Leo Hart is the sexy CEO who is about to get everything he always wanted; she just needs to say yes…

I’m back after an 18-month absence. Persistence, determination, and getting what I want are what I’m used to. And now that I’m CEO, I’m ready to conquer it all. But it turns out my biggest challenge isn’t in the boardroom.

It’s the surprise son I didn’t even know I have… with Jess.

We were at each other’s throats for years, except that one time when we aimed a little lower. Jess is adamant we stick to co-parenting only. But when we agree to temporarily live together so I can bond with our son, I decide to use my CEO tactics to persuade my favorite redhead to upgrade our frenemy co-parenting titles to something more.  She’s strong-willed and drives on the side of caution, but I’m confident that she and I—well, we were always going to end up together.

Always with You is the third sweet and sexy standalone novel from the Matchbox series where you can revisit all your favorite characters throughout. Readers who enjoy enemies-to-lovers, secret baby, and second chance romance may just fall for Leo!

Always With You (Matchbox #3)
Written by: E.H. Lyon

How often does the blurb of a book make you take a chance? I will admit I’m probably missing a lot of good books out there so every now and again I take a chance. I took a chance with this book and I am so glad that I did.

This is a beautiful second chance story for Leo and Jess. This couple has been dancing around their attraction to each other for years. Friends have seen it as have others but it seems they like to play the game so neither of them have actually made a move until the night before Leo is leaving. Everyone knows he will be gone; no one even Leo figured it would 18 months away though.

They give in, give up the little jibes, give in to the electricity that happens when they touch each other and agree that this night will get rid of the back and forth.
Instead what it does do for each of them is open their eyes, opens their minds and leaves an opening for possibility and as time goes by it has also given Jess a surprise that she will eventually have to let Leo know about.

Back now and ready to take over the family business Leo spends his first night home at a favorite tavern with good friends. It’s where he sees Jess again, it’s where Leo realizes that Jess is the one, and it’s where he finds out he Jess has been keeping something from him.

This is where the story can go so many ways and E.H. Lyons took Leo and Jess along with readers in the right direction. There is so much for this new family to work out. Leo changed while he was gone, Jess has been a single parent and now three lives are in line to change again. The biggest thing for this couple is time and communication. With time this new family may bind, with communication they are sure to make progress but there also needs to be discovery. Should they just co-parent or can Leo win Jess’s heart so they can become more than co-parents but a family? The attraction part moves from smolder to combustible sexual attraction not surprising, but where one has realized this is it, this is the one person they want forever, the other person is still fighting with emotions and trust.

Always With You made me smile, made me laugh, made me remember 3:00 a.m. feedings and had me rooting for Leo and Jess and baby Sam through the entire story. It also made me realize at the end that sometimes romances like this are the escape we all need to feel good at the end of the day.

The premise intrigued me, and though I wasn’t exactly let down, I have mixed feelings about this book.

Mostly, I didn’t enjoy the writing style. We get most of the thought process of the characters, but most of the time, their actions contradict their feelings and they KNOW it, yet they do it anyway. I admit it annoyed me a whole lot.

And it made me sad too, because I liked those characters. Leo was swoony, except when he chose to annoy Jess instead of letting her know his true feelings. He steps up to take care of her and their son without batting an eye. Jess was a piece of work, denying her own feelings and pushing Leo away–for reasons I could kind of understand–but she was also a good mother to Sam.

The other characters were mostly there to further the plot, giving advices that the main couple didn’t follow, and I would have liked to see more of the dynamics inside the group of friends.

It was a miss for me, but not by much.

Quickie

- Series: Matchbox #3 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #enemies to lovers #one night stand #surprise baby
- Triggers: N/A
- Main couple: Jessica Hale & Leo Hart
- Hotness: 3/5

- + I loved how Leo tried to seduce Jess
- – I wasn’t a fan of the writing style

I have been waiting for Jess and Leo's story. For 18 months he left after the night they had. That wasn't the reason why he left though. Unknown to him, that night had resulted in something that bound them forever. And now he's back, he knows it's time to make Jess understand that it wasn't hate between them. But it's something more.

