One Night Stan

Rate this book
One night together.

No real names.
No phone numbers.
No strings attached.

We shook on it.

Tall, dark, and delicious, Stan was meant to take my mind off of life’s latest drama—my cousin’s wedding to my ex—and nothing more.
But now he’s back, and I’m face to face with the man who charmed his way into my good graces… and my pants.
The more time I spend with him, the more I doubt that my heart got the memo about keeping the past in the past.

Life in Bay Breeze is supposed to be carefree and easy.
With One Night Stan around, it’s about to get a lot harder.
In more ways than one.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
(Believe me when I say you won’t put it down until the last page is read…you will find yourself getting upset cause someone called, texted or bothered you while reading this one, you will find yourself up at ungodly hours just to finish it knowing you have to be at work early (like 3am early) the very next day) YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Gia is in Atlantic city for her cousin’s bachelorette party ,she is angry, frustrated, because her cousin is engaged to marry her ex(some cousin) so she needs a moment alone for a moment while out there thinking she bumps into this beautiful (yep they say men can’t be beautiful but I beg to differ) beautiful, sexy as all get out guy and for one amazing night they hook up using fake names she becomes Gladys and He becomes Stan. She leaves before he wakes to avoid any embarrassment but on the wedding day, she finds out he is the stepbrother to her ex. She want’s nothing to do with him but Hudson was hurt when she woke up and she was gone usually he was a relationship kind of guy and was so happy to see her at the wedding but again she won’t even listen to him. Hudson is determined he isn’t giving up and will stop at nothing less then getting her to agree to at least go out with him. Gia realizes after getting to know him she really do like him but is she willing to risk her heart again and can he convince her he is worth the risk?

The banter, the snark, the heat...yes, I absolutely loved it all! From the first page until the very last I was laughing out loud while falling head over heels for Stanley...I mean Hudson. Hudson was sweet and sexy and so cheesy, he’s the perfect book boyfriend!
Gia is the girlfriend I am missing in my life. Her family is amazingly crazy, she has sass down to a science and she is the first to stand up when someone needs a dose of reality or if they need a hand to hold.
Reading as Hudson and Gia went from a one night stand to HEA was so much fun, I miss this crazy bunch already!

Okay. Ehem. *exaggeratedly clears throat*
Hellooo? Eyes here people! No, no! Don't just click away from this book yet! I promise that this will be worth your time. Promise.

Have I gotten your attention yet? No? Oh well. Guess you're going to miss out on this amazing read then. Don't worry, *does exaggerated wave of hand* I'm sure you won't like it. I mean, I did, but we're two different people, my tastes could be soo different from yours, so who's to say?

Anyway, now that I've properly captured your attention by telling you you won't like it and you feel like you're up for the challenge, picking up this book just to spite me and comment that you loved it, glad to know that I was able to help!

And now you're telling me to just 'Get on with it already!'. I know, I know, I will. Don't worry about that. Before we dive into a little bit of how I felt about this story by K.B. Cinder, I have a question for you.

On a scale of one to ten, how much do you like the cover?

I'm normally not a major critic regarding book covers, and I'm not saying this cover doesn't look appealing as well. Some just... might not like covers with a semi-naked man folded all over it. If you're one of them, let me just tell you. Do not judge this book by it's cover. Seriously. If you're one of those who love this kind of covers, well good for you! I think you're probably going to love the story as well.

One Night Stan is (in my opinion) a feel-good romantic comedy starring "Stan" and "Gladys", otherwise known as Hudson and Gia. Like what the title and the description mentions, the two met because of their one-night-'stan', one with no real names, no strings, no anything. Well... someone soon had a change of heart regarding their relationship, or at the time, hookup, but it was too late. The other person had left. Gone. No trace left.

I guess fate (in this case, the author) wanted them together. How coincidental is it for the two to meet again in a wedding? (Not as the bride and groom). Much less for them to be entangled to each other in so many ways. No, I'm not talking about them and their entangled bodies, I'm talking about their relationships with the bride and groom. Without said entanglements, I'd be willing to bet that they would never meet each other again, let alone meeting again so fast.

