R. O’Leary lives in North Pole, Alaska (no, really). When she’s not spending half the year freezing to death, she’s writing about shifters and aliens and anything else that strolls through her head. Most of her day is spent in pajama pants, chasing the pack of corgis that have claimed her living room as their own.
Furbidden Attraction is the first installment in R. O’Leary’s new paranormal romance series.
I am so thrilled to see Cam's story and more of his personality. Getting his own POV and through the eyes of Lexie was really interesting since we got a lot more from that story. I can't decide if I am disappointed that characters in the other books brushed him off a bit or if his quirks were a little tamed for his story through the new perspectives so that he seems more likable. I really wanted him to have the hero moment of being able to save the former UOD subjects through science.
Lexie was a good fit for Cam. I do have some minor qualms about her character not being fully fleshed out. Her being a siren focused really highly on the singing and "allure" as part of the plot and her insecurities. I would have liked to learn if she had a mermaid type form and more of her other supernatural characteristics (especially as it relates to her clumsiness because otherwise that was really over the top).
Another thing, despite getting their HEA, the epilogue does have a cliff hanger associated with the events of this story. It's frustrating because I don't know when or which book that plot point is going to be picked back up, which is hard with the publication schedule R' O'Leary seems to be keeping (focusing on the alien fairy tales series for the time being, per the author's note at the end).
This one ends on alittle cliffhanger but that’s ok because I will be reading the next one.
This book is about Cam and he is my favorite nerdy weirdo! I love that he sprout out facts when he is nervous and how he really doesn’t know how to interact with others well. Cam is that awkward guy who is super quite, sweet and doesn’t really care or know that he is hot! He has helped in the other books and has the whole town trying to guess what kind of monster he is but he won’t tell.
Lexi is a siren on the run from her latest mess up, she accidentally siren someone back home and is hiding out in Raven Falls with our merry band of monsters until it wears off the pour guy. When she meets Cameron it’s you guessed it weird and awkward but so cute! Lexi is kind of a curvy awkward clumsy mess herself so they are pretty good match together.
The spicy scenes between them are perfectly delicious and when someone gets on Cams bad side and between him and his girl everyone had better watch out.
Whilst I liked Lexie and Cam this just wasn’t quite as compelling. I enjoyed having a siren but felt uncomfortable with how her assets were utilised at one point, I appreciate I lack a thirst for vengeance but I feel this is something I share with Lexie so it jarred a bit for her to be callous, I did appreciate her approach to resolution although we were left to assume her untried plan was successful. It was a nice touch that the sense of peace Lexie provided allowed so much more for Cam. Increasingly it feels like there is more telling us their chemistry is earth shattering than showing us. All that said I liked both the MCs, they make for a very sweet pair and I still want an outcome for the overarching theme even if it feels like it stalled quite a ways back. Considering the next story was envisioned from the beginning I am very optimistic, the stories glow when the author is really feeling it

Siren Craving is book six in the series Raven Falls Cursed Romances by author R. O’Leary. I think this one is my favorite out of the series- there’s humor and klutziness - which is my life. Anywho, some shifters are stuck - like literally all in their animal form and no one has any clue how to fix it. The one shifter they called in is trying so far - nada. And its starting to mess with him. I mean he’s kind of mixed up to begin with. So dealing with his own issues in pops another. She is absolutely amazing. She is clumsy and sweet but she comes with her own baggage and believe me it’s a lot. But together they find something special at least you think they do. Then there is a Deal, that has to be made, there’s a kidnapping, a lullaby and a really tiny pink bikini. Enjoy!!
Cam the visiting scientist with an annoying love of sharing random facts. He's challenged by his coworker Iris (Deathly Desire) to make a friend. As fate would have it Lexie - a siren - is visiting from a clan in Vegas. To his surprise and delight, she's not put off by his quirks. Lexie is resigned to being alone because of her power. Together they learn to trust each other and in love. Plenty of the series trademark snarkiness and sexy times as well as laugh out loud scenes. I don't wait to end!!
I love this series but honestly each one is littered with spelling mistakes, missing words, incorrect words etc it does detract from the flow at times. They are good entertaining reads and i love the different spin on all the shifters and each couple is so unique they are enticing and a joy to read about. I had to knock a star off the rating due to editing issues.
Cam!!!! I had no clue that I would need his story as much as I did. I fell for him and his quirks hard and Lexie just made me so happy with her humor and clumsiness. They were a perfect match and had such a sweet and super hot story
This book was such a fun reading experience. It is literally all mush and cuteness but I honestly enjoyed it so freaking much. The plot twist could have been a teeny tiny bit bigger but otherwise it was a great read.
Though I didn't cry in this one I couldn't put it down, even for sleep. Cam and Lexie are too sweet together. I've loved every single one of these books and I'm sad to be coming to the end of the series
Really enjoyed reading this book just as much as the previous in this series. Looking forward to reading more. Loved the ending. Highly recommend reading.
I loved Cam’s character, all geeky and fact-y and distractible. Lexie handles him perfectly. Although I probably would have fired her day two if I was Rainy.
Even I wanted to do bodily harm to the Shaman. I really enjoyed the romance between Cam and Lexie. I felt like he was a badass under all that nerdiness.
So many eclectic supernaturals and shifters that it is ALMOST impossible to keep up! Add in the UOD and a stalker and you have an exciting story. Still needs better proofing.
