Hot, cute, and funny! Reggie makes it hot and Maggie's little girl, Emily made it cute and funny. I love single parent tropes. A hot guy who likes kids is irresistible. Plus I usually adore the kids in these books and Emily was no exception. I like that she was so smart and inquisitive. She wanted a brother so bad that it caused some very funny scenes in the book. I haven't read the first two books in the series and you can consider this a standalone. You do get previous characters as side characters and it just made me want to go and read their books next. I listened to the audiobook for this one and really enjoyed the

Hot for You by Marie Harte was my last book of 2021, and man! We went out with a bang! Teasing and spicy, Hot for You is the perfect read to bust up a slump or just for some simple, hot enjoyment!
Marie Harte is a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author. Marie has written over 110 books! Which, wow. That's amazing! And to think I want to read her backlog... Like me, Marie also enjoys a book and good cup of coffee.
Maggie is just trying to make it work for herself and her daughter. She is a single mom who is a teacher trying to make ends meet. One day while out and about, her daughter convinces her to pull over the car and save an abandoned puppy. The puppy is saved, but Maggie gets hit by a car. Thankfully, she's not seriously injured, but does need emergency care. Reggie is a firefighter who just can't quite get over his last love. All his friends and family try to tell him that she was just using him for money, but he will hear nothing of the sort. That is, until he gets called to a hit-and-run and helps the beautiful Maggie. Reggie visits Maggie in the hospital, which is NOT normal firefighter/EMT duties. They become close as he keeps Frank, the dog, with him until Maggie recovers. What starts as a guy just helping a girl out, turns into something much hotter. Tatiana Sokolov, the narrator, did an amazing job. She was easy to understand and read the story with great inflection and passion.
I thought Harte's writing style was great. This is the third book in a series (which I didn't know) but could be read as a stand-alone! The spicy scenes and dirty talk were well written and not at all cringey, which I find to usually be a major problem for me and romance books. The pacing was great and there was just enough teasing to move the story and relationship along.
This was my first Marie Harte novel, but I am already looking into getting others - especially the first two in this hot firefighter series! I totally recommend if you like romance with steamy scenes a-plenty.
Hot for You is certainly an apt title for the story of two people that come together in the strangest of situations and are unable to resist the passion that pulls them toward one another despite their fears. Maggie’s sass and sweetness were a perfect complement for Reggie’s gruff sexiness and together they make a beautiful couple, but throw in the enigmatic and precocious little Emily and I can see this family laughing and loving together for the rest of their lives. Maggie reminds us that strength isn’t always physical as she stands up to and for the man she loves as she makes him understand that he doesn’t have to save the world to be her personal hero. Reggie comes to understand that he can reserve his protection for those that truly earn it when he is off-duty and reserve that energy for living and loving with those special few in his inner circle. The heat between them is indescribable and let me tell you a few times I had to put the book down and refresh my ice water before moving on, because WOW. That said there is no denying that Maggie and Reggie are hot as hell together and will have a long and interesting love life as they move forward together in the future. I am looking forward to the rest of this series and hoping for more than just Mack’s book, because I’d love to continue to see these crazy guys and their friends in future stories as well, but if not I know that Mack’s book will take us out of the series bang. Marie Harte never fails to amaze and terrify me with the depth of her imagination, and Reggie’s story went above and beyond for sure.
OMG! I love a hot firefighter and especially one who loves kids. Reggie is one H-O-T firefighter and he had just given a talk to young kids at school and met Emily who made quite the impression when his unit was called out on a hit and run and it turned out to be Maggie who was hit by a car. Maggie is Emily's mom and she Reggie have all sorts of chemistry but Reggie has been hurt before and does not want to get burned again by a mom and her daughter. These three make a great family if they can keep the drama of his past from coming back.

Another firefighter meets his match. With a single mom. But the comic relief in the book from the daughter will keep you rolling on the floor! This interracial romance will keep you smiling but steam up the windows, throw in some hijinks from the couples friends and it's for sure a fun time.