When I was at chapter 20-ish something, I forgot which one it was that they finally got together with everyone else knowing. I'm so so sorry for that!, I looked at the page of contents again, and I was shooketh. Not in a good way at first?

Why was I shocked? Good question. At the time, I felt like Gia and Hudson were already happy, things were sailing so smoothly and the story was probably about to end. Obviously I found out that it wasn't ending that fast, what with the extra ten-ish chapters and all, and I was a bit freaked out for what was going to be in store for me.

Normally when there are ten-ish more chapters left in the book, that meant some heavy drama was coming. If executed properly, I love drama. Adore it, even. But when it's not executed nicely, with either the H or the h pushing the other person away due to absolutely no reason at all, or just a very very minor reason that didn't excuse them for hurting the other person, I won't be happy with it. Some authors are amazing with drama, tensions and everything past the 50% mark of the book, while some just aren't that good.

In this case though, the "drama" was dialed to the absolute minimum, and those ten-ish chapters I mentioned about? You won't see the H and the h torturing themselves by separating, resisting their pull towards each other. Nope. They both know what they want and they aren't afraid to go for it. There was some low-key drama happening, but most of them didn't center around them, more like the "drama" was passing them by. I liked that. A lot. I didn't need anything messing up the wholesome thing Gia and Hudson had between them.

In conclusion, I absolutely sucked this book up and this is an A++ read (for me). I mean, I even finished it in one sitting and I don't really get to do that very often now because of my somewhat busy schedule. If you haven't read this, I'm definitely recommending you to get this!

(Btw, to anyone who actually bothered to finish reading this review and ended up buying the book, did you enjoy it at all? Or is my taste for rom-coms just absolutely bonkers?)

Hudson and Gia's Story . . .

This story was really good. Humor always draws me in, and this story line was riddled with it. I enjoyed every page!

Gia Esposito, for some crazy reason having agreed to be a bridesmaid, is in Atlantic City for her cousin's bachelorette party – “crazy” because her cousin is marrying Gia’s ex. Making her way to the casino, Gia runs into a handsome stranger and they enjoy a one-night-stand under the assumed names of Gladys and Stan. To avoid drama, she leaves before he wakes up the next morning. And at the wedding held the following weekend, Gia learns that “Stan” is actually the stepbrother of the groom, her ex!

Hudson Stanley had been dismayed to find Gladys had disappeared after their wonderful night together. So when he saw her at the wedding, he was hoping to continue seeing her. Despite her not wanting to continue with a relationship, Hudson is persistent. They begin to date, and he even takes a job closer to her. Can he convince her that he is serious about her? Will she be willing to explore a HEA to keep them together forever?

Never settle for anything less than "the tingle"

One Night Stan is the story of Gia and Hudson, or should I say Gladys and Stan. They met one night in Atlantic City when Gia is therefor her cousin Claudia's bachelorette party. When she leaves early, because the bride is being a dictator is training, she ends up in the casino with the slot machines and a couple "gambling grannies". When one of them gives her some chips and pushes her to go play the tables and find a man she heads off and wins a big bet......Mr. Muscles. They end up sharing one toe curling, multiple Big O night, with no names, no digits and no expectation. Well that all changes the following weekend at the wedding when Gladys and Stan meet again, only this time it is as Gia and Hudson.....and the toe curling attraction is even stronger then before. Hudson has it bad for Gia and he is persistent in his pursuit of her, even if she does not want a repeat once she learns who he really is. You see her cousin Claudia is actually getting married to her ex, Matt, and Hudson is Matt's stepbrother....so no complications with this situation at all!!!
This book was great right from the start as it is well written, has a funny, witty, charming and deliciously decadent story-line. The characters are such a mix but they each weave together into a wonderful tapestry.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I loved this story! The characters were great, very relatable and well developed. The story was funny, snarky and poignant. Highly recommend.

Gia Esposito is in Atlantic City for her cousin's bachelorette party (her cousin is marrying her ex). She decides to leave the party to spend some time in the casino. She bumps into a totally gorgeous guy and they hook up for one incredible night using aliases Gladys and Stan. She leaves before he wakes up the next morning. The following weekend at the wedding she finds out her Stan is actually the stepbrother of the groom, her ex.

