Fire and Water join the rebellion.

Sophia

We’ve found all four pieces of the prophecy, but it’s already too late. The prophecy has come true, and we’ve been forced to flee our home. The Elders are hunting us down, and there’s nowhere to run.

But we can’t just abandon our people. Returning to Kinpago proves more difficult than we thought, but this time, we’re coming back with an army. I’m ready to lay my life down for the tribe...

Until an unexpected discovery changes everything.

Liam

In the midst of war, Sophia and I are ready to take our vows. But getting married in the middle of genocide isn’t just dangerous, it’s deadly. My friends and I have allied ourselves with an underground group of elementals. To survive, we must unify the Hawkei into one tribe.

My people need someone to follow. I must take my place as the leader I was always meant to be, and make amends with the ancestors if we’re going to survive.

But Sophia isn’t the only one I need to protect. A new beginning is on its way, and once it arrives, nothing will ever be the same.

This series is a fever dream - but I am all here for it. I still hate Liam, and the story is super predictable, but I’m nonetheless entertained. I figured out the four main plot twists very much in advance, but that makes it funny to see how stupid the characters are. 😅💅🏻✨

** spoilers!! Hanna look away😡**

The plot twists are so obvious!! Like
«Oh no I have been feeling nauseous every morning, and super hormonal, and my period is late!! Let’s just not think about it for a few months!»

«Madam Doya and Bane are dancing together? And Doya is super protective over Sophia for some unknown reason, and sneaks into their wedding for no reason? Hmm I wonder who Sophia’s real parents are!!»

«Oh no there is a drug problem, and this drug makes people’s powers weaken and makes people irritable! Oh no Imiden’s magic is weaker and she is yelling at everyone!! I don’t understand why she behaves this way!!»

6 out of 5-star review!
This book was fantastic. Jaw-dropping, "say whaaat?" moments.
This is book 5 of the series and the storyline became so much more intense as our beloved group of friends have to fight for what they believe in. Secrets are revealed that will have you gasping out loud! The book ends in a cliffhanger that had me almost throwing my kindle!
The writing of both authors has your emotions running wild and had me remembering scenes days after I had finished the book.