Reggie like Maggie and her daughter Emily, but is afraid of getting hurt again. He also fears he is repeating past mistakes by getting involved with a single mom. Should he resist? Can he resist?
So the best part of this book is Emily and the baby seeds. It had me literally laughing out loud more than once. I found the last 1/4 or so extremely frustrating. I did not like the direction the story went.
I listened to the audiobook. Tonya Eby is narrating under the pseudonym Tatiana Sokolov, which she uses for more explicit books. While I've listened to many books by her before, this series is the first time I've listened to books read under her pseudonym. I always associate her with quirky, so it is a bit strange, lol. I always enjoy her narrations, but my brain had a hard time pairing her voice with the content. She does a great job as always- it was just a strange combination for me.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Meh. Not a fan of dirty talk. 🤢 It just always sounds gross. And there ended up being a bit of it after someone came out of their shell! lol. I did like the story, the romance, but I did not like how dumb Reggie was when it came to women. I didn't like the chapters in Emily's perspective, that was odd and I didn't feel like they belonged. But Emily did remind me of my niece, Olivia, who is younger but just as precocious and smart and sassy as Emily is!
So this book started out really well and had me hooked. Who doesn't want to see a handsome firefighter saving a single mom and a puppy?
Unfortunately, the book went downhill for me after the rescue. I didn't like how both main characters were really sweet people but as soon as they were alone together they turned into these really vulgar freaks in the bedroom. I honestly started just skipping pages to get past the steamy scenes. Also, Reggie screwing up at the end with his ex made me just want to punch him.
I did really like seeing the relationship between Reggie (firefighter) and Maggie's daughter develop. That was really sweet! And the two gay best friends really warmed my heart.
Overall, not a great one. I don't think I will continue this series or go back to read the ones before this one. Just 2.5 stars.
Hot For You was a 2.75/3.0 star read for me. This book was just OK.
To be completely honest I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I didn't personally like how much the daughter was a part of the storyline. I know the intention was for her to be funny but to me, she just started to get on my nerves. There was also not enough conflict in this book to keep me interested and I felt like there was a ton of fluff that just made the book feel like it was dragging on. I was not excited to keep playing the audiobook. I will give another book by Marie Harte a shot in hopes it hooks me more.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. All reviews are my own.
Hot for You is the third book in Marie Harte's steamy firefighter series Turn up the Heat. The romance stands alone, so feel free to dive right in as you won't be lost in the least. I listened to the audiobook version which was decently narrated by Tatiana Sokolov. It was a fun and sweet romance with an overload of intimate scenes.
Firefighter Reggie Morgan was burned in love before, and now he's gun shy. He was in love with a woman with a child Reggie absolutely adored, but she suddenly left him without him getting even a goodbye from the little girl. He's sworn off love, but then he's called to the scene of a hit-and-run accident. There he finds scared little Emily, (who he previously met when giving a talk about his job to a group of kids), a hurt stray puppy and an unconscious woman. The woman is teacher Maggie Swanson, the divorced single mother of Emily. Reggie visits Maggie while she's in the hospital, and the the two can't help but be drawn to each other. Is Reggie following old patterns and trying to be a saviour, or has he finally found his perfect partner?
