Drama on the high seas, a shyster in disguise, and a serenading casanova...
Fifth in the Treehouse Hotel Mysteries series!
Chloe and Max are looking forward to a relaxing cruise before the treehouse hotel busy season begins. But after a trip to the ship’s hair salon with her mom, Chloe quickly finds herself mired in a mysterious murder.
Luke’s sweet-talkin’ of the ladies, and his one-of-a-kind hair styles earned him huge tips and the adoration of his clients. But Chloe and Max quickly discover that Luke’s carefully coiffed hair and charming chatter were a facade for lies that ran deep.
As Chloe and Max navigate the festive, fun-loving cruise, they uncover deceit, jealousy and diabolical schemes that threaten the hotel and her mom’s future. Can they crack the clues to Luke’s demise before the murderer sinks their vacation plans?
Sue Hollowell is a wife and empty nester with a lot of mom left over. Finding a lot of time on her hands, and as a lover of mystery novels, she began telling the story of a character who appeared in her head.
The Chemical Bond is a book about Meredith Markette, a young woman who reluctantly enters into the field of law enforcement when her police officer father is killed in the line of duty. Her quest is to discover his murderer and in the meantime come to terms with a tragedy of her youth.
Will this book ever see the light of day? Maybe. Sue really likes the story and character. And writing that book taught her a ton about the publishing industry. Through this experience she has discovered a love of writing stories, and especially mysteries. She hopes you enjoy her books as much as she enjoys writing them.
She and her husband are on the search to adopt a dog, really missing her spaniels that passed a couple of years ago.
I discovered this series on BookSprout and have enjoyed each story from the beginning. I just love Chloe, Max, and Mabel’s characters. The ocean cruise setting for this book was a nice departure from the usual setting amidst the Treehouse Hotel locale. There were plenty of red herrings this go-around. I was conflicted as to the identity of the killer. I had narrowed the suspect list from four to two, but I just couldn’t decide before the big reveal.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series and hope that it will include a little more on Chloe’s possible romance with Paul.
This is a well-written, proofed, and edited book. It is a clean, fun, and entertaining short read I was able to complete in one sitting.
I received a free copy of this book from the author via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This gift did not affect my review of the book. This review is my voluntary and honest opinion.
A new Treehouse mystery only this one takes place on a cruise ship. Chole, Max and Mable are on a cruise when Mable realizes she has left her purse in the hair salon where she got her hair done early that morning. Upon their return to the salon they find the body of the stylist who did her hair. The Captain is called and tells them they can leave and he will talk with them later. That evening at Karaoke, Mable meets a man named Cecil who tries to worm his way into Mable's life. Max is instantly alarmed by him and his actions. Fortunately, Mable sees him kissing another woman and gets rid of him. Chole meets a woman who knew Cecil from his attentions to her mother on another cruise. As Chole gets to know the woman she becomes a little suspicious about her reactions to Cecil and his friend Luke, the murdered stylist. Now there are several suspects. Who killed Luke?
I received this book free from the author for my review of same.
We have a change in venue for this mystery, but it’s still as intriguing as the ones before! Chloe, her dog Max, and her mom Mabel take an opportunity for a cruise together before the hotel’s busy season starts. Mabel has her hair styled on the ship and realizes she left her purse back in the salon. When they return, they find the stylist’s dead body!
Later Mabel meets a creepy guy that makes moves on her and Max doesn’t like him. Catching him with someone else, Mabel dumps him quickly. But there is suspicious activity going on here. Is there a connection to Luke’s murder? Can Chloe solve the case before the murderer makes the next move?
Here is another fun cozy mystery in this series! Great characters, a fast-paced plot and a mystery to tackle, keep the reader avidly following along trying to figure out who did what and why! Grab your copy and join the hunt for the murderer!
It’s winter at home & the resort is finished, so Chloe, Max & Mabel are on a cruise that includes dogs for some rest & relaxation. They’ll be cruising for the next week. First on the agenda is a trip to the hair salon for Mabel. When she realizes her purse is missing, they rush back to the salon & find a body along with her purse. Max is loving the trip also, even though there are a couple of people that he doesn’t like. Chloe finally figures out who the murderer is & goes to talk to the captain about who she thinks it is. During the intermission between acts one & two the captain arrives & two crew members put that person in handcuffs. Chloe was happy to get home after the cruise & Mabel was even happier because she had lots of crazy things to tell the garden club about what happened during the cruise. When Mabel finishes her story she tells all the ladies that they should all go on a cruise.
