Georgia Exler has always been the odd witch out. In a family of accomplished witches, she’s the only one who never uncovered her own magical abilities… until she moved to Keating Hollow. Heartbroken after her husband of two years is killed in a tragic accident, the writer moves to the enchanted town to start over. All she wants to do is write her next book and make a few new friends. But when the events in her life start to mimic the newest paranormal romance she’s writing, she starts to wonder if maybe she’s found her magic after all. Only how is she going to give her characters their happily-ever-after, when she’s vowed to never fall in love again?
Logan Malone has loved and lost not once, but twice. He’s a man who’s resigned to a quiet single life among the redwoods with his dog and his manuscripts of hope and new beginnings. What he writes and what he’s wants are two different things. Or so he thinks. When another writer befriends him, suddenly magic is in the air, and the walls he’s built start to crumble. Is the third time a charm or will he leave Keating Hollow before he has a chance to find out?
Deanna is a native Californian, transplanted to the slower paced lifestyle of southeastern Louisiana. When she isn't writing, she is often goofing off with her husband in New Orleans, playing with her two shih tzu dogs, making glass beads, or out hocking her wares at various bead shows across the country. Waking of the Witch by Deanna Chase is the 11th Witches of Keating Hollow. It can be read as a standalone, but romance lovers will enjoy reading the series in order. It will allow you to get to know the various characters and the town. I love the magical community of Keating Hollow. It is a special kind of town. Waking of the Witch has Deanna Chase’s trademark writing with a cast of interesting characters. We get to meet Georgia Exler, a writer, and Logan Malone, another writer. Logan was formally a musician who has been unlucky at love twice. When Georgia is forced to sing at karaoke after losing a bet, she captivates the group at the pub. When the karaoke machine breaks down, Logan picks up his guitar. Logan’s love of music is reawakened. Georgia goes on a hike and ends up hurting her ankle. Logan is there to rescue her. Georgia realizes that two of her scenes from the book she is writing have come to fruition. Georgia has always been the non-magical one in her family, but now she is beginning to wonder. The chemistry between Georgia and Logan is off the charts, but she wants to make sure Logan is not being magically influenced. Some of the characters from the other books in the series make an appearance (Levi, Hope, Silas, Faith are a couple of them). Lust and desire abound in this book. Unfortunately, there is a significant amount of foul language (with all the words available, people need to expand their vocabulary) which I find off-putting. I wanted more humor in this story as well as magic. The ending lets us know that we will be getting Brinn Taylor and Austin Steele’s story in Honor of the Witch. Waking of the Witch is a lyrical tale with a bothersome brother, memorable music, steamy situations, a spellbinding songstress, wondrous words, and a magical musician.
It is always fun to be back in Keating Hollow. We get to visit with all our favorites throughout the book. There is always a good story in each of the people we meet in each book. This book is about Georgia and Logan. Georgia has not had it easy. She has had some very traumatic things happen in her life. One she never got the magic the rest of her family has. Logan thinks he is cursed. He has had nothing but bad luck in his life. The both have quite a few things in common. They are both writers. They don't want to have any romance with anyone. They keep getting thrown together in all kinds of ways. You get the felling there is magic after all in Georgia. Logan with his music you get all the feels. I was blown away with how much these two clicked. As you get to the end you know everything was meant to be. Music, Books, Magic and Love.
The sheer genius Deanna Chase puts forth in this series is unparalleled, and this book is no exception to that rule. The main characters Georgia and Logan are creative and I found myself bonding with their moods, and frustrations and cheering for their wins. It is incredible the way Ms. Chase continues to embrace and introduce life events of all kinds to keep her stories grounded and her readers entranced. As an unpaid arc reviewer it is my pleasure and great honor to give this review and to add this book to my personal library.
I really enjoy each visit to Keating Hollow. This is Georgia and Logan's story and kept me completely entertained as they both went through some significant growth both together and separately as their relationship deepened. It was great some so many of the previous books characters and catch up with them and their current lives. Ms. Chase weaves a story of family, friendships and romance so deftly that I was totally immersed into the story and didn't put it down until I finished it.
This is a great story! If Keating Hollow was an actual place, I would love to visit. Reading a new book set in this magical place is a delight. Georgia and Logan are interesting characters; I enjoyed following along on their journey. I’m looking forward to reading what happens next.
Georgia and Logan were destined for one another, but neither wanted to admit it or face it.