When Liam heard, everything changed, what he felt is indescribable!!! The passion, emotions and feelings were everything!!! HE IS GOING TO BE AN AMAZING DAD!!!
His own dad knew and he sacrificed himself for them!! 'Take care of your new family' his last words were!!
When news arrived EVERYONE WENT CRAZY WITH HAPPINESS TOO!!
Julian showed them the gender by creating a fireshield around sophia - IT'S A GIRL!!! she will be named Ava Marie!!! PERFECT!!!
Liam is scared he will pass his disease, stevie is the one to convince and help him by telling her life is just as worthy if she is sick and they will deal with it!!!
THE BIG WAY HAS ARRIVED, SOPHIA AND LIAM ARE GETTING MARRIED!!
Soohia went to a ritual: the woman washed her hair and gave her blessings grkm the Great Spirit, IT WAS SOO WONDERFUL AND PRECIOUS
BUT first Everthing went wrong: rain, no venue, Imogens dress ripped, no rings, no food, no cake and shoes didn't fit, Sophia lost it!! Jonah calmed her down by telling her nothing else matters except marrying her true love liam!!! Love jonah!!
The wedding was the most beautiful event ever!!! Imogen and jonah fixed everything and it was soo enchanting, magical and wonderful Their vows... omg speechless, I could feel all the love and my heart just soars and bursted out of me!! Imogen was maid of honor and Jonah best man, Sophia's parents gave her away and when she saw Liam... nothing else mattered THIS IS LOVE!! THEY BELONG TOGETHER imgen/cade made beautiful song and Jonah held a beautiful speech. She trew the wedding bouket AND JONAH CATHED IT!!! they are sooo adorable together!!! THEY NEED TO MARRY TOO!!!
Everything was magical and perfect!!
Until... imogen fought with cade again... she almost ruined the wedding with her jealousy and hurtful words...
Julian took the newlyweds away for their honeymoon night!!
one moment Sophia is summoned by the anichi Council. Imogen is wondering if it's about her biological parents. She searches her room and finds the old photograph from the scrapbook. THEY DISCOVERED WHO THE MOTHER IS: IT IS FREAKING DOYA!!! WHAT THE HELL!! I CAN'T WRAP MY MIND AROUD IT, IT'S JUST CRAZY BUT AT THE SAME TIME MAKES SOO MUCH SENSE!!!
Doya has sacrificed EVERYTHING FOR SOPHIA!!!
she has herself arrested and was at the wedding in secret!!! Sophia finds her in the cell and doya tells her she is indeed HER MOTHER!!! Sophia completely LOST IT!!! Went FURIOUS!! Doya remains emotionless and later tells liam that she is scared what it will do if liam leaves her BY DYING OF HIS ILLNESS!! And that he will leave her baby just like baine (though he didn't know anything) at last Doya almost beggs her and liam to read her journal: in it she wrote about her relationship WITH ELLIOT BAINE!!!! OMG HE IS THE FATHER I AM SCREAMING!! WATER AND FIRE REPEAT HISTORY!! THAT'S WHY THEY WERE SO AGAINST THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND WHY DOYA SAVED THEM AT THE TRIAL!!! SHE THINKS LIAM WILL BE THE SAME AS BAINE!! Baine broke up with her AFTER sex, he was scared of the elders while Doya didn't care about the danger!! JUST LIKE LIAM AND SOPHIA!! SHE GETS HER FURY AND DETERMINATION FROM DOYA!!! she ran away and after 4 months found out she is pregnant, her mother had died!! On the run, she gave birth al alone and in the forest!! she tried to smolther the baby for she would be killed by the elders!! After this tremendous event she bonded with Noami (they both protect their own) and she asked the sophia's so thought grandparents to take her. But lucy (her so thought mother) DIED BY GIVING BIRTH!! DOYA LOST HER BEST FRIEND TOO!! the grandparents agree to help her and Doya became bitter and hateful after giving Sophia away!!!
Liam is the one to convince Sophia to give doya a chance for he will be a parent too and can understand her actions and they would have done the same!! I love him even more for it!! Sophia asked why she wouldn't kill her daughter for she is interhouse, BECAUSE DOYA IS AN INTERHIUSE CHILD HERSELF!! HER FATHER WAS ANICHI and her mother koigni!!! THAT'S WHY SOPHIA HAS ANICHI, KOIGNI AND TOAQUA BLOOD!! THESE PLOTTWISTS ARE INSANE!!
The coucnil has given Perot thd power to decide her sentence, sophia realised she wanted to save doya no matter what. She and baine convinced him and he pardoned her after an apology and knowing Alric didn't want more death. Baine and Doya reunite and it is both awkward and endearing, after 20 years they still only love each other!!
Sophia is glad to have Baine her mentor and father figure as her real dad. Baine is awkward and shy but feels the same way and asks her to call him pataa aka dad i. Hawkei!!
-one event, imogen's behaviour is unforgivable and they are all just done. They discovered IMOGEN IS USING BLACK IVY THE DRUG!!! THE WHILE FREAKING TIME!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T FIGURED IT OUT SOONER!!! SOOO EMOTIONAL AND SAD!!! after EXPLODING they give imogen rest and are planning an intervention. They tell her they will go everything to help/save her but only if she is willing to get help. She doesn't care about living anymore and hates everything, everyone and mostly her self.... they tell her they will cut her out of their lives for they can't have an addition in the baby's and their lives... at last Cade is the one to get through her. He tells her he loves her and will go to the end of the earth for her if she gets help. She will, for him, her friends and her self!!!
After, doya baine and Sophia work on bonding and adjusting. But THE FREAKING TASK FORCE HAVE ARRIVED ON FREAKING CHRISTMAS EVE SOPHIA'S DUE DATE!! THE WORST POSSIBLE MOMENT OMFG!!! The moment Liam and Jake strategize SOPHIA IS IN LABOR!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!
The resistance fight with all their might, but elders Malision (Who is the worst) and Poole arrived WITH THEIR FAMILIARS KRAKEN AND SERPENTMONSTER AND A SEAWORM the resistance was on the winning hand UNTIL THAT!!! THEY DON'T STAND A CHANCE!!! Liam puts his own teaching to use, he is going to use transfer the monsters power into himself and julian who is now a grown dragon!!! HE LITERALLY SUCKS ALL THEIR MAGIC AND BECOMES SO POWERFUL EVEN THE OCEAN SEEMS SMALL!! He creates a monstrous wave and water Hurricane!!! HE IS A GOD!!! IT DEVOURED THE MONSTERS AND THE ELDERS!!!
but IT TOOK EVERYTHING AND LIAM SINKS TO THE BOTTUM OF THE OCEAN!!! HE IS GOING TO DIE WITHOUT KNOWING HIS DAUGHTER!!!! I SCREAMED AND CRIED!!!
Sophia is in labor and it is absolute HELL!!! HER INFERNO WAS BURING AVA MARIE!!! OMG IF SHE IS GOING TO DIE I AM DONE!!!
Sophia begged Luana to take her life to save her daughter!! Esis was so worried he healed her BUT IT MADE LABOR WORSE!! SHE WENT UPSIDE DOWN!!!
Sophia DIED!!! Her anchesters (among Viola, Doya's mother) came to TAKE HER TO THE ANCESTORS LAND!!! but she heard her bay girl cry and FOUGHT TO LIVE!!! She runs to her and WAKES UP!!!
The moment she held Ava Marie is indescribable!!! There are no words for those feelings...
imogen, luana, mother Liam Haluke and Doya were there!!! Doya and Sophia share a beautiful moment when doya held her!!!
Ezra has saved liam and they have won the war!!!! After his magical powers the task force bailed!!!!he immediately goes to siphia to check on her and laid eyes on Ava marie... again indescribable.... she is a miracle!!! No words!!! This love... she looks just like him!!!
Everyone is over the moon, doya tells liam he is and will be a great dad!!

