Beautiful Enemy

I sold my future to the man who ruined my past.

I had a plan:
Sign a contract and board a plane to Ibiza. The anonymous deal would salvage the smoldering wreckage of my life.

It would not involve billionaire Harrison King. AKA, the reason I need saving in the first place.
He’s as beautiful as he is cruel. A British business titan who’s practically royalty and makes a living getting what he wants.
The man flies private. Dates supermodels. But the crisp accent and cocky smirk don’t fool me. He’s a gentleman on the outside, a savage beneath. Dangerous, rough and brutal.
Because after my attempt to publicly stand up for those who needed it...

He destroyed my reputation.
Now, he’s come for the rest of me.
Except it’s not salvation he’s promising. It’s nights in Ibiza, under his roof, rules, his control.

I sold my soul to a man I hate. Now, he owns me.
I can’t back out. No matter what kind of punishment he has in store.
Harrison King knows my secrets...
But kings keep secrets too.

If you've read Piper Lawson's Love Song/Rivals Series, you've already met the new leading lady and her cocky British nemesis in this addictive beginning to her Ememies Trilogy.  Annie and Tyler's dramatically different friends are going to rock your world apart in Beautiful Enemy, guaranteed!  I adore a wicked sexy enemies to lovers romance and was thrilled to dig deep into this one, brimming with crazy twists that kept me glued to the pages all night long. It's the Piper Lawson effect in all it's glory!

Rae is a beautiful young DJ on the rise-Little Queen- a stylish music mixer and maker and crusader for abused women. In her profession, she's seen some awful things happen and feels strongly that cold, ruthless Harrison King, the beyond wealthy night club owner, has been neglectful in the treatment of the female employees and guests in his own establishments. Rae's denouncement of him sets off a chain of events she couldn't have predicted. Him- laying low, trying to repair his tarnished reputation and Rae herself in the position of proving her own worth in Ibiza, working at a 2nd rate club in need of some TLC, which is now the only game in town.

Well, if that sounds like a captivating way to start an awesome new story, it totally was!  The push and pull between Rae and Harrison, both wanting to be the ultimate victors in their own cat and mouse game, was so freaking delicious, sometimes it felt like a fateful attraction.  Wow, do these two burn up the pages with just a firey glance!  Their chemistry was sensual, burning hot and sizzled way off the charts. What will two beautiful enemies do with these surprising, hard to ignore feelings?  What's more important to them at the end of the day- business, revenge or their ultimate pleasure???

Rae and Harrison were an explosive couple and theirs was the kind of wildly, unpredictable
story you won't want to miss. With a suspenseful cliffhanger and 2 more books to go, I know I'm all in for every juicy detail of these ememies who may or may not be something more!  Beautiful Sins cannot come soon enough for me!

An advanced copy of this book was given and this was my honest review of it.

The characters were shallow and superficial, their hot and cold toward earth other was annoying, they had no chemistry and no reason to be attracted to each other. There was no rhyme or reason for anything that happened. It was just jumping from one point to the next without the development to get there. Everything was surface level and boring. Ended on a cliffhanger that I couldn’t care less about.

Star Rating : 4/5 Stars

POV : Dual

Plot Summary :
This is Rae's book. Harrison is the one man she hates and can't stand. But now to save herself, she has no choice but to shake hands with the devil. He is the man who destroyed her and ruined her life and now she was forced to surrender to him.

His rules and his life , he is all set to completely control Rae and her life. if only a part of her did not enjoy it. Then this would have been a lot less complicated.

Overall Opinion :
I loved this one! It was more of a one time read for me but as an enemies to lovers romance books fan, this one was definitely worth reading. Rae and Harrison have a tale that kept me on the edge and I loved it.

They had chemistry and the ending almost destroyed me. The two couple were put through some hard tests that they barely survived and I was cheering for them so badly. Harrison was such an ass at times but I sort of got his reasons. There is still so much more to come and I can't wait for it!

I would definitely recommend this one to all the enemies to lovers Romance addicts.

