Christ is my redeemer, the drive behind my moral compass, he leads me down every road—the righteous road. My heart full of love, my body pure and untouched, my words clean, my body modest. I do all things because I believe in my Christian faith and I believe that my life has been planned out for me. I will meet the perfect man of God, one who will give me a family and a wholesome life. There is no room for anything less, no room for speed bumps or road blocks. Except for the one man who threw a wrench in my spinning tire. The one man who made me question my faith and what true faith really is. Ben Cooper—my very own sinner.
Ben
Each blow to the face feels glorious, I crave the pain of each punch from my back alley opponent. The high I get from each fight that I antagonize is the same high I get when I strum my guitar and hit the high notes in the microphone. That rush is just like the pain I feel with the blows I take. Violence is my decadence and music is my redemption. I love beautiful women, the taste of whiskey on my tongue, and the smell of tobacco on my breath. I’m a man with no morals and no plan to my madness. I’m a man with only the promise of the day I'm in. Until I find the most beautiful melody, dressed in full clothes and a cross around her neck. Sadie McCallister—my very own saint.
Author CC Monroe was born in the sunshine state of California. Now residing in Utah with her real life book husband and beautiful sons; she spends her days working and her nights locked away writing the stories her readers can’t get enough of!
Writing angst filled, plot driven, insanely sexy stories just the way we like it. CC has mad one liners, can be witty on the spot and curses like a sailor. Her best friend is coffee with a side of sarcasm.
I loved this book so much!!! This is such an emotional and beautiful story, I literally cried my eyes out at the end and in the best way possible. Ben and Sadies story really touched my heart and I really felt like these two characters were soulmates and were made to find one another and that is just such a fun feeling to have about a romance book. Thats why I'm giving it 5 stars.
SPOILERS
Ben was chefs kiss and I really felt for his trauma and the pain that he was battling with throughout the story. It broke my heart that Sadie was ready to walk away from him so soon and I wish we had saw more of a fight for him on her side before she went full blown its over. Eventually she did make the ultimate sacrifice for him though when she gave up her career to help save his life so it's forgiven. However, I still didn't like how she kept threatening to divorce him though but I think thats just a product of being young and married so I found that realistic. I just wish we saw more behavior from Ben that would have warranted her getting fed up like that. The issue with the drugs was something she knew beforehand and the OW although disrespectful was a singular event and should have been discussed, forgiven and then moved on from. But at times it just felt like Sadie wanted Ben to be perfect over night and that just didn't fit right with me. It felt like she was using him for the bad boy thrill of it all but didn't want the actual hard stuff that came with it. Again, so happy that she was able to stand by him in the end and forgive him for everything.
I loved that Sadies parents supported them and their young love. I think we all expected them to judge Ben and his addiction but the way they were portrayed as accepting and loving Christins was a nice twist that made me really the book even more. Same for Sadie, I loved how in the beginning she was very headstrong about her love for Ben and not judgmental about his lifestyle despite her beliefs. That of course changes but I did enjoy it alot while it lasted.
Overall, I'm very obsessed with this book and can't wait to read it again. Would 100% recommend 💜
It may officially be time to pull the plug on reading books recommended by BookTok. As much as I hate to say this, because there is a book for every reader and a reader for every book, this was not a good book. Without even getting into the quality of the writing, typos and all, what kept me reading was watching it all unfold with nightmarish predictability and a desperate hope that a turn was coming. No such luck. In short, this really only serves as a cautionary tale for how purity culture makes you marry the first guy you want to shag then you are stuck with him and his nonsense because…Jesus? (The Dollop episode on Purity Balls feels very relevant here.) My dislike seems to be a minority opinion however, so peruse the other reviews for what might appeal and if you chose to read, and I mean this genuinely: enjoy! It just wasn't for me.