Another magnificent cozey murder mystery by Sue Hollowell a writer of high caliber that draws you into her mystery's within a few sentences you're ready to settle in for an adventure while trying to solve the puzzling mystery that's unfolding within the mayhem and intreageing lives of a mother, adult daughter and max an intelligent and loving four legged companion .The array of caracters surrounding this mystery are as vibrant as ever and challenging each in their own unique way getting your little grey cells firing to sort out the who done it before the culprit is revealed. Aquier " Crocuses and Corpses" so you yourself can enjoy reading it as much as I have. 🙄😮🤔😑😀😉🙄😊Kat
A Tree House Hotel Mystery away from the hotel. Chloe persuaded her mother to go on a cruise with her and her mother is quite hesitant at the beginning - that is until she meets a man, who knows how to make her feel special. When a murder happens on their second day and they might have been the last people to see the victim alive before the murderer, Chloe's instincts flare. Except for a new location the murder mystery runs its usual course, but Chloe becomes a little distracted with her mother's unwelcome beau I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have really enjoyed reading this series and always look forward to the next book! In this one, Chloe, her dog Max and her mom, Mable, decide to go on a cruise after the craziness of the building expansion and are looking forward to relaxing! But mystery (or is it murder?) seems to follow Chloe wherever she goes! Mabel’s hairdresser is found murdered and a rather pushy man, Cecil, starts taking a lot of interest in her after hearing about her hotel. Chloe and Max don’t care for him and decide to investigate! Oh, well - rest is overrated, right? I’m on the author’s advance team and leave this review voluntarily.
Crocuses and Corpses is Book 5 in the Treehouse Hotel Mysteries series. Mabel, Chloe and pet-detective Max go on a cruise before the hotel’s busy season starts. Instead of enjoying their vacation in the sun, they suddenly find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation. Meanwhile, the obnoxious Cecil (an absolutely hilarious character !) tries to worm himself into Mabel’s favour, Max meets a new playmate, and Chloe is constantly on the lookout for suspects. Different location, same type of fun cozy mystery. If I had to make one remark: this short story is just way too short ! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mabel, Chloe and Max take a cruise as a reward for a job well done on the renovations and to rest before they are too bust for a break .Mabel was ready to go and wanting to try a lot of new things. Chloe stepped out of her comfort zone as well. Little did the know they would find themselves in the middle of murder investigation. People on the cruise were not all what they seemed. Chloe did end up solving the murder. Mabel loved telling the tales to the garden club when they got home.

Chloe and Max, along with mother Mabel, are on vacation and they find a dead stylist in the salon. Helping the captain in this murder mystery proves exciting and funny as the various people aboard the cruise come across their paths. Laughed at the antics of the would be suitor to her mother. Loved the way they analyze everyone and hone in on some suspects. This series is terrific and this storyline definitely is at the top of the list. Can not wait for the next storyline as these characters are the best.
Chloe and her mom enjoy the little adventures on their cruise. Karaoke, broadway productions, and fine dining give the ladies ideas for updates and fun features to add to the schedule back at their own treehouse hotel
A smarmy Romeo or two try to curry favor with mom, and things get lethal
Drama and tragedy packed travel cozy

Crocuses and Corpses is the fifth book in the Treehouse Hotel Mysteries series and is an entertaining cozy mystery.
Murder and mystery follow Chloe, Max, and Mabel on a relaxing cruise. Guess the cruise won't be so relaxing after all! This book is fun to read and has great characters, multiple motives, suspense, and danger. I loved it! I read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book with no obligation.
Max, Chloe and her mom,Mabel, go on a cruise as a break between completing renovations and a busy season for the hotel. Shortly after having her hair done, Mabel returns to the hair salon to find the stylist has been murdered. With no shortage of suspects can Chloe and Max figure out who the murderer is while making sure her mom has a fun holiday . This series keeps getting better with each book. I am looking forward to seeing what their next adventure will be.