You guys - Beautiful Enemy is LIVE!! I can't wait for you to devour Harrison and Rae's hot Ibiza billionaire-clashes-with-defiant-DJ energy. Grab your copy on all retailers. But first here's a little taste:

“You’ll go as my date. Tell my brother he can find another woman to hang on his arm.”
“What? Why?” I laugh, incredulous.
Harrison looks up from his desk, immaculate in a pale-green shirt that sets off his blond hair and slight tan. “I can want the company of an earnest young music producer in my employ.”
I could promote Debajo, but that would mean being the date of this man I respond to when I shouldn’t. Fancy clothes, booze, Harrison King looking like the god he is while he wraps Ibiza’s in crowd around his finger.
I can’t help wondering what else he could do with those hands.
Harrison might boast about his empire, but he has the goods to back it up, having built a massive company himself.
Would he be as capable if he applied himself to the challenge of a woman?
I know he would.
What I’m less sure of is whether he’d plow through her, demand she bend to his every need until she’s so caught up in his storm she can’t resist it…
Or whether he’d check his ambition long enough to learn what she wants. To explore and test and play, to step out of his need for power like I watched him step out of his clothes that night at the beach.
I swallow, affected by both versions.
Spending a night with him would be more than a quick fix. He’d get under my skin more than he already has.
“I don’t think so.”
His gaze narrows as he folds his arms across his muscled chest. “You don’t want to spend an evening with me.”
I cross to his desk, lift the letter opener off the blotter, and hold it out. “In case you need help scraping yourself off the ground.”
But before I can turn, a hand closes around my wrist, hot and firm and strong. Awareness dances along my skin, shoots straight to my core.
“I said it would be more appropriate if you dated my younger brother,” Harrison says softly. “That wasn’t a suggestion.”
“Really? You’re so damned subtle it’s hard to keep up.”
The taunting is a bad idea.
His thumb brushes the underside of my wrist. Soft, deliberate.
My pulse leaps in response, the letter opener clattering to the desktop. But it’s the tug low in my stomach, the throbbing ache only he seems to bring out of me that has me trembling when I meet his fiery blue gaze.
“I need a date Raegan, and you owe me three favors,” he drawls, his thumb resting possessively on my skin. “Consider this the first.”

I didn't know that this was the first book out of two pr three (and therefore, it ends in a cliffhanger). I have no intention of reading a second part, to be honest. The characters were not interesting enough for me to read another book about them.

This wasn’t the first book I’ve read by this author. I’ve come to love her books over the last few months and this one did not disappoint. I went into this blind and I’m glad I did, it sucked me in from page 1 right til the very end. Harrison and Rae and their chemistry was off the charts! Harrison was one of a kind and Rae was strong and I loved that about her! I love a heroine that can stand up for herself!

This is the first book in a new trilogy by Piper Lawson, a billionaire, enemies-to-lovers story with chemistry, drama and intensity, and the start of what is sure to be an exciting love story.

This trilogy is a spin-off from Lawson’s Love Song/Rivals Series, and there is character crossover. It’s clear that the side characters have had their stories told (and there’s definitely potential there for more), but this one can be read as a standalone.

Reagan is a successful young DJ whose career has started to implode after she posted an online rant about a club she worked at. She accepts a short-term job at a club in Ibiza hoping it will help get her back in the game, but when she arrives she learns that the club that just so happens to be run by Harrison King, the same billionaire who owns the club that she dissed online. So now, stuck in Ibiza and desperate for money, she has no choice but to stay put - in Harrison’s house no less. And he’s a controlling man who is used to getting what he wants.

From the very beginning, the chemistry between Harrison and Reagan sizzles, but neither of them are looking to get involved. Harrison’s work is his life, and he is ten years older than Raegan, but that doesn’t stop the snarky flirting and banter.

“You can flirt with me, Raegan,” he drawls. “I’ll even enjoy it. But if you want me to treat you like my equal, you’d better be ready for all that comes with it.”

