A seventeen-year-old boy with the peculiar name “I” lives in an abnormal, small town with strange residents. He lives with his Grandmother, who never speaks to him. He has no friends, and his peers severely bully him. Shopkeepers yell at him to go away, for he is too poor to shop. Even his favorite teacher ignores him, despite the fact that this boy is top-of-the-class. This boy is completely alone in the world. He spends most of his time writing, and going on contemplative walks. He has attained great knowledge through reading books in a massive library built by bizarre men who don’t speak. Everything in his day-to-day life seems mundane, until paranormal activities begin to formulate in his life. Strange occurrences have happened before, but not quite like this. Is this boy…gaining superpowers? Or…is he losing his mind? With the way things seem to be going in his small town, Croak Park, it’s far more likely that he is losing his mind. If this boy is able to survive the rest of his adolescence without going crazy, he might just become someone noble and famous. The odds are stacked against him, however, and nothing in his life seems to work in his favor. He will have one hell of a story to tell, if he ever makes it out of Croak Park alive.

This read like a 13 year old’s angst-filled fever dream. This read nothing like the Amazon synopsis.
