Jacquez: Sheryl South tried to treat me like a one-night stand. Not once, but twice.
She didn't do seconds, she said.
She had two jets, her friend said.
She'd eat me alive, they said.

It was all true.
Yet, I couldn't get her out of my head.

Sheryl: Jacquez Costa was supposed to be a conquest. I conquered and moved on. Well, until the unthinkable happened and all the money and technology in the world could not stop what we did. It changed my life forever, and for once, I was not the prepared CEO when it came to this territory. Neither was he, and therefore, we kept getting it wrong.
So I thought.

I wanted to like this book. This author usually writes very good books. This was not one of them. After the 1st two pages I had to go back and check to make sure I hadn’t accidentally downloaded a Twyla Turner book ( her books are vastly different) But no, I had the right one. This book felt rushed. Sentences had words missing. The conversations bounced back and forth and were confusing at times. The story felt too short and drawn out at the same time. The characters were not likeable at all. Sheryl was supposed to be a tough business woman but I couldn’t see it. We didn’t actually see any of her business acumen in the story. We just kept being told she had 2 jets and that she was direct. Jacquez was the same, except with him they confused aggressive with assertive. Their individual issues felt forced. Im not saying those things can’t affect relationships but the issues felt square and the relationship was a round hole. It tried so hard to be a book that was about two people with deep issues they needed to resolve before getting together. What it is was was one long sex scene with pushy people who didn’t communicate properly and who thought they were both alphas but who were just rude inconsiderate people with no chemistry whatsoever. I barely finished it. I didn’t buy the all consuming love, the emotional trauma felt alien to the story and the big reconciliation fell flat. This was by far the worst story of this series. It had the bones of a good house but instead came off like mobile home.
And on a side note this author bases a lot of her books in Philadelphia. I live in Philly and I don’t know what city she’s writing about but it’s not the city of Brotherly Love. She seems to think it’s exactly like New York. It’s not. She makes up parts of town that don’t exist and adds a glamorous air to it that you would find outside the city rather than in the middle of it. It just bugs me that rather than research or use actual places and landmarks she creates a fake Philadelphia that is so far removed from the real one that it personally distracts me from the story.
This book wasn’t always wrong but unfortunately it was damn near close.

Great Read

This is a great read with complicated characters. It's a hot and steamy read with a good plot, character interaction and a few twists i didn't see coming. I need to read the other books in this series. I highly recommend this read.

Wasn’t convinced

I couldn’t really connect with their love story. It felt more like 2 people in their 40s at the top of their professional game stopping to take stock and reevaluate. For the longest it felt like Sheryl was on
this solo quest when even after she got her life coach she was quite happy to be a single mother of an adoptive child. She didn’t demonstrate any sort of attachment to Jacquez. He was a means to an end (the baby) and when she decided that it wasn’t really what she wanted because of her other issues, she just dropped him for months without a real explanation. He ran after her, he pushed, she never did. Felt really unbalanced to me. To be honest their initial idea was convoluted because clearly there’s no way they would have been able to sustain it long term, however I would have preferred it if the author let it play out and for them to naturally realized they were in love before the baby came. Clearly they would have gone to counseling/couple therapy whilst preparing for the baby and come to the same conclusions organically. But at least it would have been together.

Another great book!

You just know when Xyla Turner writes a book its going to be good! This was a love story that just started off wrong. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts!! What started as a one night stand , but ended up being something more. I loved that Sheryl owned her sexuality and was not ashamed. It was great that both main characters were strong and had to learn when and where to compromise. Soo good.

Enjoyed!

I enjoyed the storyline and the main two characters. The story was short, but the characters got their stuff together and was able to have a HEA.

I liked this but it wasn't as engaging as the others in this Across the Tracks series. Jacquez and Sheryl definitely have chemistry right off the bat. However, both carry scars from the past that help shaped their fear of relationships. They actually go through a lot together. But their romance still kind of didn't move me as much as the other. I have no idea why. Maybe it was Sheryl. She was always running. Her vulnerability is there, but she fails a lot in trying to open up to the man she obviously is in love with. It gets a bit frustrating with these two, but ultimately, of course, we get a HEA. It was sweet how they got there so the story did kind of warm my heart at the end. 3.5 stars.

