EIKI Eiki is a friend of ZAOU Taishi (TSUDA Mikiyo). She has published several solo manga, numerous yaoi doujinshi and one collaboration manga with Taishi Zaou. Eiki Eiki and Taishi Zaou go by the circle name Kodomo Keibitai and publish alone as well as with Zaougumi under the name Kozouya.
EIKI Eiki is the older sister of DAIGO (Daigo Naitou), the vocalist of J-rock band BREAKERZ, and her grandfather was the former prime minister (Mr. Takeshita) of Japan. One of her assistants was the very talented male yaoi artist UZUKI Jun.
I love the angst brought by Ryouma's hypnosis! I thought it would be frustrating though, considering Izumi was really mad, but it was hilarious and even more fluffy. I dunno how the authors do it!! Also, Rei and Shougo's public affection brought out by desperation and anxiety. Lol, that was such a moment!! But now that the secret's out, what is Kisaragi planning to do?
Some of what I put here might apply to volume four, since they kind of blurred together for me a bit.
There is one GOOD thing (their second very loving sex scene), and then something really BAD has to go with it to make up for cosmic BL karma or what? Gaah! Sexual harrasment is no joke, thank you very much. It is a crime that needs to be stopped and reported, not made light of like that. Oh we signed a contract now we have to work with the molesting guy. Uhm, no. No you don't. And you shouldn't.
But I loved Izumi saying „I am not your property“, badass! Call your boyfriend out for overly jealous and stupid behaviour, woohoo!
Slut shaming, wonderful. Or rather nane calling, wheee. And strange amnesia as plot device, yeah. Not. Oh, and no consent while passed out drunk. Sudden bouts of homoühobia, whee! The manga wants to make up for all the good points by piling up bad (and harmful!!) BL clichés on top of each other.
Well, it is an up and down with this manga, but I enjoy the artwork, Shougo as an overly RIDICULOUS but funny character and well as I have said I like how it draws attention to the gender as something that is performed. (Even though it came across much more strongly in the beginning of the story.)
From unconvincing impediments to absurd tropes. Hypnotically-induced amnesia that lasts for weeks, 'cause that's how hypnotism works! The couple falls off a cliff into a river where they get soaked and then find an abandoned cabin that happens to have no heat so they've gotta get naked to warm up!
Around all this nonsense this there's some actual good advice about how relationships work, like putting yourself into your partner's shoes and actually listening to them when they're trying to work out a misunderstanding. And Ryouma continues to be incredibly cute.
Pretty sure I read most of this on September Scanlations wonderful translations before, but I wasn't sure where it came up in the volumes. Still, I love this series so much. It's funny, crazy, has beautiful artwork, and always makes me happy. We need more Rei and Shogo though! I love their relationship even more than Izumi and Ryouma's. I can't wait for volume 6.
So we ended up on a cliffhanger in the last volume. DID THEY FALL? ARE THEY FALLING TOGETHER? WHAT'S HAPPENING. OMG.
Yeah... so. Rei is still best character. I love how he turns to Shougo. I mean, of course, he would. I want to get to know more of this couple, too That little chapter don't mean a thing. I want more of them. HAHA. I just am a sucker for megane-chanssss OH, YEAH. CAN'T FORGET KUROI-KUN.
That's so cuteee. Ryouma's body still remembers Izumi. Yeah, mang.
This volume kind of felt like the leftover book. Extra chapters were included in between story? iono. Feels final even though I see a volume 7 there.
HAHA. IS THAT A HARUHI SUZUMIYA COSPLAY? HAHA. SAILOR MOON... UH. HATSUNE MIKU. is that... Railgun? 'Neon Genesis Evangelion'. That other one sort of looks like the Snow White one.
GEEEE. BODY SWAPPINGGGG.. I love how Izumi is always ready to try topping Ryouma. HAHA So sexyyy. The four of them swapping. YES. HAHAHA. The others that have switched. The guitarists. Kisaragi : "I really want to see Ryouma take it up the butt." BOY, SAME.
This volume had chapters 24-27 THIS REALLY FELT LIKE THE END BUT I SEE ANOTHER VOLUME. SO CONFUSED.
Izumi and Ryoma have argued over Kisagari - Ryoma knows he's a pervert and is jealous of the fact Izumi gets on with him. His jealousy and the fact that Izumi is turning out to be an excellent actor who outshines him are giving him serious performance issues. Kisigari hypnotises him to help calm him down but the hypnotism works far too well and Ryoma forgets all about Izumi! In a totally cute reversal of the earlier volumes, Izumi now has to chase Ryoma and make him fall in love with him and begins to realise just what a hard time Ryoma had, facing his earlier rejections.
It's utterly preposterous and melodramatic, but also utterly addictive. I really like this aggressive side of Izumi. This one's also quite sexy, Ryoma having brief flashbacks and Izumi's constant attempts to seduce Ryoma into remembering him. Guilty pleasure in spades, but so cute, it can't fail to put a smile on your face!
not bad, per se, but it becomes too self aware for its own good. for a series that, for the most part, attempts to take itself at least somewhat seriously, it takes some bizarre turns that feel super unnatural, even in the context of this story and the established tone. tropes and blatant plot devices run amok a little too much here, and detract heavily from the narrative. izumi being so lokeable carries this entire volume for me, unfortunately.
This one was definitely an improvement over the last volume! Their relationship finally had some hurdles to overcome, even if they were a bit stupid (I'm looking at you ). I still don't absolutely love this series, but at least I'm enjoying it a bit more.
Half a star off for the word "slut" when NOTHING happened. UGH. It used to be so much fun reading manga and not noticing the problematic stuff. Oh, well, at least everything else is still enjoyable.
It's better than the last one, because in this one we get to see the point of view of Ryuma and the rape scenes are at least less the 4th. The drawings are still good and the plot still continues to be catchy.
Had a wee bit of a regression with one of our MCs which was a bit disappointing to see (considering he had made so much progress), but I suppose BL tropes are hard to avoid? Overall it was still enjoyable, and he has two more volumes to redeem himself (again).
the more i read the more familiar it feels and i wonder if i’ve actually read this before? i feel so confused. anyways the drama was still silly but once i just accepted it for what it was it became a bit more mindlessly enjoyable again.
Hypnotize?! This volume was super fast-paced. I feel bad for Izumi, that Ryoma forgotten who he is. And REI!! The shaking he had when calling Shogo for help. Oh, the next volume promises yum times.
This volume was an absolute ride!! We got some anguish along with MEMORY loss !! Like this was awesome!! I loved how Izumi had to deal with Ryoma forgetting him and what that exactly meant! and then you get a dangerous moment and forced proximity! Delicious!!
Izumi is too good at acting it’s wow, even Ryoma can’t handle him / i believe Izumi needed this “period” of abstinence from Ryoma, a time when he wasn’t sure of the other being always for him. he needed to learn to appreciate Ryoma better / is this what you call muscle memory?
