Kingston

I would fight a thousand forevers just to have one with her.
But that forever might never happen, because light can’t come from her complete darkness, and we were over before we barely began. I’m losing my queen and I can no longer protect her.
Not even from herself.

Lana

My son came to me when I needed him most. Now, protecting him has lead me down a road on which I may lose it all. My past is free and my future feels captured, and everything I thought I could bury is now rising from the ashes beneath a burning flame.
In all of this, I could lose the forever I could almost touch with my Kings, and Prince—my final hope.

Forever Us gave me the happy ever after I longed for but Kingston and Lana had to go through an awful lot to get there. Their struggles were real. Dealing with postpartum depression and the aftermath of being in an abusive relationship was depicted with authenticity, that my heart broke for the helplessness Kingston felt and for Lana who was so deep in her dark whole which resulted in her just lashing out and pushing people away.

I appreciated that Kingston finally took a stand against Lana. It killed and hurt him but he did it for her and their son. For their love.
Lana fought back and proved her strength and regained her voice. She wouldn’t let her past relationship define her.

Kingston and Lana was incredible. Their friendship and them as lovers kept surprising me throughout this story. Their fourteen years of history together really shows how deep their love goes.
I’m so satisfied with their conclusion and now I just need Trey and Shayla’s novella.

Wow! What a book! I love when we have an interconnected series through a group of standalones. We get to catch up with the characters from the previous books. I have no idea why we aren’t seeing this series everywhere! The writing is pure perfection! The characters are incredibly relatable. They made me laugh and cry… as well as swoon! The males in this series are the perfect heartfelt alphas.

Lana and Kingston do not have an easy path in front of them or behind them. It’s a crazy ride. I love how Kingston refers to Lana as his Queen… it’s such a sweet nickname. It really portrays how he treats her. He doesn’t just want to own her; Kingston wants Lana to be his Queen so he treats her right. Lana has a past that won’t stay put and it seems to follow her when she wants to start over.

Let me tell ya, this book will make you feel! It’s such a touching story that will leave you emotional. There are some triggers so if abusive relationships are something that doesn’t work for you… or triggers… be aware of that going in. Kingston and Lana are besties… yet; they fight and love in the extremes! I adored this book and all the previous ones!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

Rollercoaster of emotions

This book made me sad, mad, happy, and irritated all in one! Kingston is my favorite of this series, and I felt so bad for him in the beginning. I tried to not be mad and irritated with Lana because she was really going through it, but I just couldn’t help myself at times! This book was definitely full of twists, turns, and excitement. So sad it’s over but so glad everyone at least got their HEA!

WOW. This was a VERY frustrating and harsh book to say the least. The beginning was very hard. I had tears in my eyes while reading it. It was so hard reading how Kings fell out of love with Lana. Because of her past which was SO dramatic and also because of her postpartum depression it was so hard on her. Kings said that if she didn’t change he would leave her with Prince. Even though he fell out of love he still gave her a chance for her to get better. He even went to therapy with her. I’ve never been to therapy but the scenes where they were there seemed very real. She opened up to Kings and it also saved their relationship. He endet things but for a good reason. He even moved out for two weeks with his sister and her husband. It’s amazing how much he helped her anyway he could: with breathing exercises or at the shooting range where he grabbed her by her neck and she then had a trigger and shot that mannequin. He felt so bad after that but it really helped her a lot.
When they slowly got together again they had lots of (hot) sex but I personally didn’t like that for them because I feared that that was bad for their relationship.
Lana hat LOTS of communication issues. She never said anything when something bothered her but after 14 years of friendship between them Kings knew every time that something was going on and demanded her to tell him.
She got pregnant again and Joel that fucker came back and almost killed get again. But she kind of “left” her body and saw how Prince held a baby girl and two other boys and that actually gave her the strength to fight him of and kill him. (I actually made the prediction that she would kill him and I was right)
The end was so nice I loved it.
Over all the book was very frustrating and so sad and for a such a sad and heartbreaking book it had so much smut in it.

Kingston and Lana’s story continues in Forever Us. And boy what a story it is. You’re going to be thrown into the heart and soul of this explosive couple and you won’t come out the same. I cried a lot of ugly tears and had to walk away more than once to put my heart back in my chest. But with those tears comes the amazing love of Kingston and Lana. There are so many shocking twists and turns that had me a complete wreck making it impossible to put this book down. This book was epic! My favorite line in the book says it all about the love Kingston has for Lana. “I was named Kingston at birth, but my name never earned its meaning until I found Lana – my queen.” To sum it up… This book is angst filled, raw, emotional and beautiful!

This Wasn't A Love Story

This may be ranked in a romance category and it may be about love, but this was not a love story. Not a traditional one, anyways.
Kingston is the chaser in this saga, a man irrefutably devoted to his woman, his heart, his soul. I cried during the first scene. I cried when they bent and fought and inevitably broke apart. I cried when they weathered their storm. And I cried when they beat the monsters, haunting Lana for what felt like forever.
When I read Trey and Shaylas story, I was hooked. When I read Forever The One, I wanted more. And with this installment, I'm satisfied. More than that, I'm thankful.
I can't wait to read what's next, CC. You amaze me more and more, with each word you write.

