jana sent Maddie's information to Craiglist. Mainly I laughed when Maddie pointed out that Jana spelled "criteria" wrong. And I also loved the Zoe scene when she is stuck is Jana's car.
4. I read this book in September because it is banned books month. This book has been challenged for several years in a row for the following reasons: offensive language, unsuited for age group, sexually explicit, drugs, nudity. Banning books never makes sense to me, but there are worse books in YA lit that fit the same categories. And banning books makes readers want to read them even more. Go ahead, make that book more popular.
5. And then I watched the first episode of big bunny.

I choosed this book because i thought i would of like it and it would be a great book for me to read and it looked like a teen book. I also picked it because last year i read the 1st two books from Lauren Myracle and they where great and i thought this book would be too.

It was Non-fiction.

The setting whats like all over the place it always took place in the computer IM.
THey were always in school or at each others place.

The main character are ZOE MADDiE and ANGELAS.
Zoe and Angelas are the wilded ones the ones with thier boyfgriends and Maddie is the good girl. They are the bestfriends. THey tell everything to each other and they go though alot in there life and they have to face it and they do but they always stay together.

In this book no was not alot of problems. Only that one of the bestfriends loves some guy that buys her a car and she thinks she's in love but thats not love thats just a thanks.

THey solve problems by she telling the guy the true and being truful.

THis book was okay but not what i though it would trun out to be but it was okay;)_

“L8r G8r” is the fourth book in the “Ttyl” series. This book is about three best friends who try to make the best of their senior year. Throughout this book they face problems like rumors, colleges, and boyfriend troubles. They also worry about staying best friends even when they are all going to different colleges. Even though the book is written in I.M. I thought it was a very touching story. I think this book would be great for teenagers because many of them go through boy troubles, rumors, and eventually college.

This book was much better than the rest in the series. It was dramatic, it was happy, it was sad, it was a little surprising, and it was fun and interesting to read all throughout. I was impressed by the way it was written and happy with the conclusion to the series, as the winsome threesome goes off to college!

It took me awhile to get through this book, it was my last in the “TTYL” trilogy I was reading for my intro to YA literature class. Most of the book didn’t have a plot and the ending left me with an incomplete feeling. Love the first two, skip the last in my opinion.
