Imagine you're running for a train. Imagine your fiancé is beside the guy you're due to marry in two days time. Imagine he runs, laughing, through the closing doors while you're left on the platform making faces. Imagine that's the last time you ever saw him...Twelve years after being jilted at the altar, Jemima Small has no intention of letting any man into her heart. Leaving the risky business of love to others, she runs her cafe and bookshop on the blustery Scottish Coast with her beautiful Labrador, Bear. When a travelling fortune-teller – hired for the Pine Tree Bay Pumpkin Festival – warns Jem that old ghosts are about to come calling, she laughs off the ridiculous notion. But when mysterious messages from the past start to appear, and old flame Matthew Albright threatens the future of the town, Jem is finally forced to face the heartbreak of the past…and the drama of the present. As autumn turns to winter, and pumpkins turn to pine cones, this will be one year that the little town of Pine Tree Bay will never forget...
A fantastic heartwarming story with twist and turns a plenty. This easy read has realistic characters with interesting back stories that get woven into this feel good tale of love, friendship and community. Thanks for the lovely read Gilly
Really enjoyed this book would definitely recommend if you’re looking for an easy read. Super cute story, made me want to run away to a seaside town in Scotland!!
Really enjoyed this novel. I am not an avid reader of romance, ( I would normally choose a crime novel), I would advise readers to stick with it as whilst the story starts quite slowly the second half of the book I binge read in one sitting. Whilst the author was clearly building characters at the beginning, this really paid off later on. Looking forward to more from this author, fingers crossed.