Lana & Kingston
When you're fighting to keep everything good in your life, but the demons inside are winning the battle & there is a very real monster who is on the outside coming back and you've got to be strong enough to protect everything you love & not let him win. When your King is fighting for you and your Prince-but doesn't understand it all until you finally let him in to your past. When the monster is slain and you have your HEA. Poignant, heartwrenching, realistic, with so many deep emotions, I was mesmerized by this novel. This is my fall MUST READ!! LOVED IT!!!!
I received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing the story. Thank you Ms. Monroe.

DNF: 68%

I hate DNFing a book. I really do, but I couldn’t do it. She literally says at one point something along the lines of “i’m so small and he’s big” the amount of times it’s mentioned how small she is, how tiny, how feminine, her tiny thighs, the list goes on. they’re relationship is back and forth up and down. they’re unbelievably toxic and clearly working on it but it’s so hard to read. they’re whole relationship is sêx. i would say 80% of both of the books are just sëx. they’re literally pregnant with another baby 7 months after they’re son while she’s still not anywhere near mentally stable. it’s so fecking weird.

HEA!

I am so glad Lana finally got the help and peace she needed! She thought of herself as weak… but she’s a survivor thru and thru ! Kingston- a true man’s man! It was so hard to read his guilt and thinking he “ went to far”. I think sometimes in order to see how strong u are you have to feel fear in certain things! That hardcore fear that Lana felt at the gun range gave her the courage and strength she needed to see how truly strong she was! Definitely loved the series and both couples!

Forever Us is the conclusion to Kingston and Lana's story. This book was so amazing! I loved it so much! It was emotional and beautiful. Kingston is my absolute favorite man ever. He's sexy and all alpha and the way he treats Lana is everything! I love him so much! Lana, I love her and my heart broke for her but I was happy when she slayed those demons like a boss!! The King and Queen perfect together and they had some of the best and hottest sex scenes!! I highly recommend this series!!

Gripping love story

A beautiful, gripping story of fighting for your soulmate, a best friend becoming your lover and reason to fight your inner demons from the past. A king found his queen, and does what he can to keep her, but outside forces try to tear them apart! It's bad when you have to fight them for the love of your life, it's worse when you have to fight memories and insecurities. A must read!

I need everyone to understand the book hangover I am still suffering from…. It has been a week…….

To say this book was everything to me would be an understatement.
CC Monroe never ever disappoints me but I can honestly say I wasn’t ever expecting to love a book as much as I loved Divergent and After. But now I do.

The way she was able to TRULY capture mental health in both the female lead AND male was unmatched. I haven’t read representation like that. Usually one characters struggles are forgotten about or just don’t exist to make room for all of the other MC’s feelings/struggles.

With Lana and Kingston you really get to see them grow as a couple in this book.
You get to feel everything they are feeling and you get to watch as something so beautiful and strong roots itself in these pages and your heart.

This half of the series was truly everything. Lana and Kingston didn’t have it easy, but they fought like hell to love each other and find that light in the darkest of tunnels.

I will recommend this book for the rest of my life.

CC Monroe you have my heart and my wallet <3

At first I had a hard time with these two books. I had a hard time liking the characters. It was back and forth, because they both seemed toxic and the FMC seemed really selfish (even with her traumatic past). But the more I read, the more I loved them. I realized it was meant to be a raw, dirty look at dealing with trauma from both character’s perspectives! Also, the spice was 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼. I got so invested in the plot that I almost forgot about the spice. Yep, that happened. 😳

Great conclusion.

This was the conclusion to Kingston and Lana's story. I absolutely LOVED it. It was nice seeing Lana step up and fight for their love. I also loved Kingston, he's so sweet yet definitely an alpha male.
I love anything CC Monroe writes and she is a wonderful author, I recommend her books to everyone.

CC did it ya'll! She broke my heart in two with Lana and Kings relationship. I bawled like a baby with this book. From all the good to the really horrible and finally the HEA. She has done what all of my favorite authors do, break my heart and then heal it with the happy all encompassing love between two characters that you root for the entire time even through the heart ache!!!

Wow just wow. Yes lots of this duet of King and Lana was spent fighting. Fighting each other, fighting together, fighting the past, fighting for a future. Point blank they fought and they never gave up. Lana is a warrior, she's a Queen, she's a survivor, she's a conquerer, she's determined to prevail and she does with her KING by her side....

A Queen saves herself sometimes

What a finish to this duet! I am in love with sweet Kingston and precious Lana. I am obsessed with how Lana saved herself in the end. I love that this wasn’t a story about how the king saved the Queen, but the king showed the Queen she was strong enough to save herself. It was amazing! I felt what they felt and loved what they loved! Bravo!!!!!

The culmination of Kingston and Lana was filled with palpable emotion.

They've come so far only to drown in uncertainty...in darkness...in doubt. It is a perilous journey and I found myself on the cusp of falling with them as they fought individually and together to hold onto the love they felt for one another. Kingston learns more about Lana's past as they fight to keep the past in the past but what do they do when the past keeps seeping into their present. They have to fight for their present and their future.

My favorite lines from their story:

"But not just the physical owns her. I'm penetrating her mind, stroking her heart with my desire for her, and licking her soul in lust." ~Kingston

"Give me back my power, Kingston." ~Lana

All the feels! ❤❤❤❤❤

I love that there is so much depth to the H/h of each book in this series. I knew this book would make me cry but I am smiling thru my tears. What a beautiful journey and HEA for both couples in this series. I can't wait to see if/when we get stories about all the little Donovan kids. I highly recommend this series!
