It's supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year. And for Kat Parker, who only has one gift left to track down—which just happens to be the must-have toy of the year—things seem to be going fairly well. But when she suddenly finds herself unemployed and the local mall Santa turns up dead, her dreams of a nice quiet holiday get turned upside down. Hoping to find St. Nick's killer and help him rest in peace, Kat and her friends are forced to go undercover to investigate a mall full of oddball characters where there is no shortage of potential suspects. Can Kat save Christmas and figure out who belongs on the naughty list or will she be the one getting coal in her stocking? Include bonus short Myrtle's Black Friday.
K.L. Phelps never wanted to be a cop, fireman or baseball player. He fell in love with books at a very early age and (aside from the summer of 1977 when he wanted to be Luke Skywalker) he never wanted to be anything other than a writer. Somehow he took a left when he should have gone right (or write) and spent 17+ years as an oncology nurse. He is now back to pursuing this childhood dream. Thriller, suspense, mysteries, paranormal, humor/comedy, there are very few genres that don't interest him and he intends to take a crack at them all.
It seems like I waited forever for this latest installment of Kat & her friends. I was definitely not disappointed. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. Parts made laugh out loud & parts found a tear dripping from my eye. What a wonderful character Chris was. This is a must read for all Kat Parker fans made extra special by the time of the year.
This book was the perfect humorous mystery to escape from stressful real life. It's nice to read a story about a fairly normal Christmas with holiday crowds and a Santa without a mask. I'm so glad the authors I've been reading haven't included Covid in their books. I read fiction to escape and fill my imagination and this book did an outstanding job of that. Thank you K.L. Phelps for a few hours of humor and smiles and a lovely turtle named Snappy.
I love that this author always answers all the questions. Sometimes I read a book and find myself asking what happened to (whatever). This author pays attention to all the little details. This was a fun Christmas book that makes you giggle and also brings a few tears. It’s a feel good mystery book. Snappy is still waiting for his lead roll, but plays an amazing reindeer while patiently waiting.
I loved this book & all the wonderful Christmas spirit that came with it!! Sure it was still filled with a good dose of mystery & intrigue. But the moments I loved the most were all the times I laughed out loud & the warm & fuzzy tears I cried. It was a heartfelt story filled with all the zaniness that comes with every Kat & team story!! Loved it!!
I literally laughed out loud Occasionally cried Recognized myself Again and again - But I still have questions! What was Johnny writing In the beginning Does Kat ever remember Arthur and is Snappy a Wizard? ??? Many many more questions Please write more books With answers
I love this series and have been eagerly awaiting a new one. This one didn't disappoint. I loved this book. The characters are great and I can't wait for the next one.
I just love this group of characters and their quirky ways! I’m always happy to laugh my way through the solving of a murder! And of course, Snappy and his funny Turtle character.
I loved all the characters in the Kat Parker series and can’t wait for the next book. Very entertaining reading for any age. Gave a 5 stars because I could imagine each character come to life.
Missed when first came out, came across by accident just the other day. Perfect holiday story with all the feel goods! I swear I love snappy more with each story and Norman too.
Nice lighthearted romp with zero bad stuff to wade through. Great character development and good stories. Can't wait for another one. Will always be one of my favorite authors.
I’d just been thinking about the next Kat book and Santa sure did deliver! Have missed these characters and loved this whodunnit filled with Christmas spirit and hilarity. Mew!
