Upon discovering that Gu Jin was the supporting character in a romance novel, she made an oath to herself to stay as far away from the male and female protagonist.
However, things doesn’t always go exactly as planned.
Gu Jin suddenly finds herself in a contract relationship with the mysteriously handsome CEO, Mu Mingcheng, much to the displeasure of the female protagonist who considers him as her first love. And as if getting entangled in a drama she wanted no part of, the second male lead, Shao Chong, suddenly comes knocking at her door beginning to win her back.
Now she's left with a dilemma: choose who to love and who to leave.
As it turns out, this is less a two volume novel and more a novel in two volumes - meaning that this could easily have been one long book because there's no actual pause where book one ends. So that's a little weird, but not what I'd call an actual problem.
The story wraps up quite nicely, even going back to the idea of who the original Gu Jin was before she "awakened" as someone from another world reborn into the book's world, which I really liked. It's soapy, but that's not a bad thing, and this is a good read for when you just want to relax the ol' brain.
As I advised in my review for Volume 1, this books is spread between the two volumes. In order to see the ending you have to read both. Otherwise you'll feel unsatisfied and your tears will fall like rain.
Another proviso - different translator for this volume. For the most part this has meant that the reading is more natural. Conversation and inner dialogues definitely flowed easier. A couple very minor character names are changed, and there's a few formatting errors, but largely the change in translator meant no loss of quality.
My cautious 3.5 pushed up to a 4 is pretty well deserved. This book had somewhat less "action" to it, as Gu Jin had essentially decimated the doom flags in her life quite profoundly in volume 1. Shao Chong remains a nuisance for part of the book, but eventually Gu Jin slaps him down.
This is very much a volume of consequences. Unintended effects ripple out from how Cheng Xin, Jing Hao, and Gu Jin changed from the original timeline to now. Gu Jin taking a more proactive tactic to her life brought Mu Mingcheng into the circle, a more powerful player then Jing Hao.
Yes that's right, Mu Mingcheng defeated the Male Lead's Halo of Perfection. And like in many other transmigration stories it was beautiful to behold.
Things wrap up. There's a couple after scenes that give us insight into Gu Jin, Mu Mingcheng, Jing Hao and Cheng Xin's life for the next few years. Its a little bittersweet in some respects. We also see how OG Shao Chong so royally screwed up with Gu Jin as well as what happened to OG Gu Jin after being sent back in time.
Again as a warning the proper main story ends somewhat abruptly - enemies are dealt with and Gu Jin reaches a GOOD place for her (especially in training Mu Mingcheng ahaha), but its a bit abrupt. If not for the After Scenes, I would have thought my book was messed up.
All in all I enjoyed this story and was quite pleased with Gu Jin reordering the world correctly.
A primeira parte me deu esperanças de explicar direitinho o motivo do Isekai. Mas, no fim, serviu apenas pra enfatizar a covardia da GuJin original. Isso me deixou bastante triste.

This was way better than the first one! I quite liked the romance and the main couple. I liked the side stories at the end that showed what happened to other characters. I'd definitely recommend this. 4 stars.
