First were the monsters who ripped me from everything I knew and threw me in a cage. Next came the men who rescued me and offered me a safe haven.
But my saviors and my former captors have something in common. A decades-old curse holds all the Seelie fae in its grasp, turning them into savage, mindless beasts with the rise of the full moon. Something in my blood cures that rage like nothing else they’ve found. To most of them, I’m nothing but a prize to be claimed.
The fiercely passionate men who’ve taken me in would give me my freedom, but the ones who first stole me will stop at nothing to drag me back into their prison. The already weakened pack that’s welcomed me may not survive a battle.
I didn’t expect to find love among the fae… but I can’t deny the feelings growing inside me. I didn’t mean to get mixed up in a war between them… but here I am. When my newfound lovers leap into the fray to protect me, I won’t let them fight alone.
No matter what it costs me.

Feral Blood is book two in the Bound to the Fae series by Eva Chase.
We pick up after book one and not a lot happens. Things just move along and basically the first part is a summary of the main events in Captive of Wolves.
With the plot we get multiple conflicts with barely any tension. We have the Fae war, the issue with Talia’s previous captures, and then her relationship with the Fae men who rescued her.
Things just move slowly like they drag on or it felt that way to me. As for the conflicts when they do solve things it feels too easily done. We also have lots of time jumps that felt awkward. Last, Talia losses her virginity in this one.
As for the romance it’s blaze-a. The sex scenes feel steamy, but also didn’t feel real. I was wondering on some of the positions and how that could work out. The sexy times are very limited and I really wanted more. Last, I’m still not feeling any chemistry. Talia is just too young for me to feel that the relationships will work.
The one thing I do find interesting is; what is Talia? Everyone says human, but her blood helps them and she can do magic. That’s something I’m curious about, but not enough to continue reading.
First off I'm going to say that I hate the covers of these books individually. Like they are so bad and I would not have picked these books up if I didn't originally see these books in the condensed set. Wolves of Summer is the first three books of this series and focuses on Talia being rescued from her captors. Sylas, August, Kellan and Whitt take her back to their land to keep her safe. They did this because her blood happens to be the cure for the fae turning into wolves uncontrollably during the full moon.
The first three books cover Sylas' pack trying to move back from where they were banished from decades ago. While also trying to keep Talia a secret from the other packs, and from the pack who originally kidnapped her in the first place. Throughout the three books Talia, Sylas, August and Whitt face new fae who constantly put Talia's life and freedom in jeopardy.
Are these books great? No. Are they bad? No. They are just kind of there. I will not be reading these again but I do want to finish the series just to see where the author goes with it. Because the ending of the third book was really good and I want to know what happens next. I wouldn't really recommend this series unless you just want a read that you don't have to put much thought into.
This book is probably more a four stars but it was so addicting, so good to be back with these characters after such a short wait that I cannot not give it five stars!
Feral Blood follows a human girl Talia after she was kidnapped and captured by Fae who can turn into wolves. Fortunately for her, Sylas, August and Whitt came to steal her away from them. We still don't know what makes her blood so special and why she can do magic even though she's human. We'll probably get answers in the next. In Feral Blood, her kidnappers came sniffing around, bringing trouble with them. I also wanted to mention that the chemistry between the four MCs was great and I loved it all!
Overall, a great addition to their story. My only hope is that the next book will be longer if it's the last one. I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters just yet :(
Okay, wow. Feral Blood did not disappoint. Especially since it is the sequel to Captive of Wolves. So if you've read the first book, you are pretty much with the same gang in this one. Of course, there's a crap ton more drama and I ate it all up. Some was a bit eye worthy - like when it came to guys who first kidnapped her.
Then there's was little drama within the group themselves.. which seemed a bit unnecessary because of all the sexual tension going on in their household. Luckily for me, everyone is finally getting some and I here for it all.
As for the cliffhanger of an ending, I'm sure the arch-lords or whatever they are called are up to something. Especially that douche, Ambrose, who looked butt hurt before stating that he wants to meet the golden goose. Oh I mean.. their personal blood donor. He seems greedy and creepy.
Every test, every time I ask for a recommendation, this series always comes up. But committing to a 9-book series? That's quite a thing! However, once I saw the beautiful collection editions, three books each containing three books in the series, I had to have them and I had to start reading them too. I absolutely loved the first book, even though it was quite clear that the first book only introduces the characters. I was therefore quite curious to continue with the second book.
This book was exactly what I had hoped it would me and maybe even a little bit more. The characters were introduced in the first book and in this book the relationship between these characters is developing and growing. I can understand that for some people the development is way too slow, but I like that the author takes her time to explore these characters, what they see in each other, why they connect and why they eventually even fall in love.
