A tragic past. A mysterious, fascinating woman. And a deadly new case.
Firefighter Engineer Jackson “Jax” Honeycutt thought he found the woman who could finally chase away the ghosts of his uncle and aunt’s untimely deaths.
But he’s stunned when she simply disappears.
Even though he imagines hearing her voice everywhere he goes, he’s determined to focus on his career.
Elite first responder Andrea Roberts has fought hard for her career. Still pining for the man she has loved from afar, she treasures the few intimate hours they enjoy together before she rebuffs his advances. Determined to keep him safe, she conceals her identity and walks away from a chance for love.
As Jax pursues answers that could get his family killed, his dreams come to life when Andrea unexpectedly returns to his arms. But as their passionate affair heats up, neither can foresee an old pain twisting into a looming threat.
As the odds stack up against them and danger lurks around every corner, Jax and Andrea must find a way to hold onto their budding romance if they have any chance of saving each other.
One Night: Guarded Hearts, Unsung Heroes, Defying The Odds is the third book in the Brothers of Solemn Creed series.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters of Jax and Andrea are well depicted, likable, and strong. The storyline is well written and has danger from the past, suspense, intrigue, and passion. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
I enjoyed Jax & Andrea's book. It was an entertaining read. Good characters with good chemistry. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
I loved this book. The story of Andrea aka Blaze was an emotional roller coaster. Her involvement with Jackson brought so much more to the story. The story of fire fighters & their brotherhood is so well explained. Thank you Jodi for another well written book in this series.
Jodi James made us wait for the third installment in her Brothers of Solemn Creed series, and this book was worth the wait. Jax and Andrea are a couple you root for throughout all the twists and turns of this story. Loved the passion between them and the challenges they overcome. And Jax...sigh...what a hero!
This is a good read. It's the third story in the "Brothers Of Solemn Creed" series. Although it is a stand alone read you would probably get more out of it by reading them in order. The author does a good job with history that it's not necessary to read them all. This is Jax and Andrea's story. The spend a night getting to know each other but then she leaves without a word on how to reach her. He keeps hearing her voice and finally connects with her. I like how their story develops. It's sweet and tender. There is also the ongoing struggle to find the truth so a lot of characters, danger, suspense, mystery and with some good twists and turns.
I enjoyed and was entertained by this well written storyline and the characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry. Jax and Andrea are great together.

With every book more pieces of the puzzle as to what happened all those years ago fall into place and how lives become intertwined due to the tragedy. I really liked Jax and Andy together although they have a few up and down as they navigate going from a night where they didn't exchange names and just talked the night away to revealing more o themselves while the past comes knocking and old wounds are reopened as well as progress made. Thankfully both Andy and Jax know what they want in life and with each other and will fight for it.
