Christmas Vows: Rich guy, Daniel, discovers that his marriage license is gone, and he's not technically married to the woman he's obsessed with. And yes, obsessed is the right word. He's rather over-the-top in his love for her, but it's written in such a way that it comes across as sweet/romantic than creepy/stalkerish. I didn't particularly love Blakely's name, or her shitty family, but I did like the happy ending, and the fact that she cut out her clearly toxic father and stepmother, rather than make allowances for them just because "they're family". Good for her!
Ringing In The New Year: Reed has been in love with Cami since they were children, and her father rented a room from his parents, and Cami basically became part of his family. Though his unwavering love for her from the age of 7 and up was fairly unrealistic, it was incredibly sweet. Sucked that her asshole father took her off to live with a creepy cult, but that part was glossed over for the most part--not of ton of details given, which, I probably prefer because hey, we're here to read a sweet story, and no dwell on their time apart, right? I absolutely loved how, even during her absence, he never gave up on her, didn't even date because in his heart, he was married to her. And it was super sweet how, after they were reunited, he offered to rip up his degree and start college all over again so that they could do it together.
Beauty Sleeps: Xavier and Gwen are both shifters, and Xavier likes to watch over Gwen, particularly while she sleeps. Because of this, disaster strikes his own family while he's not around, and so he basically exiles himself into the woods for several years, embracing his wolf side over his human side, and practically going wild. Years later, he's ready to find and claim his mate who, it turns out, is Gwen. Unfortunately, Gwen's brother--who also happens to be the alpha of the pack-- is prepared to do whatever it takes to stop it, and keep them apart. I thought it was a rather cute touch that X could smell his mate on the cookies Dom brought to him...which happened to be baked by Gwen as she worked at the bakery. His protectiveness and possessiveness was quite cute, as was his willingness to do anything for Gwen just to make her happy.
Snow & Mistletoe: Noelle narrates books for a living, and Alex is her biggest/best client...whom she also happens to have a huge crush on. Unfortunately, Alex is rather quiet and aloof--he doesn't speak much when they're on the phone, and she can't tell if he likes her. Spoiler--he's obsessed with her, but is afraid to open up because he's scarred from a car accident. He even hires out other voice actors to do books he paid her for, because he doesn't want anyone else hearing her sexy voice. On Christmas Eve, she promises to get a file over to him that night, but then her internet refuses to work. In a combination of a leap of faith, and desire to keep her job, she drives the files out to his secluded cabin, just as a winter storm hits, leaving her forced to stay with him for the night....a dream-come-true, and nightmare for him, as he continues to try and avoid letting her see his face. She does, of course, and doesn't care. They hook up, and after he reveals just how much he's been obsessed with her, they get their happy ending and she moves in with him and they get married and have a kid. I absolutely LOVED how he got her a necklace with her voice wavelength on it with his favorite words from her narrations--"I Love You". Awwww. Heart-meltingly sweet AND unique/creative!
Overall, they're cute stories, though rather simple because they're short. There is something of a theme through all four--the guy is always over-the-top in love/obsessed with his woman... but it's always done in a very cute, sweet and loving way, and never comes off as weird or creepy. Unfortunately, I didn't really get a ton of Christmas vibes from them (except perhaps the 4th story)...though in fairness, it IS titled "WINTER Collection", not "Christmas" or "Holiday" collection, so maybe that was my mistake.
