Rosalind Baker is grieving the tragic loss of her fiancé, Jack, shot in cold blood one night while on duty. Drowning in sorrow, she heads to Serenity, Ohio to visit his niece, who’s offered a place to stay and grieve.

Janine, a nurse and Medium, wants to help Rosalind heal from the horrific crime. Vying for answers, Rosalind finds comfort in Janine's country home and welcoming family.

Deep in sorrow, Rosalind finds beauty and miracles she never expected.

Janine's younger brother Mark is the loner in the family. He keeps to himself, deeply affected by the devastating news, going into further isolation when he hears of his beloved uncle’s passing. Mark, aside from Rosalind, was closest to Jack.

Despite their differences, Rosalind finds a common thread with Mark. Not only does he bear a shocking resemblance to her soulmate, but they share the same bond – a fierce love for Jack – which is undeniable.

In time, she begins to fall in love with the charming town that’s become her own safe haven. The old birch trees and flowing rivers seem to whisper a secret wisdom to her...a clue about life unfolding on its own terms. As Rosalind begins to heal and unravel the truth of Jack's death, she wonders if the "odd man out" is more akin to her than she wants to admit.

Perhaps the lingering spirit of a loved one who passed on just might give Rosalind the answers she craves.

Moving, emotional, and sexy novel of a woman's quest to find the truth behind her fallen hero fiance, Jack's sudden death. Rosalind Baker is a woman on a mission, relocating to Serenity, Ohio to live with Jack's niece and her family during the grieving process.

The reader is taken on a ride of the senses, discovering Rosalind's deepest fears, desires, and heartache over the loss of her soulmate, the life they'd planned, and the baby they'd dreamed of having.

Her friendship with Janine, the psychic nurse who has a catering business and loving family, is a highlight of the novel, showing the strength of sisterhood during major loss.

LINGER is the novel that moves the soul, stirring it in places you didn't expect to be awakened; riveting you in the depths of sorrow during tragic times, and yet feeling the newness of a second chance at love for a woman of 40. This book does not disappoint. Refreshing, sensual, romantic and intriguing. 5 stars.
