I'm trying to forget what happened in my old job that made my confidence falter.
Starting over in a new city seemed like the best way to find my mojo—until I run into Dr. McSauce-Spiller in the cafeteria.
Carter
I'm not looking for my dream woman, but when I stumble right into her, spilling red sauce all over myself in the process, I can't help but take notice.
Ellise doesn’t want to let me anywhere near her heart but I can’t seem to help myself. I'm a doctor. I like to fix things.
Can I convince Ellise to trust me even though I represent everything she ran away from?

Ah, Carter. 😍😍😍 I loved getting to know this wise, supportive brother in the earlier books, and Dr Dangerous didn't disappoint. Such a sweet man. And Ellise. Brave yet broken, her story was birthed in tragedy and I sympathised with her greatly.
Pumped for Liam's book! He's going to be a very interesting character, ha ha ha ha!
I'm not sure why, but I always thought Carter was a serious type. Must be a surgeon stereotype. I enjoyed getting to know him and see his playful side. I loved his draw to Ellise. He is the perfect guy for her. He was so patient and wonderful. Ellise is such a strong woman, even though she currently feels broken. I loved her spunk, but also her vulnerability. I loved the cabin and wish I could be there right now. It was so wonderful and peaceful. I could feel the peace come through the book. Brooke and Grant were also fun secondary characters. I hope we get to see a little more about them. Of course, I loved seeing all the McKnight family again even if only briefly. I'm excited to read Liam's story.
This is my first time reading a book in the McKnight Family series. It was soooo good that I must go back and read the earlier books as well. I loved the characters of Ellise and Carter who were so real, likable and imperfect in the messiness they brought into their relationship. I loved the words of wisdom that Carter's mom shared with Ellise toward the end of the book; they rung with truth and helped Elisse understand that if we waited to be perfect or to find a perfect someone, we would never fall in love and get married. This book kept me completely engaged and left me feeling uplifted and happy. Highly recommend! I was entrusted with a copy of this book by the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I love the McKnight family and I was happy to revisit them! This one was a little slow for me, and definitely was not my favorite. But it was still cute I liked all the doctor nicknames, I liked the cameo appearances of all the McKnight family. I would've liked a little more background on Ellise though. A definite must read if you have read the series.
Loved it, I've loved getting to know the McKnight family and Carter didn't disappoint 🙌 he was amazing, Ellise was broken and he was determined to be there for her, she thought she couldn't be fixed. Ellise and Carter had such chemistry and a fun relationship, I love her names for him, Dr. Dangerous, Dr. Disaster..! Great clean, swoony, fun, romantic read.5 stars 🌟
This one just might be my favorite so far. I absolutely love Carter. The conflicts they encounter are mostly emotional and yet they never felt like whining. I appreciate clean romance with emotional depth. It was a quick and uplifting read.
Good story. While Ellise and Brooke definitely have plenty of baggage along with everyone else, they also show a lot of strength. Strength to do what needs to be done in the face of fear. I hope that future stories will include more details about both of them. The ending, which seems rushed, is almost an HEA.
Ellise and Carter have an interesting first encounter. Loved all of her nicknames for him but McHero seems the most fitting. She IMO was also his hero or at least a balm to his broken heart. One of my favorite couples. A rocky start, friends? to forever? Of course there is angst but we get a very happily ever after. I would love to read Brooke and Grant’s story. Hint hint
I enjoyed binging this series in the last few days. Fun to see more of the side characters. Sweet story and journey of the friendship of Ellie and Carter.
I've read other books by this author but haven't read any in the McKnight Family Romance series, until now. I loved Carter and Ellise's story. I look forward to reading more from his series.
Carter was a successful doctor who didn't have a significant other in his life. Then he ran into Ellise, I mean literally ran into her in the hospital cafeteria and spilled marinara sauce over both of them. He was intrigued by her because she didn't fawn all over him and try to get close to him because of his family connections. She wouldn't really even give him the time of day. He was determined to change that.