This was a fast paced love. The story was emotional, it wasn't all rainbows being with a rockstar. There was ups and downs, i loved that from the beginning of their relationship Sadie chooses him and doesn't give up. Through out the story we go through what is was like for her to love Ben Cooper. Ben the rockstar with intermittent explosive disorder, Ben the addict, Ben the husband, and the Ben that swepted her off her feet. It's also spicy between them, like not being able to keep their hands to themselves. They were electric.
I loved this. To be honest I enjoyed the entire book from start to finish.
Ben: It was so interesting to read a book with a Hero who was addicted to not only drugs and alcohol but anger. Yes he had an actual anger disorder, but he also seemed to be constantly looking for a fight to numb his pain. His mind set and love for Sadie were just as equally fascinating to me. I loved his love for Sadie and I really liked the moments we got to see inside his head. The struggle within him seemed so real.
Sadie: Now Sadie is one of the strongest protagonists I have ever read. She loved Ben through everything, and put him first. I know a few people have claimed that as weakness but all I see is strength. It is a lot easier to leave when things get tough or don't go you way. But Sadie stayed through it all, that to me is a lesson in strength, forgiveness, and selflessness.
The plot was very fun, to see a rockstar and a saint get together in the first place was interesting. Then to watch him preform and even just being on a tour bus, I loved it. The pacing is also done very well. We do follow a few month time line, so I liked how the author made sure we weren't missing out on anything.
CC Monroe always shows the real and raw side to people. We are not perfect. Love is not perfect. And she gives a voice to us, who had to fight for our happy ever afters.
SPICE: 1-10........ I give this a 25! Very sexy. SO if you aren't into books with a lot of sex then DON'T READ THIS.
5/5 CC Monroe is an amazing writer and storyteller. I can't get enough!!
I loved Sadie… she’s a hard-working sweet girl. Her determination is seriously inspiring! She’s deeply rooted in her religion and has certain hopes and dreams. Ben, ha, Ben is NOTHING she is looking for. Ben is NOTHING she should want. But, isn’t that how it goes? She can’t stop looking… she can’t stop wanting! He’s so rough and blunt… pretty much crude. Sadie is the EXACT opposite of Ben. She’s innocent, virginal, and he is very promiscuous. Kate was a great comedic respite that was much needed and also the best friend that every girl deserves!
I was so impressed with where CC Monroe took this book. I LOVED Ben and Sadie together. How, eventually, they were able to laugh together and, again, eventually, they brought out the good in each other… especially Ben. I really felt like this was an intensely unique story… Monroe tells this beautiful story and really balances a great push and pull between the characters. This is a story so very much filled with angst, sacrifice, lust and love, stormy times and good times, faith and questioning faith. This has got to be CC Monroe’s best work yet!
I received an ARC of this series with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
I loved this book!! I immediately fell in love with Sadie. She is this sweet innocent girl with a heart of gold but stronger than most people could ever be!! Ben, oh my, I both loved and hated him. Two completly opposite people that complete each other in a way no one else could. I always have to prepare myself to read CC Monroe's books because they always take me on an emotional journey!! This one was definitely no different, I loved every minute of this unique love story! I found myself swooning, angry, and laughing but even through everything I felt the love and enjoyed the push and pull between them. I was pulled in from the beginning and didn't put it down until I finished. I highly recommend reading this beautiful story!!
I’d like to thank CC Monroe for sending me a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review. I have never heard of this author before we made contact in a group we are both part of. The blurb and the fact this was her heart book discovering that just made me more eager to read it.
Sadie is a 19-year-old, I loved Sadie she was such a sweet innocent character but she was also very sassy and she had so much determination in her. I loved the fact we see her working so hard. She is also very deeply religious, she wants the fairytale ending for herself after seeing it with her parents. Although that is not what she gets.
Ben is a 22-year-old rockstar for a lead band named Roes. He grew up having a horrible childhood but adored his mother. He was dealt the crappiest hand known to mankind and harbours certain feelings from his past that makes him cope in very bad ways. Not one for love, he is known as the man-whore who screws almost anyone, does hardcore drugs and loves to fight to deal with his pain. Ben’s bandmates are his closest friends, and most of them try to lead him down the right path.