A whole lot of nothing

This books was just a whole lot of words with nothing happening, the same conversations with a squandered plot line, giving it two stars for the potential it could have had

Sheryl and Jacquez 💗💗💗🤗

Always Wrong is the 4th book of the Billionaire Romance series by Xyla Turner. This story is a different take on two very strong individuals. Sheryl and Jacquez. They are both rich and strong answers to no one. There's no place or time for love. Work is what they love, this how their businesses thrived. When there is a sexual need, it's one and done. No seconds. Until they meet each other. Due to an accidental pregnancy and a miscarriage, life changes everything. This story is so real. Both the H/h are grieving for more than one reason. Read this book to see how Jacquez and Sheryl dealt with the past and their present upsets and disappointments. Great storyline! Thanks Xyla Turner. Losing a child is a sad and
horrible ordeal. Emotional, funny and enjoyable story.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Always Wrong is Just Right

I loved this book. Jacquez and Sheryl were so much alike that it was funny when they were together. It was funny because they both stayed away from relationships, but that’s exactly what they had between the two of them. Jacquez was 100% Alpha and I loved every bit of him. Sheryl was the same except in female form. And together they were just right, event though they might have started things off backwards with the pregnancy first. I like how they both took time to know each other and to come to terms with their life changes. Their chemistry was jumping off the pages, but so was their love. And glad they took the leap of faith with each other because they are great together.

Always food for thought!

This is one of my favorite authors. Her stories always give me food for thought whether it be on social, personal or professional issues. This story as well as others prompt self reflection. I often find myself trying to do a psychoanalysis of the people in my personal and professional life. It often helps me to find humor in a situation and ease stress. Ms. Turner's books continue to be a very good read.

So good!

This couple! Beyond sexy! I think they are top 3 couples that showed the most growth out of all of the reoccurring characters. I think I enjoyed Jacquez point of view more than Sheryl’s. This like all XYLA’S books was well written and leave waiting on the next book to drop!

Jacquez and Sheryl’s story was something else, I think this story was longer than it should have been. I personally don’t see how Jacquez wanted someone like Sheryl she was as mentally unstable as her mother.

This was one of my favorites but it wasn’t bad...I am looking forward to the next book!

Disappointed. I have enjoyed all of the previous books in this series but this one fell short. I think my expectations may have been high because of the glimpse we got of Sheryl and Jaquez in the previous book and maybe that's why it fell short. I didn't get the player and kick azz alpha female I was expecting. Kinda felt like a redo of Maxcine and Noah. Oh well...

Always wrong

Jacquez and Sheryl thought they would be bachelor and bachelorette for life. After their one night book up and the possibilities of being parents. They made a plan to have a child, raised the child while cohabitating . Never speaking of love . Little did they know love was looking for them and it found them in the end.

Sheryl and Jacquez

Lived the book. It just goes to show us that life itself is spontaneous; no plans or contracts fit into life. Something else always comes up and anything at anytime can go wrong. But it worked out that after marriage, beautiful Janique was born...without contracts, monitoring ovulation cycles but all in the Master’s plan.

Wow what a beautiful story, it made me emotional and really think about how our pasts may be affecting our future. How we need to deal with emotions we have been constantly suppressing.

Awesome

I love books with powerful black woman and Cheryl South was definitely that kind of woman. Even though I knew the book was in would end in a HEA it was interesting to read about an alpha male succumbing to the woman he fell in love with. I really loved this book.

Loved it

This was delightful. I like men that take charge, and alpha men just hit me right. Sheryl and Jacquez were cut from the same cloth. I really liked them together. The strains on Sheryl and her questions regarding her parentage could really do a number on some. She was amazingly resilient.
Loved this story.

Cute

I actually don’t remember this couple from Always Right, so I had to scan that book before reading. It was a cute story but I was left a little disappointed and I am not sure why.

Wrong??

What's wrong to me is the rush at the end. I know with all her inherited family , that wedding had to have had no less than a hundred laughs and funny moments. Still not to bad

Love this story. It was challenging, warm and a good read. It reminded you that in life you will go through something’s a little bit ahead of yourself, but in the end all things will work out.