There’s quite a bit of back and forth as they tease, but both of them are holding back from the other, which brings some angst. Things slowly escalate, and as attraction blossoms we start to see the softer side of Harrison. He clearly cares about Rae, and those moments where we get to see more of him are really gorgeous. It’s a sign of his growing feelings, and combined with the mad lust between them, the sexual tension builds gradually throughout the book, and it’s all kinds of hot.

“You think you can teach me about sex?”
“No. I think I can teach you about yourself.”

But Rae is only in town temporarily, and Harrison’s focus is on expanding his empire – partially to ensure his success, partially for sentimental reasons, and partially for cold, hard vengeance. There’s a lot at stake as he works to secure the deal of his lifetime, and his past is about to spill over into all aspects of his life, in ways he never expected.

It’s a bit of a twisty road for these two, and while I wouldn’t class this as a romance just yet, there’s this feeling like you’re embarking on a journey that has so much potential. It’s only just begun and my mind is spinning with theories, and I’m excited to continue with their story.

3 stars.

Beautiful Enemy is the 1st part of The Enemy´s Trilogy and I received an ARC for an honest review.
So, if a book checks the below boxes, it seems like a winner to me:
• Enemies to lover
• Cocky British Alpha Billionaire
• Fierce Defiant Female
• Exotic Location
• Teasing Banter
• Heated Sexual Tension
• Age Gap

This is my first read by Piper Lawson and I really enjoyed it. It is set in Ibiza and having been there myself I appreciated the whole story setting and the Islands vibe and beauty.

The story is about Rae, Raegan Madani, a fierce rising female DJ whose dream is to play for the biggest nightclub in the world and Harrison King, a British cocky, seemingly ruthless billionaire with a poignant past, who owns nightclubs around the world. Rae also stands up for abused women and condemns mistreatment of any kind which she has seen far too much of in her profession. So, she is less than pleased with Harrison King´s apparent neglect of guest’s treatment of female employees and calls him out publicly which is forcing him into hiding to rebuild his reputation and for Rae to prove to herself and everyone else how much she is worth in a man´s world even if she finds herself working for the man she loathes.

I love good enemies to lovers trope and this one is no different, the slow burn of their sizzling attraction, the explosive and fun push n pull between them and the sparks of their sexual tension, which both try to resist, grabbed my attention. There are a few moments in this book to which I really swooned because they are just WOW moments.

I loved the teasing banter, Rae´s defiance, Harrison´s crumbling walls and their journey to something that could possibly be more than they bargained for.

I was entertained by a great plot and cannot wait for the next book as yes, this one ended on a cliffhanger.

Update Audiobook:
I was so excited when I heard that The Enemies Trilogy would come on Audio and I have to admit that when reading the books I already had Shane East in my head as Harrison King. Now Samantha Cook as Rae is just the icing on the cake. This was the perfect choice to bring these red hot Enemies to Lover's story to life! Fan-Freaking-Tastic performances by Samantha and Shane! Just to say I do have a girl crush on Samantha`s British male voice makes as you cannot but melt!

**Audio Review **

Beautiful Enemy by Piper Lawson was an age gap, enemies to lovers romance that I could not stop listening to! This is book 1 in Piper’s enemies trilogy, and I am hooked! Harrison and Rae’s romance is full of spicy sexual tension, passion, scandal, and of course love, but that ending has me ready for more!

Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East narrate this audio, and this is the first time I’ve heard these two paired together. #Eastmoor should be a thing because their voices complimented each so well. Samantha’s performance of Rae conveyed her brave, fierce, and determined personality! I’ve always loved Samantha’s male voice, but her British male voice?! Get ready to melt! Shane showcased Harrison’s character arc brilliantly going from arrogant, heartbroken grump, to a dominant passionate lover! The chemistry between Rae and Harrison was absolute fire!

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of enemies to lovers with a hot broody nightclub owner, a saucy up-and-coming D.J., nightclubs in Ibiza, forced proximity, PR stunts, loyal friends, business deals, a birthday on a yacht, candid photos, drama, explosive steamy times, a pro footballer brother, and an ending that will only leave you wanting more, then you’ll love the beginning of Harrison and Rae’s romance! I am so eager and anxious to see where their
story leads next!