I really enjoyed the story and characters in this audiobook. Emily was an endearing "Ninja Warrior Princess", puppy Frank (short for Frankenstein) was simply adorable, and Reggie and Maggie were genuinely likeable people. Maggie was now friends with her former husband, was self-sufficient and had wonderful friends. She didn't " need" a man, but she wanted Reggie. Reggie had a loving and teasing family, and he had great friends in his brother firefighters. He loved to help people, but he allowed himself to be used by others, such as his former girlfriend Amy who played him like a fiddle. He would clash with Maggie when he tried to pay for dinners, etc. because she didn't want to be taken care of, just loved. The attraction between these two was incendiary, and steamy times were had frequently. Rather graphic intimate relations were lovingly detailed. I must admit there were times that I wish they would take a break going at it like bunnies and return to the basically sweet storyline. There were some great supporting characters, most notably Reggie's charming father who tries to give his son relationship advice, his firefighter buddy Mack, and married couple Benny and Doug, who are Maggie's best friends and Emily's "uncles". Narrator Tatiana Sokolov did an excellent job voicing Maggie and Emily, but she didn't have much range with the male characters. I'm looking forward to Mack's story, which we get a hint of at the end of this one. Keep the ice water close at hand!
I received an ARC of this audiobook courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.
HOT FOR YOU is the third instalment in Marie Harte’s contemporary, adult TURN UP THE HEAT erotic, firefighter, romance series. This is thirty-three year old, former US Navy Sonar Tech, and firefighter Reggie Morgan, and twenty-nine year old, primary school teacher/divorcee/single parent Maggie Swanson’s story line. HOT FOR YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from several third person perspectives HOT FOR YOU follows the building romance and interracial relationship between firefighter Reggie Morgan, and primary school teacher Maggie Swanson. Called to the scene of a hit and run, Reggie Morgan finds himself falling for the victim, single mother Maggie Swanson. Having previously met Maggie’s precocious, six year old daughter at a children’s firefighter event, Reggie felt a kinship towards our story line heroine but Reggie has always had a need to help, to fix someone broken, and in this, Reggie believes Maggie is ripe for the picking. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Maggie and Reggie, and the potential fall-out as Reggie’s past retains control of our story line hero.
Maggie Swanson is a feisty, independent, strong willed, sexual woman who refuses to be anyone’s victim. Meeting firefighter Reggie Morgan stirs something deep within our story line heroine, something Maggie long thought buried and gone but Maggie’s first priority is her six year old daughter Emily, a young child who has stolen the heart of our story line hero. Reggie Morgan has loved and lost, and in this, Reggie struggles to move on from the past. Seeing a second chance with Maggie Swanson, Reggie begins a slow seduction of the woman with whom he will fall in love, a woman whose need for Reggie is outmatched by Reggie’s want to be needed by Maggie Swanson.
The relationship between Reggie and Maggie is one of immediate attraction but Reggie struggles with demons from the past. Maggie is a highly sexual woman who knows what she wants in the bedroom, and isn’t afraid to talk dirty when the situation arises. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary characters are flirty and fun-what comes out of the mouth of six year old Emily is priceless. We are reintroduced to Reggie’s fellow firefighters and EMTs: Brad Battle (Make Me Burn), Tex McGovern (Burning Desire), Mack, Hernandez and Washkowski; Reggie’s sisters Lisa and Nadia, and their father Harry Morgan; Maggie’s neighbors and Emily’s pseudo uncles Doug and Benny, as well as Maggie’s ex Stephen, their daughter Emily, and Reggie’s ex Amy.
HOT FOR YOU is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; a story of betrayal, need and obsession; of love and acceptance. The premise is entertaining and engaging –the world building is detailed but I found myself skipping over what I thought were unimportant details like several paragraphs/pages of 80s movies and pop culture references; the romance is provocative; the characters are energetic and dynamic. HOT FOR YOU is another wonderful instalment in Marie Harte’s TURN UP THE HEAT sexy, firefighter series.
Hot for You, Turn Up the Heat #3, written by Marie Harte and narrated by Tatianna Sokolov is a steamy, sexy, sweet, funny, and entertaining erotic romance that draws you in from the very first scene with laugh-out-loud humor, making you laugh and keeping you listening with interesting, well-drawn characters, vivid description, and a thoughtful and emotional story that sneaks up on you. Harte deftly balances off-beat humor with smoking hot porntastic sex and serious, intense, and emotional content. One of my favorite things about her novel is how the hero and heroine take the time to get to know each other, talk, and hang out. While their sexual attraction is strong and the relationship may initially be primarily sexual, they develop a solid foundation for a genuine friendship that leads to a deeper connection. I love steamy romances where the characters form a deeper connection on other levels too—emotional, mental, friendship.
