I’ve lost track of time since I’ve been trapped on the other side of the veil. It’s okay, though—now that Rys has accepted that I’m his mate (even if I can’t be his ffrindau), I’m happier than I’ve been in a long, long time. I’m free, Lord Veron has finally given up on me, and while the Seelie and Unseelie Court are still working toward peace, humans are under Oberon’s protection. I have nothing to worry about.
So what if my homesickness comes in waves? It sucks that I can’t ever go back to the human world, but I have Rys. My scarred Seelie is as devoted as he is dangerous, and more generous than any other fae I ever met.
Which is why I shouldn’t have been surprised when Rys finds a way to bring a little of my old life—and my love of Christmas—to Faerie.
I am, though.
It’s okay. Turns out I have a bit of a surprise for him, too.
**Gifted is a holiday short (14,000 words) set a few months after Freed. Featuring Elle and Rys, the mated couple celebrate their first Christmas together—and a surprise or two!
Jessica Lynch loves to write! She's been writing ever since she was a child, and spent years writing fan fiction before deciding at the end of 2017 to begin focusing on her original works of fiction. A 14-time winner of NaNoWriMo, Jessica has tons of manuscripts waiting to be formed and shaped and introduced to the world -- plus countless more milling around in her brain. She just wishes she could type fast enough to get them all out!
When she's not writing or working, she's either reading, playing with her family of cats in Central New Jersey, rooting for her beloved Mets, or working on her graphic arts skills to bring her characters and cover art to life.
„Gifted” is a wonderful short story, perfect for the holiday season, part of the “Imprisoned by the Fae” series, set itself in the “By the Fae” verse by Jessica Lynch.
After all is set and done Elle and Rhys are enjoying their new (and lasting) freedom, and the fact Lord Veron has finally given up. Elle’s worries belong in the past, but with time passing differently in Faerie, she might have lost the track of the human realm, but that doesn’t protect her for homesickness, but because she can’t go back. But Rhys has a lovely surprise for her, jus to match the one he is about to get. Christmas is coming to Faerie 😊
A lovely short story, that manages to capture all the magic of Christmas in just over sixty pages.
I get these times where I have no energy to read but then I saw this series. I loved how Jessica made the characters come to life. Every inch of these books was like I was there. If you have yet to pick up these then I would highly suggest you get them. You won't be disappointed.