WOW! My heart stuttered at the ending!

Rea has landed in Ibiza to do a month long set in a club that has had a refurb and is trying to rebuild its client base. Only problem is that when she arrives the situation isn't quite what was sold to her and she is not happy. She feels duped and is determined she is not going to follow through with the contract and plans to leave Ibiza at the first opportunity.

After doing one set at the club determined to leave the next day she receives a distress call from her cousin needing cash, and a lot of it. Rea comes up with a plan to save the day, but will it work?

Trying to salvage the best of a bad situation she renegotiates her terms with Harrison where they both would benefit. Can they work towards a common goal for completely different reasons, and really are they all that different?

Sexual tension, frustration and finding friends where you least expect keeps you gripped through with a cliffhanger ending. Fab!

Rae is a DJ on the rise and she has no problem calling out billionaire Harrison when a woman is assaulted in one of his clubs. Because of this, her career stalls and she is running out of options. Luckily, she signs a one month contract for a club in a Ibiza, but unbeknownst to her, it is one of Harrison’s properties. Her enemy. So they strike a deal - she has to bring in more partiers each night she plays her sets and he’ll cut her in. But of course, it’s so much more than that.

Piper Lawson is a new to me author and I went into this book blind. I really liked it! The writing flowed and the tension between Rae and Harrison was palpable. There were a lot of twists and things I did not see coming and I’m dying for the next book. I just wish it wasn’t so short!

I really enjoyed Rae and Harrison's love/hate kinda thing they had going on. Like they were completely drawn together and no matter what they said or did, they couldnt deny their attraction. He made me mad in the beginning when he threatened her if she breaches her contract, but I also felt like that was an empty threat. I adore Ash! He's such a troublemaker and can't wait for more. He was hilarious and I loved how he befriended Rae. I just could not get enough and cannot wait to find out what happens next! I mean, chapter 18. Damn.
As for the narration, this was my first book narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and she was an absolute delight! I love her voice! She does a fantastic Brit voice for Ash & Harrison.
Its always a pleasure to listen to Shane East. Both he and Ms. Brentmoor use their voices to pull you into the story even more. I loved them together in this!

I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

Fans of the writer Piper Lawson will be happy to know that she wrote another trilogy, this one is called the Enemies trilogy and ‘Beautiful enemy’ is the first book in it. The fact that it’s a trilogy means that this story ends with a cliffhanger. But don’t worry the second book of this trilogy will be published in June 2021. So the wait is short.

If you have read the ‘Rivals trilogy’ of this writer than you will recognize Harrison King and Raegan Madani, the main characters of this story. Rae (as friends call her) is Annie’s friend and Harrison is Tyler’s friend. But if you haven’t read that trilogy, don’t worry. You don’t have to the ‘Rivals trilogy’ before reading this book.

In the story ‘A love song for dreamers’ Rae and Harrison met for the first time during Annie and Tyler’s wedding but that first meeting didn’t go well and since then things haven’t gone better. They have become enemies. So It’s quite a shock when Rae discovers that she is tricked into working for Harrison for a month and not only that but they will be living in the same house too! But a contract and circumstances make that Rae doesn’t leave Ibiza and Harrison the next day. So now Harrison and Rae will spend one month together, day and night . But what starts as a punishment (or a game for dominance between two enemies) slowly involves into something else, where secrets and painful pasts are shared, where little attentions say so much more than words. But deep down Harrison is a ruthless business man and Rae is a woman fighting in a man’s world to become a top DJ and to protect vulnerable women to be safe. One person thinks with his mind and one follows her heart. Can they find common ground or was it never meant to be?