Still hurting from a bad breakup, firefighter/EMT Reggie Morgan thought he was over love, relationships, and complications. All of that didn’t take into consideration a precocious little genius named Emily who he meets during a firefighter presentation at the library. Surprisingly, when he’s called to the scene of a hit-and-run, he finds a frightened Emily holding onto a butt-ugly stray puppy and her unconscious mom, Maggie, who makes an even bigger impression on him. He can't get her out of his mind. Though he’s determined not to repeat his past mistakes that lead to his broken heart, Reggie can’t stay away from Maggie, who captures his imagination, enflaming his desire, and Emily, who easily works her way into his heart. Maggie is just as into Reggie as he is into her. But since her divorce, her life has been focused solely on raising her incorrigible daughter.
I love Hot for You’s original, quirky, and very real characters, especially Maggie’s genius, six-year-old with her hilarious preoccupations. She’s my favorite character because she’s one of a kind and just so adorably funny. Emily’s a scene-stealer, but not the only one. I liked that Reggie’s race is brought up in positive, descriptive ways and neither disregarded/avoided nor does it become the source of conflict in this romance featuring an African American man and a white single mom. Instead, the novel is all about the connections between Reggie and Maggie and Reggie and Emily. I also love that Reggie is a brain genius too and a pop culture nerd. Reggie’s a sweet man with a generous, kind and loving heart, but he’s also kind of a hot mess! It’s a nice change of pace for the heroine to have her stuff together and the hero to be the messy one. I won’t go into details, but he went into full-on tripping mode, which really tried my patience. Maggie’s response only enhanced my respect and appreciation for her character. These two really are made for each other in all the ways.
Narrator Sokolov nicely voices the characters for this novel, male and female, from different regions of the country, using different accents, dialects, pitches, and tones, capturing their quirks, emotions, and personalities with ease. She brings this story brilliantly to life.
Romance readers looking for a spicy, hilarious, erotic romance with a sweet, emotional love story that will reaffirm their belief in happily-ever-afters should give this engaging audiobook a listen.

Reggie is a firefighter who happens to meet a precocious little girl while doing a talk at the local library. Fast forward a day or two and he is on the scene when her mom is clipped by a car trying to save a dog. Reggie cannot get Maggie, the mom, out of his mind so he goes to visit her at the hospital. From there, the two dance around each other trying to get to know the other and while trying not to get too deep too fast with the little girl involved. Opinion Holy hot mess batman! This book is absolutely fabulous. I went in and was expecting a sweet character out of Maggie but boy did she turn vixen when the scenes got hot. Listening to the audiobook version, the narrator portrayed the sweetest little voice possible for the mom but then BAM! I was completely shocked by the words coming out of her mouth. It was so good. I totally did not see that coming. I have to say that my favorite part was the running joke of the daughter. She, in all innocence, asked a question way too advanced for her little ears. That question kept coming up over and over again. It was perfect. This book is part of a series but the first one I have read. I had no problems following along. I will be going back and putting the first two on my TBR (which is massive at this point.) I've definitely found a new author to follow. Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook.
Perfect name for an awesome book. This one steams off the page! These two people can't keep their hands off each other and are insatiable! It's has a HOT charming firefighter EMT, a strong independent woman with the most darling and really smart child. I couldn't stop reading this book! This brotherhood of firefighters is so awesome, I'm going to cry when it ends with Mack's book next. The wonderful thing about Marie's stories is we really don't say goodbye with her interconnected communities. Marie is always a delightful writer but she pulled out all the stops with this one! It's just awful her publisher is ignoring it.