This is the first book in this series that I have read but you can bet that I will go back and read all of them now.
Chloe and Max are off on a cruise before the season gets busy for them. Unfortunately Chloe is pulled into a murder on the ship. She and Max will need to get this one solved before the cruise ends.

Chloe and her mom were having an awesome time on the cruise Mabel booked...until the smooth-talking hair stylist turned up dead. I was so sure I knew whodunit, but wow what a surprise at the end! I loved when Mom got back home and was making a big show of telling the garden club about their adventures then decided the whole club needed to go on a cruise. Oh boy, Chloe's gonna need some reinforcements for that! Will be borrowing the next book soon in KU!
Crocuses and Corpses (Treehouse Hotel Mysteries Book 5), my fourteenth enjoyable short (105-page) read from author Sue Hollowell that I finished in about 90-minutes. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with Lavender and Larceny (Treehouse Hotel Mysteries Book 6) next on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.
Another very enjoyable book. Chloe, her dog Max & her mother Mabel are on a cruise. I wonder if there really is a cruise ship that takes dogs as well as their owners? Anyway, Mabel has her hair styled on the ship early the first morning. Later the man was found dead. In the evening a very smarmy man is all over Mabel. Will she see through him? Will Chloe solve the murder?
Crocuses and Corpses is Book 5 in the Treehouse Hotel Mysteries. Sue Hollowell is written another wonderful story. Chloe, Max and her mother are on a cruise. Of course there is a murder and the investigating begins! Sue Hollowell has realistic characters and Chloe and Max are interesting. If you enjoy clean cozy mysteries, you will enjoy this book. I received an arc for my honest review.
The fifth book in the Treehouse Hotel Mysteries series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Chloe, Max, and her Mother go on a cruise there is suspense, drama, danger, murder, twists, turns, and mystery I enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Chloe and her mother go on a cruise. Her mother wants to get her hair done and is she wowed by the hairdresser. So much so that she forgets something in the salon and when she goes back to the salon something wicked has happened to Luke her hairdresser. Chloe, Max and Mabel attempt to find the killer before the boat docks . I received an ARC for this book and this is my honest opinion.
I love the idea of a cruise that allows you to bring your dog, but it’s only fiction. I know, because I checked! Closest thing is one that the dogs are in a kennel on the ship. Oh well! The book was really good and I loved the characters, especially Mabel! What a hoot she is! Can’t wait for the next one!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was a major departure from the first ones as it was based on a cruise ship so it did not have the large cast of characters from the town. It was a fun read with several twists and turns and a surprise ending. I enjoyed this and will continue to read the series.
Another good treehouse hotel mystery even if it didn't take place in the hotel this time. I have read the previous ones and enjoyed every one of them. This one is no exception it was just as good as the rest!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Chloe, Max, and her Mom take that cruise they planned, but find themselves involved in deception and murder. I laughed at the karaoke performance and especially enjoyed Max sniffing out the clues.
As Chloe Max and Mom take a cruise it starts off with a murder in the salo. Interesting interaction with the characters and people on the cruise. Great reading thanks
Another wonderful fun book to read in this wonderful series. I love the characters of Chloe and her dog Max. Loved reading...Sue Hollowell is a wonderful author. I highly recommend reading her books...
After the expansion of the Treehouse Hotel is complete, Chloe and Max decide to take a cruise. Chloe decides to visit the hair salon and soon discovers that Luke likes to sweet talk the ladies which gets him large tips and fondness of his clients. Unfortunately Max detects that Luke’s expertise in hair styling and charm is fake, nothing but lies. As the cruise continues, Chloe uncovers lies, jealousy and schemes that threaten the hotel. Can they unravel the clues in time before their vacation is a bust? Lots of twist and turns to keep you guessing who the killer was. This was an enjoyable read. I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book is a quick fun read and completely enjoyable. Chloe convinced her mom, Mabel, to go on a cruise. That is when the trouble starts. With one murdered hairdresser and one potential con man to worry about, can Chloe keep her mom safe? The characters are developing nicely and the storyline is just plain fun!