They first meet as Kate, Sadie’s Best friend, dragging her to a concert and Ben lays eyes on Sadie and invites them both backstage thinking Sadie is like the other woman he propositions her bluntly for sex. When she turns him down his bandmate finally tells him that she is very religious and it wasn’t an act. His reaction was one of my favourite things in this book. He then goes to her house and apologises and they begin to get to know each other. Ben also has a drug and drink problem and he has an IED diagnosis.
Sadie and Ben fall for each other very fast and within 3 weeks are married, although Ben has his demons and he struggles constantly. I do have to say I struggled after I finished this book. In this book, so many things happen that I have slated for in YA and NA and I was talking it over with my friend after I finished. She made the point the difference is in this book it isn’t made to seem like it’s acceptable. C.C. Monroe is a very good writer and it shows because she doesn’t reinforce the negative behaviour she condones it throughout this novel (if only more author did that).
Ben does and says some pretty shitty things to Sadie, he mocked her faith a few times through this book when he was drunk. He got very jealous and nearly attacked someone, he did get into a few fights, he had a very negative mindset and he didn’t believe he deserved to be loved. Sadie stays by his side even when Nick (Ben’s father figure and manager) tells her to leave. Although she doesn’t stand for it, she tries to make him get help. He never hits her but he says shitty things. It just makes him a wanker. Sadie finally had enough and went home when she caught Ben doing coke off a groupie and goes home. They manage to sort it out with Ben promising that he’ll get help and they go back on the road together. Ben goes through therapy and goes cold turkey on drugs and drink, and he keeps trying.Sadie finally has enough when he walks out on her when she tells him she is pregnant. Sadie keeping her promise stays by his side until the tour ends and having a divorce.
Nick finally manages to knock sense into Ben and he begins to carry on sorting himself out for her and the baby. We see in his pov where he gets driven around endlessly just so he doesn’t go to a bar to do drugs or drink, and see him going into meetings and tries to sort himself out and once he has he wants to make her fall in love with him all over again.
I do have to say although he manages to change, so many times I would have walked out when he did the shitty things to Sadie. She put up with so much shit and all because she loved him and her faith managed to keep her with him. The one thing I didn’t agree with when it came to Sadie was her giving up her internship (I can’t remember what it was called) to help him with recovery. I understand why she did it but I didn’t agree with her basically giving up her dream to help him deal with his demons and issues.
Ben and Sadie had lovely chemistry and when they were together it was so sweet, and the way he cared for her I loved. But also how she cared for him and looked after him. I fell in love with their relationship fast and although some dicey moments I was rooting for them all the way through. The sex was written very well in this book.
Kate, I loved Kate she was Sadie’s best friend and she was there when Sadie needed her and I loved that. I also loved that they could both have a joke about each other especially as Kate creates nicknames for her to do with her religion and Sadie takes it on the chin. They are both so different from each other and still manage to be there for each other. I love it!
Nick was Ben’s manager I think the correct word would be but he was also kind of a father figure to him too. He tried to keep him on the straight and narrow and whenever Sadie needed him he was there and they became really close and he was one of my favourite side characters ever. Especially how he just kind of adopts them and takes them under his wing.
Mike ugh I hated this idiot, he was Sadie’s sort of boyfriend at the start of the novel and he is the reason I really dislike religious people, the kind who aren’t meant to judge and then sit there judging you anyway. The stuff he says to Sadie when she tells him about her and Ben is so rude and disrespectful and honestly, he’s just an asshole and I didn’t like him.
I fell in love with this book and it’s story and it’s writing, C.C. Monroe definitely knows how to write a book that pulls at your heartstrings. When I finished this book so many emotions flooded me I loved this book and I felt conflicted about it too, but then I loved it again. I will definitely be reading more of this authors work because this book and the writing has me hooked! I really enjoyed this read, the story, the characters and everything.