From their first meeting, with Georgia sitting on a piece of cake Logan moved to a chair, there was chemistry sparking between the two. Both having lost loved ones in the past, neither was ready for a relationship.
Georgia was never magical. She was always envious of her family's abiilties. But now it seems her writing is taking on a life of its own. After she penned the story of the heroine in her books sitting on a piece of cake laid in the chair by the hero of her book, it played out in real time during her meeting with Logan. Sure it was a coincidence, she didn't give it another thought. Until other scences she wrote in her book began playing out in her life, starring Logan, AGAIN.
Logan was having writers block. A successful novelist, and former musician, Logan was having a hard time getting into his next novel. When out hiking trying to work through potential plot ideas, he hears a woman scream. He runs up to where the sound came from and there lays Georgia sprawled on the ground, having twisted her ankle. He carries her to her car and takes her to a healer. Georgia is again confused as this is playing out just as she scripted in her book. What is going on?
Logan and Georgia soon find their attraction to one another is more than just friendship, but neither feel ready to commit again. Logan feels he is cursed as his prior loves both ended tragically, and Georgia lost her husband (the love of her life) in a tragic ski accident. Both are scarred and scared to love again.
Can each get past their past and find true love again?
Audiobook review: I always enjoy visiting Keating Hollow. It’s gives me the sense of coming home and visiting with great friends. This is Georgia and Logan story. I found myself connecting with them and their story
Wow just Wow!! Absolutely loved Waking of the Witch....Keating Hollows 11th book! Each book is the best of the best and this one is no different! I loved the story and the characters. Waking the Witch is about Georgia Exler, an author who moves to Keating Hollow after the death of her husband 2 years ago. Her family are all witches but for some reason Georgia never got any magical abilities. But as she plans her new story out some of her writings start to become real life. How can this happen? Is it just in Georgia's mind? Is she really making her story lines become reality? But she has never had any magic and she always felt left out...
Logan Malone is another author in Keating Hollow but he is having writers block. Running away from his past he doesn't let anyone get close to him because he has loved and lost one too many times. Is he cursed? One thing for sure is he is musically inclined. It was his life before becoming an author.
Georgia and Logan are thrown together in an odd way but magical as well... The chemistry between the two was amazing and I really enjoyed reading about their friendship and possible romance. Will it work out for them? Or will Fate come between them while Logan rediscovers his love of the music life.
Keating Hollow is the quintessential town full of witches. I would love to live there even though it is a fictional town Deanna Chase describes the town perfectly, I just picture the quaint little town and it is perfection. Deanna has a way of spellbinding her readers so that they need more! I really do need the next book in the series....but I know that it will come when it comes! You can't hurry perfection!
Yes each book can be read on it's own but seriously you have to read all of them. Maybe you will fall in love with Keating Hollow like I did! Highly recommend
Thank you to Deanna Chase for allowing me to read a advanced digital copy for an honest review. And while I am not eloquent with my words they are from my heart!
Karaoke, it always comes back to karaoke. After losing a bet, Georgia finds herself singing Stevie Nicks and pouring into it all of the love and loss she felt when she lost her husband suddenly. When the power goes out, the magic begins....
In many ways, Georgia and Logan have very similar backgrounds- they are both writers and they are both nursing broken hearts. However, when their relationship starts mirroring Georgia's latest book, Georgia worries that she is pushing Logan into a relationship without his consent. Meanwhile, Logan is trying to balance this new chance with Georgia, while overcoming his trauma of losing his first love, which not only broke his heart, but ruined his budding music career.
I really enjoy how the Keating Hollow's residents flit in and out of the series, so you are constantly getting updates on how folks are doing. This has been my absolute favorite trope, since I was a teenager. So, while enjoyed the romance, I loved hanging out with Levi and Hope as Levi finds his voice in music. In many ways, this series is like a Hallmark movie with witchcraft!
I received an advanced copy of the book and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Georgia & Logan Two writers with another talent. Two with histories that make them hesitant to give in to love again. Georgia has always been sad that she didn't seem to have any witchy powers like the rest of her family and most of her friends. That is until her current book seemed to be happening in real life as she writes her scenes. She's afraid to write some for fear those she cares about could suffer. Logan comes to her rescue, just like a recent scene, soon after they'd met again with friends in a local pub. Helping her means spending time together. Spending time means getting closer. Getting closer brings back their pasts that made them promise not to get involved again. Easier said. Will they get by the past and find a future or will her writing fears and his chance to fulfill a dream keep them apart? A good story with friends of the couple and old friends of we readers make for great characters and some intrigue for more than just Logan and Georgia. Add some steam and you've got a great read .