From their first meeting in ‘A love song for dreamers’ I have been waiting for Rae and Harrison’s story. You could feel the tension and the enemy vibes coming of them in big waves so I knew that their story would give fireworks and it did. But from the start you could also feel the attraction/fascination between these two characters and I liked that too. Rae is an interesting character, a mix of a confident, righteous, talented woman but she’s also hiding a vulnerable side and a big heart. I really like her character, how she looks at Harrison and sees what he’s hiding deep down. Because when Rae looks at Harrison she sees more than a just successful, wealthy businessman, she sees the lonely, caring and attentive guy too. Harrison starts out as a cold, intelligent businessman but slowly he reveals an other side too, a side that is loyal to the people that he cares for, a determination to hard work to make his (deceased) parents pride and to give his younger brother a good life. And just like Rae, he also looks deeper than just the surface, he tries to look into Rae’s heart and her dreams. The banter between Rae and Harrison is light, sexy and fascinating. I enjoyed it very much! In the story you get both POV’s.

The secondary characters are great too. Harrison younger brother’s Ash is a fun, joyful character. He brings laughter and a little brother fun into the story. Harrison’s employees and friends are friendly and loyal.

‘Beautiful enemy’ isn’t a dark story but a light and entertaining enemy to lovers story and there may be an age gape between Rae and Harrison of ten years, I didn’t really felt it. Because although, yes Rae is still young and looking for her own path in life, she’s also mature for her age. This story is a great start of a trilogy.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW & RATING: 5 STARS

I’ve listened to quite a bit of Shane East’s narration in the past and have loved him in every one and this was no exception and Samantha Brentmoor did a really good job not just on her narration of Rae, but also capturing Harrison’s character as well! Well done.

STORY REVIEW & RATING: 4 STARS

As I go thru my notes on this first installment of Rae & Harrison’s journey, I can’t help the huge smile that just doesn’t want to go away! The love-hate, push-pull relationship they have was charged from the very beginning. It started because Rae is just sass personified but developed into a delicious slow-burn sexual charge that I couldn’t get enough of!

However, there is one thing I could have done with a bit less of, and that’s Rae’s constant insecurity and jumping to the worst possible conclusion almost immediately at every single turn. I got over it quick of course because she’s young, and young people have the tendency to be exactly as Piper Lawson created Rae to be! So as much as I wanted to throttle her a few times, I gotta give props to Piper for the realistic and relatable Rae she created.

This story is just developing in Beautiful Enemy and I am sure I have a lot more #twitchy moments coming ahead, but I welcome them with open arms because with just the little bit I know of both Harrison and Rae thus far, I am invested fully in their HEA! I want them to #win at life, badly! My gut tells me they deserve it!

I’m just beginning my journey into Piper Lawson as well, and thus far she has proven to be an excellent storyteller and I can’t wait to not only move forward with her stories, but also delve back into her past book some more!

I really enjoyed the tension and like/hate between Rae and Harrison, it kept the story interesting and I can’t wait for the next book. I loved Rae, she’s spunky and full of sass and can’t stand Harrison or how uptight he can be but they need each other in a work aspect and quickly realize there’s a lot more then tension between them!

This was absolutely delicious! I was riveted from the first page till the last and will be reading the next story, Beautiful Sins, immediately. Rae and Harrison are complicated, damaged, beautiful characters, and the push and pull between them was addictive, enthralling and exquisite. I loved it!

I was immediately pulled in to this story right from the beginning. After Rae decides to stand up for something she believes her reputation is destroyed and she decides take a DJ job in Ibiza and later learns that she was hired by the same guy that ruined her, Harrison King.

Rae and Harrison’s chemistry is off the chart despite not liking each other very much and the verbal sparring between them was entertaining. I love them watching them get to know each other and she realizes there is a lot more to him than a rich guy that doesn’t care. They have an undeniable connection and I really enjoyed these characters.

Samantha Brentmoor does an amazing job at bringing out Rae’s strength and Shane East is perfect as the broody club owner. Together they bring Rae and Harrison to life and I cannot wait to hear more from these two in this trilogy.

