comes to her own race, she is hopeless. While she knows that others like her exist, she’s never met them. Her mother kept her isolated and held all knowledge of their race a secret. I loved Matching Feathers. One of my first thoughts is that Matching Feathers is like a Twilight that I actually want to read. I'd recommend it to teens (or adults) looking for a Twilight-type read. I read Twilight as a teen, and for me personally, it was too much. The love(?) felt ugly and creepy most of the time and the violence was intense and yucky for me. Matching Feathers has all the appeal of the paranormal romance, action, and excitement, but in a way that is much cleaner and more enjoyable for me. The love story is a sweet, soulmate type love story, but it acknowledges the fact that love is something you create through building trust and making safe spaces for vulnerability. I loved that the romance was portrayed as infatuation combined with working towards building a healthy relationship that lasts instead of being a lustful, body-only-focused relationship. While Twilight left me feeling down, Matching Feathers left me feeling happy. I don't mean to be rude about Twilight. But I just mean to say that this story really filled that niche for me, so I'd recommend it to people who are looking for a paranormal romance but want something with both cleaner romance and cleaner action scenes overall. I also really appreciated how the characters had depth and back stories. I like the internal struggles that the characters face, and I feel like those struggles really added to the idea of creating a healthy relationship by working on personal growth and allowing your partner into that process. Vulnerability and trust were big messages in the book. Loved it!! There were a few things in the beginning of the book that didn't quite make sense to me (how the wings and talons were hidden), but soon I was too consumed by the characters and story to care and I let my imagination fill in those details. (Did I mention I read the entire book in under a day and a half?) I'm putting Matching Feathers on my favorites shelf and will definitely reread it. I've found very few paranormal romance books that I'm interested in reading, but this one is so unique and lovely that I'm so glad I came across it. I think this book would appeal to anyone who enjoys clean romance, forced-proximity romance, friends-to-lovers romance, fantasy or paranormal books. Tara Lytle did an excellent job.

so good!

Loved be introduced to and caught up in this new world! Beautifully written, with characters to love and root for. I enjoyed the storyline and descriptive writing. Very excited and hoping for more on the lead characters and those I want to see more of.

Some interesting ideas

I read a lot. It is nice to come across unique ideas. Really enjoyed the Wingai. Appreciate a strong FMC thought the MMC was bland. Loved the found family. All in all will try next book in the series.
