They were high school and even college sweethearts. Then their relationship imploded from the pressure and expectations they swore that they wouldn’t conform to. Reign Champion was the quintessential rebellious preacher’s kid. Always pushing the envelope...but not just for the sake of pushing it. She pushed in the name of love. For seven years, the love of Xavier Mayhew buoyed her, anchored her, and fed her. Then suddenly, it was taken away - leaving Reign adrift in her sorrow and wondering if she would ever feel like the Reign she was before the storm. Xavier Mayhew was a mess. Rejection was a very present emotion in his life. At almost every turn he was reminded of how many people had walked out on him. But never Reign. Reign’s love was the source of his happiness, his solace, his peace. So, why did he walk away from her? Why did he leave her to drown in her own tears? It’s taken three years, but life has a way of coming full circle. Xavier’s back to claim his girl, and he has no intentions of taking no for an answer.
Fire 🔥🔥🔥. I loved it. Reign and Xavier were meant to be, it was the adults in their lives that tried to keep them apart.
I can understand wanting teens and even young adults to be cautious with Love, yet once you see it's real, the way Reign and Xaviers' was, I was lost as to why the seasoned adults didn't encourage them to continue to strengthen their bond; especially with Xavier going to the NFL. All these "adults" had no wisdom, YIKES 😬.
I did love how even though they were both hurting, that they still loved each other. Their closest Loved ones who knew the deal, encouraged them to reconcile. Joya is the older cousin you Love to be around and need. Busy and Brain, Xaviers' older brothers, were cool too.
I wasn't quite sure what was up with Xaviers' ex fling, Meeyah yet it felt like she was seriously on some stalker type stuff. I think Reign hit the nail on the head that Meeyah wanted Xavier only AFTER she thought he caught feelings for Reign AFTER they stopped messing around; she wasn't aware that they already had years of history. She was a creep and I'm glad Xavier set her straight and that Reign wasn't bothered by her antics. Chicks be real desperate 🤦🏾♀️.
This was another good read in this series. I love that we continue to get updates on old characters and introduced to new 'Watson' girls/cousins and their mates.
I absolutely adored Reign and Xavier. He was so fucking sweet and so was she. They were absolutely made for each other. I could of jumped in these pages and gave her ratched ass grandma all this smoke. What an evil and rude bitch and got the never to have her raggedy ass in church. It be church folks alot of the time who be bringing unnecessary drama and mayhem. She definitely needed hands laid on her and not in a prayerful way. I'm still confused how even River had a relationship with her trifling ass. I'm glad this time around Xavier and Reign let NO ONE stand in their way. I love some Mayhem brothers😍😍😍.
Reign delay was super dope. I liked Xavier Mayhew after it was clear he wasn't a total jerk. He left Reign and acted a plum fool for three years. Then he came back for his girl. He was Reign delayed, I guess? Reign's grandmother needed a visit for a butt whipping. She treated Reign as a second-class citizen. I still need to know what's going on with her; that isn't normal.. A good read, and I'm ready for whoever is next to tell their story.
This was a good story. Childhood lovers reunited. Reign and Xavier were young and in love until well meaning families members broke them up. 3 years later X was back to get his girl. I'm glad Reign gave him another chance.
I really like how the author set up the narration of this book. It was unique. Each chapter was titled the name of the person telling their story from their point of view. I really enjoyed reading this one. Recommended!
Another great story about unshakable love. Loved how this couple was able to love just as deep apart as they were together and loved pass pain. Xavier and Reign are the two that were one before anyone could see it. They are the couple to be.
Wow...this had all the feels and angst that you didn't know you needed. Xavier and Reign are now my favorite couple of the cousins. Busy and Mecca- move over.
