✔️Callum is Another swoon-worthy man of course he is not from this century, but who cares! ✔️ Maggie who finds herself thrown back in time after she loses the love of her life. ✔️Prophecy revealed and bargains made. ✔️Chemistry that is scorching hot 🔥
I enjoyed this story just as much as book one and I hope there are plans to continue the series. In this story Callum reveals the names of all the men in his and Grey’s “brotherhood”
▪️Grey is the Mighty Dragon - Book 1 of series ▪️Callum is the Proud Wolf - Book 2 ▪️Dar is the Fearless Griffin, ▪️Aidan is the Formidable Bear, ▪️Ronan is the Imperial Hawk.
I can’t wait to read each story and the prophecy for each man’s destiny. Overall, this book was an enjoyable easy read.
Maggie lost her first love, only to seek help from a wise women, given a large sapphire to keep she goes home to find a sword under her bed, a wolf is carved on the hilt and a void is at the top of the sword, Maggie's places the sapphire into the void and hey presto she wakes in the 14 century. Read to find out how Calling be ones her one true love. I loved it. Need to have a story about Dar now.
Oh me oh my. What a great book. I liked how the focus was on the struggles that people go through, and how they can, and do overcome with patience and love. This is very rare in life, but it is good to see that some authors, including you Kim ,that have those wonderful self reflections, doubts and how love can conquer anything. Especially with time travel. It makes me think hmmmm what would I do if I time traveled. The characters strengths were wonderful. I loved how Grey and Gwen were incorporated into this book. I am looking for the next book already. You gave us a taste with Dar!! I can not wait!!! When is the next book coming out?! Soon I hope! :)
As always, Kim never disappoints. The Price is another wonderful addition to her collection with strong characters, and a wonderful journey. I cried, I laughed I was disappointed it had to end.......can't wait for whatever Kim releases next.
Maggie and Callum. She is swept back in time and finds herself in a convent. There she meets the hero who takes her home with him. He is familiar to her without being familiar.
I’m loathe to say anything about the plot because this was so well written. It did, however, lack a good editor. (To the author: contact me for your next book.)
Errors: “jax” — the toys are jacks, book uses both “She as tempted by many,…” — was “Had his father not trained him to detect such subtilties,…” — subtleties “He saw his aunts nod and not a second later,…” — aunt’s “Quite, literally.” — sentence fragment, but misplaced comma all the same “…the last crest before their final decent.” — descent “That’s Lyall ore, forged for your father and extolled with your family crest.” — embossed “What part of all of us walking to the Chapel is discrete?” — discreet “Her low spirts this morning…” — spirits “Take you shirt off,…” — your “I feel, small, and stupid…” — extra commas
What I like about this author, and her time travel stories, is that she doesn’t leave the realization of love until the end. No. Her characters feel for each other and consider what the loss would be if the heroine goes back to “her time.” It tugs at the heartstrings.
Her characters are also written with humor. So appreciated in a storyline that has a constant level of anxiety.
So a four (rounded up) star read, despite the carelessness.
I'm left with a lot of unanswered questions. Again.
First of all, the detailed description of Maggie's past and her ending up finding her way to that woman who gave the prophecy made me believe that she'll probably end up with Derek’s past incarnation or something. That would've made this book a lot more interesting but nope, that's a dead end. So why did author bother with making us feel attached to Derek when his character didn't get any sort of redemption? How did he come to possess all those relics that Callum’s family owned? How does his surname coincidentally mean "wolf"? How did Maggie, who went to great lengths to get back by her former boyfriend’s side for so long feel attracted to Callum within seconds of meeting him?
Maggie - being an investigator in 21st century was so unbelievable. Her personality doesn't match what I imagine investigators to be. Not that I've met any in real life but err, it's still pretty weird.
Unlike “Prophecy”, we don't get any of that clan bonding time or dramatic arcs. So I couldn't help but think that it felt lackluster since the sole focus was only on the duo getting around to realise their feelings for each other.
I really enjoyed this story. Started reading yesterday evening, fell asleep during the night for a couple of hours with my e-reader in my hands and then continued straight on..(with a fresh coffee ☕️ of course !) The storyline is brisk, eventful and beautifully presented, each turn in the story comes gradually, yet not without events thoroughly and thoughtfully described. Good and bad thoughts, reactions, fears and feelings giving this relationship a truly deep resonance, which reflects the depth of love and loss endured. I have to also say the audiobook enhanced this really, really well. A true keeper…..looking forward to the reread too !
Callum is the man every woman admires. He's strong, good looking, and...grieving. Maggie is accepting of the 14th century world that a mysterious sword has thrust her into...and grieving. That's the premise. Maggie grated on my nerves. She is very immature, to the point where I was actually shaking my head at her childishness. He's a Laird...with responsibilities. She's whining about feeling abandoned because he doesn't follow her around like a puppy.
This book was about two wounded spi ris coming together to heal one another with loving compassion. They found joy with each other and with their lives. Maggie was transported from the 20th century to the15th and was found by Laird Callum O'Rourk of Dunhill, who was the nephew of one of the Sisters at the convent she'd been staying with.
Book 2 was just as wonderful as the first. Having the characters weave their stories together was great. My only concern was in book 1 Lady Margaret was great but in book 2 she seemed to become more fragile and older where the children did not seem to age much cannot wait for book 3 with Dar and Celeste.
I can hardly wait to continue the story with the next book. Each character is like greeting an old friend and you want to know everything about them now and in the future. You care for them; you cheer their successes and fret over their failures. You want them to be happy and to find love. You want to share their journey.
Three stars, this storyline has nothing but finding love.. She Maggie, had some serious baggage, her boyfriend died.. So why is she scare of going forward in love.. Whereas Callum from the past whose wife had died also, had no problems.. She did some stupid mistakes and she cried continually.. Set up at the brief ending for the next book.
I think I enjoyed this more than I enjoyed Gwen and Greys time traveling Love story that was prophecied. This book follows Maggie's and Callum's love story through time. I loved the characters and how the love between the two MC progressed from friendship to true love. Of course they had ups and downs and thing to overcome but it ended with a HEA.
I can’t get enough of these, and I’m all set for the next one. Yet another loving tale where fate, magic and destiny draws together two souls, through the never ending corridors of time. Time to heal, to love and to join together for eternity. Brilliantly written, and so great to also revisit old friends from book 1.
Follow along as Maggie slips through time into the fifteenth century to discover her destiny. A fun and entertaining tale. The characters are delightful and the interaction of past characters makes for interesting reading. Loved it and I highly recommend it.
What a wonderful bittersweet story. The ups and downs took me on a emotional high. I cried one moment and laughed the next. I love this series. I look forward to reading more.
You'd expect a 21st century detective to have more backbone. The story goes on and on without anything exciting happening. Completely predictable. Remarkable contrast to the first book, which was much more appealing.
I have enjoyed this book. I used to not read these type of stories but now that I have lived almost 84 years I find they are intriguing to think of going in the past with adventure like Callum and Maggie had.
Book 2, was just as good as the first book. I love the way these two stories interact with each other. The characters and the storyline were top notch. On to Book 3.
Maggie went to see an old hag to have her to work her magic to return her boyfriend from the dead. Instead Maggie went back from the 21st century to 1430. A brand new life for her.
Loved both books Grey and Gwens love story and Maggie and Callum. Looking forward to reading more. Is there a list of order of the way the books should be read.