The Elemental War is an intense, emotional, and deeply satisfying continuation of the series. Things truly ramp up in this book, and while it still has the magic school setting I love, the story expands far beyond those walls in a way that feels natural and earned. The balance between familiar comforts—like training, friendships, and elemental magic—and the rising tension of larger threats makes this one of the most gripping entries so far.

What really stood out to me was how much the characters have grown. The dual POV remains a highlight, offering insight into both characters’ struggles and strengths. I continue to love how the male main character’s disability is portrayed—it’s an important part of who he is, but never defines him. Instead, his resilience and perspective make his role even more compelling as the stakes rise.

There’s more action, more emotion, and a sense that everything the characters have been working toward is finally coming to a head. Despite the heavier moments, the story never loses the magic that made the earlier books so fun—the elemental powers, the magical creatures, the sense of wonder. The Elemental War delivers on the buildup and leaves you excited (and maybe a little nervous) for what’s coming in the finale.

send the men to war and let the women birth!

No but fr this was good. finally they got tired of holocaust and joined the rebellion.
the whole book was pretty much driven by the fact that she was pregnant, which is fine you go girl, have fun with that.

i LOVED the rebellion and how it was like a whole secret society. with a whole new crew of sexy characters?? I'm in. Jonah deserved a sexy military man with standards.

I also like how they treated drugs in this one, how Imogen turned to drugs when she felt like she was abounded and not good enough, kind of a slay.

I am still a little shocked that bane is her dad. I knew Doya ofc that was obvious. BUT BANE? shit.

this book series is just getting better and better. I loooove the war in this.

it was predictable and sometimes I cringed so hard I had to stop and touch grass but otherwise this was amazing.

Things are changing for Sophia, Liam and the rest of the gang as they are forced to leave their home and began anew. The gang finds a new home and building a new life for themselves as much as they can with the Task Force hot on their trail as they prepare for the war that is coming sooner rather than later.

The Elemental War had me in tears on more than one occasion and on others it had me rolling with laughter. The characters can be so funny at times, but then there are times when you just want to give them a hard shake.

The Elemental War grabbed me by the heart and just kept on squeezing. I felt for all of the characters at one time or another with all the things they had been through or was experiencing it tore my heart to pieces.

The Elemental War touched on so many different topics and experiences with each of the characters. I felt so bad for Imogen with what she was going through and I kept wondering about the wrench that was thrown in her life to cause her to do what she did. My heart just broke for her.

There were some good in the story too, but I am not going to say it's balanced out as I am still pondering on what Liam said about the world not being black or white that everything doesn’t always balance out. It’s like good vs evil or light vs dark. Life doesn’t always balance out or even out; that we all have a little of both in us of good and evil we just chose which one we are going to feed the most. Each and every book of the Hidden Legends: Academy of Magical Creatures that Megan Linski and Alicia Rades have written just seems to get better and better.

The characters just keep growing and becoming stronger with each book and the world building becomes more awesome and exciting.

The Elemental War just never lets up on the excitement and the action it just keeps rolling on out with each turn of the page revealing more and more. It is one big tearjerker with all the falls that leaps off the page right into your heart. I can’t wait to read more of their adventures in the next and last book The Soul Sacrifice coming soon.

I definitely recommend The Elemental War plus the first four books in the Hidden Legends: Academy of Magical Creatures to all fans of magic, great world building, great characters, and the best sort of familiars around not to mention a whole lot of love with non-stop action with each turn of the page. One click, your copy today to begin this magical adventure.

