An ideal introduction, this manual details the craft of making metal jewelry by pairing expert guidance with clear, explicit photographs. Beginning with the basic tools and skills necessary to master before complex projects can be executed successfully, every stage of the metal jewelry art is discussed--from practicing proper safety to learning how to cut, solder, buff, and stamp metals. Example projects--in styles from contemporary and funky to classic and elegant--include pendants, earrings, bracelets, rings, and chains.
I have several books I really liked and learned a lot from soldering, metal working, silversmithing, cold connections, hot connections etc. You get my point., while they are terrific this is my favorite .. Not only does he give clear detailed written and photographic instruction he does it with humor.... Anyone I know who is self taught has done a few things where they've thought " Duh..I should've figured that out" he uses humor to turn those types of things ( making a puddle instead of a bezel oops) into teachable moments.. This book would be a great addition to any jewelry making bookshelf!