This was “instalove” on steroids. Not kidding, I blinked at 8% and MMC had the FMC on lockdown already. Unfortunately I needed a bit more time to invest in these two so that when the angst hit, I’d have an appropriate reaction. I love a good rock star trope, the sex, drugs and rock and roll were all a part of Ben Coopers life, but he also had a darkness to his past. Our FMC came off a bit too naive and her purity was thrown out the window just as quickly as the love at first sight. Next book is Nick and I’m invested enough in the supporting cast to care where they end up, so it’s a definite read going forward.
NetGalley allowed me a copy in return for my thought
Sadie is going to school to become and LPN. She is a woman of faith and her whole life revolves around the church. Ben is a rockstar who has lost his faith is God due to terrible circumstances. His life is consumed with drinking, drugs and women. Sadie and Ben meet at one of his converts. She was in the front row. He couldn't take his eyes off her the whole night. When Sadie came back stage of course Ben messed up and pushed her away. He didn't understand what it was about her but for some reason he needed her more than the air you breathe. When he finally reaches her heart will be able to keep it or make her run?
I had no idea how religious she is. It's a little over the top but I didn't completely hate it. I will never understand why most rockstars are into drinking, drugs and different women. The concert where they first met was hysterical. When he goes to her house was interesting. The ice cream scene was cute. The songs he writes are beautiful. I was very happy when she didn't push her faith onto him when he isn't in the right state of mind to believe. Nick, JJ, Eric, Jason tried to be good friends for him. Kate is the best friend everyone needs. The ending before the epilogue was just what I needed. The epilogue was sweet and the words he repeats for her is the most intense words he has ever said. This wasn't what I expected at all but it wasn't bad.
If i had never read another book from this author and just picked up this one i would be completely hooked. I have been waiting to read this book since it was announced by the author and it definitely did not disappoint The book is filled with so much, love, drama, heartache, and redemption. To say i loved it would be an understatement. It was well written, well thought out and excellently executed. The author deals with issues that pertain to real life which makes you feel so much more for the characters themselves. I could feel myself getting lost in this book. I couldn't put it down and finished it in one sitting. I couldnt have asked more from the author and I will be recommending this book and any other by this author to as many people as I can.
Honestly, I did not like this book. The way it was written seemed like a 13 year old wrote it. The story line definitely has potential but the writing/smut was not good.
My Review: Loving Ben Cooper by C.C. Monroe is book #1 in The Loving series. Originally released in 2017, it has a scheduled Wattpad WEBTOON release of March 2025.
About the Book: "When a good girl meets a rockstar bad boy, sparks fly."
In My Own Words: A self-proclaimed sinner meets a "good girl" whom he declares to be his personal saint.
About the Characters: Ben Cooper and Sadie Jay are flawed but endearing.
Ben - > His innocence was taken.
When Ben fixes his gaze on Sadie, he sees forever in a moment. Despite his personal demons, bad choices, turbulent times, toxic habits, and dark days, he sees her as his light. He finds his home in her. Will he allow the ghosts from his past to dictate the course of his present and future and lose the one good thing he's found?
Sadie - > Her innocence was given.
Sadie always does the right thing. She has a plan for her life. She is a good daughter. She is a good friend. She is forgiving of naysayers. She works hard. She stands firm in her purity plan. When she meets Ben, everything she thought she wanted changes, and the trajectory for her life shifts. Will her overwhelming feelings for him keep her from focusing on her goals and prevent her from staying true to herself?
About the Supporting Cast: The character considerations in this novel were people who were imperfect but real. Misfits, helicopters, enablers, mentors, friends, found family - they were all in there. People who were broken, well meaning, judgmental, supportive, and loving were practically written on every page. They helped to move the story forward.
About the Conflict: There were deep scars, multifaceted layers, and harsh textures in this story. Triggers were throughout. The book presented a complex mix of emotions, dilemmas, and struggles. There seemed to be a focused intent on communicating the message of light versus dark, good versus evil, sinner versus saint. Even in that, the interplay between the "good person" with not so "good" actions and the "bad person" with some "good" parts became evident as the love story unraveled and got clearer.
