Volume 2 expands the story beyond the academy setting and starts developing the larger mythology surrounding the Demigods and the ancient world. The stakes feel much bigger, and Lucas begins to resemble the legendary mage he once was rather than just a talented student. The worldbuilding improves noticeably, with stronger tension, larger-scale conflicts, and more focus on strategy and lore. The side characters also become more involved, helping the story feel less one-dimensional. Although some pacing issues begin to appear, this volume overall feels more ambitious and polished than the first, making it the stronger entry of the two.
Curiously, reading this and other power-up fantasy manhwas lately, reminds me of Arthurian legends, with a strong titular character fighting unimaginable evils with a trusty band of lieutenants to support. Interesting to see different interpretations of this fantasy trope in different mediums over the years. Though as much fun as the "classic" fantasy plots are, I understand the draw towards more non-traditional and chaotic fantasy plots.
This was a really great manhwa, a lot of action and a fast-paced plot, it had me reading till waay early in the morning. it´s complete at 200 chapters, the rest continues with a side story from an alternate universe.
