Description Death by poison dart. Forest fires. Government greed. Murder is never simple.
When an environmental scientist studying indigenous tribes in the Amazon rainforest is murdered, Raja and Vinny are called to Brazil to find out why. Solving the murder takes them deep into an amazing world where nothing is small. Not the towering trees, the millions of species, or the human greed that threatens it all.
In a place where illegal soya farmers, wildcat loggers, and human traffickers run rampant, and wildfires burn the evidence, the question still remains. Who killed David Winters?
Jack Thompson is an international bestselling author finding voices in many genres. In addition to his popular Raja Williams mystery series, Jack writes science fiction, political thrillers, paranormal romance, children's stories and fairy tales.
According to Jack, whether reading or writing, what makes a story great is how well it communicates to the reader. Whether presenting him with a hero he wishes he could be or a villain he chooses to hate, the characters must relate to the reader on a personal level. A reader will leave a good story in an improved condition. He may have learned something new about the world or himself, or simply been well entertained. That's why Jack writes.
Another action packed thriller featuring Raja Williams. When a scientist is murdered in the Amazon, Raja is called in to investigate. I liked the way the author injects humor in the unlikeliest of places. It helps the reader take a step back and relax the heart muscles as the story progresses to it's chilling ending. I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.
An environmental scientist studying indigenous tribes in the Amazon rainforest is killed with a poison dart after visiting with another scientist at her camp. The police and ME show up just minutes before the Feds show up and demand this is their case. The case is considered a murder by tribesmen who they feel will not be found. But the scientist, and the state Police feel differently. The autopsy report is very vague and no blood work was done to find out what sort of poison was used. The family of the dead scientist are not happy with what is going on and were told the case is closed. So they contact Raja Williams a PI to investigate the case. Lots of twists, turns, and action with many different adventures in the rainforest. Great story that keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what will happen next. Who all is involved in what looks like a cover up of murder and corruption. This is a must read.
On any of Raja Williams mystery' s. They are the best! You will never regret reading any of these books. I have been reading them in order. That way I can keep up with any new characters or anything significant, that happened in the last book. BUT, when I got an email telling me about this new book, I had to read it, now! Each one is better than the last. If you like a murder mystery, some humor great friendships, and unusual and a little unorthodox, then this book is for you. When I finish one, I have to start another. Thank you Jack, for having your books in Kindle Unlimited.
As always, the books I can not put down. Another nail bitting adventure, this was a great read, loved the interaction that Vinny was allowed to participate in something she was good at. Raja, was also involved in the take down. Left me wanting to keep reading till the end always am glad to read that they all come out hero's looking forward to another new adventure with Vinny and Raja and there new assignment. Jack another great adventure.
A very absorbing mystery, set in the Amazonian rainforest and full of intrigue, suspense and interesting information.
I really enjoyed the secondary characters, particularly Inspector Agador, with his stubborn refusal to let the case go.
"...We have Inspector Luis Agador in Manaus. He has a number of citations as well as reprimands for disobeying orders.” “Always a good sign,” said Raja.
Strange (totally unreal) main characters and how could a person live to be this Raja's age and know so little about the Amazon and Brazil. I was still TRYING to stay interested but the metric system (I can convert) and about the hundredth "try dat" from the Bonnie character was too much for me. First book of his I tried to read. And the last.
Has to be my favorite Raja Williams book yet!! So well written, with great attention to detail and so much information about the Amazon; wonderfully insightful!!! Mr. Thompson has a knack for keeping you wrapped up in the story so that you cannot put the book down!! Another great ride!!
Another great story about Raja and Vinny. Loads of very interesting information about The Amazon Rainforest, things I admit I knew nothing about, but I do now. I hope the next book isn’t too far away.
Another awesome story about Raja and Vinny investigating a researcher's death by a poisoned dart in the vast Brazilian Rain Forest. What they learn there is important to the world, and the secrets behind the murder. Outstanding story. Highly recommend.
Full of suspense, action that keeps you intrigued until you find out what happens. Raja and Vinny go deep into the jungles of Brazil. There’s danger all the way. Powerful.
This book is is action packed from start to finish. It is based in the Amazon rain forest and is very informative. The story begins when an environmental scientist, studying indigenous tribes is killed with a poison dart. Raja and Vinney help the local police to try and solve the case, risking all their lives as usual. Its a complex case trying to identify who can be trusted. A good buy.