My Takeaway: Love is hard and it requires more from us. It often calls for us to do hard things. It calls for us to speak truth and to face untruths. It requires sacrifice, courage, strength, faith, and hope. It also calls for us to move beyond our greatest fears, as well as ourselves.
My Favorite Quote: "From the day I met him, this story was never mine. It was always his."
(When I read that line from the prologue, I knew that this story had me.)
My Final Say: I genuinely liked this story. This messy and complicated read brought tears to my eyes, in fact. It was a lot to take in. It was a NA that had emotional depth, mental anguish, physical pain, behavioral shifts and more. It was a rollercoaster of romantic expressions and tumultuous regrets. It was about a new and frantic love between two young people who fell truly, madly, deeply. It was about two individuals who were both immature and mature at the same time. It was a story that made a sobering claim.
In the end, what can be said about Ben and Sadie is that they were becoming who they were meant to be and finding their identity.
Other: Readers who enjoy reading NA rocker romances that are not tidy and neat, that are not easy but hard, and that call for grace and growth will love this one.
Rating: 4/5 Recommend: Yes Audience: NA to A Re-read: Yes Status/Level: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Special Note: This story will come alive as an audiobook. I highly recommend that it be considered for that format.
Sincere and heartfelt appreciation is extended to the author, to the publisher (Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group | Frayed Pages x Wattpad Books), and to NetGalley. Thank you for granting access to a digital ARC of this title in exchange for an honest critique. The words I have shared are my own. Please know that I am grateful for the opportunity to review this work. I look forward to further acquaintance with this writer's material.
This story follows Sadie, a faithful woman, and Ben, a popstar, fall in love at first sight but they have issues they need to solve. I wish I could enjoy this book like others but at the end of the read, I was just like what in the world did a read. The story starts off great but then it gets so bland. I loved the healing process and becoming mentally strong but this book represents more of a man taking over a woman’s life. For 300 pages, it was just Ben or Sadie walking away from their relationship. Which wouldn’t be so bad but the writing was like tipping around without fully going into it. This book follows both Ben and Sadie’s pov.
Sadie has been following her faith and doesn’t want to give herself to a man. I love how caring of a person she is, but she should have seen the red flags. Also this girl did not wait long to give up her virginity. Then we have Ben whose charming and head over heels for Sadie. But he has a dark past where he needed to go to therapy for a long time ago. Both characters do develop but they needed to be seperated for that. The romance is instant love and second chances with spicy scenes. The romance was cute in the beginning but then it wasn’t so cute towards the end. Instead of talking through problems, they would just make out.
The ending was whatever and I was done with the book. As much as I was enjoying it in the beginning, it just started to go downhill. I think this book would have been better as a slowburn to showcase the innocence of Sadie and the growth of Ben. I did enjoy the spot they got to but I think it would have been better differently.
*this book was sent to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return*
Wow, CC. The chokehold this book had on me. “The selfless loves the selfish.” If you’ve ever loved an addict you know how true this is. There’s so many lessons to be learned from this book. But the most important was “that love isn’t the answer, it’s just the beginning.”
Humanize the addict. Empathize with young women in love. We’ve all been there.
But I promise there’s fun parts; the spicy scenes were so good! Sadie, I gettt it girl. And, major but daddy I loveeee him vibes.
Overall it’s 4.5 stars for me. The only thing missing was his redemption arc with her family.
Thank you to CC & the frayed pages team for sending me a copy. 🤍
This was heart breaking and beautiful all at once. Sadie & Ben have that once in a lifetime kind of love. It’s intense, fast and all consuming. Ben has a rough past and a rock star lifestyle, Sadie is sweet and people pleasing to her core. Somehow they were drawn to one another and just fit, Was it perfect? No, it was even toxic at times. No matter what they always chose to love one another. Their story is raw and real and pulled at all of my heart strings. You get to feel the good with the bad and everything in between. The emotions and fight, the love you feel it through every word CC writes in their story. This will be one that sticks with me, forever.