Reggie Morgan is a super charming firefighter who's perfectly equipped for his job. He's a protector and a helper to the bone. He spends his life helping people on and off the job. He meets little precocious 6 year old Emily at a library event where she grilled him about his job. He meets her again when her mother was hit by a car rescuing an injured dog in the street. This begins the most delightful relationship where Reggie tries hard not to fall for the mother-daughter duo. The story was a delight to watch develop! Their chemistry is off the charts. His friends are really protective as is her gay neighbors Doug & Benny. These characters are so well written you are transported right into their story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I am loving this series, and this book was even better than I expected it to be. It was sexy and funny and completely engrossing. Reggie has been grumpy through the series because his heart was broken. He is finally ready to meet someone new, and she is absolutely perfect for him. Maggie is not only a strong woman, but she is also a hilarious woman. She and Reggie have the best time teasing each other, and I was laughing along with them. Their chemistry as a couple is incredibly hot and sexy, but it is also just as bright when they are giving each other a hard time. Add in Emily, Maggie's daughter, and I was laughing so hard. Emily reminded me very much of one of my sons who was entirely too smart for my own good; her character was spot on and highly entertaining. I thought that I knew what issue would present a challenge for this new relationship, but I had it backwards. I was surprised when the challenge came, but I was impressed with the way Maggie handled herself. I was also happy that the situation was not resolved with only an apology but a recognition that true growth and change take time. That makes me believe that this relationship will stand the test of time and be good for both partners. I have no idea how Mack's book will top this one, but I can't wait to find out!
I don't suggest the audiobook. Don't need to read the others in the series to understand this book. However it's still kind of bland but I think that's the writers style keeping me from enjoying this story more. The perspectives and their thoughts need more clearer distinction. Sometimes we'll bounce from one person's thoughts to the next in the same paragraph and it feels disorienting. I liked Emily she seemed believable child like not a super genius and not a complete baby either. Personally I do think the love felt a bit rushed and kind of hollow. It all feels superficial and quick. I think they were kind of one dimensional characters a lot of time. Reggie is a caregiver with few nerdy things sprinkled in. Maggie was one note in she felt just there. Like Emily kind of gave her personality and outside of that she was just opposite of Amy. Almost comically opposites, independence isn't such a slippery slope that if he pays for lunch then you're dependent. I wish we got to see more of Maggie in the two weeks away from Emily.
Overall it's okay nothing memorable if you read a ton of romance.
Really enjoyed this story. Great to be back with this crew of studly firefighters/EMT’s. We get some pleasant time with the rest of the crew, met some interesting new people but the story nicely focused on Maggie and Reggie. Found the heroine Maggie and her six year old daughter Emily delightful as a mother daughter duo. Maggie for her honesty and strength, Emily for her outrageous intelligence and for making me laugh. Baby seeds indeed. I did love Reggie and his big, open, bruised and soft heart. I just wish he had been able to be more proactive in regards to the manipulative bludger ex-girlfriend at the end. Yes, he was in the process of telling her to leave but unfortunately Maggie stepped in and dealt with her before he did. This left me with the nagging feeling that Reggie was not going to be strong enough to kick her out and therefore he was not emphatically committed enough to make me believe that Maggie was his world. All ends well but unfortunately I just had that nagging doubt left. This is my honest review of this book.
Reggie is a rescuer…from his job as a fireman and in his personal life. Damsel in distress? Underdog? He’s there!
Maggie has struck out on her own, along with her daughter, Emily. She’s built a strong support group in the form of (hilarious and caring) neighbors and moms of Emily’s friends. She’s also a second grade school teacher so she knows how think quickly on her feet!
When Reggie is called to the scene of a hit-and-run, finding a scared Emily and injured Maggie, his protective instincts kick in. But…isn’t this a road he has been down before, rescuing someone with a young child, and is he going to go down that road again? His family has seen it, his friends…has he learned from his past mistakes?