Ellise had suffered a great tragedy that had altered her career path. She was now working in a hospital cafeteria when she had been a great L&D nurse until she was accused of doing something she had not done. Now, she didn't have the confidence she once had and suffered PTSD symptoms from the event. In her mind, Carter, or Dr. McKnight was just another ego driven doctor. She didn't want anything to do with him. Then, he showed her his compassionate side and she wanted to know more. But, could she trust herself with him or would she be burned again?
This was a sweet, romance that was clean and wonderful. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
🌟🌟ONE TUMULTUOUS JOURNEY🌟🌟 Jumping jellybeans! This immensely talented, uniquely gifted and extremely impressive dynamic duo hit the ground running with this heart pounding, pulse racing tilt-a-whirl, serving up some heartbreaking lessons, harsh facts and ruthless drive, launching this bad boy to a whole new level. Unpredictable events and difficulty descend in a tempest of crumbling walls and brilliant stratagem, obscured perimeters and blurred barriers solidify as limitations are amplified and tested, secrets confessed, revelations unmasked, secrets revealed and promises made, reaching deep for every fiber of strength in a fierce surge of determination, blasting this baby to life spectacularly. The characters are complex, genuine and realistic with traits and qualities that balance and blend, with amazing depth and diversity with enough spice to add an extra kick to the mix. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job guys, thanks for sharing this awesome little gem with us.
I really enjoy these books. They deal with relationships and how they are built, while handling the issues each character has. Carter McNight has issues based on a past relationship. Ellise has issues based on a previous job. They are attracted to each other and he wants to pursue it, while she wants doesn’t want to. Situations happen and they learn more about each other. It has an HEA. It should be notes that this is a clean romance…the most that happens is kissing, but not with enhanced details. That doesn’t make the story any less interesting. I liked this book just as much as many of the books I’ve read that have intense intimate moments.
Miss running from life and herself slams into Doctor I know who I am and what I want with a bang. I enjoyed reading as Carter was able to understand Ellise and calm her fears. I liked how they were able to trust others and to work through their insecurities and hold tight to fight for what they really wanted.
Some of us never realized that soldiers are not the only ones who can get PTSD. Doctors and nurses can too. False accusations often come from people with power. Some special people see the pain of other's because they understand it. Highly recommended for all readers.
I feel like Carter’s character had potential, but I honestly didn’t feel a connection with the H and h in this book. I forced myself to finish it out of curiosity to see if I’d get a glimpse of the other MC’s from the previous books. Honestly, the whole side plot with Brooke and Grant was more interesting than Carter and Elli’s story lol. Is there a book about them does anyone know?
Who remembers Dr. kildaire, Dr. McDreamy, and now the current Dr. Conrad Hawkins? There are many more who have graced our. living rooms throughout the decades. Meyer and Mcconnell have added a doctor who fits right in with these other men,,, Dr. Carter Mcknight, Read and enjoy
The problem with authors writing about doctors, nurses and hospital settings- they rarely get it correct. Example: no doctor assisting a woman delivering in the back seat of a cab would bother to “put his stethoscope around his neck”. It isn’t needed or useful in that moment. Otherwise, the story is nice.
Carter is so sweet and protective. Ellise has some major trust issues. Carter just might be what the Dr. prescribed to help her. I enjoyed the relationship of these characters, especially the love and protectiveness of Carter.
This is such a fun series. Carter is a great character. He has all the great characteristics of the handsome hero. Ellise is dealing with some heavy issues from a past job. Sparks fly when the two accidentally meet in the hospital cafeteria. This is a fun sweet romance.
It doesn't always require a doctor to heal a broken heart. It just takes love. But, in this book, he is the doctor that can heal her broken heart! I loved this book and more importantly this whole series!! I hate that there is only one more book after this one.
There's something extra special about a couple that starts off on the wrong foot but eventually finds their way to happily ever after. I loved the characters! This is a sweet, clean fun read. I can't wait to read more from this family!
I like all of these books in this series but this one was so good it made me cry. These will be books I read over and over again. And a clean romance. I wish there were more of those.
This is an emotional rollercoaster of moments of friendship and love as two loveable and endearing characters journey towards unforgettable love story.