Deanna Chase hit it out of the park again with Waking of the Witch! Just another great addition to the Witches of Keating Hollow series. One thing I love about every book in this series is the fact that the older characters also play a part in each book, even if it is a small part.
In Waking of the Witch, writer Georgia falls in the woods and is saved by fellow writer, Logan. As with any HEA, their romance isn't all smooth sailing, but it is a great love story. Very well written. Levi plays a large part in this book, with Silas also being a part of it, if a smaller part than Levi. I loved this because I love the character of Levi!
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who not only loves witch stories, but anyone who loves to read period. It is extremely well written and the characters are well developed, as with every Deanna Chase book.
This was a good book with a very interesting storyline. I am truly enjoying this series!

In this addition of the Witches of Keating Hollow, a stroll through the woods and a fall can find yourself in the arms of an instant soul mate who rock your world in mysterious ways. That’s what happened with Georgia and Logan. The chemistry between the two of them was so intense that they could not be separated from each other for long stretches of time.
Writing a song together Georgia and Logan received a recording offer from a big studio label. Then Logan thought he could fulfill his old dreams of being a rock star from a long time ago but his past was not fulfilled by the same man he once was. Now he’s missing the love of his life Georgia who is in Keating Hollow and he’s in LA . He has to make the choice whether to stay and try and get back his fame or return to Georgia.
If you want to read the full story on how Georgia and Logan’s relationship began and how their relationship grew and what choices were made by Logan and Georgia please read this wonderful book. It will bring you to tears and sadness and smiles and joy throughout this book.
I love how Chase keeps adding new and unique abilities/situations in her witches' lives like Georgia who has latent abilities that slowly start coming out. The twist about her abilities manifesting through her writing into her real life was fun to see and piqued my curiosity in how she would deal with it - would she embrace it? or run from it?
Logan wasn't quite the stellar male lead that I've seen Chase write in the past, but then again, I think it's because both Georgia and Logan's talents were a bit too similar. I wish there could have been a bit more of a difference between them and see more complimentary talents. The fact that they were so similar made the plot a bit more predictable than I liked. With that said, I do appreciate the strength Chase gave Georgia when faced with an opportunity and spotlight she never imagined & how she ended up handling it. In all, it was a cute story; just not one of my absolute favorites.
I often recommend this series as a Hallmark movie with a slight paranormal background. That is one of the reasons I love Keating Hollow so much. I know going in that we're going to get our HEA. There are going to be some rough roads, with REAL life problems, but they will find their way. Another reason is because the female characters are not afraid to say this is what I need in life to be happy and fulfilled. Then the couples find a way to make sure that BOTH of their needs are met, the way a relationship should be. Georgia and Logan have so much in common, but when you have different dreams and goals, commonalities mean very little. Georgia and Logan show us, that true love means you can make sacrifices for those you love, but you can't sacrifice yourself in the process. Help your partner reach their goals, but make sure you don't lose sight of who you are. Definitely worth reading/listening to and I look forward to the next book!
Book 11 in the series. What a fantastic series this is. You will love it and it will have you hooked from the beginning till the end .you will love Georgia Exler Story. Heroine is Georgia Exler. Hero is Logan Malone Georgia is the odd one of her family, no special powers at all , she and her family wonder what happened to her and her powers Both Georgia and Logan and brought together in Keating Hollow, both are authors. As they interact things start to happen as Georgia . She sees it’s exactly as the description in her book. Georgia wonders is her powers developing, or is Logan being with her . Is it The chemistry between the two
Gabra Zackman Performance is fantastic. She brings you right into the story . You think your right in Keating Hollow
This is the eleventh book in the Witches of Keating Hollow series, and I quite enjoy this series and this author. This latest sees Georgia getting her own HEA, and this was a fun book with Georgia thinking she’s writing her own story while she’s writing her book. The books in this series never disappoint if you are looking for a fun, light-hearted book to enjoy for an afternoon. You can read this as a standalone, but if you read all of them, you get more of how everyone is connected and their backstories. I just wish I could remember more of the previous books. LOL! Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Georgia never had magical power until she moved the Keating Hollow. As she writes her next book, she finds that what she writes is coming true. Logan is a friend and another writer. She and Logan both have no desire to fall in love. They each have loved and lost. But when they are together, magic happens. As they grow closer there will be hard choices to make. Can they let go of the past to find happiness in their future? Levi has a bigger role in this book. Would love to see him get his own book in the future.