Book 1 in the new Enemies trilogy and let me say, I am so ready for it. Loved Harrison and Reagan. Their love/hate romance was so much fun to witness. I have been waiting for their story since the end of Love Song for Always. The chemistry and attraction between Harrison and Reagan radiated off the screen as did their contempt for each other. Loved this enemies to loves/billionaire/age gap romance. I can’t wait to read more of their story. I have to know what happens next in their romance.

Beautiful Enemy is the first in The Enemies Trilogy by Piper Lawson. Though it is mainly considered Rae's story. This Enemies-to-Lovers story is told via dual POVs through Rae herself and Harrison.

Club DJ Raegan ‘Rae’ Madani is out to restore her career reputation, after it being destroyed for taking on the truth that meant going against the devil in disguise of British Business Tycoon Harrison ‘Harry’ King. However what she doesn’t expect is for the contract she signed onto (to fix her career) be under said devil Harrison, the business man who ruined her in the past.
Now under his thumb, will she succumb to his rules and ways of life?

Having already been introduced to Rae in Annie and Tyler’s The Rivals series. We are able to delve deeper into her life and world with her story within Beautiful Enemy.
I loved the unpredictability of her character, making you guess what she was thinking, feeling or would do when it came to people or situations. Especially when it came to be around Harrison.
Rae was definitely not your typical FMC, which is why I loved her more. The fact that she was willing to take on the world in this man's world to prove to not only herself, but everyone else that she could do whatever she set her mind to and make it in the DJ world, that is mostly considered a man's world only.
As for Harrison, though he could be an idiot at times. I still loved him, especially when he started to bring his walls down around Rae. Showing his vulnerable side and proving there was more to him, than what everyone sees and what he shows to the world.

I loved that though Piper laid out a separate path for each of them to take to their journey, they couldn’t help but somehow entwine constantly while on their paths and find a way to somehow always come together. Showing that there was something there pulling them to one another, that definitely needed to be explored. But at the same time, I enjoyed how headstrong both of them were too. Not willing to give in first, because of their drive for their career.
The push and pull between Rae and Harrison, made their story all the more alluring and intriguing. Almost as if a competition between them both, seeing who would give in first.

From the get go, you could see and feel there was something there between Rae and Harrison. Whether they wanted to admit it or not, it was a force that throughout the story was building up slowly but surely leading to the inevitable explosion. Like the pressure within a volcano building up over time, only for it to finally erupt.
Leading to the beautiful, HOT and Steamy night of passion between the two, that was the cherry on top of the cake!
Honestly I was rooting for Rae and Harrison from the get go, despite being opposites, you could tell they were made for each other. And as they say opposites attract, which was definitely the case for them both.

Piper Lawson has done it again. Her books never cease to amaze me, and Beautiful Enemy is no exception to that. Especially with that ending!
Safe to say, I can’t wait to see what happens next in Beautiful Sins, the next part in The Enemies Trilogy.

I'm a fan of Piper Lawson's work! I absolutely loved reading The Rivals series! I've been  meaning to read the last book A Love Song For Always, but I'm just not ready to say goodbye to this amazing series. The heroine, Rae was featured in The Rivals series. I didn't realize it was her until I was a couple of chapters in!  Beautiful Enemy is an age gap, enemies to lovers and billionaire romance, and book #1 in Piper Lawson's latest work, The Enemies trilogy. The setting is amazing! Rae is definitely a sassy and strong willed character! And is not afraid of speaking her mind to Harrison (hero). There's an undeniable attraction and tension between Rae and Harrison. Harrison is surprised at Rae's behavior towards him, he is not used to someone telling him off or putting him in his place. But, Harrison secretly loves it. Harrison may come across as arrogant, however there is more to it than meets the eye. He is ambitious and he likes to get things done his way. But he also cares about the people who are closest to him. Rae doesn't easily trust people or let anyone in. She also deals with anxiety. Oh boy! The heat and s*xual tension between these two...it's indescribable! And I loved their friendly batter! Oh my the ending!! Can't wait for book #2!! Overall, if you love contemporary romances please check out Piper Lawson's work!