The best part of this book though was that the politics is finally introduced! Of course, we saw a few glimpses of the politics and how complicated things can be in the world of the fae in the first book, but now the characters are playing a way more active role in it. We see the smaller conflicts, the rules and magical bounds and promises and we also get to see the bigger conflict. I can't wait to read the next books and to get a lot more of this!
This book is also showing us a lot more of the fae world. I have to admit that descriptions are never leaving a long lasting impression me, but the author does an amazing job bringing this world to life and showing us the differences between the different areas in this world. I also liked how we got to see a little more of daily life in this world, of the wishes and longings of the fae that are not tasked with ruling. And I'm really excited our heroine made a female friend in this world too.
”this was so bloody boring!” was what i said right after i finished the last page of this book. it’s not an amazing read nor are the characters remotely interesting. the one thing going for it is that eva chase has me curious enough and i want to understand why talia is so special.
talia is personally very annoying. i find heroines rather distateful bc she does one of my biggest pet peeves: puts herself in danger thinking she’s stronger than she actually is. there’s truly no weakness in recognizing where your strengths are and aren’t. she’s not skilled at anything, but rather she’s a distraction that constantly gets herself in harms way and her men.
am i gonna continue reading this series though? yes 😭
I'm happy this came out so quickly after the first book! I really enjoyed getting to know Talia and the guys and I wanted more of their relationship. I also have so many questions about Talia and why she has some magic in her. We did see Talia and her men get closer, but we didn't get any answers to the questions I had.
This book expanded the world a bit, gave us information about the war and the archlords that banished Sylas and his cadre to the fringes. I liked seeing other fae and Talia made a friend! Talia also worked on her magic and is getting stronger which makes me happy. Whitt is starting to come into the harem and I can't wait for some foursome scenes!
I did think this lacked action and the parts there were resolved very quickly. An issue comes up but then is gone within a chapter when I was hoping it would build to a bigger battle. I'm hoping this is just a lead up to a big fight and the ending suggests something may happen next book. Good thing we don't have a long wait!
Kidnapped human Talia is coming into her own in the second book in the series. She's learning to defend herself and to trust the werewolf pack she's allied herself with. In turn, the men deepen their relationships with her and work on protecting her from the evils of the fae world.
There's more amazing world building and character development in this installment of the Bound to the Fae series. The inter-character relationships are wonderful, as is Talia's growth and development into a more independent person. However, the action is lacking, which is the only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star review. While most of the book is about threats to the pack and to Talia, very little actually happens, and the action that does occur is over in just a few pages. Still, the character interactions alone make this a fabulous book.
Talia is getting more comfortable and settled in this one. It's nice to see her not so skittish. It's still building slowly between her and the guys, and she's sharing more of her secrets. Talia has such a giving soul. I'd be trying to burn everything to the ground and committing myself to becoming a vengeful spirit, and she's trying to help and being all mature about it in Sylas' pack and trying to contribute. I don't think I would survive as long as she had (see vengeful spirit notes), let alone come out as a decent person. She's strong in her silence and wilful when needed. It's great to see her grow.
Talia learns to trust her new captors (Sylas and his cadre) and gets to explore her new sexuality. What fun! Sylas is still trying to figure out why Talia's blood is so special, but he gets distracted with other challenges to his pack - like Aerik's pack sniffing around after Talia, and problems at the front.
We get a little more of the picture about what is happening in the realm, especially about how Sylas is going about trying to improve his pack's standing within the realm; however, it leads to more questions of course! I still don't know the actual act that plummeted them to near obscurity, nor do I understand why the Summer and Winter Fae are at war. Basically, this book was about Talia gathering her men to her and having fun with them - not that I am complaining!! That is what happens in an RH series after all. I just hope/expect that we will learn more in the next installment in the series.
i’m not sure if it was me or the book or the timing i read it, but i was bored for most of this installment. i also am realizing i don’t really like our main character, but the ending did really intrigue me as to what will happen next!
I found I lost interest too quickly the only good parts were spicy scene and they was about 4 of them the rest of book was about a war which I didn’t really understand all that well.
Wow! This is one stunningly addictive world where the men are alphas and seriously rocking those protective vibes and it's absolutely delicious! I want to run away to the Heart and spend some time there! I guess I'll have to settle for living through Talia and that really isn't such a terrible thing after all.
The way that Eva Chase has written her heroine is utterly perfect! Talia is brave and daring and smart and that makes this adventure all the more merrier. It's taken time for that spunky confidence to bloom and it still needs tending, but it's awesome to behold. She is staking her claim upon her men and finding her place amongst the Fae.