But Maggie is no damsel in distress…she’s a very capable mom and teacher!
There’s a lot of fun, humor and joy in this story with a lot of it attributed to the supporting characters: Emily, the neighbors, Benny and Doug, the fire station crew on Reggie’s team, Reggie’s family and…well, you’ve got a great cast of characters that keep you engaged throughout the story!
I enjoyed Reggie and Maggie's story. I thought that Emily was adorable the way she brought the oddest things into conversation and completely stumped the adults at times and crack up laughing in others. The chemistry between the two characters was sizzling. Reggie was very patient with Emily, he was happy to answer all of her questions, and Maggie's next door neighbors were there any time she needed them. Reggie gets involved with Maggie after she gets hit by a car while saving a puppy. He checks on her at the hospital and makes sure she doesn't need anything. Which is sweet!
I loved that Reggie met his match and always kept him on his toes. I kept flipping pages wanting to read faster to find out what happens next. These characters are such well written they are easy to love. I love how all the guys get along, they're more than colleagues they are brothers and it is obvious in the way that they take up for one another but still rib them about things. Another great book in this series.
Received ARC in exchange for voluntary honest review
Reggie is a caretaker and giver at heart. He is a great firefighter and EMT and he is doing what he loves it fits him perfectly. Being such a great caretaker and giver means people will take advantage. He was taken advantage of. His friends and family saw it but he couldn’t, he saw only the good in someone as they were taking and using him.
Maggie is a single mom trying to raise an assertive, demanding ninja princess. She needs someone for her not just a dad for Emily, that she has. But some one that gets Maggie and all her quirks and someone that doesn’t want to be walked over. She wants a partner.
Emily is just a wonderful inquisitive little girl. Seriously she is looking for a man to plant magic beans. This girl is just amazing she knows what she wants and she makes plans and goes for it.
Reggie and Maggie are explosive. Reading the story you get scorched from the heat.
This is another first time read of the writer for me. (it also fit a challenge category) It's the middle of a series but I wasn't lost b/c I hadn't read the previous books. I must say that I was surprised that I couldn't put it down. (literally, I was walking the hallways of the building I was in while reading) It was an engaging story with charismatic characters. The dialogue was good and felt realistic. There really isn't a lot happening in the story as it's more about the developing & growing relationship b/w Reggie & Maggie. Emily is adorable!! I'm a sucker for a cute kid & pet. 😁 The reason I didn't give it a higher rating is that I have 2 negatives. It was too long which caused the narrative to lag a bit. Also, it was steamy (and that's not really my cup of tea)
Otherwise, since I did just quickly grab it off the library shelf, I was pleasantly surprised by my enjoyment of the story. I will probably read the rest of the series.
This audiobook was a sweet sexy romance about a cute girl, Emily, her single mom, Maggie, and firefighter Reggie Morgan. Reggie’s past has left him uninterested in pursuing love again, but what happens when he answers a call of a hit and run? A call where he assists Emily, and unconscious Morgan. From that moment on feelings and a relationship develops. Will they be able to overcome the past hurts and find their HEA, or will the past keep them apart? If like me you have not listen/read the previous stories in the series, do not worry. It is definitely a stand alone. I would like to add that the narrator, Tatiana Sokolove, did a very good job with the various characters , male and female, voices. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Dreamscape Media. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Firefighter Reggie Morgan is a truly nice guy that can be a pushover when it comes to damsels in distress. His need to be needed takes over more often than not and when he's called to assist at an accident site and finds the little girl who stomped him with questions at his latest school appearance, he knows he is in trouble. Maggie isn't looking for love, but the hunky firefighter her daughter and unexpected new pet keep calling over makes her reconsider her plans. Together Reggie and Maggie can set the world on fire, but will they survive their pasts and Reggie's relentless nice guy tendencies? For me, Maggie's little girl totally steals the show. She is smart, opinionated and so funny she makes this romance a laugh-out-loud comedy. Besides that, the whole fire-fighting squad deserves props for their antics and good humor.