I loved their banter and the push and pull between them. But tbh it does get frustrating especially with Jess, she keeps denying their chemistry and disguised it as hatred and despise. Kudos to Leo though, for being patient and playing her game because you know what happens in the end anyway.

4.5 Stars for Always With You ( Matchbox #3)
This is Leo and Jess’s story and if you love enemies to lovers, small town romance and second chances, Always With You should certainly be on your radar.
Leo and Jesse have always danced around the attraction they felt for each other but the only time they decided to acted on the attraction had their life’s changing forever.....
Leo left town after that one night but now 18 months later he is home ready to take over the family business what he didn’t expect was bumping into Jess at the local tavern would have all those past feelings coming to the surface but what will he do when he finds out Jess has kept a massive secret....
Jess has devoted her life to her son Sam and truth be told she always wanted to tell Leo he was a father but him leaving town left her with no choice but to raise Sam alone. When she sees Leo across that crowded bar she knows it’s time to tell, but how will the man she has loved forever take being told you are a dad and your son is 9 months old.....
This book touched me on so many levels, I swooned and I sighed as I watched this couple go from co-parenting to lovers and eventually to a family. I loved how Leo was doing everything in his power to prove his love for Jess and Sam and I loved how Jess always put her son before her own feelings for the man she has loved from a distance. This is a romance about learning to trust, about building a future and becoming a family. I loved this couple and I found myself hoping and wishing that they got the HEA they so deserved. Their journey was an emotional yet entertaining one and I was so happy to join the journey. . I love this series and I highly recommend you one click this gem of a read.

This is the book I have been waiting for and had high expectations, and it was absolutely awesome. Worth every moment I waited. It was sweet, hot, romantic and I absolutely adored it from beginning to end. It also easily stands alone but it will be much better if you read the first two books in the series,

It stars Jess who has been quietly raising her son, Sam for 9 months. She has a great group of friends helping her and no one has asked whose the daddy yet. Though her friends suspect its Leo who has been away for the last 18 months.

Leo is back in town and he has missed Jess so much that he goes looking for her and their friends at his first chance. And lets say he is the one with a big surprise waiting for him when he finds Jess. It was a wonderful scene and I would hate to ruin it for anyone.

Leo and Jess have a very hot relationship. They have never dated each other but they each get very irritated with each other all the time. And one night that exploded for them and now with him back in town and Jess and Sam are a packaged deal, he has to form a deeper relationship with Jess to make it work.

But 18 months away causes several obstacles in their path and I loved watching them deal with them in a mature manner. I loved both characters and how true to each other each one is. They have known each other as friends for several years and that gives them a good foundation to build on.

This was the best book in the series and a wonderful second chance at love with friends who go from friends to lovers to parents ad roommates.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have loved everyone of these stories in the Matchbox Series and this one did not disappoint. I have wanted to read Jess and Leo’s story since the first book and this book was perfect.

Jess is a fiery woman that speaks her mind. She has never been afraid to go toe to toe with Leo. They definitely have a love hate relationship. They decide one night to just go for it and let out all of their frustrations. Leo is leaving the next day so it’s perfect. Little does Leo know that Jess gets pregnant that night. Jess is a kick ass single mom doing it all on her own when Leo returns 18 months later. Leo steps up and tries to be the best dad he can possibly be.

Leo is the perfect man. The minute he finds out about his son, Sam, he steps up every way possible. He has been in love with Jess for years and is hoping with Sam in the picture now they can make it work. How he treats Jess and Sam is beautiful. He wants to be the man that both of them deserve.

Jess wants nothing then to be just a co-parent with Leo, but neither one of them can deny the attraction between the two. All they have to do is give in.