Each of the men are so vastly different and have these complicated thoughts and hearts that it's heartwrenching to watch them struggle. Learning to share has not been easy and yet they find themselves wanting more for their lady. Each member of the cadre has such a vital part to play and together they make it work.
The romance is slow burn and lets the fire build to it's perfect height, but oh my, sometimes I want to yell at them to get to it. And once they do, it's pages of fan waving glee. My poor heart needs a chance to see lots of happiness for each member of this cadre. I can't wait to see just what Ms. Chase has planned for us in the next book. I find that I'm both anxious and excited. Whatever is to come, I know that it'll be captivating!
I have found the rhythm smooth but with a lot of characters and word building.
This series and this book is like you were given a puzzle. During the first book you put the corner that represent the most basic information about the world and the character. Then you do the border, the characters persona, their base relationship, the situation in their world and what it mean for them.
You are pursuing your border during book 2. Each piece of the border is an information, a development between the characters and so on.
Once you have a solid grasp on what is happening to Talia and her men you began to sort the pieces by color to make your puzzle, the bunch are the Raven Unseelie and the conflict they Bring, why are they fighting, what are the Issues and the stakes, another bunch is the mystery around Talia, another is the seelie and all their political schemes, then we have the Murk we were introduced to, we don't know anything about them but I can't wait to see them later on.
I can't wait to put the piece back into place and see the whole picture as I expect more drama to happen and more antagonists to appear and annoy us.
Like I said before the characters are very well developed so much you can easily grasp their features and as it's a Multi Pov of you stop during your chapter and take it back later you will easily figure out whose Pov it was.
I was glad that all the ruckus wasn't centered a 100% on Aerik but on the Unseelie and the Arch-Lord as well.
While Talia's life has gotten exponentially better since her second kidnapping it doesn't mean she's safe. Falling for her kidnappers Talia makes some very adult decisions knowing that they are fae and she is human. Feelings between Sylas, August and Talia are revealed and Whitt finally admits where he stands. Talia also gives them the last of her secrets but while the relationship between them all is developing danger continues to lurk in Talia's vicinity. In this book one threat to Talia, her former captors, is sort of put to rest but in the end she's opened herself up to a much larger threat. As a human who happens to be the cure for their curse the events that unfold at the end of the book had me wondering if her guys are going to be able to protect her but I'm hoping that with all these revelations we also get answers as to why Talia's blood. I also get the feeling that there are secrets that will cause hurt....
All in all I really enjoy Talia and her character development. She's smart and fierce but has a lot of learning and growing to do. Her relationship with her men is also developing well and I like the paths it's taken to get them where they are. Looking forward to the next book.
Not sure if I’m going to continue this series. The first was just ok—and that’s not uncommon for series starters, so I was totally game for Book 2… which was also just ok. Both books just scraped by with a 3-star rating for me, and I’m on the low end of Mildly Curious about what happens next.
On paper, there's nothing wrong really... The FMC some potentially interesting powers and doesn't have an annoying personality; the three MMCs are fairly well differentiated in description and their POVs (the gruff and responsible alpha, the sardonic and distant spymaster, the young and enthusiastic puppy dog) and they're all appropriately protective and adoring; the world-building is interesting; the plot isn't bad; the spice is ok. I can't pinpoint any specific reason why this didn't grab me; but whatever magic makes something a page-turner just wasn't there for me.
Some RH with fae and/or shifter mates that did grab me: Colette Rhodes’s Empath Found trio and Deadly Dragons duet (I gobbled those two series up one after the other—would recommend!) and Willow Hadley’s Of Moons and Monsters series (Book 3 when??).
I might still give Book 3 a chance at some point (I’m mildly curious to see ). But I’m not champing at the bit.
Talia is introduced to the fae pack. A fae woman, Harper, befriends her and is enlisted to help protect her.
We see more of a threat from the pack that held Talia captive with glamours help her to be safe from them being able to know who exactly she is but they stay suspicious and they have to stay on alert just in case.
Trouble brews when the other pack breaks the enchantments and discover just who Talia is despite their efforts. In their laws, she must be returned to them so the pack scrambles to figure out how to prevent that from happening.
I loved to see the relationship between Talia and the pack, more feelings than any of them bargained for. Silas and August were drawn to her pretty immediately but Whit took his time.
The narration was great and let’s you in to feel the emotion of these characters.
This wasnt bad it’s just that NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENED. Like.. why in gods name does this need to be a 9 book series? Nothing has happened at all in the first two books outside of them getting her from the asshole fae, falling for her and talking about some war.
At this point im only finishing book 3 because I bought the first 3 books on audio
The romance, though not insta love, is fast-burn and more of a "telling" sort than "showing". I also skim a lot. On the other hand, the plot is rather engaging so I keep on turning pages. On we go to book 3!