At times I hated Ben not gonna lie he is an emotional mess to say the least … I LOVED Sadie and my heart broke for her over and over again.. she has the strength of a giant and the patience of a saint.. the loyalty she has and love she so generously gives is astounding … the ending flipped my view on Ben he was so broken in the beginning and had so many demons to overcome but he conquered each and everyone of them .. he grew so much within these pages
*thank you to NetGalley for gifting this ARC to me*
This was such a quick, heart wrenching but also beautiful read. Bad-boy rockstar falls for the good girl and when I say fall, I mean tumbles and breaks his neck in love with her. I was rooting for them the whole time and teared up towards the end thinking the worst. CC, this book was beautiful and I loved every second of it!
I finished it, but wasn't that impressed. I really don't need to read IN DETAIL sexual intimacy. This was porn. Is this really what younger people are reading?
First, you may be wondering why I used pictures of Brendan Urie from Panic! At the Disco for my graphics. Easy: It's Brendan Urie. Also, CC has said Brendan was her inspiration for Ben Cooper, and This is Gospel is used in the book, so why not use the ultra expressive Brendan for my pics? (Also, I'm still going through my middle school/emo phase and love all things P!ATD).
Rock star books are so hard for me, mostly because of the drug use that usually comes with them. Drugs make me uber uncomfortable, both in real life, and when I'm reading about them. Even weed. But I love the broken sinner Ben Cooper. He is struggling, even though he thinks he's doing just fine. Even though he's not looking for anything serious, Sadie McCallister crashes into his life with her faith, trying to accept Ben for who he is, even though Ben can't accept himself. Sadie is the total and complete opposite of Ben. The saint to his sinner. She goes to church and Bible study, is saving herself for marriage, and believes God will guide her through all things. In two short days she meets Ben and falls in love with him. She tries to accept his life, his drugs, his belief that there is no God, and tries to make the relationship work. She tries to help him in all things, without losing herself in the process.
One of my favorite things about Sadie is that she gives up a lot to be with Ben when he needs her. She tries to be everything he needs to help him with recovery. But when push comes to shove, she refuses to back down from her beliefs. She tries to learn as much about him and why he feels he needs the drugs as she can. But when Ben messes up, which he inevitably does, one too many times, she keeps her promise to him, but realizes shes too close to losing herself, and straightens her spine. Ben knows his words aren't working anymore. He knows he needs to get better, but he also knows he's put too much in the hands of Sadie, and not enough on himself.
Another one of my favorite things is that the common theme in the book is that Ben cannot change unless he wants to change for himself. Neither Sadie nor Ben want to change the other. Sadie wants to help Ben, but he needs to want it. When it's clear Ben doesn't want it as much as Sadie believed, she's done. Ben starts to want to heal for himself. I love the positive view of the use of therapy, group therapy, and meditation, instead of the "I'm not sick, I don't need it" attitude. There are so many things about Loving Ben Cooper that made me fall in love with both the saint and the sinner, but you'll just have to get the book for yourself to fall in love with them.
So.... Where in the world do I start? Good gosh this book surprised the heck out of me. This is the first book I have read by CC Monroe, and I can NOT wait to read more from her. I can honestly say I have never related to a book so much in my life. It was so realistic, and deals with real life situations, and real life emotions, and is just so raw and gritty. It quite honestly shook me up. This book has left me in HUGE book hangover.
Sadie is a 19 year old Christian who feels like it is her mission to help people in some form or another, which is why she is one month away from graduating to be an LPN. Sadie is a Christ loving woman, who lives for God and her family. Her parents have the fairy tale ending, and are hopelessly still in love. That's what she wants from a husband when the time comes. She made a promise to herself, to only give her husband the greatest piece of herself besides her heart. She has a crazy best friend named Kate who is nothing like her, but whom she still adores. She is kind, sweet, and has a very forgiving heart, but when she loves, she loves hard.