Another great book in this series. I am definitely looking forward to Brinn’s story next.
Ahhh Keating Hollow, I love being back in this town. Georgia and Logan… is their attraction real or magically manifested or is it just plain magical and they should both give in and let it all happen naturally magical or not? This story was magical which I probably say with every book by Deanna Chase but it’s truth some authors just have the magical touch with their writing and Deanna always hits the mark with her words. Keating Hollow is a most magical town that truly comes more to life with every story I read and I love coming back time and time again. It’s also one of those book towns I’d move to in a heartbeat.
If you need a break from family this Thanksgiving weekend then hide away and read Waking of the Witch. The story of Georgia and Logan is so heart-warming and sweet that you will forget about the bickering family disputes. Seriously though I just love the entire Keating Hollow series and Georgia and Logan are a slow burn story with all of the HEA feels. The witch powers are so different than any of the other witches in the series and it amazes me how Deanna Chase keeps coming up with unique twists to the series. Well worth the read !
I am so glad to get to go back to Keating Hollow, I seriously want to live there! The people and shops sound so amazing! Traveling back to Keating Hollow is like getting to visit old friends, I love how each book brings the other characters of the town back through each story. This story is about Georgia and Logan, both writers in their own right. This is such an heartwarming story, both have suffered loss and heartbreak. When they come together magic happens. This was great to read over the holiday break! I can't wait for book 12!!
The story was sweet, but I wasn't feeling the chemistry for these two. Still trying to decide if Georgia has magic or not. It did appear she was leading certain events which would be a little disturbing if it continued, so hopefully it was just for her and Logan's story. These last two books...I haven't felt them like I did the rest. It's possible that binging the first 9 all at once had me wrapped up in the magical feels of Keating Hollow, that niw reading these ones months apart and alone doesn't have the same impact.
So excited to be back at Keating Hollows!! It was nice to see how my favorite witches are doing and how life is treating them. I really enjoyed reading Georgia’s book scenes and how they may have replayed again. It was fun to see her talents come to life. I love the banter between Georgia and Logan and how it developed effortlessly through the book. If you enjoy reading a cozy paranormal romance, consider picking this series up. It is fun, light, romance, and a bit of hocus pocus. Lovable characters that will leave you wishing you could visit Keating Hollows.
Logan's new to town and falls for georgia. I felt some things was not resolved in this book why was her writing coming true now? Was it because it was about logan, will it stop?I
Also why did she never talk about her lost husband, one time when she tells him but it barely there,I get Logan lost two loves but the 2nd was cheating on him.but Georgia was married and lost him to death.it felt to much about logan.and it felt like Logan wanted cherry and that life and tried to put Georgia in that slot.
Another great Keating Hollow adventure! Is Georgia influencing events with her magic or is life just happening that way? Is Logan under her influence or just a coincidence?
So many questions about both of their past come up and you are given bits and pieces - just enough to keep those pages turning. You won't want to put this book down until you've read the last page. Georgia and Logan's story is one you won't want to miss, especially with Levi coming into his own as a subplot.
This story was just a great paranormal romance book. I enjoyed the new characters and the old. I enjoyed the building of a romance and the parallel of that in this book. It was a book I just wanted to keep reading as I was enjoying the story that much. Even though you do not have to I suggest reading the series in order to understand characters and their relationships to each other. Loved this book.
This book is another Awesome addition to the series! I loved Georgia and Logan story. Two writers together after Georgia suffers a loss and is just looking for a quite place to retreat. These books honestly make me feel like I am visiting with old friends as you also get visits from others in the series. I absolutely love this series and am always sad to finish like I am leaving old friends but had a great visit at the same time.
This is Georgia and Logan's story, neither wanted to fall in love as they had both loved and lost. When Georgia and Logan are together it's magically, the interaction and chemistry. The storyline is entertaining and I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book 📚, as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Sweet story. I've been looking forward to Georgia's story every since she appeared in the series. The subplot for Levi was great to see too. I found myself cheering for everyone in the story. One part towards the end, I was momentarily confused but then figured out what it meant. Look forward to the next book!
