An Engaging, Romantic Whodunit
“Mask” is the second book in the Strategies of the Heart series and is just as captivating as the first book as the Reed sisters and the Richards brothers discover the danger they thought was behind them is still haunting their lives.
Lil arrives in L.A. for a vacation and is relieved that her sister, Paige, is doing well after being attacked. The culprit is behind bars, so she plans to enjoy her time with her sister. That relief is short-lived, however, when Lil learns that Grey Richard, a superstar and Paige’s soon-to-be brother-in-law, continues to have break-ins at his house. Matters get worse when a presumed accident occurs on the movie set. Paige and Lil narrowly escape death.
Normally able to handle men without any problem, Lil finds herself tongue-tied the first time she sees her heartthrob, Grey, in L.A. That quickly changes as she recognizes another side of the movie star, and sees the star as “chauvinistic and close-minded” because he lives under the impression that fans assume they know all about him, assuming he is constantly waited on hand-and-foot. Since Lil’s read a lot about Grey in tabloids, he begins calling her a National Enquirer kind of girl. Lil and Grey butt heads whenever they’re together. Still, Lil can’t deny her physical attraction to Grey and finds her emotions constantly at war whenever he’s near.
Grey dates starlets and likes all the attention he gets from his horde of fans. He has no desire to get involved with a Hollywood outsider. Yet, he too is attracted to Lil and sees how happy his brother, Kellen, is with Paige, an outsider. Can Grey and Lil come together on their own terms, or is their relationship doomed? And what about the criminal who wants them all dead?
This is a well thought out, enthralling story. The author, R.M. Alexander, has expertly blended together romance, mystery, and intrigue into this romantic suspense story. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series, “Stricken”. I highly recommend “Mask” to all romance and mystery lovers and everyone who enjoys a great read!

When Lil Reed travels to Hollywood with the intention of checking up on her sister, Paige, and to enjoy a much-needed vacation, she doesn't expect to run into her big screen crush Grey Richard.
Grey thinks his soon to be S-I-L's sister is beautiful if testy, but he's not interested in any affairs- his life is complicated enough.
But when trouble erupts, endangering the Reed sisters, Grey and his brother step up to protect the women before someone gets hurt.
There's a strong thread of suspense running throughout this drama, and combined with Grey and Lil's undeniable attraction, makes for an entertaining read.
I enjoyed this story and will be going back to read the first in the series soon!

This is the second book in the series and I loved it as much as thefirst book. Paige's sister Lil, decides to visit Paige in LA.
Lil finds her self attracted to Grey, kellen's brother, a womaniser. The attraction is mutural and they both battle with their growing feelings while danger lurks in the shadows.
Constant break ins at Grey's house are a cause for concern. The two sisters lives are placed in danger. Not wanting to give away too much, this romantic suspense did not disappoint. Kudos to the author who weaves an addictive tale leaving the reader wanting more.
I cannot wait to read book three. A great and talented writer, I highly recommend RM Alexander.