Hudson Stanley was crushed when he woke up and Gladys was gone. He is normally a serious relationship kind of guy and he fell for her hard. He is thrilled to see her at the wedding and vows to not let her get away again, but Gia is resistant to them getting together. He eventually convinces her to give them a try. He is offered a job opportunity in New Jersey and takes it which also cuts down on his two hour commute when they date. He buys a famous home in her area which she has always loved and they get their HEA.

I’ve spent a good part of the book 😂😂😂, I ❤️it, it’s super fun.
Gia goes to Atlantic City for the bachelorette party of her cousin who is going to marry her ex-boyfriend, but she leaves the party early and ends up at the roulette table where she meets a mysterious and handsome man with whom she has a night of mind-blowing sex with no real names, no strings attached, where she is completely carried away by passion.🔥
Little could she imagine that their paths would cross again at the wedding and that her mysterious lover is none other than here ex’s new stepbrother.
Hudson is not willing to let get away again. When he wants something he doesn’t stop until he gets it, and since that night he knows that Gia is the woman of his dreams.
Although he will still have to convince her to give him a chance, in addition to winning over Gia’s extended family (big fan of Nonnina) and Karen( Gia’s cockatoo, who has a very bad temper).
I assure you that this book is going to amuse you a lot.
I will certainly read more books by this author.

Gia and Hudson are an amazing couple. Gia Esposito agreed to be a bridesmaid for her cousin, who is marrying her ex. In Atlantic City for the bachelorette party, Gia runs into a compelling stranger and they agree to one night with no real names, instead using the names Gladys and Stan. At the wedding, Gia comes face to face with her one night stand, Hudson Stanley, who is the grooms/Gia's ex boyfriend, step brother. With Hudson being persistent, they eventually begin to date, fighting through all the drama, deciding whether they want to be together or not. Karen, wow, I loved Karen. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Karen charged Hudson and he jumps up on the counter only in his underwear. I think that Karen was a wonderful addition to the story and definitely brought out lots of hilarious moments throughout the book. Highly recommend!

Clearly what happens in Atlantic City does not stay in Atlantic City and that is what makes this book such a fun and engaging book. Gia gives herself a treat to help her cope with her cousin getting ready to marry her ex. While they are in Atlantic City for the bachelorette she sees a hot guy and decides to enjoy herself for an evening and then sneaks out so she does not have to deal with the awkward morning after. Unfortunately, it turns out the her one night Stan ( his fake name to her Gladys) is the stepbrother of her ex. Hudson aka Stan, wants a chance to get to know her. She wants to forget. Can this pair find something lasting from such an crazy start? Steamy, funny and lots of interesting family and friends to meet along the way in their story.

One Night Stan by KB Cinder. OMG! This is a must read for anyone looking for a lighter read filled with funny, naughty and awkward. Anytime I grab a book from KB Cinder, I know I am in for a treat. I am so in LOVE with Stan! Don’t get me wrong, I love Gia too but seriously I LOVE Stan (Hudson) he checked all my boxes and then some. Gorgeous, witty, smart, determined, knows how to treat his girl, and isn’t willing to give up without a fight. Their families, UGH! The crap Hudson and Gia put up with was way beyond my paygrade. The author has a genuine talent for creating comedic romance with depth and emotion while still keeping things light, at time LOL, and charterers that will stick with you long after story has ended. I enjoyed this story and highly recommend story and author to others. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

'One Night Stan' by K.B. Cinder is the story of Gia and Hudson or Gladys and Stan as they introduced themselves the first time they meet at Atlantic City. That was supposed to be it, one night, except turned out they were in same wedding the next weekend.

Ms. Cinder has written a fabulous book with great characters and witty dialogue that pulls you into the story. It was funny, has drama, bad bridesmaid dresses, steamy, and passion. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more about Bay Breeze. I highly recommend this book especially if you like a laugh out loud love story.

I liked the story, but...