Elemental War starts out with a scary dream and a car chase with the Rejects running from the Task Force. This whole book is fast paced and has so much emotion through out its entirety. Even with all the tension of running from those who want them gone Sophie Liam Imogene and Jonah find time to have fun. I loved the way the Elemental War characters go through inner and outer healing

Other scenes had my heart clenching in turmoil because they were so sad and even more had me jumping up and down in my seat with joy. I love Squeaks the Familiars sure did take the show.
Jonah gets someone special also yay.
I really liked the way Alicia and Megan made Imogene vulnerable in Elemental War she is usually upbeat and happy and helping her friends that I think she needed this growth.

That Bachelor and Bachelorette day and party was interesting and so much fun to read. and the Wedding what Chaos lol. Those Vows were amazing. Imogene's gift to Liam was my favorite I was crying when I read that part. I was shocked with some revelations and I just loved Luana I really want more of her character. and that Ending just Perfect. All in All a great penultimate to a series

Merry Christmas

Adult content, reader discretion advised. Liam and Sophia always seem to be in the middle of drama. And dragging their friends and family with them. Now it’s war and they drag a peaceful community to war and family out through themselves. Friendships are tested in this book and family is fought for. The truth may set you free but it hurts! Jonah and Imogen both get caught by the shrapnel of this life. Though they handle it so very differently.

Good

Good series. Not perfectly written, but these books are definitely getting better. I am very uncomfortable about some things, but when I get past it, the story is progressing very well. The characters are growing, and they have always been pretty well fleshed out. The familiars are some of the best parts. Wondering when Esis will start communicating with Sophia. Now for the hardest part, waiting for the next, and sadly, last book of the series.

This is the longest book in the series thus far and it is EPIC! Every time I think Megan Linski and Alicia Rades cannot astonish me more, they throw this at us and I am still reeling. We have action, twists and turns, crazy/sad/romantic moments, on top of reaching this underlining theme that has been building since book 1. And they aren't done yet! I am so excited for book 6 and to see where everything is going to lead to. All in all, it's hard to pick a favorite in this series, but I think book 5 has to be it. And the cover is gorgeous!

The Elemental War (Hidden Legends: Academy of Magical Creatures Book 5) is purely magical. I absolutely love this novel, a perfect addition to this fantasy series. Unexpected plot twists, familiars are my favourite, and I love the characters. Creatively composed with well detailed world building descriptions and settings. Absolute page turner that will tug at every emotion. As highly addictive and entertaining magical creatures adventure. I'm looking forward to reading the final book in the series.

The Elemental war is the fifth book in the Academy of Magical creatures serie by Megan Linski and Alicia Rades. I have really loved it and could barely put it down made me laugh and in tears at some time.

The four pieces of the prophecy have been found but too late. The prophecy has already come true. The Elders has send the task force to hunt down Sophia and her friends and they had no choice put to flee Kinpago. But they can't go into hidding forever and must find a way to fight back.

Liam's people the Toaqua need someone to follow after having lost their chief. And he need to take the role as a leader.

As the world of the Elementai are cast into a war, Sophia and Liam are in preparation of taking their vows and an event they won't see coming will change everything...

I have received an arc of this book from the authors.

Love love loved this book!! This was definitely the most drama filled one of the series to far!! Im has her own internal struggle that goes for majority of the book. Jonah finds where he belongs while Sophia and Liam deal with huge problems in war while preparing for their wedding. We see Doya and Blaine again and Sophia learns about her Anichi powers! This book is definitely a mature one because it does take about drug issues, war, and drama that the other books didn’t really touch on so for this I don’t think it would be appropriate for a school activity but for high schoolers it could be recommended for an independent reading when they’ve finished their work or are wanting to read something more challenging.

This book was lighter than the one before. There were more giggle-worthy moments, and the questions from previous books have answers. The three plot reveals were more of a “ha! Called it!” moment then coming at any kind of shock.

I just borrowed the last book. If the dialogue tags follow every time someone speaks in this next one, I won’t be reading any other books in this universe. Hearing “he said” or “she said” followed by [adverb] (usually kindly) was getting annoying.

The Elemental War (Hidden Legends: Academy of Magical Creatures Book 5) ~~ This book is explosive — battles, sacrifice, heartbreak, and power on a whole new level. The war hits full force here, and the cost is brutal. There were multiple points where I had to stop and breathe because the emotional weight was so heavy. The character growth is enormous in this one, and I loved watching each person step into who they were meant to be.

There’s a sacrifice in this book that shredded me completely. I was yelling at the audio like it would change something. The grief, the rage, the determination — all of it felt real enough to touch.

The Audible version absolutely delivered. The battles sounded massive and the emotion in the quiet scenes destroyed me. And switching between Kindle and Audible was effortless like always.