This book will make you make you feel all the feels! Can’t wait for the next one!

Jess has been a woman. Holding down her job. Raising her baby with no baby daddy anywhere in sight. Eighteen months ago, Jess's one night stand disappeared - never knowing he left a little surprise behind. Now Leo’s back and wants to dive right in, but Jess has some major feelings on the matter. Where has he been? Why does he think he can just take over her life when he’s been gone for so long? They didn’t even REALLY like each other to begin with - just had some major chemistry. Leo’s persistent, though, and really wants to try to make a solid go at a relationship. For their son, he says. The same chemistry that drove their one night stand, just may make this the start of a solid relationship - for themselves.

Always With You was a sweet, enemies to lovers romance. Jess was pretty prickly, but it’s really no surprise given the circumstances and the fact that they never really had a relationship previously. And while Leo does come across as a little over the top pushy, you can’t help admire the desire he has to jump right into fatherhood with both feet. Overall, it was a sweet and steamy read that will definitely entertain as the two of them find their way to their HEA!

I LOVE the characters of the Matchbox series! I have read the first book and immediately fell in love with the characters. I was so excited to read this book about Leo and Jess! They have a love/hate relationship but heavier on the hate. What they don’t realize is the hate is really to deny the attraction that is between them. I loved how this book was written. Eighteen months after leaving town, Leo comes back to some surprising news... after a hookup Jess was pregnant and gave birth to his baby. I liked the way this was written with flashbacks to their interactions and viewing those differently now that they realize how it could be if they are together. I loved how all in Leo was when he realized he had a family now. He took baby Sam as a sign that they are meant to be together and need to stop fighting it. The only problem is that Jess doesn’t feel that way. Leo’s patient persistence and loving persuasion was wonderfully written and made for such a terrific story. The ending is the BEST!!!!

Always With You is one hell of a story that I was drawn into from the jump. Leo & Jess have the same group of friends for the most part, and they're definitely oil & water when they're together. It's so crazy that their friends have been waiting on them to actually hook up since it feels inevitable to everyone, and they did the night before Leo left to travel for a cool minute. However, more came out of their night than they bargained for. Finally, Leo comes home, and on that first night, he comes across Jess at the bar he's at, and man he's in for a big surprise. Now their journey is going to take a new direction, and it's a crazy direction indeed but so much fun for us as Leo chases & Jess tries to convince everyone that they're better as friends. I have to say that the sparks are flying, so when those sparks ignite, well, let the sexy times commence! Y'all have to read this story, and be warned that you'll want to start it when you have all the time in the world since you won't want to put it down! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Love this story!!! the characters were amazing and I adore the plot.

From second chance enemies to lovers story to co-parenting Leo and Jess were the most entertaining couple out there. I absolutely loved Leo and his determination to get what he wants.

Jess was a though cookie to crack, but hey, after 18 months of not knowing anything from her one night stand who left her with a very unexpected surprise I think she had all the right to be.

The sensual tension between Leo and Jess was super steamy, there was never a dull moment on this book. Their interactions were super entertaining and some super sweet.

Can't wait for the next book in the series.

'Always With You', is my favorite so far in the series. I am a sucker for a single parent, second chance romance that reminds me why I started reading 'Harlequin" books all those years ago. This story is definitely in that category, although a lot hotter than those original romance books. And let us be honest, sometimes you just want a book that is going to keep making you want to 'sigh' in a swoon-worthy way and Leo brings those 'sighs' out all the time.

Jess and Leo have danced around each other for years, always picking on the other, but always being there for each other as well. One night before he takes off for 18 months he and Jess give in to those building feelings, which leaves Jess a single mom. Now Leo is back, and he not only wants his son he wants Jess too.

The Matchbox series is something you can read time and time again when you need a pick me up.

