Overall, the book was a quick read with some general information that can help someone navigating self-esteem issues. Be prepared that the novel is not going to nuanced about people's experiences and comes off a bit shallow and privileged.
Pros:
-I related to some of the stories used at the beginning of the chapters.
-There were tangible steps/tips included.
-Some of the advice was helpful as I navigate rediscovering myself and improving my self-esteem.
Cons:
- She mentions her experience as a model a lot, which gets a bit repetitive after a while.
- There seems to be an issue with introverts in the book. I find it slightly odd because we highlight the issues introverts have with self-esteem but not how it impacts extroverts as well (responsibility chapter)
- The replace chapter has a part where she talks about a common denominator with some women being their big noses. It was just a bit wild to me to read that.
-She advocates for life coaches but never mentions the importance of seeing a therapist for some of the thing. She mentions trauma/abuse and never mentions how seeking counseling could be important.
-The entire section where she discusses money is tone deaf.

My biggest gripe with this book is that it automatically assumes all of your self esteem issues stem from how you look...it doesn't really consider that you might have low self esteem due to feeling stupid, or that you lack charisma others have....or whatever else. It's like reading a book about how to fix your car that is running rough...and all they do is talk about cosmetic things that make you feel good standing next to your car...but don't dare ask me to start it...it runs like hell and I have no idea how to get it fixed...but look how shiny the paint is!