Rae is an American DJ, she loves creating electronic music and Harrison (hero) is a British billionaire. Rae and Harrison's first encounter with each other wasn't a pleasant one to say the least. Their paths crossed again at a holiday destination, Ibiza, Spain. It was supposed to be an easy job for Rae, DJing at one of clubs at a dream holiday destination. Rae wasn't aware that the club she was supposed to be DJing at, was actually owned by Harrison. Rae doesn't have a choice; she is stuck, locked in a contract for a month.

I wonder if Piper Lawson gets tired of writing 5-star books. I doubt it. I certainly don’t get tired of reading them. This one, as always, is a cliffhanger, but it’s not one of those miserable, nail-biting ones that make you want to hunt down the author so you can gain some closure. I expected it and prepared myself so I’m content to wait for book two. Mind you, I wish I could read the entire thing immediately, but I know Piper’s MO so I can handle it.

Rae, Annie and Tyler’s friend, is in a love-hate relationship with Harrison King, Tyler’s friend and Rae’s temporary boss. Forcing them to spend time together has the side effect of forcing them both to realize they actually like one another. Unfortunately, as in real life, nothing is ever straightforward in Piper’s books. She likes to put her characters through hell, but that makes the eventual resolution that much sweeter.

As usual, the banter between characters is sexually-charged and clever. Early on, Harrison threatens to sue Rae if she doesn’t comply with her employment contract, saying he will sue her for every dollar she owns and for the clothes off her body. Her response is: “If it takes litigation to get a woman naked… Your game needs work.” Another time, Rae tells Harrison something and he seems so surprised by it, she observes: “He blinks at me as if I told him I wanted to buy breeding rhinoceros and start a farm back in Orange County.” But my favorite was when Rae complained about some shoes Harrison got her to go with a dress for a special event. After she trips in the shoes, he worries that they’re not the right size. She tells him, “No. They’re the wrong style… If I wanted eight more inches, I’d have asked for it.” Harrison’s brother Ash helpfully offers, “And I’d have given it to you.”

Both characters were likable and sympathetic. They each have their issues and it’s obvious they make a great match, but it’s going to take a few more books (probably) for them to come around to understanding that.

Beautiful Enemy
Beautiful Sins #1
Piper Lawson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was loud, gritty, sexy and freaking Amazing!!!
We met Rae and Harrison at the end of A Love Song For Dreamers, and their small but powerful entry into Piper Lawson’s epic stories was powerful, leaving the opening to their own series, and I’ve got to say, an epic start it was!

Calling out Harrison King and his lack of protection in his club wasn’t Rae’s finest moment, but she’s been left bruised and damaged by her run in, and the should be made to pay for the company he runs! Harrison is furious, but also taken by the firecracker Rae is! Now he’s about to get revenge, and she’s about to find out! His take no prisons attitude is about to be tested like no other!

Rae has the perfect opportunity to regain her worth as a DJ, she has a month long opportunity in Ibiza in a club, where she can try and gain back the reputation British douchebag Harrison King destroyed! She called him out and he destroyed her career, no one wants her, but now she can see the light at the end of a tunnel! Until she finds she signed a real with b the devil, that devil being Harrison King! Urgh the man is a infuriating as he is sexy, and she’s about to play a month in his club! No way out, no way forward! So no problem, Game On Mole!!!

With laugh out loud banter, 2 finger salutes, sexy as F suits, swimming pools and more deals Rae seems to dig herself further into King’s world, but as much as she wants out, deep inside she really wants in! His British accent, perfect suits, alpha ways and attitude, will hook! Little Queen and her Mr King will burn up your pages, keep you hooked right to the very last page, when BOOM another unexpected turn will leave you hanging!

I can’t wait for book 2! June is sooo far away!!!