This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and is Leo and Jess’ story. These two have been dancing around each other for years, and when they have a one-night stand before Leo leaves town, there is a surprise in store. Now 18-months later Leo is home ready to take the CEO position in his family’s business, and he meets all his friends in their favourite watering hole when he sees Jess again. Jess know that she needs to tell him about his son, and they agree to temporarily living together so they can co-parent, as well as allowing Leo to bond with Sam. Can Leo convince Jess to give them a 2nd chance? This is a beautifully written story which is emotional, humorous, entertaining, and with love, friendships, and family. I was totally enthralled throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Leo & Jess story is a interesting one. What I love from chapter 1 that she told him straight away I had you child ~not as blunt as I am saying it~ called Sam. I live their banter together especially when she jokes she named Sam after a beer🤣 my favourite moment is when they see one of Sam's first moments which I will not spoil. The best advice this couple has shared is to communicate to each other and then later on🥵 & then joke about.

I hope Nate gets a story cause he is confident that he won't follow his friend on the love boat😘

☆MUST READ☆

First my usual points:
- I do not do spoilers unless warned.
- Read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. I will not reiterate.
- This is a standalone but part of a series based on a group of friends. It’s best enjoyed in order but not a necessity.
- No errors that I caught as far as editing.
- The author was not new to me

This is was a friends to lovers, surprise baby romance. Overall, it was an enjoyable, quick read.

Second Chances are my favorite trope, so it is not a big stretch to say this is my favorite book so far in the Matchbox series. Without giving anything away, I love the direction, the struggles, and the revelations along the way. The dialog Leo and Jess have together tells their story as we see it change over time.

Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Always With You by E.H. Lyon was a sweet and steamy contemporary/surprise baby romance with strong of enemies-to-lovers vibes. I was here for it! I adored Leo and was a mess of sighs and swoons watching how he jumped right into being a dad. Getting to see him and Jess grow from co-parents to a couple and finally a family was the sweetest! I rooted for them to get their HEA and the family they deserved. Really enjoyed this story!

Leo has always been one step ahead of Jess or so it seems. He knew way before she did that they were meant to be. Some misunderstandings happen along their way, but eventually they pull it together to make a go of it. Not only for their son Sam, but for each other. It was years in the making for them, but they do get their happily ever after in the end.

3.5 bumped to 4. There’s a little bit of drama (and it’s not the baby), wonderful characters, a great friend group, and a very determined father. Jess and Leo are frenemies that quit circling one another one night. Jess’s life changed dramatically nine months later. Leo disappeared for eighteen months and went radio silent. When he finally came home, his life changed dramatically. It was refreshing to have the baby’s father hear the news immediately with little drama. Nope, the drama started when co-parenting was discussed. It was fun to watch these two circle around one another. Even though I didn’t read the first two books in this series I had no trouble figuring out relationships and who fit where.

I freaking love these two! You knew from the moment you met them that they were it for each other. Their banter and love/hate relationship made their chemistry that much more explosive and when they got together boy did the sparks fly!!! These two are my complete favorite couple so far and I cannot wait for the next couple to get their HEA!!!

Jess and Leo have always had relationship that was snarky with some serious underlying chemistry. One night together before he takes off for a few months ends up with a little surprise. Jess can't reach him and it is 18 months before he returns. Leo jumps right in to help with the baby and try to win Jess over.

This is another fun addition to the Matchbox series. Leo and Jess have great banter that will keep you entertained. Loved that we got time with everyone from the first 2 books as well. This one will make you laugh, fall in love and throw you a few surprises. Looking forward to book 4.

I really disliked the writing style and just couldn't get past that. It fell completely flat. The progression of the story was super fast and was very unrealistic.

Spoiler ahead

I mean, within the first 20 pages the H finds out that he has a kid whose life he has missed out on and his primary reaction to that is not shock/disbelief/sadness, its sexual attraction to the mum. Um, hello, you're in the same house as your 'never seen or heard of' 9-month-old and mr dude is hyper focused on how attracted he is to the h ?!