I only gave four stars because the story lacked depth and creativity. The story is sweet and sometimes funny but very predictable. Hudson (Stan) is not only gorgeous but playful and entertaining. The side characters could be fun but they aren't fleshed out enough especially for a large Italian family.
They met at a roulette table, decide to have a steamy one nighter. She leaves without a trace! At her cousin's wedding, guess who's in the wedding party. She tries to stand her ground, but he plows through her walls (mainly by teaching her what orgasms should really feel like). HEA!

This book is about Gia and Hudson. Gia co runs her family bar and goes to Atlantic city for the hens weekend for her cousin. Whilst in Atlantic city she meets Stan and has a one night STANd. She can’t stop thinking of him after and suddenly at her cousins wedding she meets him again although his real name is Hudson.

This book is hot and steamy. It was a page turner that I couldn’t put down. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and loved the HEA.

Loved this hilarious romance with Gia/Gladys and Hudson/Stan (the names they used) who meet when she is in Vegas for her cousin's bachelorette party. They end up having a one night Stan (lol) but she leaves before he gets up which disappoints him because she really like her but imagine their surprise when they meet again at her cousins wedding to her ex boyfriend and Hudson/Stan is her ex boyfriend's new step-brother. Loved her whole family as they cracked joke after joke and always voiced what they though .

You know that feeling when you find a new exciting ice-cream flavor that sounds and looks amazing? And then you dig in … and you want to hurl and curse the people who praised it to the vendor who stocked it.

Well, this is that type of book. It started great… then it went to shit.

Sorry, idk why it has such good reviews. I read YA novels that had better substance than these supposedly 33 year olds. Ffs. And that scene when Gia and her cousin both crying at the police station for nothing. I mean, come the fuck on.

These two...just so cute!
Gia and Hudson (or Gladys and Stan...hehe) have a hot-and-steamy one night stand in Atlantic City when Gia is there for her cousin's bachelorette party (coincidentally, marrying her awful, cheating ex) and Hudson is there on business. He wakes up that morning hoping to talk about a possible future but she's already taken off.

But OF COURSE that's not the end! Turns out Gia's ex (now marrying her cousin) is Hudson's recent step-brother (gotta love family dynamics) and they're both in the wedding!

Gia's family is hilarious! They remind me of My Big Fat Greek Wedding and he just rolls with it all.

I can't wait for book 2 to come out!

This is my second book by this author and once again, she didn't disappoint. It was laugh out loud funny and so, so sexy. Gia was feisty and Hudson was persistent. The secondary characters were so, so funny and very well-rounded. Of course, they got their HEA but what a ride it was to get there. I look forward to reading more stories from Bay Breeze.

Gia left her cousin at the bachelorette party and was at the roulette table when Hudson was checking out another football team came up and talked to her. They had one night per Gia and didn’t use their real names Hudson wanted more than one night. Met at her cousin’s wedding to his stepbrother that had dated Gia. They connected again but her cousin has problems with husband. But they were on the same page in their feelings. Great book!

Gia and Hudson's story is one that will have you on the edge of your seat with each turn of the page. Gia is at her cousin's bachelorette party and has had enough when she runs into Stan. After a night, she never expected to see him again, especially at the wedding and to find out he is her ex's (the groom) step brother add a hole new twist to the game.

Great tale from start to finish.

An anonymous one night stand. That’s all it was meant to be. Gia can’t forget Stan, Hudson is hooked on the memory of Gladys. A once in a life time chance meeting. When it happens twice, it becomes fate.

Gia and Hudson are so much fun and so perfect together.

One Night Stan is an entertaining story that I couldn’t put down. This was the first KB Cinder story I’ve had the pleasure of reading, it definitely not the last!

I read a book a day almost every day, so whenever a book takes me longer than a day I know that it just didn't grab my interest.
The storyline was okay, but it was very basic. There was no shocking plot twist or suspense that had you wondering what was going to happen next. The sex portion was alright but not overly hot/descriptive. If I was recommending a book to a romance lover I wouldn't recommend this one.

Sexy, funny & full of heart! I loved every moment. The dynamic with Gia & Hudson is so sassy and easy between them, they are a dream couple. I adored hearing all about Gia’s family and wish I could have her Nonnina’s cooking. Fast and fun read with very hot intimate scenes that were everything! 5 stars! ~I received advanced readers copy for an honest review.~
