Siblings.

Funny how, somehow, it changed nothing, and everything.

Psych!

With the love of her life, and her ex-best friend thrown back into her world, she realizes that not only is she so not over him, but she loves him more than ever.
If only he could pull his head out long enough to see it.

L.L. Ash

L.L. Ash is a Washington-born writer who has traveled and lived across the western coast of the US. She lives in Utah with her husband and 3 kids, all of which are a handful!

Ash has been writing fiction since she was 11 years old, and finished her first full-length romance novella at 12. While her writing has improved since then, her love for literature has not changed. Oftentimes you can find Ash reading an indie romance or enjoying a historical fiction. She has been an artist for decades but found her true love and passion in romances.

But Ash is not content to write a romance with untried characters or predictable ‘happily ever afters’. Ash strives to create honest stories revolving around struggling heroins and bruised heroes, both trying to find happiness and acceptance, just like we in real life do. She writes about real struggles and real hardships, often giving the characters a tarnished facade. But through the constant loving and hating of the characters, you will fall in love with them as they grow and change and evolve through the stories.

As Ash always says, it’s all about real romance for real life.

Hunter and Ivory have a long history that started with their being friends through childhood and sharing many “firsts” in their lives -- until a misunderstanding split them apart. But when their parents get married, they are thrown back together again to deal with the fall-out in an unexpected way.

But despite all the pain from their past, Ivory is finding that all those feelings for him never died and she still loves Hunter! Can she convince him of her love? Better yet, can they learn to communicate and find out what really happened between them that destroyed their relationship? Love and communication go hand-in-hand and keep a relationship on a solid foundation. If they have these two things, will they be ready for their HEA?

I really enjoyed this romance!

The novel unfolds in present day when Hunter and Ivy discover they’re step siblings after Hunter’s mom marries Ivy’s dad. The story then intertwines a series of flashbacks of when the two met and found solace in their childhood bond to survive their difficult families. We learn how they grew up together and eventually discover love until it falls apart after a betrayal. I’ll give you a hint on how they dealt with betrayal -- not very well.

Of course, love never dies. The story is funny, sweet, and sexy. It’s also frustrating because you want to see them together. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

This is a new to me author, but since I like the friends to enemies to lovers and step sibling tropes, I thought I’d give it a try. I’m so glad that I did, because I really enjoyed this story very much.

Hunter and Ivory (Ivy) were best friends who found love, solace and support in each other while enduring a childhood with abusive parents and “loving” parents who enabled the abuse. They got through the abuse by being there and solid for each other. Then there were misunderstandings and hurt feelings, during teen years, that leads to “enemies” in college. Imagine their surprise when they are forced to navigate being step siblings and all of the feelings and history they need to address! Both have supportive and likeable BFFs who give the couple balance in the story.

Whilst miscommunication and past hurts stand in Ivory and Hunter’s immediate path, this couple is destined to be together. The steam and angsty attraction, underlying with a forever kind of first and deep passionate soulmate love, oozes from the pages. If you enjoy friends to enemies to lovers and/or step brother romance stories, then you should give this one a go. I recommend it, as I read the book in one sitting.

Thank you to the Author and Booksprout for the free digital copy of the book. I’m voluntarily reviewing a complimentary ARC and all opinions expressed are unbiased and my own.

Childhood best friends/ neighbors. First kiss. Each other’s anchor but 8th grade Hunter hears Ivy’s words and from then on to high school and to the same college these two are like oil and vinegar, nice enough to stand the other for a few seconds but separate with hate. He was her first in 20 minutes in Heaven where he took her but not knowing it’s her first time and then the hateful words he spewed after her confusion. They both hurt and pained the other but Ivy never knew why he hated her. Until these enemies became something they never thought would happen. Ivy dad married Hunter’s mom.... enemies are now Step. Siblings! What will they do know???

The only problem I’d had about bed hopping. Ivy and hunter will be living together in his apartment when college starts back up and eventually sharing his bed but by 70-80% Ivy is living and sleeping with another man, the masseuse from Hawaii. Then after Hunter’s confession she jumps back into his bed the same day. Hunter will suffer from blue ball syndrome for most of this story, granted he’ll kiss and dry hum with clothes on with a girl in Hawaii but he doesn’t sleep with another woman in this story.

This was a good read for me. I like the connection that they each feel and then all the misunderstandings and drama that entails with that. They both had good chemistry that you could feel through the words and the flow of the story was really good. I am glad that they got the HEA as they both deserved it. Getting there though was hair raising and felt a bit unexpected but that Miss Ash's writing for you. It was a really good read and I look forward to more from her. A book I would recommend!

I loved how they started as best friends which eventually developed into something more. Even though a misunderstanding caused them to drift apart, it was good to read and see that they solved it out with time. Even with all the drama, their feelings prevailed in the end. Such a good read!

I fell in love with both of them. Best friends whose feelings grew into more than just friends. Misunderstandings caused the drift but I am glad that it worked out for them. Loved their chemistry and just how they showed how they still loved each other. Good book!!

An interesting storyline had me from the beginning. I liked how the author presented the story. It was wonderful to see their relationship over the years. It was awful when they were torn apart. It was a good story that pulled at my emotions.

I requested a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review.

Hunter and Ivory have known each other their entire lives and have been best friends and when their parents marry, suddenly step-siblings. Their friendship turned to love but they go their separate ways after a misunderstanding. When they are brought back together, the chemistry is still hot. Do they have a chance to get it right?

Told in the first person point of view, which I always love, sadly this story starts with a sex scene which I am not the biggest fan of. It was an okay read.

Meh..,I liked most of it. She got a little annoying towards the end and the writing was a little juvenile. I liked the beginning a lot. The beginning in the closet was really captivating. It pulled me in instantly.

good but…

Too many typos and I correct grammar. At one point, the wrong form of “you’re” was used. Otherwise, good book