Hot for You by Marie Harte is the third in her Turn Up the Heat firefighters series. Set in Seattle, it follows several of the crew of station 44. Hot for You is Reggie Morgan’s story. Determined to keep things light, Reggie doesn’t expect to be won over by an equally determined and curious six year old named Emily or her lovely mom, Maggie Swanson.
Marie Harte’s story is a terrific contemporary with warm and likable people in Maggie and Reggie, and strong secondary characters in their families and friends. Reggie’s a giver and he’s been taken advantage of before. Maggie’s history also makes her somewhat cautious, since she’s keeping Emily’s needs front and center.
Hot for You gives readers emotion and passion and laughter and heart. It stands well alone but readers will likely want to go back and enjoy Brad and Tex’s stories, and look forward to Mack’s!
I picked this off the library new book shelf because there’s a hot firefighter on the cover and Marie Hart is a reliable candy romance. Like a Hershey bar or Swedish Fish, it’s not the BEST candy, but I’m not going to turn it down.
I gotta problem though. They TALK about protection before having sex. She’s on the pill. But both claim to be “clean” (what does that even mean?). He brings condoms to the big date, they use ONE, then both agree the same night they don’t want to use condoms. I know Maggie lives in Seattle, where we can still get the morning after pill or an abortion, but it’s 2022, do not fuck around and find out. No one is clean unless you see the doctors report from last week.
Firefighter Reggie Morgan is done with love, done with relationships, and done with complications. But when he's called to the scene of a hit-and-run, he finds a scared little girl, a butt-ugly stray puppy, and an unconscious woman he can't get out of his mind. The girl and the puppy are a handful, but the girl's mother, Maggie, might just be the woman to melt Reggie's icy heart. Reggie has loved and lost before and the pain nearly broke him. But they can't ignore their unquenchable desire for each other, and Maggie is confident she can show Reggie all about falling—and staying—in love. [amazon synopsis]
Emily was a cutie, but the description said nothing about LOTS of descriptive sex. Hard to finish.
Reggie is charming, sweet with a little gruffness and a totally hot fireman. Nursing a broken heart, Reggie is trying to set down roots for a future family. His interest in Maggie is immediate but he has reservations. Maggie is simply just an amazing, strong mother to her daughter, who honestly was a star of the show. Emily is a hilarious, creative genius. Everyone should have a bear-princess-assassin!! When Reggie and Maggie come together, their chemistry is off the charts. Will Maggie and Reggie take the leap at their second chance at love?? Emily certainly has an opinion and you need to hear it!
I received the audiobook ARC of this book through NetGalley. I really enjoyed the storyline and I think you can never go wrong with a hot firefighter romance! I loved a perfect male love interest as much as the next person, but I really enjoyed that in this story the single mom had it together and knew what she was looking for and the love interest was still working on his habit of finding fulfillment in being needed. The only aspect I didn't love was the spicy scenes, but I can be a little picky about how spice is written and I found it a bit awkward.
This listen will have you hooked till the end. Hero is Reggae. Heroine is Maggie. Love how Marie Harte wrote a hero who loves to help people and the heroine who slowly falls for him . Slowly Reggae let’s his past take over his present, he just doesn’t know how to say NO . His ex knows that her little girl will pay the way for him to take advantage. How and when does Maggie put her foot down .
Tanya Ebay performance is and walkways is fantastic . Her voice is smooth and strong expecially her male voice
3.5🌟stars The plot of this story was good and little Emily with her energy and curiosity was a major draw. I liked the complications that creep into the romance between single mom Maggie and firefighter Reggie late in the story. On the whole, though, it was a bit long and repetitive and, for me, the steamy scenes were too long and overwhelmed the romance. If the passionate clinches are what you are looking for, you will find plenty here.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