Ben is a 22 year old lead singer of a rock band named Roes. He grew up having a horrible childhood, but adored his mother. He was dealt the crappiest hand known to man kind, and harbors certain feelings from his past that makes him cope in very bad ways. Not one for love, he is known as the man whore who screws almost any one, does hardcore drugs and loves to fight to deal with his pain. Ben's bandmates are his closest friends, and most of them try to lead him down the right path.
On a night that Sadie should be studying, Kate drags her to a concert, for a night out. It just so happens that the Roes, is the band playing. All it takes is for Ben to spot the blonde hair beauty for him to feel things he has never felt And when Ben sees something he wants, he does not stop until her gets it. But things get hazy because while Sadie believes in God Ben doesn't believe in any religion, because his religion once failed him. Throw in the differences in each of their lives and things get difficult. Can Sadie convince Ben to have faith or will the drugs and alcohol win him over for good?
I recommend this book to people who believe in true love, and to people with addiction problems because with God by your side you can beat anything.
Why in the world did I hold out on reading Ben and Sadie’s story? I have read every other book that Sierra has written and loved them even when she was ripping my heart out.
I’ve been seeing the teasers for Loving Kate Beckett and decided to dive in and read about Sadie and Ben. I can’t believe how much I loved them!
Sadie is a unicorn for me. She’s steadfast in her faith and has never deviated from it. She is insisting on waiting to until her marriage to give away her virginity. Like I said. A unicorn! She relies on her faith and scripture in situations that she doesn’t know how to handle. She prays and she means it when she prays. Her prayers for Ben are for hope and faith. She wants him to be happy and she knows that drugs and alcohol won’t get him there. Quite the opposite.
Ben is mesmerized from the first time he sees Sadie. It’s a whirlwind romance for them both but very much so for him. He’s all about living the rock n roll life of drugs, booze and women. All in excess. Within 3 days he is in love and showing Sadie a side to himself that no one has seen besides his mother. She has enraptured.
As their love blossoms so does Ben’s demons. Hurt is a very mild word for what Ben projects upon Sadie, his angel mine. I don’t know if I would have stood beside Ben as Sadie did. Her will power is much stronger than mine. It’s the moments when Ben is back to himself and showing her his full love that make me believe redemption is possible.
I adore this book and would love to see so much more of Sadie and Ben. There are some typos in this book but they are completely forgotten because the story is that good.
Wow, just wow!! 😲 This story was intense! I can’t even explain all the emotions this book put me through! I absolutely freaking love Sadie and kinda wanna be her! Lol She was such a sweetheart but so so strong and sassy! Her passion and devotion to her faith was astounding and I loved the way she didn’t push her beliefs on anyone and was so open minded. She was just a beautiful soul! Ben, Ben, Ben, what can I say about this rebellious, cocky, tormented, damaged and sweet man? A lot!! The things he went through growing up and the weight he carried on his shoulders was just so breathtakingly heartbreaking! His struggle to deal with his anger and grief over his parents was so emotional and hard to see. The fact that he was able to become so loving when he met Sadie and tried so hard to do right by her was a testament to how much of a kind, loving person he really was deep down! Their love story was fast and raw, dark and gritty, dirty and fun, intense and draining, harsh and forgiving, yet real and true. It really showed how terrifying and difficult things can be and how hard you really have to fight for someone you love. It’s not always roses and sunshine and shit gets real unfortunately. Their bond underneath it all was unbreakable. This truly was an amazing story with an angsty push and pull and I loved it so much! Phenomenal first read by this author and I will definitely be reading more from her!
When the Saint and the Sinner cross paths, neither is searching for love—but the instant, undeniable pull between them changes everything. Loving Ben Cooper delivers a compelling story of opposites attracting in the most unexpected and electric way.