This is shaping up to be another totally consuming series from this author. If you have previously read The Rivals series, Rae will be a character you are familiar with and Harrison one you have met before. If you have not, I really don't feel it will be an issue, so you can feel free to jump right in and enjoy! I have to say that this book has me very intrigued. Rae being a DJ is something very new that I've never read about in another book so I found it fresh, interesting and exciting. I enjoy EDM and I admit that I am ashamed to admit that I never realized what a "boys club" it is an actually how few famous female DJ's there are. I'm loving Rae. She is fierce, genuine, caring and a fighter. I also got some soft and vulnerable vibes from her but honestly, I felt we barely scratched the surface with her. Harrison, I felt we got a much deeper look into and I ended up liking and feeling for him. This prickly billionaire has baggage, a sharp edge, a wounded heart, a sweet center and an axe to grind. Right now, I think he is shaping up to be his own worst enemy. The storyline wastes no time in pulling you in and making you invested in these two. The sparks and chemistry burn as bright as the sun and even though these two set off on a slow burning start, when the heat hits it is steamy! There are plenty of emotions to be felt as the story starts to unfold, we learn who these characters are and their enemies to lovers relationship begins its evolution. Of course this is only book one of three so yeah, there is a cliffhanger but I know it will absolutely be worth the wait!! I am posting a candid, volitional review.

I don't know how to rate this. Is it really good? YES. Is it much the same formula that Piper Lawson tends to use in her other series? YES. I give it a 5-star rating for the story and a 3-star rating for the originality and come up with this 4-star rating.

Beautiful Enemy brings back two characters introduced to us in Piper Lawson's last series, The Rivals Trilogy, Rae and Harrison. Rae has trekked off to Ibiza to recover her reputation after outing Harrison on social made her a pariah. Little does she realize that she's walked into the lion's den, and she's about to be at her enemy's beck and call for the next month because she just signed a contract to play at one of his venues.

I feel like Piper Lawson has somehow captured the sense of affluence and revelry of Ibiza. It comes through in the story. Rae is a chameleon of sorts who can sidle into any social situation and look good, fits in high profile Spain. The Little Queen might be a commoner, but she can stand next to Harrison in his Brioni.

Of the King men, Ash is the one I find more charming. Why do I always like the sidekicks in Piper Lawson's books more than I like the heroes?

I recommend this read, and these books are coming out really quickly, so you won't have to wait long to read them all.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.

Harrison and Rae's story started out as a pursuit of revenge from his side after she publicly called him out on assault in one of his clubs. So he wanted to have her at his mercy. But there was also something else lingering beneath the surface - admiration for the woman who seemed to have lost almost everything for her conviction to speak up for those who cannot. And him, as she gets to know him Rae realizes that he is a man who feels deeply for those close to him. As they engage in a dance around each other, she not backing down from calling him out, the attraction gets more intense and he learns that he would do anything for her. But the secrets they each have may mean the end of them. And then Harrison's weak spot came out when he and his arch enemy is vying for the same business deal and everything goes up in flames. In true Piper Lawson style the end comes when you least expect it, leaving you wanting more. As usual, a five star read from one of my favorite authors, grabbing you from the first page and pulling you in so you become part of the story. Be warned, this ends in a cliff hanger but I cannot wait for the next book to continue their story. I received an ARC copy ofmthe book and am leaving a voluntary review.

I'm not a huge enemies to lovers fan, but I LOVE Piper and everything she writes. I knew coming in that these two would have wonderful chemistry & tension between the two, plus all of the secrets that were revealed and the overall emotions during this book just made the reading experience a truly great one!

So here we have Rae, who is just trying to make her dreams come true in a male dominated industry, all the while refusing to be walked over by said men, and especially Harrison. The two have history with one another, and it's not exactly pretty, so when Rae is forced go work for him, she never expects to fall for the man beneath the icy exterior. But since his ice has burned her before, will she be able to make it out again with her heart intact?

I truly loved Rae. She was so badass, she didn't care who thought what of her, and just did what she wanted. She was easily my favorite part of this book. That's not to say I don't like Harrison, because I do, but I feel like I just don't know him yet, which is why I'm glad we still have two more books to go in this series. Overall this is a wonderful start to a new series, especially for all the enemies to lovers fans out there!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
