This book has been prepared for the beginner, especially those students studying at a “madrasah” . Many Arabic terminologies have been maintained with the translation in the bracket. Footnotes provide assistance for teacher in explaining the text. The students are required to be familiar with the text of Safīnat al-najāʾ. It is better if the students can memorize the Arabic text so that they gain acquaintance with the jurisprudence or at least be able to read it fluently.
Every effort was made to present a precise and accurate translation with proper explanations. The explanations were mostly derived from “ Kāshifat al-sajāʾ sharh Safīnat al-najā ʾ”, “ Umdatus Salik -  Reliance of the Traveller ” and “ al-Iqnāʿ fī halli alfāẓi matn Abī Shujā ʿ”.
The additional chapter of Ḥajj and ʿUmrah was taken from the “ Al-Fiqh al-manhaji ʿalā madhhab al-Imām al-Shāfiʿī, ” and “ Reliance of the Traveller” .The measurements and conversions were based on the book, “ al-Maqādīr al-sharʿiyyah ” by Dr. Najm al-dīn al-Kurdī. The biographical notes were taken from the book, “ Reliance of the Traveller” .

والكتاب ليس بالكبير بل يركز على أهم مسائل العبادات ولا يضبطها نظراً لصغر الكتاب وكونه للمبتدئين
الكتاب في قسم العبادات فقط

المتن من أشهر متون الشافعية المعاصرين، جمع فيه الشيخ سالم بن سُمَير الحضرمي رحمه الله تعالى، مقدمة في أصول الدين، ثم كتاب الطهارة والصلاة والزكاة، ثم أكمل الشيخ محمد بن نووي الجاوي رحمه الله كتاب الصيام، ثم أتم الشيخ محمد علي باعطية كتاب الحج ليكمل العبادات.

والمتن يمتاز بحسن السبك ووضوح العبارة، وقد كان يدرس للطلبة في الصف الأول الابتدائي في تريم ليحفظوه، ولكنه يحتاج الآن ليشرح للمبتدي.

ومن أشهر شروحه شرح العلامة أحمد بن عمر الشاطري نيل الرجا، إلا إنه شرح مختصر يفك العبارة ويوضح المقصود فقط.
وشرح الشيخ محمد نووي جاوي كاشفة السجا وهو أوسع وأبسط من سابقه والله أعلم.

Great book on fiqh according to the Shafi’i madhab. I didn’t read this specific translation though, I read the one provided by Ustadha Umm Salamah. I learned so much, and have already started implementing things into my life.

Concise short and easy. But not too detailed so can lead to questions.

Good to supplmenet with al-Maqasid and Matn Abi Shuja, and most importantly a teacher.