Sadie is the Saint—an idealistic, principled young woman waiting until marriage to give herself fully to her future husband. I stumbled upon CC Monroe's books when she only had one release. I thought the cover was gorgeous and it was on sale, so I one clicked. Now, she has four books out and I've read all, but one. Let me tell you how fantastically beautiful it is to see a talented author develop in their work! Loving Ben Cooper is, in my opinion, CC's best work yet and I cannot wait to see what else she brings us!
This book killed me in the best way ever! Some people don't believe in instalove, but I totally do. I also know that it's just like every other thing in life, you have to work to keep it. CC Monroe takes through a story that shows us the ups and downs of not only love, but life. Many times we look at people and think their life is perfect, but you never really know what demons they have battling them. I love how CC shows us a glimpse of internal struggles and trying to overcome the scars of our past for a better future.
Loving Ben Cooper is more than just another romance novel, it's a story of hope, faith, and battling the things in life that are determined to beat us to the ground. There's not even enough stars for me to give this book!
I absolutely loved Loving Ben Cooper. This is a standalone romance that you won't be able to put down.
Ben is the lead singer of the rock band the Roes. He is a womanizing drug user who was used to getting whatever girl he wanted. This all changed when he laid his eyes on the Christian beauty Sadie. She left him mesmerized and wanting things he never thought he could have. She shot him down, but he couldn't get her off his mind.
Sadie is an absolute sweetheart. She is a devout Christian from a loving family. When her best friend talked her into going to the Roe's concert she found herself thinking and feeling things she's never felt before. After meeting Ben Cooper her heart and head were in for the battle of her life.
Ben and Sadie couldn't be more opposite, but made for each other in so many ways. Their whirlwind relationship will take you on an emotional roller coaster. The struggles with Ben's drug addictions, anger and dealing with his past are beautifully done. You've got to read this book to see if the love Ben and Sadie have for each other is strong enough to heal the broken.
I have never read any books by C.C. Monroe, and she is now one of my favorites. Loving Ben Cooper was everything that I was looking for in a book. Sadie is the good girl, while Ben Cooper is the bad boy rockstar. She is a 19 year old nursing student, who is very religious. Ben does everything that rockstars are known for, drugs and sex. Sadie's best friend drags her to a concert, and her life is never the same again. Ben and Sadie fall in love fast, and get married even faster. I'm a full supporter for young marriage, so I was rooting for their love and marriage to make it. They have a very rough start to marriage, because Ben has major issues that he is self medicating to deal with. Sadie is doing everything in her power to help the love of her life, her husband. I couldn't put this book down, and I will be reading everything by C.C. Monroe that I can get my hands on. I have been looking for a book that deals with young love and marriage, and I didn't realize that this book did before I started reading. It was a great surprise.
This was a powerful story, this author's writing is off the chart. I have lived every story she has written so far. Sadie has everything going for her, she has her life mapped out. She has the love 💘 and support of her family and friends but most of all she has her faith. Ben is the lead singer in a up and coming rock band, he is on cloud nine but he also has demons he is dealing with. He is use to a quick hook up and nothing wrong mixing some drinking and drugs to help deal with his problems. He never expected his life to change meeting Sadie at one of his concerts. Their journey is long and hard but can Sadie be his Saving Grace. Can Sadie Faith help her help Ben fight his demons or will it be all to much and destroy the love 💘 they have. Will the both have the strength to get though it all.
I am brand new to the works of CC Monroe and Loving Ben Cooper was my first book from this author. I first heard of CC thru Aurora Rose Reynolds Until Kindle World.
Loving Ben Cooper was not at all what I expected. Reading about two young lovers was both annoying and amazing. Everytime these characters would frustrate me I had to remind myself the H was 22 and the h was 19. They both had immature moments and I didn't know if their love was enough to conquer their obstacles.
CC had such a way with words to make me root for Sadie and Ben to have an HEA. Sadie's character was so strong and if CC hadn't written her that way I would have lost my mind with this book.
Loving Ben Cooper was a great read about young love, a sweet 19 year old trying to keep her faith and a sexy young rock star who just needed to be loved.
