Again I enjoyed the continuing story of Dan McCarthy with his family and friends.
Not Alone series is always a new book I eagerly wait for, Good Aliens, Bad Aliens, and the behaver of our politicians would make us as bad as the bad aliens if it were not for a band of decent people struggling against often big odds.

This is the start of the third trilogy in a three-trilogy set. The reader is supposed to be able to dive in here without reading the previous six books. For the most part, that's true. But, occasionally, there are jarring moments when characters or events could have used more introduction.
The novel contains a wide range of characters to love or hate, including a disgusting, Trump-like president. There are also several kinds of drama: political, generational, cultural, etc.
The gist of the story is that an alien artifact is causing a rapidly increasing number of atrocious deaths, and the politicians and social media are at odds with how to deal with it. Xenophobia and a wish to shield the public until absolutely necessary confound the problem. The xenophobia comes from a distrust of other nationalities, aliens, and anyone with special, alien-given powers.
I enjoyed the novel when it reflected the distrust and dynamics we find in our current society. However, some of the characters were a little too good to be true, and the novel jumped around a little too much between its large number of subplots.

The problem started in Scotland when some strange pulses affected every single person who ever made use of the Uplift Talents in the past.
They felt excruciating neck pains.
But that is not all as pulses smashed buildings to pieces in the most amazing driving force.
And we get to eventually visit Skara Brae in Scotland. As well as the Isle of Answers on New Kerguelen.
But all in all it is the young Piper who surprises the most.
Of course, setting new paging records whilst reading books in this series, is old news by now.

Are the ones behind these terrifying pulses from New Kerguelen on the Messenger's home world? Or is the enemy hiding in plain sight?
As with every book in this series, the storyline draws the reader in to see what is happening with the McCarthy's, as the characters have become dear friends to us. But he also doesn't disappoint the reader's with a twisty ending. Falconer has hit another out of the ballpark!

I thought we were through
I thought Revelations was the end. I'm surprised to find that the series keeps on going, but starts up many years later with Piper becoming a teenager. Without warning, a weapon buried in Scotland initiates that keeps increasing in power destined to wipeout the human race in a week. The entire book is dedicated toward determining the nature of this device, and how to defeat it. The book reads interestingly enough, but plods on almost like a history book. In the end, the day is saved (along with the human race), but other problems have arisen that means we must do another book to find out where Tara and Clark have disappeared. We also haven't cleared up Timo's medical condition which was only revealed in this book. Need another book to resolve that hanging issue.

DNF. Got to 19% and could not read any more. I would rather have a root canal than read anymore books in this series or from this author. I bought the 3 book Evolution Trilogy. What a waste of money. I find the writing style irritating and boring. The constant breaks in one story line to get to another is irritatingly useless. Takes away from the flow of the story for the sake of being artistic. Just does not work.

Mr. Falconer Strikes Gold Again
I was a great fan of the first Not Alone trilogy, but this first installment of the second Trilogy surpasses the first with tighter action, lots of suspense, and the usual carefully loving attention to character development. Can hardly wait for the next installment at the end of February.

I've been a fan of this series from the start. I always look forward to the next instalment and this one (which is the first in a trilogy) was especially good. All the characters I know are back along with a few new ones to keep it interesting. Well paced with lots of character development and the usual government politics. Look forward to the next one.

Outstanding
Just finished reading this book and was blown away it is the best book in the series so far. If you liked the first books in this series then you will be totally thrilled with this one.I just hope the author hurries and writes more in this series.

This could be tale of science fact instead of science fiction . We have almost every thing in the story, except the portal to another place. Oh well that is Sci-fi. Great writing, and definitely worth reading..

Couldn't put it down
This series will have you losing sleep. I am staying up later and later trying to find a place I can stop at to go to bed. Seriously am starting the next one immediately.

What can I say? Craig has managed to keep me enthralled through yet another chapter of the McCarthy lives. Well worth a read. Anyway, must go start the next one now!

On edge of my seat
A great danger and a even better continuation of this alien series. As the stakes are raised again for our central grouo and Piper this was extremely well done and showcases just how well Falconer has come along.

The Not Alone series is huge, and it keeps on growing. Craig has upped the ante and I was glued to this book. Even more revelations, and more secrets. This is an awesome series and I’m keen to see what happens next.

DNF @ 20%. I think I should have started from the beginning of the series as there seemed to be much assumed knowledge. I didn't have that knowledge and got tired of trying to acquire or glean it from this book. Slow paced in the extreme.

January 4, 2022I'm invested in this series so I kept reading. This one clearly has a Trump-like character who's a real bastard (only competent) and the stakes are far higher. All in all, it was OK but not as impressive as the previous 2 trilogies.

This new trilogy has definitely followed in the path set by the first two in the series. There are multiple stories going on that all converge nicely at the end; or at least the cliffhanger end.

What started out as a trilogy, became a double trilogy with an extra. I thoroughly enjoyed them all. A different take on an old idea which lead to many hours of enjoyment.
