This guy was the ultimate authority on Van Gogh. He came to study VVG as a grad student, and got into him while all the place were still there and all the people VVG knew and painted were still alive.
This is an impressive book. Big, nicely illustrated, and pricy at$75 in 1969 dollars. Tralbaut was not the best writer though. The early part is bogged down with pop-psychoanalysis. The middle bit is quite more interesting.