I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself — you won’t regret it.

In this book our 4 main characters are on the run following the battle of Orrenda. Imogene had the foresight to purchase a house with her winnings... So our fab 4 fight their way there and hang tight for a few months to heal and lick their wounds. Sophia is not handling things well. But, eventually they are found and barely escape... After a mad dash back toward the caves they are found and taken to the resistance hideout complete with love Anachi members. (Shocker) anyhow... Sophia finds out that she is Prego and life is jolly but Imogene is all over the place emotionally. (Somehow all these idiots don't put together she's using drugs?!! 🤔🤔🤔) Whatever... The end is another battle but definitely not the final battle of yet. Cuz certainly there's another piece to the prophecy??? Sigh... I'll continue on... I guess. But I'm feeling about done.

I'm still enjoying this series. In the last book, we learned that Sofia's grandparents were not really her grandparents. In this book we learn that Sofia's parents aren't her real parents. Quite a downer considering the naked rituals performed by her mother and mother-in-law before her wedding. The dude who you just found who you thought was your dad and walked you down the aisle, is not your dad. I hope in the next book we don't learn that these "new parents" aren't really her parents. Still enjoying Jonah and Squeeks. Imogen had a stick up her butt for most of this book. Hope she works out her emotions with Cade. I like the new character who signs and helps heal. (I listened to this so I don't know how to spell her name)

An awesome. new adult & college romantic fantasy. Sophia, Liam, Imogen, and Jonas start this title on the run from the dictatorial leaders of the Hawkei. To survive, they align themselves with an underground resistance including elementals from all the houses.

This story covers many intriguing and surprising topics. The manner in which it does is, ultimately, uplifting. However, along the way, several distressing and distracting events occur. Nonetheless, the end is emotionally fulfilling.

Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

Another exciting tale in the Hidden Legends series. There were a lot of ups and downs in this book for me. The way everyone was oblivious to what was happening with Imogen frustrated me to no end, but so did how she treated Sophia’s new friends. I was upset that Jonah finally got a good man but we lacked a good POV seeing how they interacted together. There was also a gap between the Anachie learning transference and small powers to them being able to master a huge shield in the war; also, they said in the war they lost hundreds but that was a “small amount”, so how many people actually live in the resistance compound?? Just a few points I questioned. Overall, it was nice to see Sophia and Liam get their wish of a family and see others meet their significant others as well.

Sophia and friends are on the run. Both Sophia and Liam are back to not dealing with things appropriately, but I guess everyone deals with trauma in different ways and not all of them are healthy.

Again, there’s a lot more plot in this book. Sophia and Liam have found the Resistance, in a way that feels very reminiscent of The Hunger Games. There’s more power exploration and a plot to save the children.

Seriously. If you think putting kids in cages is an acceptable or good idea, you are not a good person.

Liam, Sophia and Jonah start to really come into their own, while there are strong hints as to why Imogen is declining, which the main characters don’t pick up on.

Sophia and Liam

Sophia and Liam join the Resistance in the caves. There Cade, Trace and many others that had ' died ' in the trials are alive and well. There are also Anichi, and Sophia learns more about her Anichi powers. Sophia finally realized she's pregnant, so they move the wedding up. Madam Doya is seen in the forest at the wedding, then later turns herself in. She is Sophias' Mother, and Baine her Father. The Task Force attacks the Resistance hideout, but Liam takes out the big bad boys. Sophia has a difficult labour, but delivers Ava-Marie breech.

Good storyline but it seems to have dragged on forever. I would have given it a 3.5 but I decided to round up rather than down.

The war is upon us in this book, you deal with Oleander’s bull crap and you lose someone very dear. I’ve cried and laughed in this book clear signs of a talented author.

I enjoyed this part of the story, but I feel like a lot of things have been absolutely obvious, yet no one seemed to catch on. The parents angle was predictable, but I was somewhat surprised by the father. In hindsight, this was an obvious choice as well, but I didn’t catch it in the previous books. 5 stars and so much drama.

Sophia, Liam, Imogem and Jonah started an entire new chapter of their lives. It’s time to strengthen their friendship, to face their inner demons, to make new discoveries and to be ready for what the future brings. All of it beautifully written, bringing a whirlwind of emotions.

Great story

I’ve enjoyed so the stories up until now. After reading the last book, I was a bit annoyed with Sophia but this story, she matured so it wasn’t so frustrating. I can’t wait to talk the final book

The battle scenes are a bit chaotic and some of the down time they have it a but annoying but I love the movement in the story as well as the verification that I knew exactly who Sophia’s parents were.
